The stock market has been in a relatively tight trading range since the first of the year. This is normal for any market. All markets no matter the market spends 70% of its time in a “ho hum” trading range throughout the year. All markets spend 30% of their time on a trend one way or another and can be both in any given year.
My longer-term signal has remained bearish despite what has been historically high stock market prices recently. I don’t know but it seems reasonable to expect a downturn for a while. I am getting shorter term signals to reasonably expect an imminent downturn trajectory. The stock market definitely appears technical toppy.
I watch Squawk Box early AM and Fast Money, smart people talking. Tom Lee famous bull sez first half down and second half 5400-5500 on S&P.
It is what my indicators are presently showing. Doesn’t it make sense anyone would either get out of the stock market or “short sell” the stock market right now?
I bet the “Planners” such as Black Rock, Vanguard, State Street, etc. don’t do a thing with their clients 401-ks. I guarantee they know the same as you and me. The whole thing has been nothing but one giant scam since 1978, IMO.
It is a good idea as far as tax deferment is concerned but there is a whole lot more to it than the people are kept in the dark about.
The “planners” prop up the Magnificent 7 to keep the SP500 from going south. Gotta keep the money coming in until it’s time to cash out.

Have you ever been to an interactive water park where a giant bucket looms over the playground, slowly tipping as it fills up with water, until it finally empties its contents onto unsuspecting visitors? That is a lot like a 401K.
I don’t trust any investment vehicle that employs gubmint tax incentives for funding. They do that when they wish to lock our money into one large bucket, to be raided at the next available opportunity.
They destroyed both my wife and I in the crash in the 2000’s. I never made that money up again. Initially called VALIC where I live and changed to Vanguard. I was promised over a million dollars in retirement if I invested the “right” way, “there” way. Welp, when I got close to retirement, I went completely fixed account and then transferred all my assests into my local credit union. No, not making much in interest, but not losing my life savings either.
There is method to the “whip saw swinging range” of the Market. It is to drive people OUT as well as reap a quick profit.
Allot of investors and those in the know cannot withstand the losses because they do not have the capital to recover losses and profit on the up up swings.
Yes, for sure and it is a dilemma. What I have had to do to avoid large draw-downs is to use breakeven stops. This requires time, patience and discipline.
However, once my position is established, I can go months before another trading incident occurs. As an example; I had just 6 trading position incidents all last year. All were very profitable and a relaxing, no stress way to “make money” on the stock market.
Think of it as being a video game a 4th-grader can play it.
The market cap of NVDA now exceeds the value of China’s assets as a country.
There are credible allegations that NVDA has been round tripping its money to produce the illusion of growth in sales.
This is the narrowest market in terms of “winners” in perhaps forever, with the”magnificent seven” responsible for almost the entire upside move in the last three to six months.

5. Use credit unions, not banks; credit unions are often local, are owned by their members (you), can’t use your deposits for speculation, and don’t contribute to big bank lobbying funds
Throw a wrench into the new debt on YOUR tab deficit spending that keeps the plates spinning but which, like all things which CANNOT continue indefinitely, won’t. The longer it continues, the worse the eventual crash will be. Getting out of debt will also help you when the crash inevitably takes place.

In M.C. and J.C. v. Indiana Department of Child Services, Mary and Jeremy Cox are appealing to the Supreme Court after they were investigated by Indiana officials for refusing to refer to their son using pronouns and a name inconsistent with his biological sex.
Becket is pursuing the case on behalf of the Coxes, arguing state courts allowed Indiana to keep the child from living in his parents’ home due to their disagreement with the child’s gender identity because of their religious beliefs. Notably, upon completing the investigation, the state determined the allegations of abuse against Mary and Jeremy were unsubstantiated, but still argued that the disagreement over gender identity was distressing to their child.

The Zelensky-led government has transformed the country into a totalitarian dictatorship, as there is no semblance of a liberal democracy left in Ukraine.

A very significant political event occurred in Ukraine earlier this month, and almost nobody noticed.
President Volodymyr Zelensky, the leader of the war-torn country, just received approval from his parliament to extend Martial Law another 90 days. There have been many parliamentary extensions of the wartime mandate, but this one carried special significance because the 2024 presidential elections in Ukraine were scheduled for March 31, 2024, coinciding with the end of Zelensky’s five year term. Now that Martial Law is in place to cover that time period, Ukraine’s presidential elections have been canceled indefinitely.
There is currently no set date for a next election, as lawmakers in the Verkhovna Rada (parliament) have failed to entertain the matter. They only agreed that elections should take place no sooner than six months after the end of the war with Russia.
While it’s not particularly unreasonable to want to postpone elections during a devastating war, the case of Ukraine deserves a closer examination, given the series of events leading up to the decision to extend Martial Law.
