This is not going to come as a surprise to most readers here, but this testimonial by Marlon Bateman deserves to be shared. This story reflects what the core of Donald Trump is about.
Marlon Bateman – “Last week, I had the honor to accompany several Gold Star parents to meet with President Trump in Bedminster. These parents lost their children when Abbey Gate was bombed in the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, which was orchestrated by Joe Biden.
While Biden continues to ignore these families’ requests for answers, President Trump listened to them, he mourned with them, and he was genuinely devastated for their loss. But he also mourned for the Country’s loss of these amazing Americans.”
One hour came and went quicker than anticipated. Our time with the President was up — or so I thought. Many families had requested President Trump sign photographs of their sons and daughters. He then proceeded to spend nearly two hours signing hats, books, and even a pair of red, white, and blue bedazzled pair of high heel shoes! He spent time with each individual family celebrating and learning about our 13 brave American heroes.
“After each family was done, they were escorted upstairs to dinner. We did not expect President Trump to join us, but to my surprise, he came up and joined us for dinner.
Everyone erupted in cheers as he walked in. Lee Greenwood’s ‘God Bless The U.S.A’ was blaring on the speakers. He proceeded to spend another couple of hours with us and even busted out an iPad to play songs for couples to slow dance to. He even went into his all-time favorite wrestling intros!
At that moment I could see the anxiety, stress, and anger that these parents had carried for so long disappear from their faces. It was a moment of peace. They were there to celebrate the heroes they raised. Their babies grew up to be the best our country had to offer, and they were getting some of the recognition they deserved.
As the night ended and President Trump gave his farewell, tears and overwhelming emotions could not be held back. He did something for these families that the current administration has refused to do and was incapable of doing — giving an overdue moment of recognition and solidarity for their children.
Not a bullshit statement from the White House, not John Kirby sending his deepest condolences on CNN, not Joe Biden continually glancing at his watch while the bodies of their children were carried off the tarmac. He gave them hope that accountability and justice will be coming. Our country owes it to their children to continue the pursuit for truth and accountability. We must continue to tell their stories and say their names.” (source)
As a female servicemember who struggled for years with infertility (and had to work darn hard to find a guy in the first place), that picture of Nicole Gee always hits me in the gut. So much life was stolen from them all; she never got the chance to hold her own babies, her parents will never have their grandchildren. It took me a long time to have kids, and it’s ultimately the reason I’m not there anymore. I don’t know why that makes me so angry for Nicole, but it does.
What happened in Afghanistan is a disgrace, spitting on the sacrifice of hundreds of thousands of us.
I fail to grasp why the USA has to suffer all this sacrifice of our young adult lives over my 70 years.
Vietnam, “We have to stop the spread of communism”, 58k deaths and Vietnam is still run by communists, but we buy our furniture from them now.
Edwin Starr – “War (what is it good for, absolutely nothing).”
PDJT, despite his style, he’s one of our greatest Presidents.
PDJT’s style has never bothered me. He refuses the tyranny of being politically correct. His take on the wars – he “wants people to stop DYING.”
So simple, direct, and authentic.
What do you mean, ” despite his style”?? I’m tired of this moral preening! 😠
President Trump’s style was perfect for every situation, in my opinion. 💖
Critiquing others for their ‘tone’ or ‘style’ is a form of diminishing them. It’s a slippery slope the lefties use as an indirect weapon to disqualify or smear people. John Youngton’s comment above “despite his style” proves he considers candidates based on their “appeal” and “congeniality”. Apparently he never listened to Rush Limbaugh wax eloquently on how the left twist our values from “substance over style” into “style over substance”. Wake up John Youngton this isn’t a congeniality contest.
Like slow Joe contuosly referring to President Trump as “the last guy hat had this job” or “my predecessor” or some garbage like that. The ultimate in disrespect.
Joe and hs wife are so low-class and tacky.
Good Post, Thanks.
I agree. It’s like saying Yogi Berra was great, if he could only improve his grammar. President Trump may be the last authentic man in America and is beloved for it.
There’s a saying and I don’t know if I got it right but it’s something like ‘when people have inhaled manure all their lives, roses smell funny.’
When people are used to the ‘style’ of slick talking, lying ivy league politicians for decades and decades, and then truth telling, no holds barred, no bs leaders like Pres Trump come forward it’s as if they can’t let go of the manure.
I love his style. He knows how to handle every situation. It just that others don’t have that knack, aren’t used to what it takes to deal with those evil people, and it takes them back a bit. Not me. I thought he was/is great.
I laughed my head off in the 2016 campaign, starting with “Rosie O’Donnell”. I miss those days.
Yes, President Donald Trump IS and always will be one of our greatest Presidents, and I also like his style. It is a unique part of the man, and what helps MAKE HIM GREAT!!!!
We didn’t. It was all a richman’s game.
President Trump took aim at the “swamp” … [The Cabal] and they knew it.
So his style is tough, relentless, and brash. So what!?! He’s the in-your-face street fighter we’ve needed for decades to clean out the D.C. mob that’s trampled on our God-given liberties for which so many have fought and died.
“The Star Spangled Banner” — great history lesson
Yes, ma’am. I remember that photo & her captioning of “I love my job.” Spoken by someone who is in regular danger, hungry, tired, filthy but still containing that thread that makes us human. That’s the picture that makes me want to put half the regime through the Big Morbark™. Can’t go there often – it’s toxic.
Maybe because it never should’ve happened in the first place. It was all a vain attempt at giving slow Joe bragging rights. He wanted to be able to say that HE was the one who “ended the war”. And 13 lives went up in smoke for nothing.
As Obama did before Joe, when he took the American presence out of a gradually improving Iraq (after a tenuous but genuine military victory under General Petraeus), just so he could say that HE “ended the war”. Obama scuttled the possibility of a Status of Forces Agreement, which would have set up a minimal security presence in the country for an agreed upon period, subject to renewal if desired by both sides. Because he wanted to be that hero the hippies used to dream of. What a perfect team he and Biden were.
In the spirit of “pursuing the truth and accountability” that Mr. Bateman calls us to, can anybody provide a paragraph synopsis of why we had American kids in Afghanistan for twenty years in the first place, such that any needed to die, such that we now find ourselves in the position of having to critique the night-and-day difference between a Trump and Biden handling of their tragic, not to mention needless, deaths?
I believe Bateman falls short of his own invocation to truth and accountability when he appears to put his finger on the ‘nub’ of the situation as being, “the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, which was orchestrated by Joe Biden.”
A disastrous final chapter to be sure. But the prior twenty years were not exactly pro forma preamble either.
I’m as detesting of Biden as the next guy. And I thank President Trump for greeting these bereft parents with appropriate dignity and genuine concern.
But that’s not entirely scratching the itch for me.
Dear American parents, STOP offering up your 20 year olds as human grist for the CIA’s poppy fields and Halliburton’s EPS. And not just under Biden either. The same plea should have been made to Bush 1 and 2, Clinton, Obama and a few others before that.
Eh-hem. I don’t believe any parent is ‘offering up (their) 20 yr old’. Their 20 yr old is enlisting as a legal adult. Methinks you may get your wish however, as the current leadership – political and military – is giving pause to any potential recruit with their focus on woke issues rather than military readiness. Not to mention the soft, metrosexual boys our society is currently raising…
Many young people offer themselves up because the guts have been ripped from the economy and they see few other options.
Of course this is always mixed with some noble individual sentiment. The aristocracy hates us, discourage the young and hopeful from allowing themselves to be betrayed.
Oh nonsense. At least it was nonsense 20 years ago when the first of my two military sons signed up, both of whom went to the Middle East and did what THEY saw as their duty. However, it is a different world and a different U.S. than it was back then, post 9/11. Recruitment is actually in crisis — young people are NOT falling into it in order to get a paycheck, on the contrary, they are declining to join up because they see the training and qualifying process being swallowed up by woke B.S. Why would any young adult join a dangerous profession that tries to attract applicants with a drag-queen recruiter (Navy) and then screens its applicants for their racial and philosophical profiles?
I often wonder what WWII would have been, had we not had a generation of youngsters hardened to hardship and self-reliance bred into them by the Great Depression.
Yea sure. Turn over the military to the leftists so that on orders from our totalitarian leaders they will willingly open fire on Americans for the smallest excuse. Really a good idea if your objective is to hasten our destruction.
It’s the Banks, world-wide.
And our turning away from God.
God bless and protect President Trump.
Trump is pure class. When he was President what would almost bring him to tears is when he visited Walter Reed Hospital to speak to the injured soldiers.
The Neocon filth has done more to destroy the country than the current fascist and communists. It’s because of W that Obama was elected . Now the Bush gang are allies with the Communists Democrats trying to destroy MAGA, Trump, Paxton, and anyone close to the movement.
This is exactly what I expect to see…and read about from the President of the United States.
Semper Fidelis
AMEN!!!
I write this with tears down my cheeks. This is absolutely one of the best tributes, not only to the fallen heroes, but to President Trump. This man has a heart and soul, and a genuine love of people and our Country. (Something not seen in the current ‘resident’)
Trump 2024 unwavering!
Something not seen, I think, since Ronnie!
My son got out of the core right before this happened.
He knew the husband of the Gee woman .
What a mess we have .
Nice gesture by big D !
So MUCH more than a gesture. PDJT didn’t spend personal time with those families for politics. He did it because he cares about people. Biden went to Maui and spoke about his kitchen fire in front of people who had lost loved ones and their homes. He spent no personal time with them. PERIOD! See the difference? THAT was a gesture from Biden.
“Big D”, I like that!
The last time Americans had this much hope about a leader was the early 60’s. By the end of 68 it seems all that hope had died. I wonder what happened?
It’s a baffling mystery wrapped inside an enigma.
The CIA happened.
Their employers, the central bankers, happened!
SPIT!!!
The Democrats happened.
My grandson went to high school and played hockey with Daegan Page. I occasionally gave him a ride home with my grandson. He was such a sweet and quiet kid.
That breaks my heart to think of him as a teen hockey player.
These young adults, so young, to have died like this. And to know, to absolutely know without a doubt, this would never!have happened under President Trump.
Stolen elections are life and death.
My President Trump is a mensch! What a man! So great of him to honor the families & their fallen sons & daughters. Makes me even angrier with the illegally installed pResident in the White House.
With his vacation time at 40%, his refusal to visit E. Palestine, his not bothering to meet with these gold star families to APOLOGIZE for his horrible optices on the tarmac as their children’s bodies were lowered off the plane; his first saying NO COMMENT and then finally going to Maui after it burned, and making it all about how HE almost lost his cat and his Corvette in a KITCHEN FIRE (while HUndreds of children on maui are still missing)- Joe Biden is an embarrassment and his entire cabinet has the WORST OPTICS in modern history- his latest gaffe: He’s going to visit – NOT NYC…NOT DC- ALASKA on 9/11!!! WHo are this moron’s advisers? History wil NOT be kind to Joe Biden- nor should it be.
THAT is a hugely gross understatement!!!
This is why we love our President Trump. The People’s President.
THAT’S OUR PRESIDENT!!!
The generals bungled the evacuation from the start – why didn’t they hold onto Bagram until the very last? They also could have airlifted several billions of dollars worth of military equipment back to the US. Absolutely a cluster fark. Better yet would have been to tell the Taliban that we’re keeping Bagram in exchange for letting them take over the rest of the country.
It was intentional, had to be. I donate to a ministry that has gotten put near 10,000 Americans and Afghani helpers out of Afghanistan since the withdrawal. Worthy outfit.

Wow. Very powerful!
So young.
Just to clarify, Petty Officer Soviak’s rate was Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class.
Democrats think this is corny. That’s why they are unfit to lead this great nation.
Dead American soldiers are ‘corny’ to these demons.
I’m not crying…
