I believe we need to organize exit polling where they give their voter registration number and confirm their vote. It is going to have to be voluntary but I think it will help stop the cheat. Also they need to count how many walk ins there are as in som cities peopl didn’t need to go, those kind poll workers would do it for them.

I think we are somewhat in agreement about the bad guys. “They” have been at it for quite some time and won’t relinquish control without a huge fight. It would require a massive operation to wrestle control from them. Agreed. Where you may not agree with my statement is whether or not there are good guys and enough of them to conduct such a massive operation to wrestle back control.
My assessment is the bad guys are not just bad, they are perfectly bad under Potato Joe. So, either they are speeding up their operation to takedown our country because they are so desperate, and this is their last gasp OR this is some sort of good guy operation to wake up the masses in order to take back our country before it’s too late. Pull back the emergency brake a little more in order to release it entirely.
I’m going with the good guy operation angle. The data seems to support it.
We may muse all the ways perfection is accomplished in evil but it means nothing. All the plans and devices these people bring it comes down to a personal choice for every human. God is first or not.

The amount of wide spread corruption and hatred of America and our Constitutional Republic is wide and deep, especially in the institutions of power and control. Where we are today in our country did not happen just on Biden’s watch. We’ve been moving to an anti-religion, anti-Christian direction for decades.
Hillary Clinton over a decade ago in a meeting in Brazil, I think, voiced her desire to have an hemisphere of free open travel and trade between countries. Much like the EU I think. So our total open boarder is just a step in that direction.
And maybe, Biden is their useful idiot. He is implementing policies that are destroying our country and the negative results are beginning to show such that they cannot hide. When he leaves, by whatever means, the Democrats can blame his incompetence not the overall mission they are on. There is no doubt the west is moving toward more totalitarian governments, EU countries, Canada, U.S. The people in power in state/local governments and our federal government and so many of our institutions are on-board with this direction.

My car insurance is through the roof. It nearly doubled just by switching (being forced) into another zip code 3 years ago. It went up another 40% since.
Insurance is escalating to the price of what a car or house payment was formerly.

I also wonder about medical insurance. I haven’t seen an analysis of that since Obamacare was adopted. I just remember the stated goal was to lower insurance cost, bend the rising medical cost curve downward and provide affordable insurance such that the 48m uninsured can now be covered.
It’s always amusing that they pass legislation with wonderful goals, but never analyze and report the results. Shovel Ready Projects come to mind. Then they just move on to new legislation with wonderfully stated goals.

My Erie carrier I’ve had for 3 years went from 1206 to 1330. I found another company for 1750 and stopped looking and became their client.
I dropped car insurance (kept liability) to pay for this and the ‘huge’ SS increase helps. I’m not broke, but if this continues with other bills, I am toast–I don’t have any budget left to budget. Gave up cell phone and garbage pickup and nothing left to give up other than live in one room and heat that 4 months out of a year.
I live in two rooms now. Kitchen-den in daytime; bedroom-den at night time.
I know others that are really hurting and worse than me…

Sad for people with a mortgage…..ever notice how this is rigged towards insurance? You are forced to carry home auto but there are no price controls on them. Can’t afford it they take home…can’t drive car….can’t work . They have found a way for us to never own anything cause here comes the property tax. We have sat back and let them virtually taken everything we have if we don’t comply. Mortgages have to be paid for 15 years (basically renting) until principle payments really start kicking in. Boy 2007-08 was an eye opener as to who the govt. will bail out and support. Don’t get me started on the 3 credit reporting companies…who benefits not us I can guarantee. I shut down all 3 …never had a higher credit score. Credit card banks borrowing money for 0% which was thin air money and charging 30%. Depressing if you let your mind dive in.
I live in east central Missouri, drive less than 5,000 miles per year. My car insurance went from $1,000 last year to $1,500 this year. Agency found one for me, same coverage, at $1,355. Not much better. 3 year old car. I figured last year, with insurance and taxes, it costs me $7/day for my car to sit in my garage.

I come back now and again but in my free time I have learned to draw, learning to paint with acrylics, cleaned my drawers/closets/cupboards, learning Russian, exercising regularly, and enjoying mild Las Vegas winter. Today is sunny and 67 degrees. Summer is when we hunker down and stay indoors.

dr. dodds was widely published and very much in vogue outside the university veterinary research community for several years due to the attractiveness of her message to breeders, the holistic aspects, and at a time when vaccines were being blamed for EVERYTHING affecting purebred dogs.
unfortunately, most of her research has proven invalid, for example the link between hypothyroidism and VonWillebrand’s disease was proven non-existent by many researchers, likewise her autoimmune articles (which amounts to primarily SLE and LE in dogs, both of which are incredibly rare) were speculative at best.
the vaccine duration claims were postulates only, without long term data in support.
at the time, and in response to dr. dodds hypotheses, many chose to titer their dogs for vaccine levels and base their vax schedule on the results.
unfortunately, quantitative protective titer levels have proven elusive to definitively establish, even by the most respected facilities.
lab values are reported in ranges, which amount to “probably” protective, and down from there.
you can make a “best guess” that X value is protective, but there is no way to say for certain.
no argument if you want to titer (it’s expensive) as long as you understand it’s not going to give you a rock solid answer.
however, vaccine conferred immunity IS likely longer than originally thought at the time of their development, and many, if not most, dvm’s have adjusted their vax schedule to reflect emerging, hard DATA.

The prices are insane in some part because of Biden inflation. However, in the past few years there has been a movement for vets to go more “corporate”, replacing friendly vet care for a laundry list of goods and services for the customer to purchase playing fully on the emotions of the pet owner.

I offered this a few days ago in a different version: Concerning Borders and Immigration in Comparison with the Late Roman Empire (A.D. 200- 500)
In earlier days I used to dismiss parallels between The Roman Empire and the United States for all kinds of very good reasons.
Modern America was not based upon a slave economy, and working for a living was elevated to a high level. In contrast, the Roman economy too often sidelined free people’s labor in preference to slave labor, although the latter’s quality ipso facto would be inferior to that of free people. The top of Roman society prided themselves on doing very little: work was sneered at, whereas most people at the top of American society had worked very hard indeed. Horatio Alger was not a character who would have been comprehensible to a Roman aristocrat.
The majority of the Roman population was rural, in spite of the presence of some large cities, whereas cities had held a majority of the modern American population for many years.
Among other differences was a big one: America was not an empire, although our critics and enemies used that term. For the most part, America had not engaged in colonialism (e.g. The Race for Africa), and our military presence in foreign areas was either a remnant from World War II or to defend an area against Communism (Korea, Vietnam).
The Romans, in contrast, had taken it upon themselves to defend a massive area – from Scotland to the Persian Gulf, and from the Rhine-Danube frontier to the Sahara Desert – which defense they sensed from the beginning (30 B.C. with Emperor Augustus) would be difficult to maintain.
However, resourceful and at times lucky, for over 200 years the Romans did defend the borders, but with increasing difficulty as barbarians from the East and North constantly wanted into the Empire. Small groups of Celtic and Germanic tribes were occasionally allowed in, Romanized, and became members of society.
Here is the problem: knowing that the empire was a state with slavery, where bad luck or bad decisions could lead to your enslavement, why would the barbarians risk their freedom by entering such a state? The answers are multi-faceted: e.g. climatic changes (global cooling!) were sending them to the south, overgrazed and ruined land forced them to migrate to better land in the south and west,
However, one part of the answer seems to have been that they had learned about the wealth of the Roman Empire especially in the cities, where the Romans had established a huge welfare state: people seemingly received free food and free entertainment and even hand-outs of money for agreeing NOT to riot against the government!
Worse, in its later years, the Romans sent literally tons of gold to barbarians (e.g. the Huns) to stay away. Rather than keeping the barbarians at bay, too often they decided to invade anyway and attempt to control all that gold at its source.
Sound familiar?
And so, there are indeed some undeniable parallels to America’s situation today: whether America can be defined as an empire or not, that our massive welfare state – combined with the recent legalization of theft in certain areas, something to which the Romans never acceded – is attracting millions of modern-day “barbarians” can no longer be waved away.
And if we are not quite sending “tons of gold” to other countries, our wealth is being exported daily.
And finally…what about that slave-labor and work-ethic difference? Today we have an economy based upon near slave-labor in China, Vietnam, et al. and only 60% of the American population is working for a living, with far too many people fat and mentally anesthetized with our version of bread and circuses: welfare checks, cell phones, and wide-screen televisions with 500 channels of idiocy all paid for by the taxes of those still working.
Toward the end of the Roman Empire, the chaos caused schooling to deteriorate, illiteracy rose quickly, non-Latin speaking barbarians dominated cities, which fell apart as the barbarians knew nothing of the technology of e.g. the water supply, basic architecture and building construction, etc.
As soon as barbarians replaced the original civilized populations within one or two generations, society showed ever greater deterioration. Rome itself would be reduced to a population of c. 5,000 by the early Middle Ages (A.D 500 – 600), whereas in A.D. 150 it was a well-functioning city (i.e. people lived in relative peace, those economic problems were simmering) of 1.5 – 2 million!
Pope Gregory the Great in the later 500’s looked upon the wreckage around him in Rome, wondered what had gone so wrong, and could only assume that the end of the world was nigh.
He was wrong of course: but the end of a particular world had indeed occurred, and it would take over a thousand years for Rome and Europe in general to reach the same level of civilization, which the Romans had established, in spite of their many faults both moral (human sacrifice in the arenas in the pre-Christian days) and economic (slavery).
Of interest perhaps is that a few decades ago, “revisionist” Classical Historians – in the light of contemporary immigration problems – started a campaign to “reinterpret” the barbarian invasions of the Roman Empire by Goths and Huns, and thereby reinterpret the Fall of the Roman Empire.
Suddenly, according to these historians, there was no “fall” perpetrated by barbarians (i.e. illegal immigrants).
Rather there was a “transition” into the Middle Ages, things “evolved” in different ways because of Christianity, large cities were not depopulated, etc.
In typical Leftist fashion, by cherry-picking evidence and at times twisting it, we were suddenly told that Germanic tribes brought a different energy and different customs into the empire: as they began to dominate, those customs dominated older, less viable Roman traditions, and things changed.
During the appearance of this revisionism, I was contact with my former professor of Classical and Byzantine History, and I asked him what he thought of this new wave of scholarship.
“It’s nuts, of course!” And he said the archeologists especially were outraged, because they had found the physical evidence of destruction for many years, carbon-dated, and indisputable.
The literary evidence was still extant: we have the writings of witnesses to the massive carnage at Naissus wrought by Attila the Hun: a city of 100,000 was literally turned into a ghost town, acres and acres of human bones were still visible years later.
The “push-back” from the archeologists and sensible historians refuted the claims of the revisionists, who are now in retreat. As one archeologist wrote, who had found irrefutable evidence that civilized Romans had fled into and lived for a long time in caves in southern France, forsaking their estates and farms (the artifacts indicated a wealthy past), he wondered how those Romans would have felt about the “transition” taking place outside those caves!
So, for the Romans, illegal immigration and the inability to defend their immense northern border led to their disappearance, and Europe lost 1000 years of progress, as it would not be until the 1500’s with the Renaissance that Western Europe would return to the level of civilization reached by the Romans.
I spent a night in a cave in Southern France once!

Concerning Edward Gibbon and his opus The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire:
Gibbon begins his story with the end of the reign of Marcus Aurelius, and the accession to the throne of his mentally ill son Commodus. Many, if not all, modern historians would agree with that starting point, although some will quibble that many cracks in Roman society began even earlier.
Gibbon’s history, therefore, goes from roughly A.D. 180 to 1453, when the Turks blow down the previously impregnable walls of Constantinople (with the help of cannons provided by Venetians: so much for the divide between Christendom and Islam! For the Venetians it was strictly business, nothing personal! 🙂 )
How precisely does a society “decline and fall” for nearly 1300 years?!
So what Gibbon deals with is mainly Byzantine History, and the Greek Byzantines had their ups and downs and periods of stability.
To be sure, the long-term trend was downward, as Arabs, then Slavs, then Crusaders, and then Turks nibbled away at the eastern remnant of the Roman Empire.
So, one must realize that the fall of the Western Empire is only about 1/4 to 1/3 of his story: the majority of it deals more with Byzantine History and the rise of medieval Germanic kingdoms in the West.
I found an explanation of the fall of Rome in Petronius, “Satyricon,” Chapter 14. “Eumolpus on the Writing of Poetry”, starting 119 is an explanation of the sins of the Romans in the form of a sample poem. Petronius used this device to comment on the scene. Every land Rome conquered was laid waste, turned to desert, blood on the sand, the people enslaved, the animals killed. The empire was fueled by charcoal, so all the trees were cut down to make it. Morals were abandoned. Eumolpus’ poem is a story of the decline of empire in the Romans’ own words.
Most assume that history moves forward toward improvement and progress. The Dark Ages says otherwise. Bad ideas infect minds, and history retrogresses.
I have been contemplating the intangible aspects of the decline, to what extent did a “breach of trust” play. For example, legionaries returning from service, finding themselves pushed off the land by large estates dependent on slave labor.
Did the legions find themselves betrayed of everything they thought they were fighting for? What did they do? Was decline guaranteed once the very people who most ardently defended it, found themselves out in the cold?
I have been saying, when the government loses people like the treeper clan, they have lost.

I just finished @krisnewby‘s Bitten, which tells the history of the US government’s secret program in the 1950s and 1960s to weaponize ticks to deliver deadly bacteria to incapacitate unsuspecting populations.
Newby, a talented journalist and science writer, structures her history around a biography of WIlly Burgdorfer, the Swiss-American scientist who discovered borellia burgdorferi, a spirochete bacteria often found in Lyme disease patients.
It’s an incredible, infuriating, well-written book worth your time.

US transfers seized Russian assets to Estonia
The move allowed America to dodge its own laws against sending money to Ukraine
The US Justice Department has handed almost $500,000 in forfeited Russian funds to Estonia, from where the money will be used to help repair Ukraine’s power grid. The transfer was the first of its kind, and effectively used Estonia as a middleman to skirt US laws forbidding a direct donation to Ukraine.
The money was used by a Latvian machining and welding company to purchase a jig grinder from a Connecticut-based firm in 2018, before a group of Latvian and Ukrainian smugglers attempted to move it into Russia, in violation of US export restrictions, the Justice Department said in a statement on Saturday.
The device – which can be exported to the EU but not elsewhere due to its “applications in nuclear proliferation and defense programs,” was intercepted by the US and Latvian authorities before it reached Russia, the department stated. A Latvian man was arrested in 2022 and extradited to Connecticut, where he pleaded guilty to violating export controls last week.
In a joint briefing at the Munich Security Conference on Saturday, US Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco and Estonian Secretary General Tonis Saar announced that the $484,696 used to purchase the machine had been transferred to the Estonian government.
Estonia will use the money to finance a drone-based program to assess damage to the Ukrainian power grid, they said.
