Before Obama shutdown the shuttle program, Space X had a successful launch from the launch pad modified for it. NASA was using the other launch pad to support the space station. Obama shutdown shuttle 3 years before Space X was ready for launches to support the station. During those 3 years the US paid Russia for Soyuz’s support flights to station. NASA seeded Space X and a couple of other commercial ventures with billions to produce a reusable vehicle. The ability of the Falcon’s boosters and main stage to land on land instead of the ocean has made the turn around time of launches as frequent as NASA wanted for the shuttle. They can launch twice a week weather permitting. Shuttle boosters took months to refurbish after their fire and salt water baths. The Falcon saves time and money compared to the shuttle. Space flight is extremely expensive, so, millions of dollars per launch.

I’ve done some outside-in analysis of the tech stack and owners of Rumble and TruthSocial and I generally agree with Sundance in that they are less fragile, they certainly are not completely anti-fragile.
Rumble for instance is tied into Google monitoring services which is a huge funnel into the borg.
Also, the Patriot Act requires them to provide data, its not an option, they get paid for it, and they are required to deny it.
Presumably both operations are NOT full of woke AI satanic transhumanists so thats a good start

It’s the biological equivalent of not prosecuting crime. I visit friends in Naples Florida quite often. You have beautiful communities of high and homes, with panther crossing signs. From one backyard straight into another. WTF? People have children, people have pets, why would you want something like that roaming around in your backyard?

I live in an area where coyotes, wolves, bobcats, mountain lion, bears are THEORETICALLY all around, have seen a bobcat once,…in 10 years and javelinas in my yard.
Living WITH nature isn’t hard,..I feel far “safer” here than in the cities I was raised in.
A couple of winters ago I was sitting in the kitchen having a coffee when what I thought was an unusually large tabby cat hopped up on the deck and stood at the patio door looking into the house. It was a bobcat. The paw prints in the snow on the deck looked bigger than my dog’s!
He just looked at me for a few seconds then waltzed off. I felt like a zoo animal in this encounter.
People complained about it, and Animal Control removed the bobcats. The resulting explosion in rabbits was incredible. On a slow day that summer we’d have 10-15 rabbits on our small lawn. Last summer when the predators returned, the rabbits were fewer in number and tended to stay hidden.
In my neighborhood I have great respect for the survival skills of the rabbit and squirrels.
Deer, bear and fox are common here in the coastal forest; we regularly see them either in person or on door cameras around the houses here. I just don’t leave trash out and carry my sidearm if out between dusk and dawn, their most common times to join us.
We shoot on our properties so probably that keeps them a bit aloof. So far, in 8 years here, no problems. The animals are good neighbors. Communists, not so much. The economic realities appear to be keeping them from their vacation homes more this year. Good. More space for the animals to roam.

When the local Dept of Wildlife trucks came through our neighborhood and removed all the bobcats and foxes…we got overrun with rabbits and other pests because the natural predators were removed and residential areas have bountiful plants that attract rabbits.
Last summer I noticed some fox and bobcats had moved back in and we had about 75% fewer rabbits destroying my lawn.
Despite the widespread prevalence of bears, coyotes, foxes, mountain lions and bobcats where I live, it’s rare for them to go after pets and attacks on people are almost nonexistent.
The predators help keep the ecosystem in balance. And there are easy ways to let pets outside but still be protected.
Florida has Big Snakes (non native) and enormous Alligators in people’s back yards ugh.
Because after close to 30 years, the cats do their thing and I do mine! They sure do a number on a deer carcass.
It’s the coyotes you have to worry about! They steal the toddlers and liberally toss dynamite everywhere.
And don’t forget the alligators. They are one of the reasons I left that area.

For those Bannon and Bongino listeners on streaming sticks, you always can go directly to warroom.org or bongino.com and stream their podcasts directly on a browser (they use Rumble).
I’ve noticed this week the Distro channel (carries Real America’s Voice and Bannon/Kirk/etc.) and the Rumble channel (Bongino) on Roku (hooked to the monster flatscreen) is severely throttling the Bannon and Bongino material. When I back out of Bannon on Distro the select other stupid content on Distro it streams fine. So, they might be throttling RAV because of the content. The Roku Rumble channel also is having throttling problems. And, that’s going through AT&T broadband. When I go directly to Bannon’s or Bongino’s web site with the Linux box browser the rumble hosted live podcasts have no problems. This whole thing might apply to other streaming sticks as well but I don’t know.

I use Roku and have no issue with RAV or Rumble. Watch Bannon and Bongino without issues. To be honest I’m not sure if I’m on AT&T since I use an independent hotspot service. I live in the country but have a cell tower within range – could be AT&T or Verizon. Not sure.

Quite frankly, I find social media very boring and somewhat stupid. No one speaks in sentences with subject, verbs and adjectives; it’s really more like monkey jargon, with memes and pictures and icons…in other words for those of us from a different cultural perspective; a complete waste of time.
I won’t even begin to mention, how ludicrous posts are detailing personal, intimate experience..God forgive us all that so many have fallen so far in such a short span of a life-time

But the trick to avoiding much of that sophomoric and juvenile nonsense is to seek out the accounts you know to be intellectually stimulating as well as factually accurate. Then, find out which accounts they are following and try adding to you “follow” list. And so on. As you find accounts that post good info or truly humorous sarcasm and memes,you’ll gradually build a list of people whose posts dominate your feed.
At the same time, you can use the Block feature aggressively to keep improving the quality of what appears in your Home / normal “feed”. Over time, you increasingly make the social media app work to better serve your preferences.
I used to detest Twitter. Now I use it 10x more than Truth Social. I find TruthSocial screen layout & utility to be acceptable when using a iPad or laptop screen and accessing it with my browser. I don’t think the TS mobile phone app is anywhere near as versatile or user friendly as the Twitter (X) mobile phone app.
Seems like much of what I see on X are polls – if you agree, like this post, reply to this post or some other such click bait.

What are the best ways to support Rumble and Truth Social? I avoid using youtube whenever possible, and use my Truth Social account fairly frequently. Canceled my Fakebook account a long time ago, shortly after I created it.
I hate the way RUM force feeds videos – finish watching what you want and then in 30 seconds later some unrelated video is forced on your screen. EZ to stop but I dislike the push – I’ll click play if I’m interested.
Agreed. Autoplay should be disabled by default. Then you can change it in the settings if you prefer to have it turned on.

We can do this right now, however, currently, products are designed to maximally benefit the company producing them, rather than the consumer/user buying them.

It is truly amazing that no one wants to mention gab.com as the first bastion of free speech to appear. Gab before Truth Social, Gettr, Rumble, and the rest. Yet, no one wants to mention them. If you have not seen, or tried out gab then give it a run. All you need to sign up is your email address. No phone numbers or any other personal ID needed.
One of the first things I thought of while watching the video. Mainstream propagandists did such a job on Gab back in the day that nearly all “factual” or “right leaning” outlets and pundits are afraid to ever mention Gab or admit that it even exists.
Truth does their own censoring of posts and you can hardly grow your followers unless you follow all the big name accounts and those big name accounts Never follow you back. The only people Truth suggest you follow are those big name accounts or personalities. Unlike the other platforms it doesn’t connect you with people you may know. It has plenty of flaws but I still post there for Trump.
Gab is the truest free speech platform of all of them. They censor only those that might be breaking laws. Everything else is free speech including the kind people dont like. I just block, mute or don’t follow those accounts but you follow and get followed back by regular people. I am still suspended from Twitter and Facebook deleted my whole presence on their platform for posting the truth about Ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine et al.
I must admit that I’ve never really wholly trusted Rumble, perhaps due to the affiliation with Peter Thiel. And I’ve also wondered why, considering that, AFAIK, it was actually Bitchute where alternative voices first gathered, that there was never more of a push to put Bitchute into the conversation….And with Musk’s current f*ck you to the powers that be….is it because this Twitter scenario was planned via Musk’s attachment to the US government? On a related note, I noticed last night, my time, My ad blocker was no longer working on YouTube. Trying to watch a chess strategy video, I had 3 ads in 3 minutes. What I have discovered in researching is that Google seems to have gone berserk on the ad blocking. Seems it is hurting revenues. On Google play, the company’s were reporting they were being forced to limit their blocking. The Brave browser now has ad blocking for a price.
As Sundance has pointed out, AI and other tools are being deployed via the internet to control what you watch, say and to collect data. That said, the ad thing is just another data point indicating control; who has it, and, who doesn’t.
