The Heritage Oversight Project has identified three swing states – Georgia, Nevada and Wisconsin – where they believe removing Biden from the Democratic ticket would prevent anyone else from replacing him.
Wisconsin does not allow withdrawal from the ballot for any reason besides death, while in Nevada, no changes can be made to the ballotafter 5 p.m. on the fourth Friday in June of an election year unless ‘a nominee dies or is adjudicated insane or mentally incompetent.’ In Georgia, if Biden were to withdraw less than 60 days before the election, his name would remain on the ballot but no votes would be counted.
There is also the issue of applicability. In some of these states there are no statutes that deal with presidential candidate withdrawal or vacancy in nominations, or the laws only operate at the primary election. Even more, there is little caselaw determining when these statutes apply.
Policymakers and the public should be prepared for all externalities that arise from President Biden not running for President in 2024. The process for substitution and withdrawal presents many election integrity issues. Adherence to the law in some states may result in that process being unsuccessful for the purposes of another candidate being on the ballot

That appears to be the only way the Democrats can stop Trump. Replacing Biden on the ballot is not practical. See T. Turtle’s comments. I am sure the Judge and DA in NY are fanatical enough to do it regardless of the potential consequences long term. The socialist’s and Trump haters in the NY judicial system can easily stall any appeals and keep him in jail. The only legal alternative is an emergency appeal directly to the Supreme Court. That will take at least 2 months minimum. Even a boycott of NY City will take till after November to have any serious effect. That leaves a only the first Bastille moment in American History as an option. This will not happen because Republicans and MAGA’s obey the law, it is not likely to be successful and gives the Biden administration the excuse they need to declare martial law and stop the election. Eventually when the Democrats take over and establish for all intents and purposes a dictatorship the middle class will wake up and realise there is nothing left to lose and a full fledged civil war will break out but by that time it will be too little and too late.. The fourth offer of Putin to negotiate came in March 2022, when Russia and Ukraine nearly closed a peace deal just weeks after the start of Russia’s special military operation that began on February 24, 2022. Russia, once again, was after one big thing: Ukraine’s neutrality, i.e., no NATO membership and no hosting of U.S. missiles on Russia’s border.
Ukraine’s President Vladimir Zelensky quickly accepted Ukraine’s neutrality, and Ukraine and Russia exchanged papers, with the skillful mediation of the Foreign Ministry of Turkey. Then suddenly, at the end of March, Ukraine abandoned the negotiations.
U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson, following in the tradition of British anti-Russian war-mongering dating back to the Crimean War (1853-6), actually flew to Kiev to warn Zelensky against neutrality and the importance of Ukraine defeating Russia on the battlefield. Since that date, Ukraine has lost around 500,000 dead and is on the ropes on the battlefield.
Now we have Russia’s fifth offer of negotiations, explained clearly and cogently by Putin himself in his speech to diplomats at the Russian Foreign Ministry on June 14. Putin laid out Russia’s proposed terms to end the war in Ukraine.
“Ukraine should adopt a neutral, non-aligned status, be nuclear- free, and undergo demilitarization and de-nazification,” Putin said. “These parameters were broadly agreed upon during the Istanbul negotiations in 2022, including specific details on demilitarization such as the agreed numbers of tanks and other military equipment. We reached consensus on all points.
“Certainly, the rights, freedoms, and interests of Russian-speaking citizens in Ukraine must be fully protected,” he continued. “The new territorial realities, including the status of Crimea, Sevastopol, Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics, Kherson, and Zaporozhye regions as parts of the Russian Federation, should be acknowledged. These foundational principles need to be formalized through fundamental international agreements in the future. Naturally, this entails the removal of all Western sanctions against Russia as well.”
Let me say a few words about negotiating.
Russia’s proposals should now be met at the negotiating table by proposals from the U.S. and Ukraine. The White House is dead wrong to evade negotiations just because of disagreements with Russia’s proposals. It should put up its own proposals and get down to the business of negotiating an end to the war.
There are three core issues for Russia:
Ukraine’s neutrality (non-NATO enlargement),
Crimea remaining in Russian hands, and
boundary changes in Eastern and Southern Ukraine.
The first two are almost surely non-negotiable.
The end of NATO enlargement is the fundamental casus belli. Crimea is also core for Russia, as Crimea has been home to Russia’s Black Sea fleet since 1783 and is fundamental to Russia’s national security.

I remember hearing the arguments and being incredibly disappointed at how poorly the plaintiff’s attorneys did articulating the importance of the First Amendment. Several people commented that the oral arguments were not as important as the supporting briefs because the Justices would be able to read all of the evidence, but clearly, from the majority opinions, they did NOT do so! Was honestly surprised that the two AGs who originally brought the case did not find someone better to present or did not make the case themselves, as I heard interviews with both of them and they were excellent!

We are not really concerned in each candidate’s position on the major issues facing our country and their proposed policy solutions-boring.

I was a Christian mentor in a Texas State prison for all most 12 years. I ate the food, got caught in a lock down once because the count was off which took hours of sitting and sweating to get right, spent Texas hot, humid Sunday afternoons in a chapel with no AC like the rest of the prison. Believe me it does “tear” at the soul. Everyone is dressed the same in Texas all white, eats the same food, and must follow all the same rules. Looking at the wrong inmate the wrong way can be considered disrespectful and that’s a serious problem. The one thing Bannon will have to adjust to is it’s never quite ever no matter the time of day. The unit I mentored in breakfast serving started at 3:00 am so there is always a cell block moving through the halls to the cafeteria or from the cafeteria! I always wondered after going into prison why anyone in their right mind would return to crime and end back in prison? The food was awful, no AC, the constant noise and always having to watch your back because there are some very crazy inmates in the general population! I hope and pray Bannon fairs better than a Texas State prison unit! Godspeed Steve Bannon!

I hope his previous military experience has fortified him for what is coming. I’m sure he is under no illusions about the conditions he faces. And as he is “Steve Bannon” I pray they won’t be made worse because of it.
Dr Theodore Dalrymple (aka Dr Anthony Daniels) is a British psychiatrist and prolific author who spent his working life in HMS Prison Service. He has written extensively about those confined to it, the almost subhuman social conditions from which they came, and the despair of being in the hellholes which are British prisons.
Dr Dalrymple is now retired and living in France (in poor health I believe). But he is an extraordinary observer and writer of life in general as well.
As you have experienced here what he did in Blighty, I think if you ever find yourself at loose ends you would find his early essays, articles, and conversations per his time working in prisons there very interesting. An incredible, articulate writer and humanist.
I hope you were able to reach some. I’m sure it was not easy. And while you might not have seen the fruits of your mentoring as you were there, you tried in Christ-like fashion to make a life changing difference, even if it was only planting the seed which might take root after. I remember going down the Administration Segregation (fancy name for solitary confinement) line which I only did a couple of times until they stopped us because the Warden thought it too unsafe and as I approached this one cell the inmate growled at me. They had announced there were Christians mentors on the line before we started. It was some guttural sound I had never heard before or since and it gave me the shivers, still does when I think of it! He didn’t want to talk so I move on keeping an unreachable distance from his cell door. My point is there is a spiritual war going on in the prisons and Steven Bannon will be thrust into the middle of it so he will need a lot of prayers for his safety!!!
I think you’d find those sounds in British and many other prisons in parts of the world where conditions are even more inhumane. Just to hear you describe them makes me feel ill. I can only imagine. You make your point very well.
I know all of sentient America will be sending their prayer for him heavenward.
(When I think of such prisoners as you described, or the homeless who are clearly on drugs and have no idea where they are, I always remember that once upon a time in their lives they were someone’s little boy or girl, fresh in this world… and I wonder what has brought them to these lowest of of low points. I was always under impression that
Texas facilities were run better.🥴
Fortunately, most Prisons do not
suffer from the lack of A/C or bad food.
Even in Arizona the tents eventually
had A/C and heaters, which were monitored
and documented 24/7 for temperature.
Lawsuits are a great source for motivating
change.😉😉 And many convicts become
quite good at maneuvering the legal system.
And yes, during the day prisons can be
loud. A bunch of men are usually loud

It is not the physical atmosphere

And doing so would amount to party insiders’ overturning the results of primaries when Democratic voters overwhelmingly to nominate Biden. He won almost 99% of all delegates.
Still, the Democratic National Committee’s charter does make some provisions in case the party’s nominee is incapacitated or opts to step aside, and an anti-Biden coup at the convention is theoretically possible, if highly unlikely. So how would it work?
It takes a majority of the roughly 4,000 pledged delegates to win the party’s nomination. Biden’s won 3,900 of them. Under recent reforms, the party’s more than 700 superdelegates — Democratic lawmakers and dignitaries — are allowed to vote only if no one wins a majority of pledged delegates on the first ballot, so their votes could be crucial in a contested convention.
Because Biden’s opponents all won effectively no delegates throughout the Democratic nominating process, there’d be a virtual clean slate heading into the convention, and the decision would most likely come down to the convention delegates who were initially pledged to Biden.
Simple fix if that doesn’t work: voting in a new rule, a 25th Amendment clone, PROPERLY identifying dementia as an incapacitation.

The pier built by the US military to bring aid to Gaza has been removed due to weather to protect it, and the US is considering not re-installing it unless the aid begins flowing out into the population again, US officials said Friday, according to The Associated Press.
President Joe Biden, in his State of the Union address in March, announced the plans for the temporary pier on the coast of Gaza that would receive large shipments carrying food, water, medicine and temporary shelter and provide aid to the Strip.
However, the pier has continuously run into problems since it has been installed.
The pier was only operational for a week before a storm broke it apart and put back together.
Last week, US officials said the pier had been re-attached to the shore after being temporarily removed again days earlier due to poor sea conditions.
While the military has helped deliver food through the pier, the vast majority of it is still sitting in the adjacent storage yard and that area is almost full, AP reported. Aid agencies have had difficulty moving the food to areas further into Gaza where it is most needed because the humanitarian convoys have come under attack.
The UN has not been distributing food and other emergency supplies arriving through the pier since June 9.
Several US officials, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss military movements, told AP the military could reinstall the pier once the bad weather passes in the coming days, but the final decision on whether to reinstall it hasn’t been made.
Last week, The New York Times reported that the US pier has failed in its mission and may cease operations weeks ahead of schedule.
Sabrina Singh, a Pentagon spokeswoman, acknowledged on Friday that she doesn’t know when the pier will be reinstalled.
“When the commander decides that it is the right time to reinstall that pier, we’ll keep you updated on that,” she said, adding that there is a need for more aid to come into Cyprus and be transported to the pier.
