Last week I spoke with a graduate of the USNA (’95). She was a Captain handing out ROTC scholarships.
During our somewhat lengthy conversation …. ALL she talked about was … the importance of women in the Navy… women on nuclear subs, and ships… and being commandant… and CO/XO of ships and subs and carriers… and tailhook.
She also spoke flippantly and dismissively about officer’s wives too.
I didn’t say much except that I CAN understand why navy wives (and husbands) would not love their spouse living for 6 months in confined quarters with a bunch of other women. She found that insulting… to women. Whatever.
I think she thought she was speaking to a feminist who agreed with her. Our conversation ended quickly after that … which was fine with me.
It can be really inciteful sometimes, to practice active listening, combined with neutral bland responces.
Active listening is first turning off that part of our brain that, while we are listening to someone else speak, is thinking about what we are going to say just as soon as they shut up.

Now, in order to do this, as they are speaking, you focus on what QUESTION you are going to ask them, when they stop speaking.
You want it to be an “open ended” question (can not be answered yes or no) and it has to tie into something they have just said to you.
So, you ask them their job. When they stop speaking, instead of responding with telling them all about your job (“enough about me, what about you,…what do you think of ME?”) you ask them something about their job.
You keep a bland, non-judgemental facual expression, body language, tone of voice.
When you hear them say something you have in common, does NOT matter what it is you subtly draw attention to that commonality.
However, you subtly avoud drawing attention to any differences.
Without realising it, when we meet someone new, we tally up things we have in common, and things we don’t.
We LIKE people that we score as having more in common, and dislike those with more not in common.
The thing is, IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT the things are; I like puppies, the color purple, I have a younger sister, I’m allegic to shellfish, I hate bananas, what ever.
If you allow the conversation to “free float” you may end up with a score, in the other persons scoreboard, with more things NOT in common, than in common.
What I am suggesting is you subtly exert enough control that they are going to score you positive.
And, yes as they PERCIEVE you to be a ‘kindred soul’ they will let down their guard, which can be quite,…disappointing frankly because a lot of people, like this obvious sexist, “show you who they really are” and sometimes it ain’t pretty.

Toward the end of our conversation – after she disparaged Navy wives- that’s when I came to their defense, rightly so. I have a number of good friends who were Navy wives to USNA grads. I know the sacrifices they made. The wives serve the Navy too.

If they had covid too, the death was listed as a covid death. I think there was some financial benefit to the hospital if they labeled deaths that way. It was intended to jack-up the numbers of covid deaths.

Let’s not forget that early on in the pandemic, the CDC issued an update for coroners when listing Cause of Death: A fourth category was added as a catch-all to allow coroners to list Covid-19 as a cause of death. Just as many people never read the NIH abstracts from 2005 (Sars Covid 1: Hydrochloroquine effective) and 2011 (H1N1 Swine Flu: Hydrochloroquine largely effective), in general, most people did not notice this change affecting the operation and determination by coroners of cause of death. Remember, in September 2021 I believe, CDC listed over 150,000 Covid deaths, but after checking coroner reports, less than 10,000 died directly from the virus, mainly elderly with heart/lung issues.

God gives all of us another chance when he opens our eyes every morning. Romans 8:28 assures us that no suffering is wasted, and God is always at work for our good and his glory. When we cannot comprehend why trials come and struggle to imagine that anything good can come from them, we can rest in the security that God is in control. Because of this, we can have hope.

This was a the dawn of law enforcement and prisons. Sheriffs were a new thing. Prison were horrible. About 2% of the males of every generation were removed for 500 years, gradually removing the genetically broken from our gene pools. We Europeans became high trust societies. I have seen no study on the East Asians (China, Japan, Korea, Mongolia), but I expect that they went through a similar process.
Bukele is updating the success of our ancestor for this modern age: life in prison instead of death for the broken lower tenth who simply must be removed from civilization if it is to endure much less prosper. Our ancestors did it the hard way because this was before the Industrial Revolution and the rise of the modern central state. They simply did not have the resources and organization capacity to do it Bukele’s way.
We should keep in mind that the genetically-broken dyscivilizational do not always cluster at the bottom of society. I have no doubt that if we were able to identify the genomic markers for sociopathy and psychopathy, we would find that many cluster in the managerial strata and even more so in the banster class who own and mismanage Western Civilization.

Good post, Linda. Ideologies that are anti-faith / atheist, that focus solely on human effort, are the tools of the totalitarians who occupy the seats of power in too many Western nations. Many of them pay lip service to God and faith but in practice avoid any mention of the spiritual effects of their plans and actions.

I started the interview thinking I would watch only a few minutes.
…And then Bukele said that what happened was a miracle. With absolute sincerity. With a completely straight face. And he meant a divine miracle, not a miracle in the fake sense that Maxine Waters or Nancy Pelosi or even Mike Pence might consider something a miracle.
…And then Bukele said that the entire cabinet in the meeting to decide how to proceed joined each other in prayer for guidance and for the safety of their people.

In my lifetime I never thought I’d see the day where I’d trade an Argentine or Salvadoran president for the American one.
I was painfully aware in listening to President Bukele that so many of our institutions: government(-federal, state), education (elementary school through university) media (legacy, print), social media, have been infiltrated and subverted by Cultural Marxism and meritocracy has thereby been eliminated. That is how it came to be that Presidents of elite universities could go to before Congress and be incapable of answering simple questions on the handling of students calling for genocide against the Jews. We have a military that is maybe 40% of what it was in 1963 (According to Col. MacGregor) we have a military with little esprit de corps due to wokeness, we have airplanes whose parts fly off in mid air, and a foreign policy bureaucracy that provokes nuclear war with Russia without any required military preparation whatsoever for it. Our cities and infrastructure are crumbling, our District Attorneys protect criminals at the expense of the law abiding, and a DOJ that no longer dispenses justice but manufactures huge dragnets to go after law abiding parents of school children and people who have religious objections to killing babies in the womb.
It is the destruction of meritocracy that has been so deeply damaging to the US. It’s not like the whole subversion started under Obama: it started back in 1922, but it was very slow and gradual, and then all at once under Obama.
We now have a whole generation of young adults who are college educated but who are ignorant of history, both US history and world history, and who spout Hamas talking points as if Hamas were a group of civil rights workers in the Jim Crow south. They have been indoctrinated to become Islamic jihadis at our colleges with our tax payer money and plenty of money from Qatar thrown in.

Do we send this generation off to re-education institutes where they will be required to get another college degree, this time a real education? Because it is unlikely that any of them are prepared to think or solve problems. Or do we just let them fail and get fired and end up useless to society? Or do we give them the option of a work program: they can either get a real college degree or they can work in any position needed by their city, town, or by any place in America that needs work to be done, be that factory work or physical, manual labor?
Do we put the entire federal workforce under probation where their performance will be judged by non-federal employees, by we, the American citizens who will develop a questionnaire to see if each person provides any value whatsoever to the country, or even shows up for work daily.
Do we create an amnesty program for all the criminals and crooks who have worked to make our elections fraudulent, giving amnesty if they name names and only for a limited period of time? Those fraudsters that come from other countries, after naming names, are then deported permanently and may never come back to America again. Eventually we will get the names of the people at the top of the fraud pyramid, and they will be the ones who should be charged with treason. It would be interesting to find out about the people in Congress: how many of them have their jobs due to electoral fraud? I would bet more than 3/4s of them. The ones at the top have probably committed the most electoral fraud for the longest.
Do we set up a tribunal to charge all the government officials who have lied to the American people and not told us about secretly passing legislation that allowed for the biosurveillance state and made it “legal” to use toxins injected into people for the purpose of maiming and killing them? Senator Rand Paul, by the way, the one most critical of Fauci, sponsored one of the most recent forms of public health legislation that put the Joint Chiefs in charge of pandemic planning.
Who in their right minds puts the Department of defense in charge of a medical emergency? The people who prepared to create a fake medical emergency, and pretend it was a bioterrorist attack so the Dept of Defense could be in charge and use deadly toxins on people and call them vaccines.
All this legislation was put in place by Congress over the years since 1948, but NONE OF OUR CONGRESSMEN AND WOMEN TOLD THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. That means to me that every Congressional signatory to these bills should be on trial for treason against the people of the United States.
Meritocracy has been all but destroyed, people have been killed, elections have been faked, and our culture has been perverted. All those responsible for all of these needs to be on trial before the American people.
All the lawyers who have worked to put Trump, Bannon, Alex Jones, Peter Navarro, in jail should be on trial for using lawfare to destroy our system of justice. That includes all the lawyers who worked to destroy the careers of Trump’s attorneys.
