(Via Daily Mail) – [President Trump] “received a warm welcome from fans in South Carolina as he took his seat at Williams-Brice Stadium for the school’s rivalry football matchup with Clemson.
The 5-6 Gamecocks are hosting the 7-4 Tigers in the conservative-leaning state that former US President Trump won in both 2016 and 2020. But while the bulk of voters in South Carolina are Republicans, USC happens to be in Richland county, which overwhelmingly voted for President Joe Biden in 2020 and Hillary Clinton in 2016.
However, the fans in attendance at Williams-Brice Stadium on Saturday night still appeared pleased to see him, with footage on social media showing Trump earning cheers as he takes his seat in the stands.
The 77-year-old can be seen waving to the crowd before the Palmetto State rivalry game, where he is hoping to upstage his Republican opponent Nikki Haley on her home turf. (more)

unfortunately, Dad passed away on January 7th in 1969, so he was not here when the guys landed on the moon on July 20th – but we felt so close! It was awesome.
So, I had a lot of emotional history, I guess, invested in the idea that the guys DID land on the moon – and growing up hearing the engineers and scientists and technicians around the dinner table (or at the kitchen table) whenever they were visiting, those guys were a special breed of cat – where and how would they have kept THEM “on board”?

I am several years younger than Fred “Freddo” Haise and grew up in his hometown (Biloxi). Have had several convos in his later years about the space program. Even approaching 90 years, his memory is what you would expect from an exceptionally intelligent man. When you hear this hero recount the tribulations of A13 its obvious that the grave danger they were in was completely real. While I have doubts about the JFK assassination and even 9/11, there is no way I will ever be convinced that NASA did not send 24 men TO THE MOON. Always regretted the abort and not being the sixth human to walk on the moon, but equally happy to have returned to earth safely, but significantly ill.

My Mom and I were looking around at youtube yesterday and we saw a video about the Balboa Island Ferry (Newport Beach) and the California Air Resources Board hassling the Balboa Ferry company about the “necessity” of “zero emissions” for the ferry boats. It is ridiculous what the CARB is demanding to be done – somehow making the ferry boats operate on batteries, having a setup where it would be SAFE to operate with batteries in the water – and all the costs of building that – to achieve the goal of “zero emissions” – when the Balboa Ferry uses a total of 26 gallons of fuel a day and they save people all that gas of driving around 6 miles to get over to the Peninsula –
plus all the pedestrians who use the ferry as well as people who ride their bikes around the Island and Peninsula –
we were so distressed learning about this insanity and how implacable the CARB is on the matter – oh, of course, they will work to help the ferry company apply for grants to get this done but we say WHY FIX SOMETHING THAT ISN’T BROKEN and the ferry is an important part of the commerce in Balboa – sustaining tourism – actually good for the environment because it encourages people to walk and ride bikes –
Mom and I were simply aghast as we spent a lot of time there in the 1960’s and early 1970’s – Mom rented a beach house that was on Agate Street (the ferry street on the Island side) and it was so much fun to sit up on the balcony and watch people waiting for the ferry – especially on Friday and Saturday nights when there were all kind of people out and about on their dates, going to the movies at the theater over on the Peninsula, or to the Fun Zone – you could hear what they were playing on their car radios – then also we used the ferry constantly ourselves – my Grandmother loved going across to the other side to get a corn dog – so I would go with her – good times!
Well, we were certainly living our best lives THEN!

On Friday June 2, 2023 – Evidently the (ESA-European Space Agency) produced a ‘live stream’ from Mars using a visual monitoring camera -which is 2 decades old- It is not on Mars but is filming from afar from an orbiter. Mars is almost 3 million kilometers from Earth.
Images were going to be transmitted every 50 seconds-the difference here is its fairly “LIVE”.
BECAUSE IN THE PAST IT WOULD TAKE DAYS for pictures to transmit.
For this “LIVE” stream they said it will take about 17 minutes for light to travel from Mars to Earth and another minute to pass through the wires an 18 minute delay bcz of the time it takes for light to travel the distance depending on the average of the orbits of the 2 planets of about 140 million miles.
SO…in 1969 we had this technology to live stream to our TVs through NBC, ABC & CBS of them walking on the moon. OKAY…

Talking to my youngest son yesterday who is married to a liberal woman (who BTW is starting to see the light) and he made the comment to me that Trump is going to have a hard time getting elected due to all his baggage!
