Yesterday an audio recording of Arizona GOP Chairman Jeff Dewit was released that shows him attempting to bribe and coerce Republican Senate candidate Kari Lake into backing away from the contest. Today, Jeff Dewit has resigned. [Letter Source]
I am not providing opinion or commentary on the claims within the letter, in part because I am just like you… an observer to a very serious story that is still unfolding.

There was at least one person with a pair of balls in that exchange. How corrupt that POS is. He is right that she probably played up her stance against them for dramatic effect. Only because she knew she would refuse yet another tempting offer. If she has other recordings he admits to then she deserves a hero’s reward and welcome.

Our government is not salvageable. We may not be able to vote our way out of this but in some way, it must be replaced and those responsible for the theft and destruction brought to justice, including those in justice.

In what context could that conversation have been anything other than what it clearly is? He tells her, plain as day, quit the Senate race and wait 2 years. We’ll get you a nice cushy high-paying job on a corporate board or maybe a cable network show.
And he begins with “This conversation never happened” then goes on to say that if word of it gets out it will destroy the GOPe ability to do it in the future, and will hurt their ability to raise money from certain big donors.
He even admits that raising money “to win” is the motive. Exactly as Sundance said: The GOP wants money. The Democrats want power.
I just heard her say something like “they’ll want me to distance myself from Trump, so I’ll say they need to distance themselves from DeSantis”. I might have the quote wrong and I don’t want to check it yet while this Rumble event is going on. But are the same people who wanted her to drop out the DeSantis backers????
She related another person had offered to donate a million to her campaign but then tried to add provisos that would have her completely cold-shoulder Trump and MAGA, including the genius MAGA-slate she had assembled and was sweeping into office with her.
She noted she does not know who the folks Back East were, but observed that it would be a very long list of potential conspirators.

“DeSantis backers” are not fans of DeSantis, he was their chosen vehicle to stop Trump and preserve their power … until he wasn’t. DeSantis is a decepticon, just like Nikki Hayley.

The more I listen to this recording the more creeped out I am that DeWit just would not give up. Lake gave him no encouragement whatsoever but he kept pushing her to accept the bribe. And he has the audacity to write about “integrity” in his resignation letter. Even more sickening: the political world is FULL of DeWits, and worse.
Maybe you all knew this earlier but Lake said during her Rumble again that she watched the video. It’s not just an audio recording, it’s video. Smile Jeff DeWit, you’re on camera!
I think the video she is referring to is her appearance at the CPAC conference in March last year where she bought it up for the first time, in fact she was preparing to go to the conference when DeWit wanted to speak to her in person.

Something disturbing besides the BRIBERY, about DeWitt’s speech during that recording. He spoke very hurriedly in fact, and so fast that the was often inaudible. He was very very nervous. I started to think he might be on drugs. He spoke of the cartels being in all fifty states. That was off topic and seemed like a warning or scare tactic or was said because they are who he fears the most. Is he somehow connected to them? Is it really “back east” actors doing the bribery or AZ cartel actors? All I can say is he IS not only in a mess, He is a mess!!

One of the reasons “lost” the State of AZ was BECAUSE of the AZ RINO’s in key positions and the corrupt Maricopa County where they did nothing about the election fraud.
An email from Dr Kelli Ward in AZ indicates that DeWit virtually ran the state party’s finances and capabilities into the ground, violating many party rules to do so. Is this of a part with the stories coming out about Michigan’s GOP being run by a team of charlatans led by an actual Democrat to destroy the party? The house cleaning this pathetic party needs is beyond epic, it may require flamethrowers.

Today, the AZGOP Chair issued a resignation statement due in part to a recently released audio tape of a conversation between he and Kari Lake.
In his resignation, he states that when he took the helm of the AZGOP “our party was in disarray – financially unstable, organizationally weak and lacking in momentum.”
This is gaslighting at best. When our team turned over the gavel to Jeff, the party was in outstanding shape – financially stable, organizationally strong, and carrying huge momentum!
Facts:
1. DeWit was left with 3 months or more of operating expenses plus hundreds of thousands of dollars in proceeds from the sale of the old AZGOP HQ that had a myriad of problems associated with it.
2. Our team built one of the most robust state-party digital and mail fundraising programs ever, drawing donors from throughout the nation.
3. Our team had a strong and growing major donor program in place and I made thousands of fundraising calls during my four years as Chairwoman.
4. Jeff canceled the mail fundraising vendor that had been in place long before I became chair in January 2019.
5. Jeff canceled the digital fundraising program that had brought in more small-dollar donors than the state party had ever seen.
6. Jeff made no visible effort to fundraise aggressively until the party was nearly out of money. We are all still in the dark about those efforts other than what the AZGOP puts out in their very limited communication with the state committee.
7. Jeff and his team put the party in debt by purchasing a building without first fundraising via a capital campaign which the prior AZGOP executive committee mandated.
It is a shame that DeWit is leaving the party in the shape that it is in. I had high hopes for his success in leading the party to victory. Now it will be very difficult for any new chair to repair the damage he and his team, including toxic treasurer Elijah Norton, have done to the party. The turnaround has to be immediate and we only have the next 10 months. The next chair has his/her work cut out for them as they have been set up to be blamed for any shortcomings the party may have in 2024. That being said, I stand ready to assist the new chair in any way that I can to support our candidates running for Legislature, Congress, Senate, and, of course, to rally behind President Trump.
