In my town the teachers received a 17% pay increase and the next year 14%. Then when it was time to return to class, 7% of families decided to home school. They requested a vote to lift the cap on Scholl levies. We argued that they had reduced classrooms sizes and didn’t need more money. They insisted they did because they had a large increase in special needs kids. We demanded to know what that special need was. Limited English Proficiency!!! The new special needs kids didn’t speak English. Unfortunately, it was approved!!!!
