After a lengthy and often combative GOP conference earlier today, Jim Jordan’s office has announced there will be a 3rd vote for House Speaker Friday at 10:00am.

The UniParty Republicans had earlier floated an interim proposal to grant temporary House Speaker Patrick McHenry with additional authorities which would gain Democratic vote support. The concept was to get the House through a round of funding for Israel and Ukraine aid and avoiding a shutdown, until January. However, that effort fell short as the non UniParty Republicans would not agree to the plan.
Jordan spoke briefly about that issue following the conference meeting. WATCH (46 secs):

“I can tell you, nobody in our conference can get to 217 on two rounds, and three legislative days. So I think he deserves more time,” Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), a Jordan ally, told reporters. “I’m in favor of trying. For Jordan, I would go at least another week.”

In fairly safe Huntsville Madison County Alabama there are locked outside mailboxes and we have to go in to mail things during business hours- what makes me think ballots are going be safe? Nothing! I’m ambivalent. A paralyzed House means they can’t vote to take away more of my liberty. That’s okay by me. Better they do nothing than continue caving to the left.

Breitbart News has confirmed the story is authentic. Buchanan and other members that opposed Jordan’s bid for Speaker met with the Ohio congressman on Thursday night. He reportedly is still against Jordan’s bid for Speaker. Buchanan voted for Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) for Speaker of the House.
Buchanan voted for Jordan in the first round for Speaker.

My friend in DC has no idea how long the debacle will last or who will emerge as the next GOPe operative candidate for Speaker. Moreover he/she is certain that the alleged narrative about the Jordan Team making “death threats” to members in opposition to him will be the main talking point used against him, together with emphasizing the obvious problems associated with having an inoperative House while the world is on the brink of devastating warfare.
The GOPe will have its way, regardless of the cost, in making the process an object lesson on the painful consequences of being a disobedient, conservative patriot. JMO

You’ll want to read the whole section to see the in’s and out’s of Speaker Pro Tem duration, powers, and under what circumstances they involve full and/or partial powers of Speaker of the House.
As I understand it, the Speaker Pro Tempore has the same full powers as the Speaker of the House, except after 3 days if appointed, but not voted on by Members.

As for that last sentence about members voting, that would be voting to maintain a Speaker Pro Tempore for whatever designated time frame or conditions, not the voting for the current Speaker Pro Tem to actually become Speaker of the House.
Hope I’m making at least semi-sense and clarifying instead of muddying the waters further.
The way I read the rules and how it pertains to the present situation goes something like this:
When McCarthy appointed McHenry Speaker Pro Tempore, McHenry had full power of Speaker of the House, as all appointed Speaker pro tems(tempore) do, so the full House business could have proceeded as normal for 3 days. At that 3 day point 1 of 2 options should have been taken to keep the House in session and fully operational.
#1- McHenry, having full power of the office should have appointed another different Speaker pro tem for 3 days to keep the House fully engaged. Or…
#2- Called for a vote(actually a house member would call for the vote) to keep him as Speaker pro tem until a new Speaker of the House was voted on and elected by the members or for a certain designated # of days.
As I understand it, the House under either #1 or #2 would still be in session and fully capable of carrying out all duties.
Rules don’t matter anymore, they are easily changed or ignored.

Rinos who voted against Jordan were at the White House bowling last night. Some are blaming SCALISE for sabotaging Jordan but in my mind, this theater caused Dems and rinos to vote to cancel a meeting to look at Biden family corruption- that’s the greatest benefit to lawmakers.
Almost 80% of those polled think we’re headed in the wrong direction. When polled on just policy issues, America First positions win. We have the House majority and we COULD put the demsheviks in a position to cast votes that can be used against them like the 100% vote for the IRA and ARP.
