Saddam also could not admit that he was (temporarily) stopping his WMD. Afraid his neighbors would take advantage of their absence. He also used his ‘having’ WMD as internal control over his Generals. Each was told that they weren’t trusted, but others were.
Amazing the web of lies that our intelligence had to penetrate to be able to figure out if he had them.
Speaking of Western intelligence, they had decided that they had taken care of all Saddam’s WMD, then Scott Ritter and his crew discovered a huge biological WMD program that Saddam had never admitted, lying about it the whole time. From then on, the West was convinced nothing would stop Saddam’s drive for WMD, and that he would always lie and claim he had none. That is what ‘W’ inherited when he became President. The Biden administration backs the modernization of Turkey’s F-16 fleet but it recognizes that the U.S. Congress has a significant role to play in this regard, the State Department said Wednesday.
When asked on Wednesday if the State Department would send the formal notification for the jets once Sweden’s NATO process is fully formalized, Deputy spokesperson Vedant Patel did not commit to a timeline.
“President Biden, Secretary Blinken have been very clear of our support for modernizing Turkey’s F-16 fleet, which we view as a key investment in NATO interoperability.
But beyond that, we also recognize that Congress has a key role in reviewing arms sales, but I’m just not going to confirm or get ahead of proposed defense sales or transfers until they are formally notified to Congress.”
Patel told reporters that the U.S. also welcomed the ratification of Sweden’s NATO bid by the Turkish Parliament but said the process is not yet complete. He added that Washington looks forward to receiving Turkey’s instrument of ratification and Hungary moving along in the process as well.
As Turkey has cleared the long-delayed path for Sweden’s bid to join NATO, eyes have now turned toward the U.S.’ prolonged approval of sales of F-16 fighter jets, which has been linked to Ankara’s approval of Stockholm’s application to join the military bloc.
The Turkish Parliament ratified Sweden’s NATO membership bid on Tuesday, clearing the biggest remaining hurdle to expand the Western alliance after 20 months of delay.
U.S. President Joe Biden’s administration has repeatedly backed the deal and promised to move forward with the $20-billion sale.
It never formally tied the sale of the F-16s to Turkey’s ratification of Sweden’s NATO application. However, some key members of Congress had said they would not support the sale unless and until Turkey signs off on Sweden’s accession to the alliance.

Frustrated by the prolonged process of its request to acquire F-16s, Turkey has begun discussions to buy Eurofighters, produced by a consortium involving Germany, Spain, Italy and the United Kingdom.
Turkey announced in November it was in talks with Britain and Spain to buy 40 Eurofighter jets, though Germany has objected to the idea. Ankara has been urging Germany to align with the NATO spirit.

Billionaire Reid Hoffman is not planning to give any more money to Nikki Haley’s candidacy for president, according to a source familiar with the matter.

Of course all the Evergrande Securities are worthless but the Hedge Funds and Crypto companies are also set to be exposed. This will be a new twist. Last time something like this happened was 1998 ish with Long Term Capital Management, and we never knew who had the real exposure. In fact, I think upcoming resulting market turmoil will be worse because of the improper way regulators handled LTCM 25 years ago. That inaction just made the Evergrande snowball that much bigger.

I am for showing an I.D., in-person only voting unless those who request an absentee ballot are bed-ridden with a certified note by their doctor. Many other countries vote IN PERSON and the United States used to vote in person with results reported within 24 hours of polls closing, instead of weeks and months later.

The WHO pandemic treaty?
The chief at the World Health Organization recently said at the World Economic Forum that countries should sign up to their pandemic treaty to prepare for “Disease X”. Of what and geological origin?
The pandemic treaty is about an agreement that the WHO is working on which would essentially hand them powers in the case of a new pandemic. The WHO has been working on this pandemic treaty for several years, and the plan is that almost all countries of the world should sign up by this year.
They would get powers like deciding to implement lockdowns, introduce vaccine passports, quarantines and even to CENSOR things that the WHO deems to be “misinformation”.
At the WEF they held a meeting called “Preparing for Disease X”, warning that this new unknown diesease could be 20 times more deadly than Covid.
But now it’s in jeopardy.
The pandemic treaty is now at risk of falling apart because of “misinformation” with the chief at the WHO warning that “future generations may not forgive us” if we don’t all jump on board and sign the agreement, which will hand over power from sovereign countries to a bunch of un-elected elites at the WHO.
Surprise that the WHO is complaining that “a torrent of fake news, lies, and conspiracy theories” is the reason that the pandemic treaty is at risk of falling apart?
