Locally, they must count write-ins, for there is no registration requirement. Unlike many states, if they keep PDJT off the ballot here, I can and will write his name in and they must count it. Next opportunity to change the law is 2024’s legislative session. Will some try to deprive President Trump? I don’t know. You do not have to state a party when registering to vote. If you want to participate in a party primary, you state your preference then and pledge to support the nominee. How they can enforce that, I don’t know. I do know that after 2022’s shenanigans that happened in the state, but not where I am; there are voices that want to require registration by party. That has not happened, yet.
My understanding is that it depends on the state.
There will be all kinds of shenanigans to make sure it won’t be accepted. Look at how states are trying to purge the GOPe of Trump loyalists.
