I doubt there’s a person who regularly reads the Treehouse who doesn’t know our long-standing prediction about the 2024 democrat nomination. Factually, if you go back to the first set of articles written after the 2020 election, you will find it has not changed in almost 4 years.
Biden was installed for a single ‘throw every leftist wish list item at the wall‘ term in office. Biden equaled, one single term where every far-left agenda item would be triggered; with hundreds of millions poured into the donors’ vaults via GND legislation.
With that baseline in mind, we accepted that Biden would not be the left-wing 2024 nominee regardless of how much people stomped their feet and said he would. That scenario was just never going to happen, and still won’t. I never flinched from that non-pretending position.
My own prediction was that someone akin to Gavin Newsom would be joined with someone akin to Susan Rice. I have written about it extensively. Every single person in/around my orbit knows that for me the conversation in the last 48 hours is like discussing water that lacks dryness.
These are the moments when I just sit and watch. There’s really not much for me to say or write, other than to wait, then bring everyone into the room of ramifications that comes after walking down the hallway where reality gets accepted. In the ramification room we start discussing how the multinationals, World Bank, World Trade Organization, NATO, EU, BRICS, Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin will respond to the non-pretending reality.
Right now, everyone in the USA is discussing the ‘remove Biden’ political landscape domestically. However, in the bigger picture there’s an entire world of really big issues that come along when the USA media start openly admitting the USA president has dementia. There’s a reason why President Trump refused to engage this conversation before. It’s not good for the world.

I’m not so sure that Americans see the demise of California. I have a very tiny bit of experience to back this up: I have friends in several regions of the state who do not see/know what is happening in the metro centers where nearly half the state’s population currently reside. So far in the more rural areas around me, while crime has increased, the overall sense is that not much has changed – based on a couple of nearby wineries where the same people have been gathering and imbibing for the last few years, some driving pretty fair distances to enjoy. Traffic on the 2-lane highway is far heavier than ever; and construction in nearby towns is exploding (lots of boxes for people to live in).
In addition, my prosperous family from WA come to the desert every year, and I have not heard any of them at any time in the last three-four years wonder what has happened to their own state or to this state. I think they are oblivious, they’re busy planning their next European trip and hanging with their kids and grandkids.

The ticket is what’s up for reelection. That’s different from the administration. They’ll be President and VP until January whether either or both are on the ballots in November.
I am becoming convinced that, if they can convince Jill to step down, they’ll have to promote Kamala. That way they avoid fundraising legalities. Skipping over Kamala is an admission that she’s just a diversity hire. I don’t think Newsom has a prayer nationally, given the clown show here in California. Their only chance of beating Trump would be Kennedy, and I don’t think they would nominate him.
I also don’t think they can pull off another fraud on the level of 2020. How many would believe that Newsom got 90 million votes? Democrats are too unpopular and there are too many eyes on them. There are squads of lawyers on our side, waiting to pounce. I just don’t see how they can win with Biden or Harris or anyone else.

My father signed up for the Marine Corps when he was a freshman at an inner city college when recruiters came to campus. He then went to Quantico for training camp that summer and at least two after that. He stayed home and worked his way through college with ZERO help from anyone, no rich parents and no government handouts.
He won a merit-based partial scholarship to a prestigious law school. He worked for his room and board there. During his summers he clerked at a law firm in one of the wealthiest towns in one of the wealthiest states in the country. His boss offered him a way out, but he rejected the offer and instead deployed to Vietnam after more training in Camp Lejeune (for 11 months) because he ‘didn’t want to abandon my brothers.’
When he returned home, that job offer was no longer available, not that some other lucrative ones were not. He chose to take one that wasn’t particularly lucrative but came from some lawyers who had worked for JFK who were ‘doing good things’ for people.
My mother swam in Tarawa Terrace for the entire time they were in Camp Lejeune and was pregnant for at least three months with my sister there. She has several presumptive and agonizing conditions. Not one of her upper middle class brothers dodged the draft; one went to Vietnam and another was experimented on during the 1950’s and became permanently disabled. Her highly educated, upper tier IQ family never used one string to avoid serving their country when called upon.
Please explain to me again how I or my family somehow ‘grubbed for money’ as you explain how Citizens United didn’t enrich the oligarchs, poseur.

I think that you are somewhat confused about prep schools in general, and broad generalizations such as “connected rich kids” and “spoiled brats” seldom apply. I spent four years at Exeter in the 1970s, and it was a very rigorous academic institution at the time, difficult to pass through and easy to flunk out of. About 80% of the students were on some form of scholarship or work study program. The education there taught me how to critically evaluate information, solve problems, and to write clearly without excessive digression. Tucker may have had a privileged background, but much was expected from him and I think he has returned much to the country and world, rather than sitting on his laurels.
If you cannot acknowledge that Tucker Carlson has fundamentally changed to one firmly aligned with MAGA, from his earlier days… you have not been paying attention, or you are just like those who state that they “will vote Democrat no matter what”.
In addition, Tucker is not responsible for the actions or beliefs of his Father.

Our biggest fear should be the installment of Maryland Governor Wes Moore as the dem nominee. Why isn’t his name discussed anywhere? Michelle Obama? Sure, until you take a look at Gov Moore’s bio, photo, family, accomplishments thus far as Governor. He has recently had success with the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse recovery which has been reported as his true “test” of leadership.
This is a line from his bio, “In 2005, Moore deployed to Afghanistan as a captain with the 82nd Airborne Division, leading soldiers in combat.” He is 45 years old with a beautiful, young family.

Scary times we live in right now Sundance. My prayers for the safety of President Trump have become more ardent. It is my opinion that anyone within 12 degrees of separation from Obama should be nowhere near any seat of power within our government ever again.
The ultimate problem is not that the Dems are losing – that’s the effect (somewhat accelerated by Biden’s evident dementia).
The problem is that in the domestic and foreign spheres their policies don’t work – they net out negative. It’s unfortunate that large segments of the American public were slow on the uptake. The fog is now lifting: the menagerie of mediocre, outright incompetent and/or corrupt (or bribed) gov’t officials and supporting “infrastructure” (judges, media, celebrities) is now visible. Bad policy whether in negotiated agreements, faulty theories (Modern Monetary Theory) or decisions by judicial “incubators for fairness” has consequences. Except for the huge transfer of wealth to the top 1-5 percent no one is materially better off. Kids can’t buy a home or even find affordable rentals? Strategic Reserve used like a piggy bank by the administration to purchase votes? Lack of standing judicial edicts that coverup evident election irregularities? Contractual agreements like student loans unilaterally voided en masse by the executive? Gov’t engineered genocide in areas like NY? Little to no auditing for billions in Ukraine appropriations? State DAs coordinating with the WH while themselves engaged in all manner of fraudulent activities? A military whose senior leadership has capitulated to Woke priorities? The Lawfare war against political enemies? A basket of groceries 3 to 5 times more expensive than a scant three years ago? And on and on…
Worst of all, the total lack of any trust or belief in the content delivered by major institutions of our society? (gov’t, media, academia, science, corporate America…..).
It’s a *** **** mess. It will take years to undo all the damage – if that is even possible. There will be losers in the ensuing restoration – and they will fight back.
All should bear in mind that there is a titanic ideological clash behind all of this. The youth of our country, IMO, don’t understand how things work – how the messy real world works; the trade-offs involved that reach all the way to lofty abstractions like freedom, individualism and accountability. They have been brainwashed by a constant barrage of cultured inequities in our daily lives – without any intellectual scaffolding that informs them on how complex systems with feedback mechanisms work. They just just scope lock on the failings/shortcomings without being armed with the tools to understand how the perceived faults came about in the first place – or the painful but nevertheless better path forward.
The war is just moving to a different phase, a different appearance. What happens in real kinetic wars when one side grasps that they are losing..badly? It either capitulates or…escalates its risk taking.

You’re right. If Biden had been showing well in the polls, they’d still be pumping him with meds and covering for him for as long as they can. All Biden had to do was pull off another Weekend at Bernie’s during the debate, just like he did in the election in 2020. We have all been waiting for Biden’s dementia to choke during the first election and have been watching each day since. That question has never been an “if” question. It’s always been a “when” question. No dime store magic ball was needed to see that coming.
However, as for the timing, it would be far smarter for the Communist Democrats to win the election and then have Biden step down..AFTER guaranteeing the line of succession. To force Biden out now is risking a DNC civil war at the point where they need unity the most.
