Trump won over the Free Ross crowd. I had not heard of Ross before yesterday. Crazy case!

I have no regard for the LP, going back to the days of LP-NY running Howard Stern for governor and holding a convention that was literally obscene. But Trump is campaigning more aggressively than anything we’ve ever seen before. And that is the attitude we need in order to make this ‘too big to rig’, a thing that is critical, not only to win the election, but to establish an undeniable mandate for the ensuing changes that must be made.
Another great speech by our great President!
I noticed the crowd was pretty petulant, but they seemed to warm up to him by the end. So maybe he converted some of them, I hope many, and possibly their endorsement, though that might be a stretch.
If he promised pot in every chicken they would love him.
I watched Trump’s speech and I agree that it was a hostile crowd but what struck me is that there did not seem to be any agreement within the party. When Trump would make a point on a subject, half of the crowd booed and half of the crowd cheered. They bood when he said he got a full endorsement from the NRA but cheered when he spoke about gun rights. There was a few times when the crowd got completely silent. I wondered why: was he talking about a subject they had never heard of? I don’t know. Although this was a hostile crowd for sure, I 100% agree with the person that said that there was ZERO, ZERO, ZERO downside to Trump going to the Liberation Party. He had nothing to lose by doing so.
Au contraire: He made great points they might never have heard.
Being a builder and a real estate buyer and seller he used his experience.
Make it a win-win proposal.

President Trump didn’t get “booed” like the mainstream media falsely claims. In reality, a bunch of RFK JR crazies took over the first few rows of the Libertarian Convention. Most Libertarians beyond the first few rows loved Trump’s speech.

THIS WAS The REASON for the Delay in the Speech ?
The Announcer clearly says the 1st 4 rows -and tables- are reserved for Delegates.
She asks people who are not Delegates and sitting in those spaces to please find another seat.
It’s all in the vid at the tweet.
This is Loomer Loomering again.

And the corollary. When people TELL you who they are don’t believe them until they who you.
I am a long time reader of the Treehouse and a strong financial supporter of Sundance and his team. I am also a Libertarian. Card carrying. Also a significant donor to the party and its candidates. I am often a state delegate and am well known and active in the party. I have given convention speeches as well. I am also a former Republican for all the reasons we read here. I did not vote for Trump in the last two elections. I voted for the Libertarian candidates.
I think of the Libertarians as more a liberty movement than a party. We are disorganized, rude and don’t play by the rules. Trump coming to the convention was the best thing to ever happen to our Liberty Movement. He is the only major presidential candidate to pay attention to this important voting block. Its been a greatly misunderstood political ideology and this is starting to see mainstream exposure which is good for the US. We are constitutionalists. We believe in individual choice and responsibility as the foundation of a strong and prosperous society. We believe that government should serve the people best by being small and remaining unseen. The opposite of what we have evolved into as a country.
I heard various reactions in the audience. Not all that uncommon from other speeches given there. Its a tough and ungovernable crowd. However, I heard a LOT of support. Trump was obviously well briefed. I was involved peripherally in getting him to speak at the convention. It caused an enormous amount of tension behind the scenes. There are a great number of anti-Trumpers in the LNC. Angela McArdle, the LNC Chair, is not one of them. She has done more to lead the party into a sensible force for good. Trump hit three very key issues for Libertarians: keeping Bitcoin, freeing Ross Albrict and dismantling the deep state. I personally asked to have Trump pledge to dismantle the FBI and transfer its mission to the states and the Federal Marshal Service. Sadly, that is a bridge too far.
But there is much in common between Trump and the Libertarians. They are more of a voting block and keepers of the Liberty Torch than a party. Many of them will now vote for Trump because of his reaching across the aisle. He stood there and took the abuse. Trump has big cajones as we say here in Arizona. He has always had my respect. Now, he has my vote. There are many more like me. Last night may have been the moment that Trump gathered several percent of the national vote in one speech. This will be critical in an election where the fascists on the left will pull out every stop to lie, cheat and steal their way back into power. MAGA forever!
Every Libertarian I have known here in Ron Paul country has been a back stabbing , political whore working with whichever Party will help them legalize their God, marijuana. They have worked diligently with the GOPe Rinos and DemocRATS to destroy the conservative base in Texas. Our current fake Republican State Party Chair, Matt Rinaldi, who said he endorsed Trump in the Primary, voted for DeSantis instead. We have seen a copy of his voted ballot which was made possible by a discovered algorithm in the electronic voting machines. You can see it in the exclusive story by Current Revolt. I believe we have a copy of Gov Abbott’s but that one wasn’t released. I have hopes that they will also release that one and many others so we can see the Never Trumpers in our midst pretending to be Republicans while working behind the scenes to destroy our Party like they have theirs.. The only Libertarianoid with an ounce of honesty was Ron Paul . His son Rand fell a bit farther from the oak and is not even close to the character of his dad. The only thing Libertarians do well is quote the Constitution which they all seem to memorize so they can sound like patriots when in reality they are a bunch of anarchists wanting to get legally stoned.
I am used to the intolerance coming from both sides of the aisle. This reaction does not surprise me.
I actually helped them take over our Party here in Tarrant County and got to know them fairly well or as much as one can since they are an ‘incestuous ‘ bunch who normally only talk to each other and no one else outside their circle. I will NEVER work with them again and I hope Trump is well aware of their treacherous nature because they will always be Never Trumpers.
Just one objective look at your party’s recently elected 2024 presidential nominee speaks volumes!
Yes it does. Here is another commentary that I thought fit perfectly and states real facts.
Chase Oliver nominated as Libertarian presidential candidate
Our Take: “Libertarians spent Monday trying to convince everyone they’re actually relevant after proving over the weekend that they are, in fact, not.
President Trump showed up at their convention, negotiating on parts of their platform, in real time, from the stage. They whined and booed and screamed profanities. In the end, the Libertarians nominated Chase Oliver, who beat out Michael Rectenwald. Rectenwald kind of did it to himself, though:
‘Mises Caucus candidate Rectenwald… struggled to articulate himself, then abandoned the event midway. He later told the Washington Post’s Meryl Kornfield that he had consumed an edible cannabis product before speaking.‘
‘Before speaking’ — which is shorthand for ‘before he went on stage to make his pitch to be President of the United States’ — he got too stoned to speak. Keep telling us how serious you are, Libertarians.
Chase Oliver is worse than Gary Johnson and, with this nomination, the Libertarians look exactly like the so-called Left. Oliver’s nomination has zero impact on support for Trump, but Biden is now facing two challengers. The vote totals on November 5th are going to be interesting … and probably hilarious.
The fact is that 45 gave the minor party the biggest spotlight they’ve had, maybe ever, and they face planted. Libertarians are still very much the party of open borders and societal licentiousness, regardless of what the Mises Reformers say. There is no question following their behavior, and results, this weekend, that these are not serious change makers. They’re little more than Peters Pan.
As the rest of us return to our regular programming, Libertarians are fighting each other on social media, desperate to stay a part of the conversation. Some of them are even asking President Trump to make good on the cabinet and senior post positions he offered — which they booed at the convention.
Bold, and right on brand for petulant children who refuse to grow up.” — Ashe in America
This is so spot on , it is painful to read almost.
“I personally asked to have Trump pledge to dismantle the FBI and transfer its mission to the states and the Federal Marshal Service. Sadly, that is a bridge too far.”
It’s a bridge to far to pledge with everything Trump has to deal with. .. but it’s something that can be hoped for. The Deep State is intertwined with the FBI and every Federal law enforcement organization. Well maybe not the Postal Inspectors unless they can be tied to mail in balloting fraud.
It actually takes some Congressional assistance to do that. However, the Executive Branch can effectively neuter some aspects of their activities and priorities.
Thanks for your comment, Jim.
And yeah, I agree, there was a lot of support in that room, and >>>> every vote counts!
Really glad Trump went there.
I too am a libertarian, but no way will I even join the American Libertarian Party… it’s a joke… more of an Anarchist Party. My problem with that party is that has too many “pure dogma” people unwilling to recognize that politics is the art of compromise… it is dirty… it is nasty. You can’t stay clean… if you do, then get out of politics and get a still and make some fine whiskey.
Trump is actually closer to the Classic American Liberal ideas than the GOP and as such, I would expect the likes of “real” libertarians to vote for him.
We’ve voted for him five times so far.
BTW, it’s spelled “cOjones”.
“cAjones” is literally “drawers”.
And, yes, Trump does have big cojones.
I enjoyed this comment. It was very eye opening. Unfortunately Sara Legvold did not see its value. Thank you. MAGA forever!
When considering the candidate and his background plus political policy leanings that the Libertarian party selected as it’s 2024 POTUS candidate it’s difficult to see any solid connection with MAGA . Note that MAGA differentiates itself from the uni-party (GOP and Democrat regulars/RINOS) and such in general as being more of a nationalist party dedicated to the adherence to the Constitution plus rule of law, enacting a US sovereignty first agenda, advocating policies that prioritize creating opportunities and likewise prosperity for US citizens in addition to returning our Constitutional Republic back into the mold that the Founding Fathers envisioned.

How was RFK, Jr received at the convention?
DJT was being generous when he stated that the Libertarian Party would get 3% of the national vote in the 2024 Presidential Election.
I finally took time to watch this.
What an unruly, rude crowd!
“You want your 3%,” had to be the left hook, undercut to the chin, only if they were paying attention and not screaming like banshees!
