On the night of the second GOPe ‘first loser’ debate, President Donald Trump will be in Detroit giving remarks to striking union workers, pipefitters and various trade workers.

Trump is planning to travel to Detroit on the day of the next Republican primary debate, according to two Trump advisers with knowledge of the plans, injecting himself into the labor dispute between striking autoworkers and the nation’s leading auto manufacturers.
The trip, which will include a prime-time speech before current and former union members, is the second consecutive primary debate that Mr. Trump is skipping to instead hold his own counterprogramming. He sat for an interview with the former Fox News host Tucker Carlson that posted online during the first G.O.P. presidential debate in August.
The decision to go to Michigan just days after the United Auto Workers went on strike shows the extent to which Mr. Trump wants to be seen as looking past his primary rivals — and the reality that both he and his political apparatus are already focused on the possibility of a rematch with President Biden.
So instead of attending the next G.O.P. debate — on Sept. 27 in California at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum — Mr. Trump intends to speak to over 500 workers, with his campaign planning to fill the room with plumbers, pipefitters, electricians, as well as autoworkers, according to one of the Trump advisers familiar with the planning. Mr. Trump has not directly addressed the wage demands of striking workers and has attacked the union leadership, but he has tried to more broadly cast himself on the side of autoworkers. (read more)

While the politics of labor leadership often align with the Democrat Party, sometimes against the wishes of the members, Donald Trump has a unique way of winning the hearts of the workers, while drawing a respectful distinction with union leadership. Quite simply, Trump knows the game and uses his own personal style to authentically connect to the workforce.

This reminds me of the morning after the 2008 GOP Convention. McCain just wanted a woman on the ticket – had no idea he had grabbed a tiger by the tail. Some media talking head was interviewing Palin and asked her what she’d do first.
Palin said she and her husband were going up to Michigan to start campaigning – that the GOP had already written Michigan off as unwinnable but she knew she could win the state for McCain. The next day the McCain campaign started to isolate her – letting her campaign by herself. Palin started drawing crowds 10x the size of McCain’s.

You’re right about that. Best toaster I ever used was at my grandparents’ house when I was a kid. You had to manually flip the bread to toast both sides by dropping the hinged door down and letting the bread slide before raising the door back up. Very clever and fun to use. Toast was perfection!

I always worry about President Trump when he goes into Dem run ghettos. I still remember what happened when he had to cancel Chicago in 2015 after the dems hired violent agitators and thugs to attack his supporters.
President Trump gets right to the heart of every issue he takes on. I don’t have to nor do I agree with every stance he takes, but I know in comparison to the rest of the Republican Party, he does what he feels is in the best interest of the American people.
The American people have always been first and foremost on his mind whenever he made decisions as president.
Good. And it’s up to all of us to ensure he wins by such landslide margins that it’s clear that not only was Trump’s strategy correct but also beat down the eGOP and then hold their heads under water through the summer and Fall.
It’s probably time to start thinking about how to upend the circus show know as the “convention”. This is probably the last election in which the GOP will be considered a viable alternative to Democrats. I don’t think anybody really believes this any more. The upcoming convention may be as much about what replaces the GOP as a ceremonial nomination.
Use the time to get people fired up to battle the election fraud that we already know is coming. Cut the convention to a day. None of the current GOP candidates gets a second of speaking time.

In a fair election of 100 voters, if 80 % of possible voters vote, and 70% of them vote Trump (56)…. (24 to Joe) , then vote fraud is impossible. Stuffing boxes won’t work.

I believe women realize now that abortion has not become illegal without Roe protection and will start to see reason on this issue.
President Trump should reiterate the fact that abortion is now an issue before each state and he will not be signing federal bills regarding abortion if he is reelected. Not his jurisdiction.

Conservatives have been allowing the left to incrementally take over our nation for 100 years. The left gradually wins, over and over and over, because the conservative’s compromise over and over and over, again.
When will it stop? When conservatives quit compromising, period.

This probably will bring both sides to the table as they try to figure out how to end the strike without the appearance that President Trump had a role in ending the impasse.
My thoughts to tango my guess is the big three fall on their swords for a promise of a 100% federal grant for electric transition.

He’s been working with the men and women who built America, and the labor unions who support them for decades. He wants to make America great again, which is in our common interest. He knows where it all intersects. I trust the process in this regard.
Why would anyone want to watch a bunch of election fraud deniers with no grassroots support, especially when they all already do in fact know Biden didnt win.

Trump knows how to deal with unions. During lunch break in NYC, he would visit his construction sites and talk with the workers eating their lunch. He listened to their suggestions and concerns. I knew this before he was President and it was reinforced during his Presidency.

Trump knows the basic law of business is that you are only as good as the people who work for you. By appealing to the labor force to Make America Great Again, he is reaching out to the muscle and spirit that will rebuild what the Democrats have destroyed!
This strategy will win him the general. I worked as a computer programmer at a North Branch NJ manufacturing factory in 2016, and saw the union guys passing phones around watching Trump rallies during their lunch break…they absolutely LOVED Trump.

Battery production and battery malfunctions are both a problem and PRICE is a problem. But, much bigger that those three is that the EV isn’t up to the job of providing worry free transportation. Lots of stories about the need to find a refueling station and the number of times during a trip even the heater doesn’t hold up cause it uses so much Electric energy.
Now, I’m sure the diehards will disagree but those of us who can see the forest with the trees standing know better.
As for those liberal weak individuals who are running Ford and GM, I hope the union shuts them down the toilet and the sooner, the better.
