That made it look like the voter punched out too many chads and would invalidate the ballot. SCOTUS saw the strategy (via Republican lawyers) and finally stepped in and called a halt to the attempted steal. Bush had always led by a slim margin but the lead kept shrinking every time the ballot cards were re-counted. Didn’t require a college degree to figure out what was happening.
