There is zero doubt, none, that South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem is positioning herself on the short list for President Trump’s Vice-President or a very senior level role in the next Trump administration. Noem is currently campaigning in Iowa as a surrogate for Donald Trump.
In this CBS interview with Major Garrett, Governor Noem explains why she supports Donald Trump and gives specific reasons why Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley will not win in Iowa, New Hampshire or South Carolina. WATCH (prompted):
Noem is strong in many aspects; however, her previous positions on immigration in combination with the influence of the Koch crew send big warning flares. A very strong argument can be made that Koch is in the background with subtle assists for Noem in order to position an insurance policy against President Trump’s success. It’s a challenging perspective to keep at the forefront because the articulate South Dakota governor is easy to like, but prudent caution with Noem is warranted.
Noem’s remarks about Nikki Haley are spot-on, and Noem’s political value in confronting Haley cannot be overstated. It is very wise to leverage Kristi Noem as the lead person against the efforts by those in the professional UniParty who are trying to position Nikki Haley.
She did a good job on that interview. He kept trying to trip her up but she didn’t let him.
Almost all of these politicians were initially easy to like (including Ms. Noem). They sound so sincere. Then you start checking who is financing them, or who they are affiliated with, or that one little NWO piece of legislation they supported.
I don’t trust any of them. Good luck finding any VP choice who is a current office holder that isn’t corrupt.
What about Mark Robinson of North Carolina? He seems like the real deal.
What do I know?
You can’t have Mark Robinson. When he is elected Governor of NC, North Carolina will be the beacon of a Constitutional Republic State, in the US. With Lt. Governor Robinson as Governor and Rep. Dan Bishop as AG, we have the strongest MAGA state in the US.
Governor Noem, is going to be the VP pick. She may be our first woman President, 4 years from now. She is based in Common sense, Family and country first. She cares about human beings. She will help unite this country.
Like every politician, there are always differences, but loyalty to country is the most important.
Personally I want someone who can clearly explain policy, Governor Kristi Noem will help President Trump over the top.
She’s nothing more than an Anger Mgr, like to a T, w the payoff come Nov 2024 if Trump falls for her bs
Compare Kristi Noem to Nikki Haley. No contest. Trump doesn’t fall for anybody’s BS but his own. Gov. Noem has been loyal to the President, that matters. She is not stupid, and she doesn’t change her mind.
How about Byron Donalds?
Byron is a great guy. But he is a Southern boy. Trump has us locked up.
Kristi will bring the Western deplorables. Between us, we occupy 85% of the dirt in our country. I wanted Byron to be speaker, and still do.
No sir. Robinson has very serious issues with his family business that is deeply enriched by welfare funds and he has back taxes that arent paid either. Also, as Lt Governor of NC, he has done or said little about a lot of key liberal issues and he has not ever exerted his Lt Gov powers against the rino’s that lead the NC General Assembly. Robinson would be a hard ‘NO’ .
Well, let’s just give up and crawl in a hole. No one is perfect including you. Something for you to think about.
Not a good comment. LG DID ‘qualify’ by stating “who is a current office holder”. LG did NOT state she/he was disqualifying EVERYBODY, and was accurate in confirming we have been sorely disappointed by candidates so far.
I fail to see what holding office has to do with any of them. In my state of Indiana, we have a guy running for Governor who has never held elected office, is claiming to be an “outsider”, yet is an insider’s insider. ANYONE who seeks political office should be viewed with a clear eye. The truly altruistic rarely seek powerful offices.
One hopes that your blanket statement of suspicion excludes Donald Trump.
Agreed. She sounds mealy mouthed to me and looks it with that incessant head bobbing . What would a body language expert have to say about that ?
She looks to me like that girlfriend of Hugh Hefner’s, I forget her name.
Barbie Benton! She was a hottie!
So many of the comments here appear to ignore that 47 will have only 4 years to dig the deep state out and put in place sufficient roadblocks to prevent it from ever rising again. I seriously doubt even DJT can finish that absolutely essential job in the short time he will have.
SD addressed it to an extent but it’s seems like it was a ‘whoosh’ moment for some.
As important to the future of this country as electing DJT as the 47th POTUS is, it’s even more critical that his successor has the skill, the temperament, and the cojones to finish what 47 began.
Noem lost me on the trans vote, apology not accepted.
Lake has the temperament and the cojones but I don’t see the skills.
Carson is Maga, has the skills and maybe the temperament but I don’t see the cohones.
Stefanik is MAGA, has the cojones and the temperament …but I will never vote for ANY lifelong politician as POTUS again.
MAGA, management skills, temperament to take a beating and keep on coming, and the cojones to speak the truth to millions who don’t want to hear it.
Nothing else matters. The VP will almost certainly will be 48 ’28-36 …8 years that will every bit as important to our future as DJT is.
We get one shot to get it right.
If PDJT deems Kari to have the talent, I trust him to teach her the skills.
No one on the planet has his skills, but a loyal smart understudy can be prepared by the Master of Apprenticeship.
Agree it’s about succession, but it’s also about political and literal life insurance too.
CARRY ON
KARI 2028
I’ve been wondering about the possibility of Trump as the 2028 VP to whoever he chooses for 24.
I don’t believe that’s possible.
Nor necessary.
He’d be a Kingmaker for all his days.
Don Jr in ’28.
Eric is the steady hand PDJT trusts to run his businesses.
Frankly, Don Jr, much as I might like him, worries me with his fiancee whose stability I do not trust.
I think maybe PDJT knows his sons.
What might that have to do with our observations?
He hasn’t weighed in on such a topic, ever, so whose contradicting or dictating what he should believe of his own sons?
Junior inherited PDJT’s showmanship, Eric inherited PDJT’s business acumen. Even with that, “No!” to political dynasties.
Maybe, but I would prefer not to build a political dynasty, even a MAGA Trump dynasty.
Hopefully with the Senate and House. Last time was an absolute nightmare.
Disagree. Trump has just stated he doesn’t think the VP slot is that important. At least as far as winning the election goes. He can’t slay all the beasts that exist now and at the same time be preoccupied with choosing a VP who can slay the beasts that remain after he’s gone. Too many unknowns and unpredictables. Sufficient unto the day.
How about Kari Lake for President in 2028 and Donald Trump as Chief Advisor?
I don’t mean her being a puppet like Joe is, with the puppet masters hiding in the shadows. Lake has shown that she is a smart cookie and can think and act for herself.
I mean him being a public face to take some of the heat off of her while he guides and advises her.
I know some people think Trump should be a behind-the-scenes kingmaker, ala Obama, but I don’t see that as Trump’s style. He will be as outspoken after his 2024 term as he is now.
If Kari serves as his VP she will be well trained to take the reins.
Agree President Trump would be her close advisor, and a not silent voice to support her.
I don’t agree the BlightBringer is a kingmaker, he is a subversive with tentacles well dug into our institutions, he is not an open reigning and guiding President Emeritus dispensing wisdom, he is dispensing poison straight from the pits of hell.
BlightBringer – that’s a good one! Fits him to a T.
Not talked about much (more significant than VP IMO) is the fact he will need supportive majorities in the House and Senate in order to gut agencies. There are all kinds of Congresstional Acts, holding these agencies up, needing repeal/replacement. If he acts solely on Exec Orders, the DS will tie him up in the courts and severely limit his potential.
And just reverse the E-O’s when the next pres comes in… as happened in 2020.
“So many of the comments here appear to ignore that 47 will have only 4 years to dig the deep state out and put in place sufficient roadblocks to prevent it from ever rising again. I seriously doubt even DJT can finish that absolutely essential job in the short time he will have.”
I beg to disagree. It looks to me like they are laying the groundwork now and will eject the vast majority of the deep state and all the most critical actors in the first few months. The balance of the administrative state (versus deep) will still be a problem for a time, but not a huge problem with the right leaders at the top of each administrative department.
Trump’s VP doesn’t have to be the next Trump. Right now there is no next Trump, you just described that in your comment. I want him to get elected, his VP has to bring more women into the fold, and the western part of the country.
The transgender issue was her strength. She wanted men out of women’s sports sports with offending trans people in general. That is exactly what she accomplished. Diplomacy at it’s best.
.
Great analysis of the players! Best i have read so far. IMHO, Carson does not have the temperament, he does not manage his own team and as POTUS that is the whole job. Stefanik comes from a less than MAGA district and has spent considerable time/effort straddling between a more liberal base and the MAGA head of the party. She’s very astute and has migrated more strongly to MAGA but she still leaves me doubting.
Agree they have to be MAGA, they have to have management skills and they have to be able to withstand the beating that they will experience.
If I remember correctly Noem vetoed a bill to prevent mentally ill transgender men from competing against women in sports in her state. She also did nothing when a politically connected corporation tried to steal thousands of acres of private farmland using eminent domain to construct a carbon sequestration pipeline. She seems like a typical big business first and the little people be damned kind of Republican. Not MAGA or populist at all.
“mentally ill transgender men” …is there such a thing as a transgender man who is not mentally ill?
Anger Mgr Noem, supposedly on the side of the people, throws them a bone every now and then for effect, but the status quo never really changes. We are THEM to her, Koch and cronies are US.
NO WAY She should be considered.
ABSOLUTELY NOT !!!
She speaks with forked tongue.
Whatever she thinks we want to hear,
Hell NO !
I don’t trust her. Matt Gaetz has proven to me that he’s 💯 MAGA and is young enough to keep it going another 8 years after PDJT.
Oh man you sure are brave making that comment on here.
Matt will never be Trump’s VP. Historically, a VP balances out the one heading the ticket, often it would be geographical. If you’re from the West, choose someone from the East, or if you need foreign policy credentials, choose someone strong in foreign policy (which is partly how Biden became Obama’s VP, as well as knowing the ways of DC since he has been around for a looong time). Trump chose Pence because of his time on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and he was a governor, so he had executive experience.
Trump is abysmally weak with women and has to pick one to be his VP. An extra percent in the voting booth may make the difference. Lake is too much like Trump – attack dog day and night. He needs someone with a measured tone and measured words. I will bet on Noem. She has an awesome back story. She also did not stay in the governor’s mansion – at least initially. She chose to live at her ranch when she became governor. I don’t know if that is still true.
I understand why Noem is disliked. I put her on my bad list with her vetoes of the transgender bill and a few others. She did explain herself. The NCAA had threatened to boycott the state and she said SD is a small state. A boycott would hurt many businesses and I’m not here to hurt them. She acknowledged Florida was a major state and had more clout than SD in leading the charge against the NCAA boycott threat.
Anyway, Trump is a pragmatist. Sometimes you have to do things to win and get in the door. Noem on the ticket won’t change any policy. It does give her a head start on the 2028 race. I would rather see her as the first female president than a hectoring, lecturing democrat in which you don’t want to turn on the TV for fear of a shrill shout down.
So your comment seems to indicate that your liberal women friends don’t like president Trump. So what? I am an American woman who loves President Trump and I know many others who also think the same way. You may know some things, maybe, but don’t speak for American women. The gall!
American women in parts of MN have turned away from republican and now are voting democrat. The hows and whys need a solution. They aren’t necessarily now liberal. I think they vote democrat because many are too easily influenced by alphabet media that all republicans are bad and that’s all they hear.
It may be a bit sexist but a younger good looking real man as VP might get a 2nd look from some women. Not Don Jr. Eric!
The comment about Trump being abysmally.weak with women is not an opinion: it’s a fact. If you follow politics even in the slightest, you know that Trump repels women. They loathe his personality, his brash way of saying things and how he mocks people. Women just do. I know plenty of republican women, who are as conservative as you are, who intensely dislike him, but vote for him since they understand policies, particularly pro life, is more important than someone’s personality. They love his accomplishments, but roll their eyes at his ego.
So, if you are an independent woman, living in the suburbs and you like a soothing voice with soothing words, Trump is not it for them. Most suburbs lurched a bit left in 2020 because women voted for Biden. Look it up, woman.
Well, here’s a suburban woman who has gotten a kick and a charge out of PDJT’s subtle wit and brash, blunt speech ever since I heard him (deservedly) trash the odiously supercilious Rosie O’Donnell.
I’ve listened to dozens of his rally speeches and he never fails to make me bust out laughing at something new he adds.
I am truly sorry for anyone who can’t see what a fine man he is.
“Historically, a VP balances out the one heading the ticket, often it would be geographical.”
President Trump doesn’t give a rat’s petunia about historical actions. That said, I agree Gaetz will not be his VP, but he could very well be Kari Lake’s VP in 2028 and that would be a very good thing as it would lock in ultra MAGA for the next 20 years and this should be the one and only objective.
Perhaps the other way around. Gaetz is brilliant. He thinks on his feet, is very well spoken, has a spine of steel and is a policy wonk. I realize Lake has never held office, so I would not expect her to talk policy the way Gaetz does. However, Lake does excel in talking in more broad terms about policies and its goals…I love Lake, but we need people like her in the senate. She would have made a great governor and her tenure would have been amazing. She would have torn every department apart, not in a destructive way, but making sure they are doing what they are supposed to be doing and getting rid of the wokeness and she would have shamed Biden on the border. Next time, I guess.
Major was More worried about the Birdbrain comment. She’s a class act and wouldn’t buy into it.
Major was trying to pigeonhole Noem. I’m very pleased that she was too smart to fall for his “trick” question. She may not be pleased that DJT has named Haley “birdbrain” but she was not going there. Good for Noem.
I’m sure all of us want P Trump to choose the best possible VP that would have a chance of running for POTUS in 2028 AND winning.
I believe Christi has the potential to fit that hope and possibly attract more women voters to the ticket. Gov. Noem is definitely the direct opposite of horrid VP Harris and would be an excellent choice. Pence was an absolute dud and even became a vicious enemy.
Kari Lake would also be a good pick for informed Trump followers but she is running for the Senate and lost in the AZ. Gubernatorial fiasco. There are others of course mentioned by others like Ben so we’ll see who PDJT chooses
It is NOT just the chance to run for POTUS in 28 and win. They must be MAGA in more than name, have already proven management skills, the temperament to handle the hate and keep on coming, and the cojones to speak the truth to all.
Noem does not meet the MAGA or cojones criteria.
If she had the cojones needed, she would have answered the ‘bird brain’ question instead of deflecting it.
Noem cut him off at the knees. She did not fall for the “gossip-monger” question. She stayed on track, on focus.
she would attract women like Sarah Palin did.
Pence was a Deep State plant from the start; only DJT did not know that. I think Kristi is worth being on the “short list” – she does come across as an America First believer, and DJT would help strengthen her resolves. I think Kari Lake is awesome, but would not be a very popular VP candidate, due to the wimpy guys and so-called “soccer moms” who are afraid of Strong Conservative women.
Soccer moms are the Strong women
Interior Secretary should be a Westerner. Good place for her.
It’s a hard “NO” from me on Noem. Pence 2.0, but with a prettier wrapping. Get a true MAGA VP, then train his son Eric to run in 2028……
So pretty. She’s aging like fine wine.
She’s a pretty woman at baseline. Her plastic surgeon is seeing to it that her aging is well sculpted. I suspected she was going to throw her hat in the ring for the pres position when she got that facelift. She didn’t need it.
A little skin sanding was performed, too. Her acne scars are not as pronounced anymore.
There you go, Shoeless Guy! Eric is definitely the best choice to come after PDJT – if you’re looking at family.
I think he’s the steadiest one of them and very involved WITH his Dad in the family business, so no doubt has learned a lot.
From what I’ve seen of Eric when interviewed or a guest on shows, it seems he has a need to develop a harder edge and perhaps hone his discernment regarding politicians. He’ll learn a lot when these Uniparty traitors are exposed.
I know many here are ‘No more dynasties’, but we’ll have to see what God says.
Anyone thinking PDJT is going to save our country without God showing him the way, or that PDJT has any chance of doing it all alone – is not facing the reality of what is going on here and in the rest of the world.
PDJT would not still be standing if he wasn’t under God’s protection. This is not a war in the natural! God wins, but you have to put on the Armor of God and do your part people! Pray, pray, pray!
Get in God’s Word and read and study it – develop your faith and trust in Him! He’s the same yesterday, today, and forever! He’s God, and He cannot lie.
If you believe Revelation, believe the rest of the Bible. It’s His Living Word. What He did for others there – the Miracles He wrought – He can and will do the same for us now.
It will take that and nothing less to save our country -and the rest of the world. How could you believe differently? Count on Him – God wins!
Please explain just how all those wins have come our way so far, and thanks.
He didn’t say they had, he said that they could…. if we pray and trust God. Either you believe or you dont, your choice. As for me, I believe.
Sorry, but no dynasties. We tried that with the Bushes and saw what it cost us. Clinton and the Obamessiah.
Does two generations make a dynasty?
Chelsea will step up to the plate. Because you know, her mom and dad.
lol. She would fall head-first into the plate. Hopefully, she knows better than to make a public fool of herself.
And it seems to me that there is a difference between the other “dynasties” mentioned in that Eric was not raised in the environment of politics, as were W, Jeb!, Chelsea, the Kennedy’s….. Gavin Newsome, etc. Eric is a successful businessman in his own right…..
NoeP!
Meanwhile Nikki doing her spiel …. lol
Nikki Haley says there are “some” cases that Trump “is going to have to answer for.”
Birdbrain is the Democrat Party’s best friend.
https://truthsocial.com/@CitizenFreePress/posts/111701502672653822
…a quote that will run in Biden ads after DJT has the nomination.
She lost me when she refused to protect women’s sports. Tucker really drilled down on her and she she gave a bad answer. In reality, my guess is someone whispered in her ear to back off.
“Pick Nikki”, slogan in Iowa, I get the thought process, but jeez, it is lame. How many thousands were paid for that gem?
No to Noem. Can’t be trusted. Due to Equity will it have to be a woman for VP?
I have to say her hairdresser does an awesome job on the highlights. I find her kinda creepy in an AI Bot kind of way.
It’s the lip and cheek bones filler going haywire, looks like
It appears Noem stole Mick Jagger’s lips.
Shouldn’t that slogan be “Picki Nikki”?
Nunes might work. He’s MAGA, an outsider that was an insider, good level head, good communicator and is close to Trump and most of all loyal.
Dan Scavino is the most loyal of all, Nunes and Stephen Miller. That is about all I can think of in terms of true loyalty that I can trust. The rest I do not trust, even if they play a good game and I like them.
Nunes proved he can not only take the heat but come back after destroyers. He is a bit stodgy…not going to win over women or youth like Lake might. I take Trump’s commentary about who will he pick for VP and that decision never wins the election as meaning: “It’s about me, not somebody else.” In politics of the past the VP had to be from a large electoral college state…I bet it will be a swing state pick.
I look at her. I see her.
Pull her extensions and she says some MAGAish related thoughts and stuff she would do if she just had more power.
Give her some more time, money and power and before you know it, she’ll get as greasy as Nancy’s face and start talking like a Cheney.
The Koch Krew have plumped, plucked and polished a shiny TURD!
Yep I said it!
You think she’s…..
]8^)
Muwhahahahahahah!
/me waves at Kristy
Poison. If your bona fides aren’t sparkling clean and crystal clear. You do not belong in, or on, the Trump campaign. If there is the smallest amount of doubt – take a pass. We can not afford to plant a Trojan horse this time around.
My late friend, former boss, and lifelong South Dakotan Larry, espied Noem for greater things when she first entered the SD legislature. He was a low-level IT guy who knew a lot of people and kept his eyes and ears open in his working perambulations.
The bandwagon crowd.
Jumping on right at the end…
Noem is a weak, lukewarm asset.
Koch crew are her biggest and strongest donor over the years. She is where she is because of Koch and that translates to her being beholden big time. Both Noem and Koch crew are patient and steadfast in their plans to fulfill her ambition… Her value to the RNC and GOP over the years has grown steadily with little to no upsets. I’ve watched her during those years and her mounting debt and obligations to Kock. Put into perspective, she hasn’t the strength, conviction or dedication of a crusader like Kari Lake and others who put America and its citizens First.
Is her term up and can no longer be the governor? [truly not familiar with SD politics.]
Otherwise, she’s better off being a ‘local warlord’ (what I consider for people like Sununu or DeSantis) than on the national stage to influence national politics.
yup . She’s term limitid. But as a born and bred SD, I dont get any vp vibes from her. Maybe Ag related dept possible.
Her heart isnt in DC.
Major Garrett does not deserve a promotion.
In fact, I think he should be busted back to corporal.
I don’t trust her.
Why is it that a VP has to be a damn woman?
Another “good Christian” who wants open borders or mass legal immigration (in reality, there is not difference since Fedzilla hasn’t enforced immigration law in decades).
They think Jesus is telling them that the USA should take in every 3rd World peasant. They are deluded. They are nation destroyers.
I agree 100% with your assessment, Sundance.
Hmmm, as for me Noem is a NO! Nice lady I guess, from what I know, but I don’t trust anyone with big money backers. We’ve been ‘stabbed in the back’ too many times in the past. Remember, as Sundance says, there are TRILLIONS at stake and those who stand to lose it will do anything to keep it including a plant like Kristi Noem. Would she be the next Mike Pence?
That was a good interview. She certainly knew how to answer questions in a way to stay on offense and not get caught up in gotcha soundbites criticizing Trump.
And who cares if he calls someone “birdbrain”. Good gosh the left refers to Trump as Hitler, fascist, and a threat to democracy whole trying to remove him from state ballots and put him in jail for life.
(As I said upstream…OK for cabinet or Ambassador position…not VP).
Pretty awesome to see that the primary focus of CBS News is whether or not “bird-brained” is a proper term to describe Nikki Haley.
Ah, I see. Even if KN is not VP, she will be perceived as a better choice than Nikki and the possibility of KN basically causes people to avoid Nasty Nikki. If KN and her actions are part of an actual strategy then she will get rewarded with something, although i don’t think VP.
Vp pick will be an unexpected one. Someone like Mark Morgan ex CBP chief, former 20 year veteran Special Agent with FBI, a military career and he is out there not afraid to say what needs to be said.
Law enforcement, management experience, Washington experience, Hispanic gang experience with FBI, Commander of FBI personnel in Irag gives him foreign policy creds and assistant director of FBI academy gives him the gravitas to help with reform. He was active duty reservist Marine Corp, a deputy sherriff in Missouri, a cop in LA. and NOT a career politician.
A BS in engineering makes him a problem solver and has a Juris Doctorate giving him a legal background. This is the type Trump will pick. A worker who is not afraid to do what it takes to get the job done.
At the least, new head of FBI.
https://www.heritage.org/staff/mark-morgan .
Thank You for this information on Mark Morgan.
Biden has labeled patriotic Americans who support an America First agenda, many of whom are first responders, served in military, etc., “extremists” & “domestic terrorists”, that is FAR more offensive and destructive to our very lives & livelihoods than calling a birdbrain, “birdbrain”.
Trump/Vivek
When they take out Trump…Vivek is standing in the breech.
I dont think she has any desires for the VP, its just not a significant position. More of a rubber stamp than accomplishing anything important. The farm gal comes out strong in her and i think that if she’s after any position in the administration it would have to have something to do with farming/ranching. like Ag or dept of interior.
‘Trump doesn’t think he’s better than anyone else… he’s one of THEM, fighting for THEM.’ Don’t you mean US, Honey? Sounds Koch coached over a $5000 dinner in Napa to me!
Thank You Madam Vice Ptesident!!!🤔
ANY politician should be viewed with caution. None of them are perfect, to include Donald J. Trump. They all have their weaknesses, and 99.9% of them rely on other people’s money in order to gain the office they seek. Having said that, Noem has been pretty steadfast in America First type principles. And it needs reminding to people: She was the only one of 50 governors who DID NOT shut her state down for the Covid nonsense. She stood for freedom when the country was awash with tyranny. I’m not claiming her motives were pure, I’m only claiming she did the right thing when no one else did.
I was told by very reliable SD State reps (plural) that the reps forced her to stay the course and then she wanted to delegate mask regs to the SD Sec of Health gut the reps and some senators blocked that too. I am a SD resident and am on first name basis with 3 reps that held her boots to the fire. But she then exacted her revenge on 3-4 other constitutional reps and got them replaced with rinos.
I posted upstream that i dont think she has vp desires but maybe a dept of ag or something helping farmers which is where her heart is. But suspicious cat is correct on Ms Rino. She will do the right thing when people are looking…..
That is my understanding. People forget that when the mandates/lockdowns were first proposed by the Federal COVID Task Force, all 50 governors at the time were on board with implementing them in their respective states, including Noem and Jill/Casey’s hubby.
How’s Marsha Blackburn? I’ve not been paying much attention to VP possibilities.
I don’t trust Noem. Problem is that Trump has a weakness for beautiful women and our opposition is well aware of that fact.
Really brave not to close SD beaches
