Mass escape attempts of Ukrainians from Odessa and other cities of the country were observed this month.
Ukrainian media reports daily that border guards are now spotting hundreds of men of various ages trying to leave the country. This shows that the vast majority of Ukrainians no longer believe in V. Zelensky’s “war plan”.
Groups of men in groups of 20, 50 and even 100 people tried en masse to escape from Ukraine.
In the first incident, four small buses(!) with men of military age stopped at the border of the Odesa region. Each paid between 5 and 18.5 thousand dollars for the escape attempt. Their drivers were arrested.
In the second incident, Ukrainian border guards prevented more than twenty conscripts from fleeing the war-torn country.
The group of conscripts was arrested near the village of Kelmenchi, on the border with Moldova, in the western Ukrainian region of Chernivtsi, authorities said.
The conscripts arrived from different parts of the country and planned to cross the border during the night. Those who helped the conscripts escape reportedly collected 12,000 euros per person.
It is noted that mass surrenders of Ukrainian soldiers have also skyrocketed in the last two months. The highlight is the refusal to carry out an order by six Battalions near Toretsk and the surrender of forces of the 3rd Battalion of the 110th Brigade.

It is my understanding that the President is the only one with the authority to have the National Guard cross state lines to assist in an operation. Otherwise, they are under the authority of the Governor within the states they come from.

Politics can be a miserable business that too often turns on perceptions, and for the president, the debate was a full-blown, Hindenburg-level disaster. Biden’s performance was unnervingly bad, and it has led to a chorus of calls, including in this magazine, for Biden to step down.

The debate was a grotesque comedy of the absurd. This drugged, decaying man was propped up to debate an actual elected (yet vilified and tormented) candidate for the presidency.
The stand down of the CNN moderators was obvious. I found it ominous. This departure from the rabid, leftist pundits’ playbook was deliberate. It was startling.
Finally, the wide swath of Democrat pundits wringing their collective hands during, and after, the debate was rehearsed IMO. They are actors paid to stick to the script.
This was a production that was obviously & ominously orchestrated. In that sense it was business as usual for the Mockingbird puppets.
This particular script was a departure. However, it achieved the same goal of synchronized pundits on every show, at each network, repeating the agreed upon term or phrase throughout all of their collective broadcasts.
This contrived circus announced that the entity/entities who rule –mock the very fact that those that are inserted into pretend positions of power are fake. They will never be allowed to make a decision. That is all that will EVER be allowed.

The left, politicians, media, pundits, donors, Establishment, etc. have been propping Biden up all through his 2020 campaign and his fake presidency. There is plenty of evidence out there in plain view that Biden has major medical issues, but they don’t care about that.
I think they were all hoping that Biden would be doped up enough to have a credible debate and President Trump would be unhinged and lose the debate at least such that they could claim that, over and over. Now that didn’t happen they are beside themself with grief and anger and many are calling for a new candidate. They want to beat President Trump and they are all in to do it by any means necessary.
Many are not only disappointed in he debate outcome they are mad! They see Biden as losing the election and they are horrified that this might happen. They don’t care that Biden has serious health issues, that he has been propped up, drugged up, manipulated and used. They, of course, have been part of it themselves.
It sure would be nice if they cared enough about our country as they do about winning and retaining Power & Control. They would then be just as disappointed and mad about the Biden policies that are driving our country into a failed state. But, they are not disappointed and mad about that, they don’t care about that at all.
It’s just crazy that many of our citizens just buy into all their schemes. Biden has serious health issues, there is tons. Of evidence the 2020 election was corrupt, J6 was a scam and many citizens are in jail and facing financial ruin, President Trump and many of his supporters are being attacked by a corrupt DOJ and lawfare. But, I guess they also don’t care because it is also to them not about the demise of our country it’s about winning and maintaining Power & Control.

I am tethered to a few states and IL is one…I pay attention to this one…during his first gubernatorial term, it was mentioned he had aspirations to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave….then it all went silent…total radio silence…which got my spidey sense up…esp after what happened to Blago around the other one’s years….
I left IL 30 years ago, but grew up basically following the Burlinton RR tracks west until I finally left the state.
Even as a young child, I remember the rampant Cook County corruption machine controlling the state, and how it was accepted as a fait accompli that we joked about. Paper ballots, punch cards, same day voting never stopped the corruption and vote rigging.
I realize now how people joked about the Daley Machine rather than confronting it. Even then, people instinctively new that if you made too many waves bad things would happen. I always thought the kidnapping of Senator Percy’s daughter suspicious.
Having subsequently experienced NV and AZ politics, it’s easy to see that power and greed permeate everywhere and regardless of affiliation.
That said, if the public does not continually play wack-a-mole and replace the corrupted with the ethical wherever possible, you get today’s rampant, runaway, in your face rot that threatens the existence of our constitution and republic.

Three decisions — first Fischer, which is of immediate importance to quite a few people.
This case turned on the DOJ’s decision to abuse Sarbanes-Oxley as a means of charging Jan 6 defendants with obstruction of justice based on, to quote the opinion
This was a “novel theory” that was clearly not envisioned when Congress wrote the law. If you recall this law was enacted after Enron had prosecutions fail because the alleged guilty party didn’t commit an offense directly, but basically told someone else to who had no other liability and they would have, but managed to evade it via this mechanism.
That this took nearly four years to reach the Supremes is an outrage, and so are those who were sentenced (and presumably have served time) on a serious felony charge that is now declared legally void. I suspect there will be an attempt to hold people accountable for that but I have no odds on success in that regard. However, an attempt to do this sort of “creative interpretation” in the future now comes with an attendant risk of personal liability for malicious prosecution, and thus should pretty-much stomp on any future DOJ attempt to do so.
The second, Loper Bright, is a jurisdictional earthquake long overdue.
I put these together (along with the third) as one Ticker because they’re fundamentally the same thing. All three cases turn on the question as to whether an Executive Department or Administrative Agency can effectively color into a law that which is not clearly there, when the Constitution sets forth that it is the exclusive purview of Congress to craft laws and the Executive is required to enforce them as-written, not as they might prefer they be written.
The third from a few days ago, SEC .v. Jarkesy, is for all intents and purposes the same thing. Here the SEC had arrogated to itself via Dodd-Frank the right to remove a penalty proceeding from the courts into administrative action. The Supremes found this was a wild-eyed violation of the 7th Amendment when the finding and proposed penalty is best characterized as a penalty that would attach to a civil tort. A purely restitutive order, that is that a malefactor had done something dishonest or otherwise in violation of SEC regulations and the order was to return to the damaged party the property they formerly had (typically money in the context of securities, of course) can be administratively handled but an action that essentially fines someone (where the proceeds go to the government) or is intended in whole or part to punish implicates the 7th Amendment right to trial by jury.
There are those who are screaming about all of this but the fact of the matter is that all three cases are at their essence the same question, the same controversy and have the same answer. The Constitution sets forth the prime “Rules of the Road” and if you don’t like them then the proper method to alter that is to amend the Constitution, as we have done several times through the years.
To put it in short form with regards to all three rulings (and Cargill as well since we’re on the current court term’s decisions, which is basically the same thing): It’s about damn time.

Administering an election during the COVID-19 pandemic creates new communication challenges. As many jurisdictions face a dramatic and unprecedented shift to mail-in or absentee ballots, a critical task will be to proactively communicate to voters, candidates and election stakeholders that election results will take longer to release on and after Election Day, when historically larger numbers of voters turned out to a polling place.
Although the national media has begun to cover this reality and report that results will be released throughout ‘Election Week’ rather than ‘Election Night’, your community may not have gotten the message. As a result, voters, campaigns and the media, who traditionally expect to learn who won on Election Night, may mistakenly declare winners based on early, incomplete results. Candidates or issues leading by a narrow margin could actually see those positions change in the days after the election. They may suspect or allege that you were ‘hiding ballots’ or ‘tampering with results.’
Bad agents could try to interfere and stir up distrust of you, your office and results. Every jurisdiction in this position will need to communicate early, repeatedly and clearly about the significant shift to mail or absentee ballots in 2020, expectations for Election Day turnout, and a realistic timeline for when ballots are expected to be counted. In order to build awareness in your community, you’ll need to cast a wide net and proactively educate the news media, candidates, ballot issue committees and other stakeholders who are participating in or supporting the election process, as these entities have the power to amplify your message or damage your credibility.

Darn, I caught a summer cold and it has me feeling run down. The timing is bad, I have a lot of outdoors physical work to do.

I’ve convinced my husband, after 25 years, to take elderberry gummies when colds/allergies hit. The elderberry contains quercetin, and the gummies also contain vitamin C and zinc. Closest thing to “medication” I can get him to swallow. That, and taking a break every hour or two rather than every 3 or 4. Marines are a stubborn bunch, and apparently don’t mellow much with age 🙂
I caught a summer cold 2 weeks ago, it does zap the strength so have to do little bit here and there, so doing outside yardwork, gardening, to get as much sunlight as possible has been helping.
Also hope President Trump doesn’t get one.
