This debit card program — if you read the actual contract — has the potential to become an open-ended, multibillion-dollar Bermuda Triangle of disappearing, untraceable cash, used for any purpose.
It will give migrants up to $10,000 each in taxpayer money with no ID check, no restrictions and no fraud control.
So, to sum up so far, the Adams administration, with no oversight, no consultation with the city council, and no public discussion, has given itself the flexibility to launch a massive parallel benefits program, alongside — not replacing — traditional welfare cash assistance and (for New Yorkers legally in the country long-term) federal food stamp benefits.
Under the contract, upon request by the city, MoCaFi will simply dump off hundreds, or more, of blank debit cards with no one’s name on them, with unknown amounts of money to be loaded on them — up to “$10,000 per card” at any one time — by the city.\
Since doing its migrant deal with MoCaFi, Adams has been content to allow a public misperception: that this program is small and focused, with 500 migrant families at the Roosevelt Hotel receiving debit cards of about $1,000 a month, allowing them to buy necessities at grocery and convenience stores.
That’s not the contract the city signed — at all.
Most importantly, the $53 million headline figure is not the money that migrants will receive during the pilot.
This is the number that the vendor, MoCaFi, potentially will receive as its fee for services.
The city may even issue debit cards to children: “if [cards] are to be distributed to any person under the age of 18 … the city … shall confirm that the minor cardholder’s parent or guardian has consented to the minor’s acceptance and use of the card.”
So, city employees and shelter contract workers are going to be in charge of handing out cards to be loaded and regularly refilled with untraceable cash, to people who have no forms of identity acceptable to the American financial services system, under a program with no eligibility or verification policy.

Fascism is the system of government that cartelizes the private sector, centrally plans the economy to subsidize producers, exalts the police state as the source of order, denies fundamental rights and liberties to individuals, and makes the executive state the unlimited master of society.
This describes mainstream politics in America today. And not just in America. It’s true in Europe, too. It is so much part of the mainstream that it is hardly noticed any more.
If fascism is invisible to us, it is truly the silent killer. It fastens a huge, violent, lumbering state on the free market that drains its capital and productivity like a deadly parasite on a host. This is why the fascist state has been called the vampire economy. It sucks the economic life out of a nation and brings about a slow death of a once-thriving economy.
Let me just provide a recent example.
The first sets of data from the 2010 US Census are in. The headline story concerned largest increase in poverty in 20 years, and now up to 15 percent. Buried in the report is another fact that has much more profound significance for most people. It concerns median household income in real terms.
What the data have revealed is devastating. Since 1999, median household income has fallen 7.1 percent. Since 1989, median family income is largely flat. And since 1973 and the end of the gold standard, it has hardly risen at all. The great wealth-generating machine that was once America is failing—and falling more since the statistical recession is said to be ended than during it.
No longer can one generation expect to live a better life than the previous one. The fascist economic model has killed what was once called the American dream. And the truth is, of course, even worse than the statistic reveals. You have to consider how many incomes exist within a single household to make up the total income. After World War II, the single-income family became the norm. Then the money was destroyed and American savings were wiped out and the capital base of the economy was devastated.
It was at this point that households began to struggle to stay above water. The year 1985 was the turning point. This was the year that it became more common than not for a household to have two incomes rather than one. Mothers entered the workforce to keep family income floating.
The intellectuals cheered this trend, as if it represented liberation, shouting hosannas that all women everywhere are now added to the tax rolls as valuable contributors to the state’s coffers. The real cause is the rise of fiat money that depreciated the currency, robbed savings, and shoved people into the workforce as taxpayers.
This huge demographic shift essentially bought the American household another 20 years of seeming prosperity, though it is hard to call it that since there was no longer any choice about the matter. If you wanted to keep living the dream, the household could no longer get by on a single income.
Today median family income is only slightly above where it was when Nixon wrecked the dollar, put on price and wage controls, created the EPA, and the whole apparatus of the parasitic welfare-warfare state came to be entrenched and made universal.

Flynn Tells the Truth
The most definitive study on fascism written in these years was As We Go Marching by John T. Flynn. Flynn was a journalist and scholar of a liberal spirit who had written a number of best-selling books in the 1920s. It was the New Deal that changed him. His colleagues all followed FDR into fascism, while Flynn himself kept the old faith. That meant that he fought FDR every step of the way, and not only his domestic plans. Flynn was a leader of the America First movement that saw FDR’s drive to war as nothing but an extension of the New Deal, which it certainly was.
As We Go Marching came out in 1944, just at the tail end of the war, and right in the midst of wartime economic controls the world over. It is a wonder that it ever got past the censors. It is a full-scale study of fascist theory and practice, and Flynn saw precisely where fascism ends: in militarism and war as the fulfillment of the stimulus spending agenda. When you run out of everything else to spend money on, you can always depend on nationalist fervor to back more military spending.

Asylum-seekers bused from New York City were deceived into traveling to Buffalo last summer, and many found themselves staying in a hotel near Buffalo Niagara International Airport that had unclean conditions, foul odors and inadequate amenities, according to a civil lawsuit filed Thursday in federal court in Manhattan.
Stained mattresses were infested with insects, with children living there repeatedly bitten across their bodies, according to the complaint filed by asylum-seekers and past or current employees of Platinum Community Care, one of the organizations assisting migrants at the hotel.
The lawsuit also alleges some asylum-seekers were sexually exploited by several members of the National Guard, sent to act as a stabilizing presence, and staffers for DocGo, the company hired by New York City to oversee the transport of asylum-seekers to upstate locations.

No, she must be very naïve regarding the election fraud. Unless a candidate for chairman is proposing 1-day voting, paper ballots(they would be watermarked on special paper), voter-ID, and hand-counting by trained citizens, then they do not have the best interest of our country in mind.
I agree wholeheartedly with you on that and have been saying those exact things for many years.
However,I don’t believe Secretaries of State and election officials in many states can’t or won’t get that accomplished in time, so it is imperative we work within whatever system is in place. If she wins she must be inundated with calls to push for fractal voter roll clean ups, get out the vote and voter registration among young adults, and massive amounts of Volunteers.
It’s up to every single one of us to get up and do something anything. If you are physically unable to participate then volunteer to make phone calls or whatever is needed. On President Trump’s website there is a place to volunteer, or contact your local Republican Party. This is a war between Good V. evil.

Trump Tower alone would be north of 1B. It sets at the most important and valuable retail space in Manhattan. Next to Tiffany, and it was built because Tiffany & Co. sold their air rights to Trump, so it could be built at 57th & 5th as tall as it is, 60 stories I think.
Donald Trump’s residence, his triplex penthouse would come in easily, north of 200m.
I am going to say 250m, because of its province. That apartment has one of the most important 180 views of the greater metro area. While it is a little dated and very 80’s NYC glamour in style (Ivana did decorated the apartment and it would be very expensive to change). I do not think that would have much effect on the valuation. It compromises the 3 top floors and is probably north of 30,000 square + a roof garden that is another 15,000 give or take.
Lets look at the comp;
Ken Griffith (Citadel and one of the deep state masters of the universe), recently paid 238M for a 24,000 square apartment at 220 CPS (Central Park South), a couple of doors down from Trump Park (my favorite Trump building in NYC).
Griffith’s 220 CPS is like Robert A.M. Stern’s (architect) other designed buildings. They are the most desirable that the flushed with cash pay hand over fist for. Because the building and units are pre-war (WWII) in style but they are new and usually Condo not Co-Op.
Most all your pre-war buildings are all Co-Ops and are limited to old money, or very low key new money. Let’s say Jeff Bezos wanted to buy an apartment in 15 CPW (Central Park West), another Stern designed building that everyone went bonkers over. They would trow open the doors and welcome he and his sack of silicone with open arms. But if he wanted to buy at 820 5th Avenue, the broker would probably tell him to not even bother filling out the application because he was not getting past the C0-Op board. It would not matter who he knew.
A Condo building means you can put them in an offshore, LLC or your dog’s name (Trumps buildings are condo). It also means if you pass the financial requirements then all you have to do is wright the check (you can have a mortgage for what they allow) and put your required maintenance deposit in escrow. Usually they can require a few years depending on the building.
Co-Op means your name has to go on the deed. That is “IF” you can get past that buildings co-op board. The interview process can be brutal. They can reject you because you are gay, black, they don’t like your tie, you are on your 3rd wife, they didn’t like your second wife, your daughter flunked out of Dalton. The list goes on and on.
Yes the Co-Op board can keep a seller from a legitimate buyer, because they do not like the buyer. Again there are some things money cannot buy.
Many Co-Ops require a cash sale + 10 to 12 years of maintenance in escrow (maintenance can be north of 50g a month depending on the building and apartment size). Keep in mind that maintenance escrow account, cannot be used to pay current maintenance, it is only for a liquidity emergency. Getting into a Co-Op and one of the top Co-Ops can be like navigating membership at Augusta and then some.
I am going with 250 million for the triplex. Toss in a parking garage in NYC and you are at 400 million easy.
Sorry I know that was a lot of detail but many people are not familiar with NYC real estate and how important or that there are different kind of apartments in NYC. It makes a big difference in how they are valued and sold.
Also Trump’s buildings were the ones everyone wanted to buy in the 80’s and early 90’s.
New York City is ever changing and people’s taste come and go. Before you know it, townhouses were all the rage and condo’s were out, even though they are taxed at a high rate. You have control over your property, though. Ivana bought a beautiful one on the upper east side when she and Donald were divorced.
Only Robert A.M. Stern has been as an important influence on the late 20th and early 21st century, as Trump when it has come to building high rise residence in NYC. Trump even went back to some prewar on Park in the 90’s and redid them to old world standards, it was a hotel in the 60’s. I think Ivanka lived in that building before she married.
I continually defend my home state which I love, New York. I will still claim that NYS is much more conservative than many people HERE think and that our elections, think Dominion, have been stolen for longer than is commonly believed.
HOWEVER, I have no anchor on my butt so I can’t rationalize living in a State, anymore. that will arbitrarily change and redefine laws to put honest people in jail and steal everything they worked their whole lives for and just for political differences.
Maybe the Dakotas or Ohio are my next stop? It has to have great winters!
New York City is overwhelmingly Democrat and so is Buffalo, Albany and Rochester. The suburbs and Upstate rural towns tend to be Republican but the metro areas have the minority votes and the minority election fraud to make sure Democrats win.
Jefferson he had no financial clue. If it wasn’t for Hamilton, we would have be hosed.

What DiLorenzo offers is not a biography of Hamilton, but instead a critical examination of his ideas and a historical exploration of how they have shaped American history. DiLorenzo contrasts the statist, mercantilist, and nationalist philosophy of Hamilton with the strict constitutionalism of Jefferson. He portrays Hamilton as a schemer, quoting contemporaries who felt that he was intentionally confusing in his economic proposals as a means of hoodwinking the uninitiated. This is an update on the bulk cargo ship Rubymar that was hit by the Houthis a few days ago and damaged. It has taken on water and is sitting low, but has not sunk and is salvageable.

“A bulker that was hit by a Houthi missile and damaged on Sunday is still afloat and may be salvageable, based on industry reports and new photos released by the BBC.
“Yemen’s Houthi rebels attacked and damaged the bulker Rubymar in the Strait of Bab el-Mandeb late Sunday, prompting the crew to abandon ship. The master reported a blast nearby and damage to the engine room.
“Rubymar’s crew were all safely rescued by a good samaritan vessel, and the Djibouti Port Authority dispatched a harbor tug to take them aboard and bring them ashore. No injuries were reported.
“According to the port authority, the vessel is laden with 22,000 tonnes of fertilizer, and it is a potentially explosive cargo (IMDG Class 5.1).
“In new photos obtained by the BBC on Wednesday, it appears that Rubymar is still afloat, but trimmed heavily by the stern. In the calm waters of the Strait of Bab el-Mandeb, there were no signs of wave action, and the calm surface conditions may improve the vessel’s odds of survival and salvage.”
