I know sugar has gone up like crazy. I could buy 2 4 lb. bags of sugar for 4.oo dollars a few years ago. Now it is 3.29 at the cheapest price for one 4 lb. bag. I was looking for bargains on sugar to stock up for hummingbird season but it looks like I’ll have to bite the bullet to feed my little friends this summer.

About the only ice cream we consume is the Breyer’s Natural Vanilla Bean ice cream, which SAYS (key word) it contains all natural ingredients. However, each time I go to buy some, which is not very often, the container is smaller and more expensive. We’ve about given up on eating ice cream in general (which is probably better for my husband and me anyway).
It does seem like poor marketing to overprice your product when it’s just a luxury item. Remember the big sugar “shortage” years ago? The price got so high that all the manufacturers who used it switched to corn syrup.

H.Res.1068 notes that “multiple news organizations have reported accounts of sexual violence against women perpetrated by Hamas during the Oct. 7 terrorist attacks on Israel.”
“A report from Physicians for Human Rights Israel has raised concerns that the Oct. 7 Hamas attacks included many incidents of sexual assault following repetitive patterns,” per the resolution, which has been referred to committee. “Photographic and eyewitness evidence of the sexual violence that was weaponized by Hamas during the attacks was presented during a United Nations session on sexual and gender-based violence.”
It adds that “decades of conflict with Israel have resulted in high levels of poverty, instability and deteriorating living conditions in Gaza that have increased the risk of violence for Palestinian women and girls, according to the United Nations Population Fund, and the outbreak of war between Israel and Hamas and worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza is compounding the risks women and children already faced.”
The resolution, which has drawn 21 co-sponsors, notes that the U.N. Population Fund records that “59% of Palestinian women and girls have reported experiencing at least one form of gender-based violence,” and that “news outlets have reported that Palestinian women have been harassed at checkpoints and while in custody, according to testimony submitted to the United Nations.”
The resolution also notes allegations of sexual violence in Sudan, Ukraine (by Russia), Myanmar, Ethiopia, Haiti, Uganda, Yemen, Pakistan and Iran.

I really like these legal analyses that Robert Gouveia does. In this one he covers two different theories about Judge McAfee’s recent dismissals
He could be giving the right a bone (several charge dismissals) before allowing Fani Willis to stay…
Or he could be laying the groundwork to justify her Dismissal.
In addition he plays some audio clips of a recent interview McAfee did. He knows inserting a political rival into his judge campaign is intended to put political pressure on him regarding this case. He says it will have no effect.
In the interview he sounds like an ethical person/judge. I hope he is.

Bragg himself now wants a 30 day delay in the case so that he can add tens of thousands of pages and documents from the Feds. Remember, the Feds were the ones who said there was no case. So the Feds had this info and decided against indicting Trump, yet now Bragg wants to use these same documents to further his case.
His problem is that, unless I am wrong, NY discovery rules say that Bragg needed to bring all his evidence within 15 days of Trump’s arraignment, not many months later. That alone should be reason for a dismissal of the case.
They are referring the 15 day issue you note to Judge Enegron , who happens to be free now , ruling expected shortly …

A lot of motions have been filed. Kelly expected today’s two motion to be rejected. But based on the judge’s questions and comments today, Kelly believes Judge Cannon is going to toss the case when she gets to another motion dealing with selective prosecution.
In short the best is yet to come. Don’t know the order in which the Trump Team’s motions will be reviewed. Watch for the motion to dismiss based on “selective prosecution” to come up for review —that’s the one expected to result in the case being tossed

Both sides can usually submit proposed jury instructions, although the judge has the final say. She can very narrowly define the statutes to make it difficult for Smith to meet his evidentiary burden.
Jury instructions must very clear and specific enough so a group of non-lawyers can apply the law to the facts of the case.
Once she issues the jury instructions, Trump could move again to dismiss, based on the witness and evidence list submitted for trial.
Trump can also move for a directed verdict in his favor at the close of Smith’s case on this basis, but that unfortunately requires going to trial.
