As expected, the Senate dropped all the woke restrictions from the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) and added $300 million for Ukraine along with a four-month extension of the FISA 702 authority until April 19, 2024.
The vote roll for this bill is here. With the final vote at 87-13.

Only six republicans voted against the $886 billion dollar bill.
WASHINGTON (Reuters) -The U.S. Senate backed a defense policy bill authorizing a record $886 billion in annual military spending with strong support from both Democrats and Republicans on Wednesday, sidestepping partisan divides over social issues that had threatened what is seen as a must-pass bill.
Separate from the appropriations bills that set government spending levels, the National Defense Authorization Act, or NDAA, authorizes everything from pay raises for the troops – this year’s will be 5.2% – to purchases of ships, ammunition and aircraft as well as policies such as measures to help Ukraine and pushback against China in the Indo-Pacific.
This year’s bill is nearly 3,100 pages long, authorizing a record $886 billion, up 3% from last year.
The NDAA “will ensure America can hold the line against Russia, stand firm against the Chinese Communist Party, and ensures that America’s military remains state-of-the-art at all times all around the world,” Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said before the vote.
But the final version of the NDAA left out provisions addressing divisive social issues, such as access to abortion and treatment of transgender service members, that had been included in the version passed by the House over the objections of Democrats, threatening to derail the legislation.
The 100-member Senate backed the NDAA by 87 to 13. The House is expected to pass it as soon as later this week, sending it to the White House where President Joe Biden is expected to sign it into law.
The fiscal 2024 NDAA also includes a four-month extension of a disputed domestic surveillance authority, giving lawmakers more time to either reform or keep the program, known as Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).
The Senate defeated an attempt to remove the FISA extension from the NDAA on Wednesday before voting to pass the bill. (read more)
Meanwhile over in the House of Representatives, Speaker Mike Johnson entertained prior House Speaker Paul Ryan for lunch. (link)

Body language usually sends pretty clear signals. Look at the photo, view from above, of Ryan and Johnson descending the stairs.
Ryan’s arms are crossed and head down, looking dour, and nothing like a man who just won the day, and Johnson, practically chin to the chest, appears to be folding up inside himself. This was not a “we do great business together” type of engagement. I’m hoping this was a Battle Royale and that Johnson, even if this was a personal loss for him, now understands how serious, committed, and dangerous is the nest of the snakes within the GOPe / RNC.
Meanwhile, the Senate vote speaks for itself. The retired Pat Toomey, formerly of PA, for all intents and purposes, made a gift of his Senate seat to John Fetterman. PA is down for the count in the U.S. Senate. No one but those who count the votes (ballots) in PA get any slice of a seat at the table in PA. When one calls the PA Senators’ phone lines, there’s no one home willing to listen to Republican voters, much less take our concerns seriously.
At the risk of repeating myself, Paul Ryan does not look happy at all on the heels of this meeting with Speaker Johnson. I hope this means something today, The Day After. Paul Ryan is such a smaller man than he sees himself to be in the mirror. I ask you that we form a strong circle of prayer around Speaker Johnson, and not give up on him yet.
Yes. And I do pray for Speaker Johnson to have the strength to stand up. 🙏🏻🙏🏻 MAGA ❤️❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸👊👊🙏🏻🙏🏻
Johnson to Ryan…
“Message received, sir!

I’m sure they’re buddies. Lol this is such a joke, months/years of examples government of fisa abuse against conservatives and this is what we get from a repub congress….More fisa abuse.
no one in Congress is not compromized

IngredientsFOR THE SAUSAGE:
SERVE WITH:
InstructionsPREPARE THE MASS CORRUPTION COMPLEX SAUSAGECut the fresh meat of new Congressmen into 1/4 inch thick slices and generously salt each slice. Let them rest for about 15 minutes so that the corruption salt can draw out the moisture and bitterness.
Wipe each of the politicians with a cash towel to remove the ethics and personal standards.
In an extensive private network, combine the page boy oil, crushed ideals, donor cash, nepotism, revolving doors, and mutual comprimat.
Place each of the Congressional leaders in the organized crime cooking dish, flipping them over to ensure both sides are covered in corruption.
GRILL THE PATRIOTSPreheat the patriotic base barbecue to medium heat. Grill for approximately 6 minutes per side until golden in color with grill marks.
If the new corrupted Congressional leaders become dry and stick to the grill, brush them with more page boy oil and donor cash, threaten them with cancellation and exposure.

“…strength to stand up?” He’s caved on every single opportunity since he started farting into the same damn chair that leftist simp from Bakersfield had. Now they go home until January of course never would it occur to him to keep these sellout frauds in session and do something like work? All Johnson has done thus far is prove he’s Paul Ryan with a bible who likely thinks he too will die and go to Heaven for sake of WTF is it now?
He’s already fallen in spite of all his scriptural/Biblical layering.
Paul Ryan looks like the enforcer and Johnson has caved.
The better question in all of this is “Why” would Johnson need to seek the counsel of Paul Ryan?
RNC sent him to get Johnson’s head straight.
Exactly – consorting with the enemy is not a good look.
Oh for goodness sake, you are asking that this late in the game? You don’t get it yet?
Exactly
Sadly I believe you are wrong. Just another tater tot pretending to be a potato with strong conservative roots. No roots all grease…..sorry but I’m hungry….
Why does Paul RINO have any say in any of this?
Guess he’s the enforcer, it pays better. There comes a point where they all need to take stock and admit publically whatever it is the DS is blackmailing them for. They won’t though because they are either cowards or part of the communist coup.
He hates Trump, he is head of fox news, hello? He’s posting anti Trump tweets all over twitter this week.
It looks to me like Johnson is looking down because he’s descending a very narrow and steep staircase.
Agreed. But, OMG, look at Ryan. Who, in their right mind, goes down a staircase with their arms crossed? It totally undermines your balance. I think this is the first time in my life I’ve ever seen anyone do it. I don’t know if Ryan is feeling dominant, frustrated or just generally angry, but it sure must be serious to make him close himself off that way–even if it means doing something dangerous.
Too bad someone didn’t push him down the stairs.
Josh Shapiro is obviously Pennsylvania’s vote counter.
WTH is Ryan doing there, lobbying?
Georgetown cocktail circuit fire up on Thursday nights? If so, they’re probably heading to the motor pool to split a ride over to meet May McCord and her pal Laura Ingraham. Hell, maybe Dizzy Lizzie Chaney and Adam Kinzinger too – both Ryan’s friends. He was just shown on msnbc touting the “frustration Liz and Adam” have over Trump’s success/s. We’re in the realm of the surreal. It will not end well. Promise.
Johnson is still fooling you huh? Okay, in six months tell me how that’s working out for you. He’s Kevin’s little puppy and not for Trump.
The cabal running DC is not done yet. The grift, the money laundering, and NWO plan is still a-go in their minds. They know they can’t beat Trump at the polls, so they have to sabotage everything in case Trump escapes their assassination attempt(s) and actually steps foot into the White House again. They have fail safes like Ryan who will persuade Johnson to do their sabotaging of Trump and his policies-all the while he remains an oblivious useful idiot. Johnson is no better than McCarthy. Shiny toys are the Biden impeachments. The destruction of our military, our moral fabric, and our financial collapse are way more important to this country than Hunter subpoenas and a Xiden impeachment that will never pass the senate anyway.
Pay less attention to speech and body language.
And more to actions.
What the bell was Ryan there anyway
Image above of LIMP Johnson and COCKY Ryan appropriately depicts todays reality.
I hate Paul RINO. We should all pray he gets run over by a semi truck.
And a Merry Christmas to you!
Would settle for for the irony of an EV on autopilot.
And the after accident investigation will detirmine the AI algorythm for the self-driving vehicle was programed to, if itvhad no other choice, hit the less important thing…so for instance hit a wall, rather than a person.
However, investigators are still trying to detirmine whatvthe vehicle was avoiding, when it swerved and struck Ryan.
At least Bannon called little Mikey out and let him know what we think of him. I really think it is all about Trump, they won’t impeach Biden, they push these disastrous spending bills, to make it harder for Trump if he does win. Never doubt that for a minute.
MORE BREAD. MORE CIRCUSES. MORE SHIVING AMERICA IN THE RIBS.
Et tu, Johnson?
$300M for Ukraine…lol…pretty boy better pay his bodyguard extra when he gets back to Keeev.
Remember, the request was for $37B and I think originally they were demanding more than that. So they got less than 1% of what they wanted. It’ll be interesting to see if the Government Party re-attacks after New Years. It certainly seems like they’ve grifted all they could and are going to auction off the rest.
I think my favorite part is how the rest of the world gets to see what an awful “friend” America is. Our CIA and State Dept will shove you into a war with zero chance of victory. Our media and elected officials will run 24/7 propaganda trying to get the public to support WW3. But then citizens see through the lies, and as an entire generation of your young men wiped out, they throw a $20 bill over the fence, “Nice knowing ya!”
And THEN, those same rat-bas!adds turn on their own people and blame us for their disaster.
It takes a billon $’s a day to fund Ukraine. The grift is huge.
“They” are not our people. “They” are not Americans. They hate Americans. They are the same people Solzhenitsyn said ruined Russia and mass murdered and tortured Russians in his Gulag Archipelago series. Not for night time reading. Frightening stuff. It will keep you awake. It will keep you armed and convince you to never give up your guns. Our founders didn’t give us a Second Amendment because they thought the deer were coming for us.
Well said – I’m reading that book right now. Americans could never stand up to that kind of torture. We are way too pampered. And I speak for myself too.
NDAA is not “money”. It could be the $300 mil is in the current continuing appropriations act (runs to 2/2/24 for defense), but probably not.
Marsha Blackburn and JD Vance voted “Yea.”. Disgusting
Marsha FOX Blackburn
About 2Y ago I figured her out…she’s KABUKI THEATRE center stage…she’s all TALK…the Trey Gowdy…
She runs to Breitbart and to Fox ‘for the folks back home’……
She’s disgusting….a deceiver if there’s ever been one….
Can confirm. I’ve contacted both Senate offices. They send a bloviating and unrelated email response every time.
Marsha Fox BLACKROCK.
FIFY
Vance was a no.
How could you not see that Vance was a NO – one of the thirteen of nay’s.
Vance was a nay according to the chart.
Amazing how quickly they stab us in the back after being elected. We have no representation.
You should correct your comment. JD Vance voted “Nay.”
Vance is in the Nay column.
Blackburn, the sweet talking traitor did. But J.D. VANCE voted NO. Read it again.
Only six Republicans looking out for the interests of us ‘commoners’.
Pathetic!
Braun voted no because he is running for governor of Indiana. Doesn’t want to look bad back home.
Braun voted yes. He is a Rino. I do not trust him at all to be Governor of Indiana.
The only one running that I like is Curtis Hill. Mainly because he was going after Holcomb as.AG and then the RNC club got rid of him. The rest are Holcomb appointees that are /were in his administration.
Holcomb is a WEF supporter.
the current federal government is a complete waste of time, energy and especially money.
Needs to be nuked.
From orbit – just to be sure.
I keep thinking about the Tom Clancy book where the guy fly the plane into the Capitol and kills them all.
One can dream.
Tons of pressure on Speaker Johnson. Prayers for him & America. Hope he can stand up.
He’s another milquetoast, no stones.
More democrats voted against this thing, than RINOs. What does THAT say about the Republicans? Nothing good. At all! And I’m including BERNIE with the democrats!
They voted against it for different reasons.
Excellent interview with Kash Patel that touches on this subject and more: https://www.theepochtimes.com/epochtv/kash-patel-on-holding-bad-actors-accountable-and-the-assault-on-presidential-privilege-atlnow-5545786?utm_source=ATLNewsletter&src_src=ATLNewsletter&utm_campaign=2023-12-13&src_cmp=2023-12-13&utm_medium=email&est=Fyq3zt%2Fb6QPN9u57FkWJYLK47GfllS%2Blk2hxlnzF6ST9Wsqjit9fDe07RylK
Good interview.
Excellent interview on Immunity and Fake Media and 702 and more
IMHO,
ALMOST everyone was fooled by the Kabuki theater, back when Kursin Sinalot and Manchin channeled Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski, and blocked passage of the bill to repeal the fillibuster, and a $780 Billion budget bill; (hint it was ALL about advancing and the defeating a bill to repeal the fillibuster, everything else was a distraction,…shh!)
Point being, IMHO everyone is missing the key point here, which is an unchanged continueing of the 702 program, but ONLY for 4 months.
They will continue to PRETEND to be arguing over it, and so only short term authorisations BECAUSE if PDJT regains thd Oval, they do NOT want him to have this weoponisation, to turn on THEM.
THATS the hidden big deal they want everyone distracted from.
I think they just wanted another four months of “legally” being able to spy on President Trump and his legal team before the lawfare show trials start.
It allows them to look for additional things to charge him with and also find out what his legal team’s strategy is going to be.
I thought Sundance posted that the 702 extension also expanded its ability to spy on us. Was that taken out?
I see Ricketts voted “Nay” and Fischer voted “Aye.” Nice deal? Fischer has been a disappointment.
BOTH TN senators voted for this – Mushy Marsha and Hagard Haggerty. Both have situational ethics/morals. If the situation is beneficial to them personally then it’s ok.
I have never voted for Mushy Marsha for Senator since I already knew her record as a Rep. She’s a Lamar Alexander type of GOPe. I gave Hagerty a vote in his first time running for Senate. That’s the last vote he’ll get from me. Looks like Marsha has a Commie Dem challenger this time around. As a recap, I’m a no vote for Senate – Blackburn & Hagerty and a no vote for Rep Dr Mark Green who’s never seen a defense contractor he didn’t love to throw money to.
I’m at the point where there in no one in the TN delegation (either state or federal) who I’m willing to vote yea. I’m curious to see who my state rep will be since the tax increasing lover Whitson isn’t running again. I never voted for him either.
If it’s any consolation, I feel much the same over in SC.
Haggerty looks like a pedofile, and probably is. Marsha is a do nothing fake.
I wish I could give the six more credit. I do give them kudos but voting against, knowing it will pass anyway, only goes so far. I cannot forget McCain voting in favor of Ocare repeal every time except the time that counted. Calling the Senate a nest of vipers is not fair to snakes everywhere.
This is insane! Hold the line against Russia, China, etc? WTF? We have a wide open border with criminals and drugs flooding in! We are at war right here, it just hasn’t gone hot yet. A widened war anywhere is the last thing Russia or China want. They want to do business. That’s what we should be doing. The US is on fragile ground financially. People won’t believe it until countries like Saudi Arabia start dumping their bonds and the fire sale begins. Our country is vulnerable financially and militarily. The world has changed. We are not what we were in the 1990s thanks to the globalists stuffing their bank accounts and gutting America into a rust belt. These arrogant ignorant idiots in DC have managed to isolate us from most of the world. Some experts claim we are already over the financial cliff and DC knows this and they are spending and stuffing their pockets until the collapse. When this happens they won’t call it a default, they will call it restructuring.
National Defense Authorization Act

A.R., you are one of few Patriots calling our former borders and consequent invasion a war ! The only way to stop this treason at the hands of CONgress, biden, garland and every fedgov traitor is with force. The three branches of Amerika’s fedgov….Executive, Legislative and Judicial are entirely corrupt. Unless Patriots use force of arms against this treason and sedition this former nation will be relegated to the dustbin of history.
Seriously hope it doesn’t come to that. We’d be like an African war-torn nation w/ roaming tribal factions and guerilla warfare everywhere. No one should want that. I like being Ungovernable. We need more of us to be willing to lie against the machine, to cheat against it & even to steal from it whenever possible. Every small ruination counts -just don’t get caught. For example, yesterday in a retail store I came across a tranny display in the youth section and quickly tore it down. When I see revisionist products I throw them on the floor. If a credit card company asks if I have a business, I lie and say I do so they give me hundreds in cash signup bonuses. DO What you can to throw the corruption and chaos back in their faces. Then pray on it. I ask for mercy in these times and thus far, I’ve gotten no signs of rebuke from Him. I will speak the Lord’s truth to a wanting ear. To the devil, I tell only lies.
They’ve begging us to NEVER vote for them again. I might take them up on it.
Change “might” to “will”. It’s why I love my user name on this website more and more everyday.
Been voting straight-ticket nonincumbent for years. Even if they win, it’s a nice middle finger to see how many voted for their opponent.
It’s the UniParty, folks, and you ain’t in it! Never-Trump RINO Ryan is there to lobby the Speaker on behalf of the Murdochs. I am very concerned about Johnson’s credibility at this point.
Johnson is just another career Uniparty scoundrel. He is no better than his seditious homeboy Ryan.
Actually, it’s 300 million for “Ukraine.” He quotes are important here, as they haven’t given a proper accounting for the billions they’ve spent already.
So we’re paying our own government to facilitate the invasion of our country and to spy on us. Splendid…
It seems that the realpolitik of Republicans in the Senate is appeasement under the guise of ‘short-term extension.’
The FISA extension is tragic. No doubt that dangerous foreign adversaries have been identified via FISA methods, and yet, it will never make us “safe”…and the idea of some Utopian-like ‘guaranteed safety’ should never be the expectation.
Mankind is a fallen creature and therefore the specter of conflict and dangerous enemies will continue to be a constant variable. FISA will not change that… though it certainly seems to provide an efficacious means of brownshirtism in domestic politics.
Well said!
It would have been nice to see whether the upgraded M1A1 Abrams tanks were up to their ‘state-of-the-art’ billing except the MIC got cold feet and won’t allow the secret additional layer of depleted uranium version to be exported. That’s only for the US Army.
The business of war is always business. Videos of smoldering tanks are bad for business. As they say, life insurance is always sold and never bought. The same can be said for America’s expensive military gadgetry.
It’s all about keeping the laundry fully stocked.
Paul Ryan is no longer an elected Member of Congress. Not a good look, Speaker Mike Johnson.
Good to know my Sen voted Yea, I will be voting Nay when he’s up for election. They make the choices so easy.
Why would the new Speaker even feel the need to meet with a corporate stooge surrender monkey like Paul Ryan, who is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Murdoch Inc.? Did Ryan give him lessons in how to capitulate and stab his constituents in the back?
Never forget, the same crime syndicate will seize your home you paid off if unable to pay your income tax on your Social Security…
then sell it to donate to the Biden/Ukraine criminal money laundering grift.
And the way these criminals operate one of the grifters in the syndicate will most likely end up with your home for pennies on the dollar.
Or they’ll end up donating it to a clan of illegals as part of their welcome wagon package.
So what happened to the plan to tie American border security to this so-called “defense bill”? Or was that one of those “divisive social issues”?
“Here are the 118 Representatives who voted to protect your right to privacy. (Nay to FISA warrantless surveillance as part of NDAA)”…
More bridges to be built. For Ukraine. So Russia can blow them up.
The Senate vote as regards FISA extension was 65-35. Once removing the extension language was off the table, it was a given that the NDAA would have to pass. Amazingly, one of my ultra-lefty Sens, Hirono, voted against FISA. Of course NDAA doesn’t provide actual money; that’s in the continuing appropriations act.
Both useless Idaho senators voted yes
Same with TX
did the extension include the stopping of queries without warrant?
or did they just extend the original beast for another 4?

The shape of the staircase and the direction Mike Johnson is heading on them seems to be a metaphor
I smacked at you yesterday and thought about it overnight. I was not wrong in noticing the change in tone, it is there, but I understand the reasoning behind it. Keep on keeping on.

https://redstate.com/wardclark/2023/12/14/house-of-representatives-sends-national-defense-authorization-to-president-bidens-desk-n2167546
With this all I have to say is I agree and fully support the efforts of the Federal Government to ensure that anyone who dares to stand up is immediately vanished.
I for one will always post on the internet, in a forum that is now completely traceable and accessible to TPTB, my true love of the country and support for everything being put in place by our duly elected representatives.
I encourage all to understand the true meaning of this comment.
Hence forth I will no longer be posting on internet forums anything regarding politics. The conversations are now restricted to face to face.
If one counts the nay votes, those votes include: 7 x Dems + 1 x Faux Ind (Sanders)
So …. if the Republicans really wanted to make a statement …. just sayin’ …. //sarc
By the way the way … the $300 Million for the Ukraine is a gross understatement as it is just the money specifically allocated to the Ukraine Budget Line but does not include the 10’s of $Billion in reprogramming that WILL occur … or $Billions in equipment “purchased for the US Military and transferred”.
Senate Republicans certainly don’t deserve presents this year. Do they even deserve our votes?
Not the walk of comrades, chums or friends. Ryan giving off sour attitude and slightly pissed off; Johnson looks like he had to eat a poop sandwich. The confab was harder than we might think. Johnson reluctantly on board?? We’ll see what DJT says. Ryan is an anachronism at this point. RINO’s playing for short points now. No game strategy; just defense.
It’s like D.C. emits some kind of zombie mind control wave that turns perfectly rational people into pliable blank NPC that do the deep state’s bidding without opposition.
3,100 pages they didn’t read….
they are Reps, not Readers. The people they Rep wrote it for them.
So, we see that Cruz, Kennedy, Hawley, Graham and McConnell and other fake tough talkers sold America out, this also includes paying for sex changed and abortions with our money. This GOP is the worse congress we have ever had. I think most of them are pedofiles. Only Trump will fight. I have watched Cruz all year pushing his podcast and his book, happy as a clam. And Hawley, who has become a horrible caricature of himself talking tough and then just bending over for them and John Kennedy is a traitor too. All he does is pull out his stupid jokes to charm the stupid and wants to cut medicare and social security. They are EVIL, worse then democrats, because at least they tell you where they are coming from. It is so awful for us, with the left dragging Trump through the courts and filthy, little Comer will never do anything to Hunter Biden.
Hawley voted NO.
Cruz, Kennedy, Graham and McConnell and other fake tough talkers were always going to vote for it.
Party on – America is NOT at declared war with anyone, and it seems the UniParty can’t flush enough down the Pentagon’s toilets.
The senate is chok- full dirty rinos. Trump will never be able to get any meaningful passed with them. Same as 2016 they’ll be working against him the entire time.
The house has voted an Representative Chuck Edwards, and Patrick McHenry along with our Senator Ted Budd and Thom Tillis have once again sold their constituents out by voting for fake Ukraine war spending and 702 spy bill on their residents. Give me any reason to vote for them in future Republican primary elections .
Absolutely disgusting.
must be nice to be fat on our dime and not gaf about just handing it out. then again, it makes me happy to see starving and homeless people here around my town. the hungry kids make me the happiest.
So damn tiring and so frustrating KNOWING these are the pool of grifters and thieves we’ll always have to choose from???
Americans will miss President Trump when he’s gone…so I sure hope that they understand ’24!!!
And why is “Poison” Paul Ryan anywhere near the workings of congress today???
…and now you know the only 6 Senators that are in any way potential candidates for re-election. ALL the others should be voted in in their next primary – if there is one.
What the crap Ron Johnson???
6 republicans
I’m tired of people saying Speaker Johnson is a good Christian man. He’s as Christian as Judas Pence
Any senate appropriate is “Non-Binding”. The real story will be in the House as they craft the final bill that can’t take place until Johnson has the votes to pass it. Volumes were disclosed with he and Ryan walking down those stairs. Ryan was the messenger. Wonder what the threats were given Johnson?
