My instincts and preferences aside, here’s Dr. Ben Carson being asked directly about the possibility of him being President Trump’s running mate.

My instincts and preferences aside, here’s Dr. Ben Carson being asked directly about the possibility of him being President Trump’s running mate.
.
Appears to be a good consideration.
Lately, I’ve had an out-of-the box thought: Bernard Kerik. Don’t know why. Just popper in my head.
What he needs is a partner to watch his back. Use the guys with military and law enforcement backgrounds to clean up the mess. He is my pick for sure.
Absolutely!
They have to be loyal to Trump though. That should be the #1 criterion. We cannot take a chance getting another Sessions, Pence, Tillerson, Pompeo, …
“What he needs is a partner to watch his back.”
Yes! There’s one particular Secret Service body guard who’s face is so intense he scans the crowd like a computer. He’s like glue to President Trump and looks like he’s ready to take a bullet in a split-second. Hence, no need for replacement…ever!
Bongino then.
Kerik is a convicted felon. The Feds got him on something ridiculous and he pled guilty.
Was pardoned by Trump and played a big role at the beginning on the steal that the media ‘debunked’ but now is being proven correct.
I like the guy myself but the Democrats would have a field day going after Kerik.
Good point. Like I said, it just popped in my head out of nowhere.
Yes but who cares anymore? The DemoNazis & their MSM go after everyone who doesn’t sing their tune to their liking. They would go after Jesus Christ if He reincarnated again in the current time. So IMO that’s a non-issue.
Yep, exactly this^^.
Bernie Kerick for FBI Director. He’s a top cop by training and experience. IMO Kerik could clean out the overflowing sewer of the FBI and get it back to unbiased and constitutionally legal law enforcement.
Way too much baggage.
No more NY pols. Trump is tolerable being from NY because he’s NOT a pol.
Nice – many would give their eye teeth to be picked , as the saying goes – he would do it out of duty and respect and , yes , love for PDJT – but who knows ….
I can imagine Dr Ben Carson is not a poker player, I do know, however, I would not play high stakes against him.
He is a gifted pediatric neurosurgeon who has operated on infants in utero. I would say he is a very cool customer.
He’s too nice. Too mild mannered.
I actually have met a brain surgeon or two. They also were nice and too mild mannered. Haha, somehow, I don’t think there are very many brain surgeons who are hyper, wide-eyed yahoos.
You want someone with steady hands no matter what is going on when they are in your brain. He plays a high stakes game every time he uses a scapel in someone’s brain.
Robert Barnes has been saying that Trump will pick Carson to be his VP for quite some time now. Barnes usually turns out to be right.
He was about Amy Coney Barrett!
(::: rimshot :::)
Are people upset with Barrett just about this latest SCOTUS ruling? Because it’s only temporary. I’m not hating her for it. I just wish we could see the majority’s reasoning.
I think it was that the 5th Circuit could not grant the injunction. I tried to read the decision, but gave up. I think someone had argued only the Supreme Court could grant the injunction and the case was still working its way through the system and hadn’t got to the Supreme Court.
Personally, I think Amy C Barrett was a PLANT. IMO she is a liberal who was planted by McTurtle. Why do i think she is a liberal? How many conservatives adopt foreign children? I know of none. However, I know that libtard Mia Farrow did, as did Angelina Jolie. Just sayin’…
Most people do not adopt children period. Nor should they. Most orphaned children unless adopted at birth come from troubled homes. Adoption does not make the trauma they experience disappear. It takes a special grace to mother adopted children.
There are not enough American children given up for adoption. Abortion is easy and widely available in this country. This is not true in foreign countries. I would not dis someone just because they adopted a foreign child.
She’s been screwing us long before that.
We know that Obama is the marionette behind the walking cadaver pulling the strings on the Installed One. He will be replaced at some point – maybe out of desperation with Michelle. Plus even though I don’t believe any court case that includes indictments will actually happen prior to the election – we need to have our plans to counter this already in place.
Dr. Ben Carson counters that on all counts. He’s been devoted to Trump and I believe was the 1st candidate in 2016 to withdraw and endorse Trump. He has all the characteristics. Highly intelligent, calm, cool and collective when under fire. A man of God to solidify that base. Very popular with Independents. Excellent fund raiser. A Doctor who can take on C19 issues. And yes, they will call him Uncle-Tom or many other racist names but that will all be deflected back on his attackers exposing them as the real racists. He is the real Dr. Huxtable without ANY baggage. If for any reason Trump is eliminated (decides to take himself out of contention) Kristi Noem can be standing on deck to be Carson’s VP if needed.
NO to NOem. She’s a RINO.
My “gut” cries, NEVER!
noem has been a loyal trump supporter from the get go. you want a rino?….haley is the consummate bs artist and to top it off, she’s a liar.
Gossip is that Kristi Noem and Carey Luandowski have had moments of inappropriate closeness.
Elise Stefanik’s weight would likely disqualify her in Trump’s mind. As VP, she would be a reflection of him.
Stefanik gave birth to her only child, so far, on August 27th, 2021. It’s been 2 1/2 years and maybe she’s pregnant again? Every picture I see shows a trim Ms.Stefanik aside from the last couple of years and she seems very motivated so … weight wise … who knows?
She’s a NY pol. Nuff said. No.
In my opinion Obama isn’t smart enough to pull the strings. In fact, I think he was a puppet too. He and Brandon share the same puppeteers.
That’s my gut feeling as well.
Agreed! Obama has the hate, but he doesn’t have the smarts.
Valerie Jarret runs the Obamas and likely Biden through Jill.
Yes, I agree, he’s merely a frontman, no brains or sense whatsoever. One thing, though – I believe Obama is the channel through which the instructions flow from the America-destroyers to FJB – makes him look big and in control (he is the classic narcissist), but he wouldn’t pass gas without approval from his puppetmasters. And since he is a racist, marxist shill, he undoubtedly enjoys the role.
If Michelle were to be propped up to replace Joe, could she nominate Barack as her VP? Wondering.
Yes. I think so. The prohibition says you can’t be elected President more than two terms.
No, the VP has to be from another state.
That’s not the entire story on this issue…
US Constitution
Article II Section 1
“The Electors shall meet in their respective States, and vote by Ballot for two Persons, of whom one at least shall not be an Inhabitant of the same State with themselves.”
No prohibition against President and Vice Presidential candidates being from the same state
https://www.palmbeachpost.com/story/opinion/columns/2021/01/03/civics-project-no-prohibition-against-president-vp-candidates-same-state/4089264001/
A deeper dive…
No. Having served two terms he is not eligible.
She is hateful and polarizing. If you read what the black community has to say, you will know they hate her, and consider them both a big fat sell out filled with promises that turned into poison!
I pray you are right, Right to reply.
If the Moose is the nominate, I pray the majority of Americans will reject her outrightly.
With a bit of luck the CIA will take them out. Its what they usually do when something has served its purpose
Obamao can’t even spell RESPECT and he sees dead people.
He’s a puppet. If brains were dynamite that jug-eared fool couldn’t blow his nose.
“I’ve tried to retire twice, and it doesn’t work!”
Gonna stay in the trenches . . .
🤔
I would trust Dr. Carson with my life. Every day of the week.
Like many, I would like to see a pugilist who would carry on in 2028.
However, first we have to get to 2028, and that requires an incredibly faithful partner.
We also have to, of course, win 2024, and he would help immeasurably in that task.
Matt Rosendale
I really like Matt. Steadfast, smart, totally MAGA.
Many mothers and babies/children echo your sentiment.
I would as well.
there are some people that you can read easily….ben carson has that trustworthy factor.
noting: I am a bit concerned with his low energy in this interview. Maybe feeling unwell, but regardless he doesn’t seem to have bad habits. That means much to me.
Carson, like Trump, is not a career politician. Very important to Trump, I would think.
And twice on Sunday.
I think Carson is an excellent choice. Accomplished, loyal, discreet, and will attract voters who Trump does not already attract. Let’s not overlook that last point, Trump has great support already but he still needs to attract more voters to ensure that he can overcome the Democrat “margin of theft”. And you know the Democrats are going to try their hardest to steal the election again.
That reminds me, I need to find out where my local ballot counters will be stationed and then park right by their dumpster and do some diving if necessary.
I actually know a few Dems who were going to vote Carson for Prez back in 2016, if he was the R candidate.
People like that would be happy to vote for him as VP of Trump, I *think*.
You likely still have time to volunteer to be an election judge if your state does in person voting. You would need to do a simple training and be able to assist 12-14 hours on election day.
And hey at least Ben doesn;t mean tweet.. And he is soft spoken for all those
who get offended by PTrump rough talk..
Also, he is a great counter to Trump being led astray by the Pence health team.
I think Carson would be a better fit for Secretary of State.
Many choices for VP. Just don’t choose a General.
Rick Grenell should already be a lock for that.
Heard a rumor about Tucker Carlson as vp. Interesting thought. It actually is an extremely important decision this time around.
If elected I hope PDJT names Tucker press secretary.
Ha! Can you imagine?
Not sure he’s great at fielding questions/thinking on his feet.
He’s good at *asking* questions about topics he’s already thought thru.
Or Peter Doocy – he would drive the media bonkers!
Terrible VP choice.
Hate to be superficial about it, but I’m not gonna lie: That laugh is as bad as Kamala and Hillary’s cackle.
Plus, on the positive side, he’s got real strengths at the job he’s doing right now >>>> spreading the word on all sorts of important topics. IMO, he should just continue doing that, because he’s Very. Good. at it.
I love the laugh.
It reminds me of the movie
“Amedeos”
He could laugh at ridiculous questions. It would be great. I look forward to it.
Tucker: Yes, Jim Acosta-
Jim Acosta asks question.
Tucker laughs. Next question. Laughs again.
It’s not superficial. There is something about his laugh that rings off like he’s nervous or hiding some other feelings. Maybe its the timing. It does not happen most of the time. But the last couple of interviews I watched something sounded hollow. I did read somewhere shortly after Fox axed his show that there were emails in which he expressed dislike for Trump. Maybe he has had a change of heart since those emails.
I think he is sincere most of the time. He loves this country and he loves God and he is definitely not pro Democrat policies or pro Biden.
Would Tucker even want the job?
No Tucker is ideal where he is. Free of the constraints of DC and able to target the wrongs he sees.
YES!
Tucker could never be loyal to Trump. For that reason alone, no.
I agree, but would like to know why you think he could never be loyal to Trump?
I noticed a hard swallow about halfway through the video when Nigel asked if Ben would serve in some capacity if Donald Trump asked. When asked earlier if he was the VP pick, Ben barely reacted. Granted that’s just one instance, but it’s something I used to watch for when questioning people.
Ben’s swallow probably reflects how demanding the job would be of himself and his family in this environment. He is not a young man. If we can find a younger man that had similar ideals and management experience, that would be ideal. Ben’s a great choice.
Great little interview w/ Dr. Carson.
We like Ben a lot and in different circumstances we would love hm to be VP. General Mike Flynn is the only guy that can disassemble the deep state and the VP position gives him the weight and power to make that happen. Trump needs Flynn to do that because Trump doesn’t know how. We all love Trump, but he has his limitations too. That’s reality and anything else is pretending. keep that in mind because this may be the only shot at disassembling the deep state that we get.
I like Flynn a lot for VP.
As do I. He knows where the bodies are buried and could take on the dirty work of destroying the deep state, curtailing the administrative state, cleaning out and restoring the military, burying the NGO’s and so-called charitable institutions bound and determined to destroy is, and helping the revitalized DOJ in bringing criminals and election fraudsters to trial. That would leave Trump to deal with such things as economic, cultural, and international issues.
that’s a big plate for a vp.
The “electorate” may not feel as you do, unfortunately. Flynn would be best served as DNI or other Federal chief.
I agree Rita. Flynn could do either job, but I don’t see him stepping into the presidency after being VP. I’d like someone younger for VP. The VP does not have to manage the disassembly. Trump can appoint anyone to assist and lead that charge. Trump’s best bet is to have someone with excellent knowledge of each department and task them with the culling of that department. Spread the joy and the backlash.
I’m not sure about Flynn. I just don’t see him as a President if something happens to Trump.
But your principle of hiring a VP whose central job is to go on a search and destroy mission is very important.
He’ll need to understand how the silos are set up, how to cross-cut the silos, and how to quickly call “b.s.!” when he’s getting slow rolled. The VP has no actual duties, so put him in charge on a Trump-appointed National Reconciliation Commission whose job is to deliver the hammer but make it sound like reconciliation.
Much as I hate to say it, it probably needs to be somebody from inside Government who knows how to figure out where the bodies are buried. Congress. Courts. Bureaucracy. Media. Devin Nunes?
The advantage of Carson is maybe as VP he plays the role of Bob Mueller – the grandfatherly guy “in charge” but armed with 100 of the biggest a-hole prosecutors in America. He gives sober adult supervision (media persona) while the prosecutors pick up where John Durham was clearly ordered to stop.
Nunes would be excellent at that.
I agree. We/the world need the Trump train running at max speed for at least the next 12+ years. General Flynn is my choice. I hope Colonel Macgregor will be in President Trump’s inter circle as well. Jesse Watters for press secretary, but he’d have to take a drastic pay cut.
Colonel MacGregor’s judgement is not to be trusted.
mcgregor is a nut job.
Disagree. He’s been right on the money about Ukraine since the beginning and now Gaza. A voice of reason and common sense. I’m somewhat surprised anyone would post a negative comment about him.
His analysis after the fact is quite good. But he’s wrong for VP.
Jesse Watters is all wrong.
We might like Flynn but everyone else hates him. He will turn off too many voters. Let him be an appointee to a cabinet position.
VP has practically no authority. Originally, the VP was the person who finished 2nd in the Presidential race.
I would prefer to see LTGEN Flynn as President Trumps National security advisor. He really needs to have a man at his side when those “briefs” happen.
Good point.
I’m a big fan of the General, but one consideration is that he is also a Florida resident. PDJT needs those electors.
At 1:51, it sure looks like Dr. Carson says, “I’ll retire when I get to Heaven,” but they cut the sound. Am I crazy or did he say that?
Good catch!
Indeed, “I’ll retire when I get to Heaven.”
Shameful audio cut.
You are not crazy. He said it, and the sound dropped out.
IF Dr. Ben Carson had been VP on January 6, 2021, I don’t know exactly what he would have done, but I know that:
Candidate Odds (the lower the number, the better the odds)
Kristi Noem +350
Elsie Stefanik +400
Ben Carson +425
Vivek Ramaswamy +600
Tucker Carlson +900
https://www.covers.com/politics/us-election-vp-betting-odds
I would say the people driving these numbers aren’t thinking strategically. Tucker Carlson is a phenomenally bad choice. He has zero loyalty to Trump. I would say chances are the Ramaswamy doesn’t either.
“Loyalty” needs to be to the Constitution and the USA.
Loyalty to working to eliminate corruption, dishonest judges, political/unequal application of legal process, concentration of economic and political power, and to restore aspirational models/goals plus reward for hard work and acheivement.
Dr. Carson spoke at my daughter’s high school graduation ceremony in 1994. He gave a very inspiring speech.
He is inspiring! I watched him during the 2016 primaries and I was not a Trump supporter at that time – I didn’t know enough about him or how he would be as President. I really wanted to vote for Carson though.
Do you remember how the media ridiculed Dr. Carson for looking “sleepy” or something like that during one of the debates?
At one time I thought they were trying to make a “stepin’ fetchit” type of smear in a very subtle way. They were despicable.
I think President Trump could really trust a VP Carson.
well that seals the deal then.
In another interview with Maria Bartiromo….
—
Dr. Ben Carson Responds On Whether He Will Be Trump’s VP (VIDEO)
Excerpt:
Fox News host Maria Bartiromo invited Carson on her show and asked the former HUD Secretary, “Has President Trump contacted you to be his VP?”
Carson responded, “I don’t want to talk about what we’ve talked about, but we’ve talked about what we can do to save this country and that we will work together to make sure that America remains America.”
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2024/01/dr-ben-carson-responds-whether-he-will-be/
He’s giving *excellent* interviews about this, in all I’ve seen.
Personally, I think he’s gonna be VP. But we’ll see what happens.
I love how he’s discreet and he has a poker face when asked these questions. 🙂
Me too!
It’s he perfect response.
“We’ll see what happens.”
God willing.
Dr Carson is a proven defender of the heart and soul of America and should be considered a possibility if not a strong probability for VP.There is no greater loyalist to President Trump or the cause.
When Sundance first suggested Ben Carson I wasn’t sure I thought he would be the best choice.
I was thinking we needed someone as strong and tough as Trump. I don’t want someone the media can roll right over or destroy.
However, I love and respect Ben Carson and would be fine if he were the choice.
In lieu of recent rumors that dems are going to stir up the black community for political purposes in the election..I do see how Carson as VP with his calm personality and connection to the black community could be a solid asset for the Trump campaign
Much as I hate identity politics, illegals and trannies have created a big problem for Democrats. Carson is the kind of person who can look at people and say “This madness doesn’t end until you decide you love your kids more than you love Democrats.”
But don’t underestimate the ability of Democrats to Uncle Tom him.
Think Dr. Carson is better than most at demonstrating the principle of “I’m rubber and you’re glue, Everything you say bounces off me and sticks to you.”
I’m not worried about that -at all!
Almost feel sorry for anybody who tries. haha.
I really liked his assistant, Lynne Patton, who was Trump’s employee first. She had that awesome video she made to endorse Trump, and fend off the racism accusations.
They took Dr. Carson’s name off of the Detroit elementary school, a year or so, ago. Purely out of spite, and nothing else…well except stupidity, of course.
Gawd. What complete idiots.
Went from Hero to Zero because of these fools at Public Schools.
you’re a poet.
carson or noem. they need both blacks and white women but they’re probably more apt to get some black votes than white women votes.
By that reasoning we should pick a stupid vapid individual to garner the stupid vapid votes. How about Taylor Swift?
Stupidity is rampant.
When Trump is President maybe he can rename one of the nicest streets in DC to “Dr Benjamin Carson Ave”
haha!!! I love that idea!!
Better yet, Why stop at D.C.?? Get a few of those ’round the country. haha.
Trump needs a running mate who has no interest in pursuing the presidency after he leaves office in 2029 and someone who will have his back. Dr. Carson would be one of the few to fit the bill. Maybe General Flynn too.
Actually, it’s just the opposite President Trump needs.
Historically the VP is the front runner for the next election. He/She now has political cachet having been a heartbeat away from the job.
We also need someone that has not been a professional politician their entire career.
How do you give someone without much previous political experience, gravitas?
Make them VP in a successful Presidential tenure.
Historically the VP is the front runner for the next election
I think that’s not true. Go back through all of the prior VPs. List them here with whether or not they ran for President and whether or not they went very far. Pence dropped out before the primaries.
Dick Cheney didn’t run for President after Bush.
He would have been running for re-election since he had been in charge all along….
I believe President Trump will choose a strong Vice President who will prioritize American exceptionalism, non-interventionism, and American nationalism. President Trump’s next VP must be capable of serving for 12 years (4 years as VP and possibly 8 years as POTUS). My top three picks for the position are Donald J. Trump Jr., Devin Nunes, and Tucker Carlson. It’s highly unlikely that the person selected will have prior experience working in the government. I’m willing to bet a dollar to doughnuts on it.
You may have lost your donuts at the starting gate? – Former Congressman Nunes was in Congress for like 20 years – qualifies as prior experience ..
i ‘m not impressed with your three picks. all good people but that’s not the issue. trump needs blacks, white females and someone conservative to the core. you just picked three white guys, another trump with a smart ass mouth, a former democrat and a two decades congresscritter.
If we have Carson for VP, Trump can hand off to Don Junior.
Dr. Carson is the only choice in my mind.
Of all of these candidates just try to think to yourselves; “What would that person be like for a GOP president for 8 years after Trump?”
To me, they all fail on that supposition. They are too fake or too swampy.
Dr. Carson is true, real, honest but doesn’t take ANY guff from media or Democrats. He just shoots them down in a firm and nice way.
As a Brain Surgeon, it is really difficult for people to criticize him legitimately.
Also, proven to be 100% #MAGA and there are very few who can say that.
Dr. Carson is gets my enthusiastic vote. Tucker does the most good where he’s at, as will Kari Lake (if she gets into the Senate). Vivek and Noem seem too opportunistic to be above suspicion. Stefanik might be good, but I’ll pass on giving her a thumbs up for now. All others……..MEH!
Everyone, Ie: “the media” is just speculating at this point. Trump will release this information when it needs to be released, and not a minute sooner. My bet it will not be till after the primaries.
Not all are merely speculating.
Many are asserting PDJT will pick someone we absolutely hate and distrust, many stories dedicated to such.
Psyops, striving to cause us to distrust Trump, suggesting he cannot be trusted and suppressing his support.
True on the pysops. This week PravdaUSA claimed that PDJT is picking RFK Jr.
My thoughts about Trump VP pick….
it will be someone from his inner circle, someone he trusts.
I’d be quite happy with Dr Carson. Wish he were a bit younger but Trump/Carson could get a lot done in 4 years – especially if we could get rid of the China turtle.
There’s a ruthlessness that is going to be needed next Fall after the election that is going to be hard to find.
Would Ben Carson head up a COVID commission to release data and get to the bottom of what Fauci, the FDA, CDC, and drug companies were doing before, during, and after COVID. Make it all public. Then refer people to DOJ for prosecution for (among other things) lying to Congress and the public?
Or, lead a team tasked with investigating and arresting the various Lawfare operatives?
Dr Carson isn’t a politician so I think he’d be more likely to lay out the truth and consequences than someone who had spent their career scratching the backs of their fellow DC thieves. It’s really hard to trust anyone in and of DC these days with all the opportunists, thieves and crooks of another nature. Dr Carson can’t be blackmailed I’m sure. He’s a good choice for so many reasons.
If not VP then I think Carson should be the HHS secretary he is a
doctor after all so he certainly would be qualified to run Health
and Human Services and deal with the CDC and FDA..
McC’s term is up in ’25/’26 (?)
I think a very good vice president for Donald Trump would be Mark Robinson, lieutenant governor of North Carolina.
I like him. But I think his time for that is not yet, and he is direly needed in NC.
They need him as Gov.
Has Robinson proven himself to be loyal to Trump?
Methinks it’s safe to say it won’t be a white male, although there are at least 2 highly qualified MAGA types available.
There are plenty of great positions to be filled. Any MAGA person who isn’t VP can be DNI, FBI Director, CIA Director, Secretary of State, Attorney General, etc.
A man of great thinking and that great thinking has him knowing beyond all the political B.S. that Trump was and will be again a great President for this country…And you have to love his loyality to Trump, but again it’s not blind loyality, he knows Trump for who he is, a lover of America and not a slimeball politician and that’s enough for Ben…God love them both.
Fine. But Flynn needs to be the executioner of the deep state. Push all agencies outside Washington DC
Let Flynn head the FBI or CIA.
I love Dr. Ben Carson. He seems to be one of the very few honest men alive in the political orbit.
I don’t know what role God has for him, but it’s worthy of prayer.
I hope with all my heart it’s Ben Carson.
I give the probability of Carson being VP as zero. Doesn’t matter anyway, they’ll just cheat again to prevent Trump from winning.
To presume omnipotence is to grant omnipotence.
We won in 2016, we can win again. It helps a lot that it’s not a pandemic year.
Yet.
Great example of fatalism.
Interesting. My husband and I heard him speak back in November. He was asked about serving in a Trump administration. At that time he said he had great respect for Donald Trump and supported his candidacy but was not interested in returning to DC himself. So his answer has changed.
In 2016 he said he didn’t want an appointed position in Trump’s administration. Obviously his mind can be changed. 🙂
He is the perfect choice. I only had 3 qualifications: No politician, loyal to Trump and MAGA, and a person of faith. BC is the total package.
Carson would be an excellent choice. No conflicts with MAGA. A true conservative. Accomplished. Articulate. Reserved. A steady hand for the till going forward from President Trump in 2028. And incredibly trustworthy.
Well stated. He could be the nominee for ‘28. But that is a long way off.
A deep bench with Ben being the smartest. A serious, Godly man, with experience in all things Trump. He is my only pick. Any other is flipping a coin from the bench.
I like Ben and he would be good. But I think it will be Kari.
I love Kari Lake but she is unlikely to draw in voters who don’t already support Trump. If she doesn’t win her Senate race he can appoint her to a position in his administration. Maybe she could be Press Secretary. Her voice is like high quality butter. 🙂
i hope not. she’s a show boat. too much make-up. too tight fitting clothes. i realize she fits trumps style but that’s not what i want to see in a vp. i would prefer sarah sanders over lake but neither really. chrisite noem seems right although there goes the black vote.
I have heard Sarah soft-pedal her supposed support for PDJT down to a very low level. This happened a couple of years back when there wasn’t election year spotlight.
But Kari is with him 100% – no equivocation whatsoever.
Trump needs to select another Conservative Fighter with whom he is in very close sync; someone who can work with him on an agenda extending into the next administration and beyond. The Democrats have done HORRENDOUS DAMAGE to this country and its hallowed institutions; damage that he, alone, will not be able to reverse in just four years. He needs to plan for a two-term presidency with a running mate of a like mind and the cajones to carry that agenda forward.
As Jerry Reed so famously sang: “We’ve a long way to go and a short time to get there.”
I have heard that the RNC has some control on a Presidental VP pick. I don’t personally know. Perhaps some of the more knowledgeable commenters on this site have the answer.
I have heard that they think they do.
https://www.polyas.com/election-glossary/us-vice-president
“Selection of the Vice President
Potential US Vice Presidents must fulfill the following criteria by being:
a natural born US citizen
at least 35 years old
a US resident for at least the previous 14 years
Other than this, vice presidential candidates don’t require any special qualifications. In practice, however, most candidates have served in Congress, and some have been high ranking military officers or state Governors.
Vice presidential
candidates run together with presidential candidates in an election on a “joint ticket” as a “running mate”.
This means that once the vice presidential candidate for each party has been confirmed, voters are then essentially selecting the President and Vice President as a single package.
In theory, vice presidential candidates are selected at National Conventions by the party as a whole once the Presidential candidate has been announced.
In reality, however, standard practice has been that Presidential candidates effectively choose their own running mates.”
Fwiw
What would be your dream Trump Cabinet?
VP -Byron Daniels
State – ?
AG – Rudy Giuliani
SecDef – General Flynn
Treasury – Rand Paul
Interior – Sarah Palin
Agriculture – Kat Cammack
Commerce – Vivek Ramaswamy
Labor – Matt Gaetz
Health & Human Services – Dr Ben Carson
Energy – Darren Woods
Education – eliminate
HUD – eliminate
That’s all I can come up with.
Byron Daniels is also a Florida resident. I think that’s 27 electors to forfeit…
Secretary of State – Rick Grennell
UN Ambassador – Roseanne Barr
If Sarah Palin refused the job than The Great Gonzo, Ted Nugent, for Secretary of the Interior.
Thought we hoped to eliminate the UN also, or at least our role in it?
Roseanne would be a natural in helping end our involvement in the UN!
Seb Gorka said the VP will be a New York Republican!
Not Carson. He’s not ruthless enough. Trump needs a warrior as #2. From this this interview, he’s not a warrior. He looks like he’s embalmed.
Exactly! Carson is much too nice.
Everyone touts BC’s honesty and integrity, including me.
Either BC was lieing, (VERY unlikely!) or PDJT hasn’t discussed with “his pick” that he IS “his pick” (VERY unlikely!) OR its NOT going to be BC for VP.
Sorry, Sundance move on.
I have an off topic question for Mr. Dutchman. What is going on right now in the Arizona State Republican Party organization?
Can you please give us your assessment of what the new state GOP chairman is up against in her efforts to bring order out of the chaos that apparently grips the Arizona state-level GOP apparatus?
Does she have any hope of uniting Arizona Republicans — to the extent they can be, at least — and also getting enough financial and volunteer support to win in the fall?
I’d love to see Vivek as press secretary. It would be fun again to tune in.
I’d like to know who is on the list tho for VP.
Kari Lake could make a good challenge to big Mike.
Bigly
Like I’ve said before, Ben is too nice a guy. You have to be a bit of a prick to make it in this political atmosphere.
He’s already “made it in this political atmosphere”.
He was Director of HUD.
My position on VP choices is that they can very seldom help you and most often hurt you.
But you have to choose someone.
So the choice should be held back as long as possible until most people have made up their minds and can self-rationalize why they support the choice.
I like Dr. Ben. I truly do. But I don’t believe that he has the fire that we need to win in 2024.
The VP needs to be his insurance policy …. Someone that is EXTREMELY MAGA, someone the uniparty would NOT want to see as President if they should try to remove President Trump by impeachment or worse.
Like Harris is for Biden.
