As we rightly stop the cycle of Battered Conservative Syndrome, here’s a concrete reality we can all understand easily.
If the people who are weaponizing government really held any concern about the House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of Government holding them accountable, they would not be expanding their weaponization operations.
The White House controls the actions of the Dept of Homeland Security (DHS), FBI, Director of National Intelligence (DNI) and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), through cabinet appointments and leadership staff. Each of these agencies are expanding their domestic targeting operations, not reducing them.
That expanded targeting is happening simultaneously with the House Subcommittee on Weaponization in place, presumably an oversight body. That reality tells us all we need to know about the intentions of the congressional subcommittee and the perspective of the government agencies toward accountability; there simply isn’t any.
The DC construct of that subcommittee is a Potemkin village, a false front, intended to give the illusion of something that is factually non-existent. That’s the bitter reality of the situation, and feel free to confront any representative of DC with that reality. It is a stark, demonstrable and self-evident reality.
There’s only one way that dynamic is going to change, and that can only come from the introduction of something that currently does not exist.

On the optimistic side of that pill swallowing, federalism is working (somewhat) as a bulwark against the corrupt institutions. The state of Missouri has won key victories against the DC surveillance state with 5th Circuit Court rulings blocking the Biden administration from censoring the thoughts and speech of American citizens.
Additionally, in a key addition to the appellate court ruling, the 5th circuit has expanded their injunction to now cover CISA, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. [SEE RULING HERE]
The court has stated that CISA “shall take no actions, formal or informal, directly or indirectly, to coerce or significantly encourage social-media companies to remove, delete, suppress, or reduce, including through altering their algorithms, posted social-media content containing protected free speech.”

The professionally Republican DC effort to stop the weaponization of government has been yet another exhibition in abject failure.
Personally, I believe that failure is a feature, not a flaw.
Perhaps President Trump meeting with Republican leadership on Tuesday can introduce something new that changes the dynamic. However, given the nature of how professionally Republican politicians like Jim Jordan operate in government, as one wing of a UniParty effort, I wouldn’t count on it.

I led the conversation by praising Representative Rose’s earlier vote against the Continuing Resolution. I then asked for his vote to vacate. She took my contact information and said that my comments would be forwarded to the Representative.
I was disappointed to see that my Representative did not vote along with Rep. Burchett.
Representative Rose had no primary opposition in 2022. Hoping he does this year 😉

The unexpected has happened. McCarthy is finished, gone when few thought it would happen. This is all politics, where leopards can change their spots. There are many calculations to be made over the weekend, and Jordan might redeem himself and where others may redeem themselves. Be positive and wait for the outcomes next week. Will President Trump exert influence over the next few days? If he doesn’t or if he fails to influence there’s not much point to any of it at all. On the other hand, if he does affect the momentum and if a plan can be made – and then executed – then the tide will be turned. This is a key moment.

I believe no House business as a whole body can take place until a new Speaker is elected. Committees can run, but no legislation can come to the floor.
And that very question makes a very good statement on why our “representatives” have failed us. Would not a true representative of the people who elected him/her always post just such needed information on their official congressional site for their constituents understanding of a current situation, vote, or law?
Think about it, if you would. This is a new situation, an interim house speaker, that the people are interested in–Why is there no automatic congressional mechanism that quickly posts easy to understand (and at the peoples’ fingertips) direct and useful information like this?
How about not just congressional members having at least 72 hours to read a bill before a vote, but the American public also having that ability?
There are so many easy and practical measures our congress critters could take to truly represent their constituents and keeping them informed that they don’t bother doing is rather telling.

Let’s say Trump somehow becomes Speaker of the house. An interesting fact comes into play: In the event that the offices of both president and vice president are vacant simultaneously, the order of succession is the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the president pro tempore of the Senate, followed by the heads of the cabinet departments in the order in which they were created, beginning with the secretary of state. With the level of corruption increasingly exposed daily I can imagine such a scenario and would welcome it.

An anonymous FBI official cries on Arkin’s shoulder, explaining that the FBI simply has to prevent domestic terrorism and insurrections by Trump supporters, but by doing so “runs the risk of provoking the very anti-government activists that the terrorism agencies hope to counter.” In other words, the FBI is going to create the threat it warns about.

The U.S. House of Representatives has just removed its Speaker for the first time in history, primarily over his secret side deal with Biden to get funding to Ukraine. Some of the current options on the table for his replacement would spell disaster for Ukraine as they are all staunchly anti-funding Republicans.
The narrative is now coming fairly out into the open on both sides. In the West, top officials are actively speaking on how Putin plans to “fatigue” the West into giving up on Ukraine, while Russian officials like Medvedev are openly admitting to this fact, and stating that the West will give up on Ukraine soon.
The West has never looked weaker, not only in general, but specifically vis a vis their support for Ukraine. All of their recent attempts at portraying a unified front look increasingly hollow and desperate. The facade is literally falling apart before our very eyes, showcased most poignantly in this Sky News interview with Ukrainian MP Lesia Vasylenko, which was taken down soon after because of how inconvenient her “slip ups” were in admitting that Russia is winning the war….

I agree with almost everything he wrote in the article, except the first line. Kevin McCarthy was removed mostly for other things – the CR passage, the budget bills, the promises he made in order to be voted in as Speaker. The secret deal about money for Ukraine was a part of it, but certainly not the primary cause.
I think we’re being played. I believe the powers that be are wanting to get out of Ukraine. Maybe they have grifted as much as they can from the war and are very aware that many are not buying it anymore. What if Republicans are playing the game of disruptors and stopping the money flow purposely. The purpose being that they alow Ukraine to loose the war all while Republicans taking the blame for stopping the aid!
Ukraine falls, everyone got their cash, Zelenski gets dealt with and Republicans are then to blame for allowing Russia to win. I wouldn’t put it past the rino’s and dems in coming up with such a plan where Republicans take the blame and are called out as Putin simpathysers for the next year or so.
