The Senate immigration bill, aka border security bill, is only designed as the cover for the Senate to send $60 billion more to Ukraine. The Ukraine money is the priority (corps/lobbyists) the border “security” bill is the technique to create and spend it.
That said, they certainly would not want to let a created and purposeful border crisis go to waste, and they didn’t. The latest version of the Senate Immigration Reform Bill is now public [SEE HERE]. The proposed Senate border security bill provisions are actually worse than existing non-secure border provisions.
[LINK TO BILL]
America First Legal did a great job hitting on the top-line issues created by this new bill. In many ways, multiple ways, this supplemental “border security” bill makes things worse. The bill codifies into law the loopholes currently being used to increase the number of illegal aliens. By this design the bill makes things worse.

The IC has six ways from Sunday for getting back at you.
We’re coming for you, Gorsuch; we’re coming for you, Kavanagh…
American men will die in war if Republicans don’t accept this $100 billion bill.
Not if Republicans grow some balls and reclaim their constitutional and exclusive right to declare war. And in view of the War Powers Act which restricts the President’s right to wage war WITHOUT Congressional consent to a mere 60 days, Congress holds the power … IF THEY WILL JUST USE IT, cowards that they are!
Maybe they will get some balls, but from Nam until now they all sell out, and young men die in old mens wars.
Now it just takes a few minutes to incinerate everything.
Get in the streets now. Johnson was removed, Nixon for different reasons. It can be done. Now is the time.
Are you proposing a formal declaration of war against Russia, Schumer? We haven’t seen that done properly since WWII.
Thought the civil disobedience was bad during Vietnam? This will be a whole other level with few wanting to be drafted for a conflict that Americans and Russians both don’t want.
President Trump fully enforced the immigration laws in place and added new enforcement to create the lowest illegal immigration entry in history. And we need a new immigration law because??? Oh yeah, the ukraine bioweapons mecca needs another 60 billion, said no one ever! Pudding brain hasn’t been in charge since day one and the dictator is buck naked…
We live in a world where the intelligent must keep quiet so the stupid will not be offended… fragile snowflakes be damned, we have arrived and the time is long overdue
Bravo, sir. Perfect!
Anyone here on this CTH thread now knows volumes more about this Bill and what is in it, than any US Senator whose vote has been prearranged to pass it. None of those senators (R or D) cares what is in it or the damage it intends to inflict upon America.
Let that sink in.
“The Secretary “may” use it if there are 4,000 or more aliens encountered each day (28k per week, 121k a month, 1.46 mil a year).”
That’s about the same catastrophic rate of illegal entry we have right now. So what they are offering is to keep the rate of the catastrophic end of the Republic at where it is now—not speed it up.
The sickos who are pushing this insult to injury idea deserve the Mussolini treatment.
Yes they want a FLOOR not a ceiling.
Border Protest fizzles out, although I am not sure it ever had enough publicity to fizzle up…
“Several hundred people gathered in three border states Saturday to call for stricter immigration security, ending the cross-country “Take Our Border Back” convoy that traveled from Virginia to Texas last week.
Convoy organizers and supporters initially said as many as 700,000 vehicles would take part in three separate rallies in Arizona, California and Texas, including truckers who took part in recent protest convoys in Washington, D.C., and Canada, according to U.S. Rep. Keith Self, R-Texas.
While hundreds of thousands of vehicles never materialized as the convoy moved across the country, about 100 passenger vehicles, recreational vehicles and trucks towing campers arrived in Texas, according to NBC News....”

All kinds of reasons for the lack of interest in the comments on ZeroHedge, e.g. a feeling that it would not change anything, fear of being targeted by the FedGov, etc.
The list of Senators identified as being opposed to the immigration bill is a little larger than it might have appeared, because it was truncated by this forum software. Here’s the full list. Tim Scott is still absent from it.
-Marsha Blackburn
-Ted Cruz
-Steve Daines
-Josh Hawley
-Ron Johnson
-Mike Lee
-Rand Paul
-Marco Rubio
-Rick Scott
-Eric Schmitt
-Tommy Tuberville

Note how every Democrat ripoff that pulls in a few RINO traitors is pitched as a “Bipartisan” compromise. But Republican authored bills are NEVER characterized that way and are always labeled as extreme or fringe or partisan.
Where’s Lindsay Graham? Maybe he’s busy practicing his espanol, eh?
all graham is looking for are a few amendments that he can claim…along with a few million in payoffs.
Lindsay, bless his heart, is is practicing the double middle finger salute with Chuck Schumer.
and some still believe trump will pick scott for vp. zero chance of that.
Here is a source for that list: https://www.newsweek.com/full-list-senate-republicans-opposing-border-bill-1866890
I’m absolutely shocked that my 2 Senators are NOT opposing the bill….Ed Markey and Pocahontas. /S
It seems to me that the implosion of this immigration deal signifies the end of the era of Mitch McConnell.
I’ll vote for that.
Hoping and praying.
This is a spending bill and per the Constitution, all spending bills has to originate in the House.
they’ll work that out…just like cr’s.
I’m actually confused by this. The bill is HR 815 which indicates the House. And there was an HR 815 passed by the House but the Senate hasn’t voted on it. If anyone can explain this to me I would appreciate it!
The only thing that makes sense to me is the Senate bill is an amendment to the House bill. I don’t know though! I hope someone knows.
The House passes a bill (like HR 815).
The Senate lets it sit around without any votes or movement on it, languishing in the “in box” as it were.
At some point the Senate wants to generate a funding bill (in this case Senate Amendment 1371), so they write it as an amendment to the bill that originated in the House (HR 815) which they left languishing for just such an opportune moment.
Presto – Constitutional as they CAN legally amend any bill which originates in the House and then send it back to the House for their consideration after they’ve voted on it. It’s a game they’ve played for a long, long time. They usually pick a simple bill that is for something positive – like HR 815 was.
Here is the Congressional record that tracks the deed:

Side note – a sincere thank you for your actions today. Would say more, but right now I would say things I shouldn’t…
thx harrison
Listen to Trump’s interview on Dan Bongino’s Feb. 5 show. Trump comes out strongly against the Border Bill that Sen. Lankford is pushing. Trump says he did NOT endorse Lankford!
https://rumble.com/v4bkvru-trump-joined-my-live-show-to-discuss-the-border…im-still-speechless.html
But the Great Senator from TEJAS, John Cornyn, is all in on this bill. So you NPC’s who are from TEJAS, who claim to be MAGA. March right down and vote for Cornyn like good little drone’s. Then come back on Last Refuge and tell US all how conservative you are.
The denton County GOP has John Cornyn as the Keynote speaker on its 2/10 dinner at the Embassy Suites.
Would be a perfect opportunity for people to get all up in his face…
I think maybe Cornyn is getting pressure to vote no.
Sen. John Cornyn (R-Tex.), a McConnell ally, said he has “questions and serious concerns” about the legislation, signaling issues with its path forward in the Senate. Sen James E. Risch (Idaho), the ranking Republican on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and a defense hawk, hinted at his opposition in a social media post, where he called for enforcing the existing laws at the border and stopping “this insanity.”

The ridiculous “Border” Bill is nothing more than a highly sophisticated trap for Republicans to assume the blame on what the Radical Left Democrats have done to our Border, just in time for our most important EVER Election. Don’t fall for it!!!
Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump
Only a fool,
or
a Radical Left Democrat,
would vote for this horrendous Border Bill,
which only gives Shutdown Authority after 5000 Encounters a day, when we already have the right to CLOSE THE BORDER NOW, which must be done.
This Bill is a great gift to the Democrats,
and
a Death Wish
for The Republican Party.
It takes the HORRIBLE JOB the Democrats have done on Immigration and the Border, absolves them, and puts it all squarely on the shoulders of Republicans. Don’t be STUPID!!! We need a separate Border and Immigration Bill. It should not be tied to foreign aid in any way, shape, or form! The Democrats broke Immigration and the Border. They should fix it. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!
Hold it right there, Trump. The last thing we need is a border and immigration bill. We saw what you tried to pass last time. No sale. We’re not stupid. Build the f****** wall. Throw those people out. Prosecute the people that did this to us. Call it a day. You’ll end up with your picture on the $100 bill.
yup.
Congress needs to start repealing laws and regulations. Not writing more.
As an absolute rule is Congress must have a line item budget – that means ending Continuing Resolutions – which is flat out robbery of the American people.
I blame those stupid voters of NY for Chucky! I’m also looking at the crime stats of NYC and the State going way up, then more people moving out!
They do deserve it!
Thanks a lot. I’m a NYer and did not vote for Schumer. You might bllame the Democrats who greatly outnumber Republicans because of New York City.
But in truth blame the massive voter fraud as uncovered by AuditNY.
Thanks a lot Loren!
Do you know how big NYS is? It’s Big and mostly all vote RED.
Unfortunately, we have at least 4 big cities that out populate the rest of the state.
Nobody I know ever voted for the Smuck!
I live in the woods up in the Adirondacks, not a lot of people up here.
Live on Long Island and don’t know one person who ever voted for this POS.
This is Trump country, but tough to overcome the city and the cheating.
Last time Chucky ever made it this far out of the city for a fair, myself and others made sure he wasn’t welcome here to his face. Have never seen him out here again.
Hey! We ordered alligators WITH LASERS!!!! Can’t they get ANYTHING right in D.C.?
How about Laser-Shooting Dinosaurs?
On Wednesday there will be a procedural vote to determine whether or not the bill will move forward. They only need 60 votes to advance the bill, with 51 dummy Dems (3 call themselves independents) they need just 9 GOP Senators to vote yes.
Does anyone know how to locate the page that shows updates to the bill so we can watch for the vote?
Sounds like things aren’t looking good for the McConnell/Schumer fiasco.
Lots of blow back. Apparently the public is more awake than the uniparty thought.
https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2024/02/05/mitch-mcconnell-turns-border-bill/
FTA
Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) made the shocking decision to recommend Republicans block the advancement of the Senate pro-migration border bill.
That first procedural vote was set for Wednesday. It is unknown if Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) will forge ahead, although that is likely.
McConnell cited the overwhelming number of Senate Republicans planning to vote against the measure either on substance or because they wanted more time, according to Punchbowl News.
The longtime Republican leader has spoken in favor of the deal and did not express any personal hesitations about the legislation to his colleagues.
According to Punchbowl, McConnell said the political mood in the country has changed since negotiations began months ago. At that time, McConnell and Democrat leaders agreed to pair foreign aid to Ukraine, of which McConnell is the Senate’s greatest champion, with a border compromise.
It’s in my reply to you upstream.

Hey lowlife Lankford. What do you have to say now about internet rumors and none of that stuff being in the bill? Are you really that much of a dirtbag that going and lying on TV doesn’t tweak your conscience even a little? I got nothing else to say
Look at my comment directly below. Lankford is one of the authors (“negotiators”) and now he says he might not vote for it. lol
his DC office number and many other senator phones auto-disconnect when you call…. perhaps he went into hiding. Legal American citizens finally hit their tipping point for all things evil and corrupt via Lankford, Sinema, Murphy, McConnell, Chucky, Romney, R Scott and all the other bought-and-paid-for political maggots
Following up on Oldersoul’s comment upstream:
Following a closed-door meeting of Republican senators on Monday evening, the deal’s chief GOP negotiator Sen. James Lankford (Okla.) said he believed Republicans would likely band together to block the legislation on Wednesday — and that he himself might even vote against it. Sen. John Thune (S.D.), the No. 2 Republican, said everybody agreed Wednesday’s expected procedural vote was “too soon.”
https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/02/05/republican-opposition-mounts-border-for-ukraine-deal/
Total poopoo show, it appears.
Interesting, the GOP no’s are up to 20+ now. From the same article:
But at least 20 Republican senators had signaled their opposition to the deal as of Monday evening, alongside two Democratic senators who blasted it as too draconian on asylum seekers.
That last note about the two communists is hilarious – “too draconian on asylum seekers.”
Between work and phone calls to Congress AND local offices, friends, family, and other co-workers it was a heck of a trying Monday. On the plus side, received commitments from several in Congress do to the efforts of the many citizens and patriots who haven’t simply rolled over and given up. Am personally aware of dozens of prayer chains that have been started as well – praise God.
A ton of more information has come up from various analysis on “The Amendment from Hell” (S. Amdt. 1371). I don’t think it could have been crafted to be worse if they tried.
For now that’s all I’m going to say – but I will have more to say at some point. No pretending.
Here is a list of posts in this thread that do a pretty good job of summarizing the monstrosity that is “The Amendment from Hell”:

Here is a link to the Congressional page that tracks the progress of the action:

So it’s all in one place, here are the names of the Senators whom have publicly pledged a NO against this monstrosity (however in light of no pretending – there are no doubt some (maybe all) of them that will be moved by one or more concessions or changes to it – particularly if the so many so called “patriots” and “conservatives” of this country continue to throw their hands up in defeat without the slightest effort to win.)

I expect that list to grow. For myself and those I spoke with one-on-one today, we most definitely will NOT give up, will do everything we can RIGHT NOW to increase the length of that list and create a firewall in the House. We will NOT quit praying. The goal is to destroy this bill and not allow ANY form of it to prosper.
To all those readers who stood up today – thank you and God Bless you. This fight is far from over. Do NOT stop calling. Do NOT stop praying. Do NOT allow others to wilt your spirit or turn you away from the task at hand or discourage you.
Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls. Hebrews 12:1-3
The only response needed to this bill is a loud and firm NO! If a second response is needed, then HELL NO!
To those who think supporting Ukraine is in our best interests. (and perhaps to a point it may be). You are either unaware or forgetting that the Russian – Ukrainian war is essentially a civil war.
It was entirely avoidable, but the Uniparty would rather has Russia as an enemy than as a strongly conservative (think Hungry or Poland) ally of the West.
The House is to initiate all funding bills——set the Senate _hit and take each item in it and deal with it in a separate bill……one at a time.
The House needs to assert its Authority.
