Yesterday an audio recording of Arizona GOP Chairman Jeff Dewit was released that shows him attempting to bribe and coerce Republican Senate candidate Kari Lake into backing away from the contest. Today, Jeff Dewit has resigned. [Letter Source]
I am not providing opinion or commentary on the claims within the letter, in part because I am just like you… an observer to a very serious story that is still unfolding.

It’s clear from DeWitless’ response to the scandal that he remains an immoral coward. These types of corrupt apparatchiks will not reform themselves and must be removed from any position of power or influence.
It is easy to read between the lines in his letter. He resigned because Lake threatened to reveal a more disastrous recording that includes his mentioning the names of “the people back east,” and that would surely ruin him and, perhaps, worse.
Moreover, his presumption that she could be successfully bribed is personally and professionally disrespectful to her and an egregious insult to her moral character. Karma is flashing a beautiful smile.
Is Lake has that recording of who these people were ,she has to release it or is she using this as her ACE in the Hole for later. I hope she has told Trump who they are.
Naming “the people back east” is the only thing that can save him from having to look over his shoulder for the rest of his life.

I read his letter as I was listening to the recording playing in another window. Whether he was set up or not, it doesn’t sound “selectively edited” and I believe his intentions are clear. As for Lake, if she orchestrated this then good on her for exposing these corrupt fakers.
