Frightening and yet very few are talking about this…data from England should be front-page news everywhere.
I think fentanyl numbers have risen dramatically in some of those states marked car accident or homicide.
Not that the fentanyl isn’t homicide in many cases.
These are top causes of death, not a breakdown of all causes. It’s no surprise to me that suicides and overdose deaths afflict the 18-44s significantly more than those in the older and younger groups. Older folks die of heart disease and cancer. Minors who die, mostly die in car accidents. The charts cover a 20-year period. Most who become addicted do tend to be between 18-44. Did LeFevre not notice until now that street drug usage (fentanyl and other opioids) has become much more deadly, because the drugs themselves are that much stronger?
Not just stronger, Mikey, but also even more importantly Local and in some instances State Governments are greatly increasing availability as well as enabling via free paraphernalia, free places to “safely crash”, and access to free overdose remedies.
Even in my days in the 18-44 age bracket, there were nearly equal deadly drugs and drug cocktails available to be had … the difference is government enabled increased access, celebrity glorification and social normalization of drug abuse.

IIRC, the US is also not a member of the ‘Paris Accord’. But the US met the goals of CO2 reduction, largely because of increased use of natural gas, while none of the eurpoean paris accord members did.

It’s been true for awhile that the lower classes don’t really marry, the lower middle class is practicing serial monogamy with multiple marriages/live in situations and lots of half/step siblings, the middle middle has started to marry less and divorce more when they do.

Their kids are getting an outsize benefit beyond the higher incomes of their parents as they overwhelmingly come from two parent homes where they don’t have to deal with divorce, step parents, step siblings/half siblings and the disfunction they can come from that.
The dirty truth is that the white liberals with graduate/professional degrees live 1950s style private lives when married. They vote for, celebrate, promote antifamily policies and activities but certainly don’t risk their own financial well-being or their children’s future success by living that way. Go to the wealthy suburbs and you’ll find two parent nuclear families with multi-degreed moms that stay at home with their kids while dad works. Those children then have tens of thousands of dollars invested in their travel sports, private coaches, private tutors, test prep classes, expensive school trips to Europe or pricey ski resorts, etc.

Both my grandfathers were active Masons, and since I was taught that a requirement for membership was some family ties – I’m pretty sure that my great-grandfathers were Masons. None of them were lawyers or judges, bankers or politicians. A couple of them had some money for awhile, but not generational wealth. I cannot speak for my great grandfather’s belief in God, but both of my grandfather’s did. And my Father, though, he did not like organized religion, or dogma of any kind.
My grandfathers and my Dad were GOOD men. They were all crazy about their wives, worked hard, loved their children, and raised them to be useful members of society.

Many eyes have fallen on California Governor Gavin Newsom. He’s even agreed to a debate with Florida governor and former presidential contender Ron DeSantis. The debate seemed unlikely to occur because DeSantis, awkward and somewhat abrasive when interacting with others unscripted, is requesting a more formal debate structure with pre-prepared segments while Newsom insisted on a live and free-form debate. However, the two governors just reached an agreement. The showdown will be held on November 30. I have no doubt it will be a disaster for DeSantis.

The issue with the country isn’t really that this or that policy is popular or unpopular, but rather that there is a large and growing segment of the population that can be convinced to support virtually anything, no matter how obviously insane or unacceptable it is, presented to them by the liberal media.
During the COVID hysteria, over half of Democrats stated in a poll that they would support legislation to prevent unvaccinated people from leaving their homes at all. Nearly half of them said they thought prison time or fines would be appropriate for people who questioned the efficacy of vaccines.

Some background with respect to the DC Federal Court hearing the January 6 Sedition Case vs President Trump as well as President Trump’s current motion to have the Judge in the case recused.
Case The Circuit Court of DC falls under the supervision of Chief Justice Roberts.
It will be interesting if this goes through the appeals process, which I hope happens.

Outspoken conservative media personality Bill O’Reilly joined Tucker Carlson (the man who replaced him in his primetime Fox News slot) for a wide-ranging discussion of the dismal state of the world, and why progressive politicians are to blame.
“America has entered the age of disorder, and it’s because of the progressive movement,” O’Reilly lamented.
President Biden, in my opinion, is diminished mentally, doesn’t know what he’s really doing from day-to-day. You can see that in his public statements,” O’Reilly remarked, adding that “the progressives like that, because the people who control him inside the White House can tell him anything, and he’ll do it.”
O’Reilly said that Ron Klain and Susan Rice were the original string-pullers, but since their departure from The White House, their assistants took their place “basically telling Joe what to do and say.”
He argued that Biden has harkened in an “age of disorder” which has resulted in the emergence of Black Lives Matter, higher taxes, lax crime laws, and progressive indoctrination of children at young ages.
“The more money you take from people, the less power they have, and the progressives want to run everything, including telling your children what to think when they’re five years old,” O’Reilly said.
“And most Americans don’t get it, because the press is working with the progressive movement and suppresses all this.”
However, O’Reilly notes that, given the constant overwhelming bias evident in the Biden admin’s judicial actions, it is becoming too hard for media to suppress the reality of political persecution:
“The American people understand what this is… they understand that the documents in Mar A Lago basement parallel the documents in Joe Biden’s garage. Yes it’s the same thing, but one guy gets raided and charged and the other guy,” remains under an opaque investigation.

I decided to check the PowerLine Blog to see the comments about last night’s FOX debate debacle.
Scott Johnson provided his minimalist view of each candidate. He pointed out some of the less memorable comments by each candidate. He did think Christie was the best communicator and other candidates could learn from him. He commented, about Christie, that his mission is to save the Republican Party from Donald Trump. “ I Think Is A Worthy Mission”
Many of the subscribers that commented on his article seemed to have a more traditional Republican Establishment view about the candidates and the Republican Party. Much like Scott Johnson, I believe.
They probably wish McConnell could run or maybe Romney could run again or even Cheney.
Our country has not gotten to be the mess we are in today solely because of the Democrats. The Establishment Republicans have done their part in helping. I think PowerLine mostly supports

For anyone paying attention, the world view coming out of the US State Department has very little to do with the US Bill of Rights, and everything to do with leftist fever dreams of trannies, LGBTQ, suppression of opposing voices, etc. What was the State Department pushing during the fall of Afghanistan? Gay Pride Month? In Afghanistan?! We are so screwed.
