I love Ben Carson but, Trump might wish to go with a younger person. Trump has also spoken of choosing a woman as his VP. There are three women who fit the role: Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Cristi Noem and Elise Stefanic. Sanders is just in her first two years of Governor of Arkansas. I doubt she would leave her position for VP slot. Noem is not liked by everyone and she’s Governor of a state with low population. I think the best bet is Elise Stefanic. She’s loyal to Trump; has become very MAGA; she’s very smart; can help Trump with Congress; well-liked by her colleagues, and she’s only 39 years old.
Her voting record is not MAGA even though she has fully supported Trump.
She wouldn’t help Trump carry NY; She’s too young and inexperienced, and her voting record is less conservative than Liz Cheney. Let that sink in.

I really dislike the philosophy of which woman, or what brown dude, or from what state a VP should be. I like the idea of Eric for VP. Does being his son exclude him from consideration? I’ve always liked Ben Carson, but not sure of him as VP. I think of him as intellectual and kind and gentle, but not as a fighter. Trump taught me what a fighter can do and, while it might be difficult for two alpha males to work as a team, with Trump’s age, we need to be prepared for the VP to actually move into the P position. May it never happen! But I still think we need a fighter as #2.

Carson is my first pick. First, I trust him. Second, no one is going to want to “off” Trump in favor of a, possibly more conservative, President Carson. Third, he will not be likely to want to run for president in 2028, clearing the way for a myriad of fascinating possibilities.

When you really can handle the heat and manage a dynamic, explosive, high pressure situation in which everything is blowing up around you fast and it could go very wrong very quickly and everything depends on you — you don’t need to prove it to anyone. You just do it, and after you have handled a few, you get quieter.
Anyone who has been there can see it, and those who can’t see it — well, they probably never will and they’re not worth bothering about. His quiet excellence might have been a hindrance to a mass popularity contest, but so what ? Not a player for the VP position.
Ben Carson wrote in his book and discussed frankly what it meant to him when his wife miscarried and he could not save his own children. That’s this Thing, and he is quietly open about it. I just read Roger Stone at Substack, where he recommends Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. for President Trump’s running mate. I’m with him on this.
President Trump has said “swamp them.” It’s the way to beat the cheat in this election. In order to do that, we need to work to split the Democratic Party and attract disaffected democrats to become Democrats for Trump. This is how the margin of victory can be unassailable. RFK, Jr. can do that job, if he would join us. We will be able to say that the unity ticket, the dream ticket, can put away forever the crass, Biden crowd that is wrecking this country.

But they can not attract real talent, the kind of leaders with gravitas. Those individuals search for truth, the popular litmus tests don’t describe them because they grow. Kennedy is one of those people, and it is surprising how he is showing in the polls.
I looked at the latest polling averages. As of Jan 21, 2024, Biden was at 35.5, Trump was at 38, Kennedy was at 16, and undecided was at 10 percent. How many republicans have split off from President Trump to give Kennedy 16 percent? I would say zero. He is splitting the Biden democrats and drawing independents. If Kennedy was at 5 or 8 percent then no go, but 16 is remarkable. Close this deal with Kennedy in time for the convention, and Biden would be finished, and no other democrat could step into the breach and hope to catch up.

I disagree with Dr. Carson’s assessment of DJT having good instincts when it comes to people by his last admin. The last person he needed to be guarding the gate to his office was his son-in-law…a left wing nut like his daughter.
