Against the backdrop of 1,000,000+ small donors each contributing an average of $34 to President Trump last quarter, Rupert Murdoch’s media outlet quickly jumped to the typeset to proclaim Ron DeSantis, as measured by billionaire contributions, as the richest political candidate in U.S. history.
Buried near the end of their article they note this, “A significant portion of Never Back Down’s fundraising was money transferred from funds originally raised to support DeSantis’ 2022 gubernatorial re-election.”

Nowhere in the article do they want to even touch the issue of average contribution amount, which is likely in the $300/$500 range because it’s mostly BIG DOLLAR donors and professional political bundlers. Hence the Yale Club dinner in New York City last week.
The $6,600/plate appearance was the latest effort by Team DeSantis to connect to the ordinary working-class voter he needs to try and regain footing after his effort has fallen short of the Sea Island billionaires’ expectations.

This seems a bit too silly too post but it actually happened. I was fishing on Amelia Island, one of the Sea Islands here in NE Florida a couple of weeks ago. A shark unexpectedly took my bait. After a half hour fighting it to the shore and beaching it, a lady who had been watching the excitement asked me, “Is that DeSantis you have there or is that his brother?” I decided it was neither of them so I got the hook out of his mouth and pushed that poor old shark back out into the surf, letting him go free. It’s a darned good job it wasn’t DeSantis as I would have taken him to a taxidermist and hung him on my living room wall.
Gonna be in Fernandina Beach next week. Maybe I’ll get one of those little red wagons with the big sand tires and become a day-timer surf fisherman? Casey is seriously challenged with fashion. What is she wearing? We all love yoga pants but the “Camo print leggings” and T-Shirt are not Her style. An obvious fake effort to relate to Her version of Iowa women.
As a former military wife…I recall the wives, especially the higher ranking officers wives (hint) dressing for events…in dignified and LADYLIKE sundresses that did not leave anything to the imagination–if summer–with a nice hat to keep the sun off their faces.

I think it’s Brian Cates, the former “Stealth Jeff” on Twitter during the early Trump administration pushing the theory that Sessions was a good guy running a sting on the bad guys.

Breast cancer is very survivable depending on what flavor you get. My neighbor just went through it and since we are close, I can tell you what she went through. A mammogram shows you have. Then other tests are done. She refused chemo and radiation and just wanted it removed.
She went for a lumpectomy over a mastectomy. After surgery she compromised and had proton targeted radiation. She was borderline but was able to receive it face down rather than on her back with her arms in a uncomfortable position. It was 16 days of one radiation dosage and then 4 days of “boost” shots. Boost shots are higher dosage. Her symptoms were minimal – a sun tan, no blistering weeping etc.. She is also in excellent shape and stayed hydrated. She drank an electrolyte drink for energy – of course sugar free. After her radiation treatment she’d go for a walk – maybe 15-20 minutes. It helped her with the fatigue and she felt better emotionally. We live near a woods and creek and there is plenty of wild life – deer, raccoons, chipmunks etc..
Her radiation sessions for the first 16 days were 2-3 minutes each and her position was aligned with lasers. At most those sessions were 5 minutes each. The “boost” sessions were less than 1 minute. She is now done with that and they are trying to talk her into chemo, and another toxic brew along with taking estrogen suppressant pills for 5 years. She has cancer elsewhere in remission so she will most likely decline on chemo again and this other toxic brew to be infused and just go with the pills. With chemo they do offer a “cold cap” that supposedly stops hair loss on your head but it is my understanding you lose all your hair on the rest of your body – eyebrows too.
She is not the wife of a governor. Sadly her two grown boys and their wives didn’t have the time for her, so we help her when we can – taking her to and from the therapy and doctor appointments. We didn’t want her driving and the hospital also wants someone to take on that task especially after surgery and radiation because it it tiring. Here’s a woman that didn’t have the perks a governors wife, a widow and she got through it.
I absolutely do not view Casey DeSantis as some kind of a hero. I am not trying to minimize breast cancer but doing the “standard of care” is what most women do. I guarantee you, Casey had it a lot easier and it was just as scary for my neighbor. In our neighbor’s case, she is rejecting infusions of chemo and some other toxic brew. She lives alone and needs to work. She is taking time off from work but needs to minimize that. Casey has no clue on how hard some women have it, with no spouse or entourage to make life easy or be given special treatment because you are the wife of a governor and not having to work.
Our neighbor doesn’t view herself as a “fighter” or a “survivor.” She is thankful God allowed her to find it in time because it had spread to a sentinel lymph node, so a couple lymph nodes were removed. We admire our neighbor; not Casey DeSantis. Our neighbor is a genuine Christian. She never once had self pity or anger at this happening. She was reluctant at first for our offer of help. Later she was profusely grateful for our help and care. We made sure she had what she needed from the store – food, a prescription cream etc.. Sometimes she’d take us up on coming over for dinner and other times she made something for herself. She isn’t the kind to brag about being a “survivor.” She is low key and the only reason we know what she went through is because we offered a helping hand.
We were happy to help her and now much closer as neighbors. As far as we are concerned this is what you should do for someone in need. Casey babbling about her breast cancer doesn’t impress us. Having only 6 chemo treatments and no other toxic brews, or radiation, tells me she didn’t have an aggressive or deadly cancer. We learned a lot about breast cancer. Triple negative is really bad and usually aggressive. I can tell you this, this is shameless pandering and embellishment. She could care less about others. It’s all about her.
They, our collective enemies, are the ones engaging in Hopium and Denial, now.

I can see why Casey is taking over for Ron. Ron is dull, boring and stiff. Casey thinks she can connect with every day people and wow them as some kind of a hero. Melania had kidney issues that were serious. You NEVER saw her looking for sympathy or ranting on about herself being brave without directly saying it as Casey is implying about herself.
