At first blush, the following question might seem like a sideways throwaway snark at the professionally political. However, at the heart of it, there’s a truth in the question I am genuinely curious about.
Have you ever noticed that Donald Trump supporters have a better sense of humor than the supporters of all other political candidates?
I mean, it’s just a truthful observation. Trump supporters are just plain funnier, have a fun disposition and are humorous people.
Like many of you, I’ve followed politics for a long time, and this is just one of those random observations that I have noticed.
The people who support President Donald Trump just have a much greater sense of humor. Why is that?

They need to be constantly upset, offended, and outraged in order to set the emotional stage for present and future believers. They have to convince people that everything is horrible and will only get better if you join Their Club.
Of course, in order to keep their believers they cannot ever achieve their nirvana. But it is always just 10 years away. Hang in there. They have to sell the idea of Less Misery is not That Bad.
I think that seething anger is another factor plus walking around with a chip on one’s shoulder.
Ultimately, I believe that there is the Love of God and a Spirit of Joy combined with the capacity to spread Love.
Leftists tend to be sour folks – insisting that someone else improve their lives or hating those who have made their own lives better.
A sense of the absurd is lost on those who can’t distinguish between normalcy and absurdity.
It true they don’t know the difference due to lack of basic common sense. A friend of mine says abortion is better for kids who may end up in foster care. He says his mom works in that field and the kids are miserable. So, kill them first.
That’s the standard thinking that makes sense to them. There’s a true disconnect going on.
I have sometimes thought we need a court jester within our legislatures providing a no holds barred commentary on what is said and done from the floor or chair.
Adding a jester to the legislature would bring our total to 536 in DC.

Not just intellect, but also common sense. Common sense is needed to understand the normal response to an act. Most humor is based in the actor doing something that no one with common sense would do.
There is also the ridicule of stereotypes, where a group of people act according to their “traditions” but it goes awry. To laugh at one’s own group’s stereotypes, requires acknowledging the human condition, the humanity of making mistakes, sometimes the same mistakes over and over. In a word, humility not arrogance.
Did you know serial killers don’t show emotions? No laugh, no smiles, stoic. Kill like making a Samich.
How far away is a liberal from that description.

A lot of people these days are just uptight. We need to be happy warriors. And a good joke from time to time helps that. It’s refreshing to have a candidate that is invested in the REAL affairs of this country, and has a great personality while doing it.
It’s what we are warriors of that is the key metric. When you have peace with God, you get the peace of God and that enables you to laugh even in difficult and challenging circumstances. Despite the various trials and tribulations, there is a foundation built upon a confidence of ultimate victory.

You can find humor in most every situation, and if you don’t take yourself seriously 100 % of the time, you are a Trump supporter and naturally funnier.
I was with a group of people on Zoom last week, none of whom I knew. I’m sure they are all wonderful people, but they were mostly so serious. When something is funny, I laugh. Others keep a straight face. Isn’t laughter a gift from God? Shouldn’t we enjoy the many amusing moments in normal human interactions? I’m not talking about jokes; life itself is often funny. And we should be able to laugh at ourselves, since we can be quite ridiculous creatures!
Misery is unsustainable.
Americans by nature are not miserable people. This is where the rubber meets the road. If a miserable person sees someone that is happy and uses laughter and humor, they might want to drop all that misery and find out where our joy comes from.
Joy is much more contagious than misery.

Regular everyday people generally don’t care about politics, and down to earth people usually have a pretty good sense of humor. I think there’s something about humility and humor that go hand in hand.
It’s not Trump – it’s who he tapped into, who he speaks to. Real people haven’t been engaged in politics, because for 40+ years national politics never really cared about them and they knew it. It’s been a millionaire/billionaire’s world since the 60s or 70s. State media existed only to gaslight the population and manipulate them.
Until Trump, you couldn’t get a Presidential candidate with these policy platforms – supporting the working class, anti-interventionism, America First, Main Street over Wall Street – it did not exist in one candidate. To get one, you’d have to take other things you didn’t want. And ordinary people in the U.S. by a substantial majority want all these things. Regular people don’t want a draft instated to fight Russia in Ukraine so Senators can use it as a money laundering operation and the MIC can raid taxpayer coffers to support it. The propaganda machine runs 24/7 now to drum up tepid support from the general population for endless wars under false pretenses.
Trump found the ordinary people that make this country go, the salt of the earth who nobody cared about before, who nobody listened to, nobody represented at a national level. It so happens they have a sense of humor. Trump connected with them – candidates before simply talked at them (aside from Reagan).
Every liberal I know is a miserable human being. I can find something humorous in just about anything. There are times I have to keep it to myself just because I do have a sense of decency. Oh…that is something else liberals do not have.
I have a different view than others. The liberals I know are not bad people. They are intelligent and often very successful.
I have thought much about this because I love my family and friends who are 200% sure in their liberal rightness.
First there are different kinds of liberals. Those who are true believers and those who are frothing at the mouth annoying people.
I will only address the first category as all liberals drank the Kool Aide but the latter frothing ones are just self righteous jerks like any other self righteous jerks.
1 Liberals are wired differently. They are more artistically creative yet they see arguments in a more black white manner…. Good bad. Right wrong.
2. They will almost always tell you how they were bullied as a child.
I don’t think they are liberal because they were bullied, but I think that that they were bullied because they had a poor ability to deal in social situations.
They are very often book- worm smart, can remember facts and do calculations with rules but they are not wise in seeing complex situations without clear rules, like social situations.
This jives with the lack of humor in confrontational situations.
As kids they would have looked to authority figures like the teacher or “cool kids” to get assurance for self worth since the playground is difficult for them to navigate.
As a result they are easy to manipulate by controlling media, movies, comedy and the people of influence.
That is why they can believe one thing like all war is bad and then the very next day believe the Ukraine war is imperative.
In short, they look to authority figures to tell them how to evaluate the world around them. If you question those rules, you upset them because everyone must agree with those rules so they can be smart and right.
They are often very nice people but they can’t flex from this and so it is worthless to argue with them using logic.

It’s fun. Just express a bigger concern that they can’t disagree with. You can get more and more ridiculous, as it is just about EXPRESSING concern.. You need not ever intend to make the sacrifice you are demanding of others.
For example, if they are going on about fossil fuels and they live in a big house, talk about how “we” don’t need such big houses cause… climate change.
If they talk about homeless, point out there are proposals to house homeless in homes with extra bedrooms (like theirs). Sure you think that idea is ridiculous and stupid, but you CARE more.
You win their game only by expressing that you care MORE than they do.

People who lack a sense of humor typically suffer from a variety of disorders such as schizophrenia, autism, asperger’s and/or bipolar disorder. In some cases it can be caused from a traumatic childhood but even then it is usually more prevalent when the mind does not develop normally. Turn on any left wing media, late night shows or the like and you can see how it’s geared to trigger people with these disorders.
We’ve already found that most liberals are on some kind of drug for emotional issues or other mental disorders.. The drugs and vaccines pushed out by big pharma only cause these numbers to swell further.

From the time he became a candidate for President of the United States, I observed that Donald Trump possesses the mannerisms, characteristics and sense of timing of the old Jewish comedians of the 1950s-80s. I’m talking about Borscht Belt comics like Henny Youngman, Milton Berle, Shecky Greene, Jackie Mason, Jerry Lewis, Buddy Hackett, Phillis Diller and Joan Rivers. And what are comedians known for, pointing out the obvious, often uncomfortable truths of life with humor. Think about it, Trump’s packed house rallies are like Bob Hope’s USO tours for the troops (without the girls). I guess you have to be in your 70s or older to get what I’m talking about.
