Good grief, who needs Democrat firepower when you can always count on Republicans to shoot themselves to save their enemies. Twenty House Republicans joined with House Democrats to defeat a censure motion that would have triggered an investigation of the notoriously corrupt Adam Schiff (CA).
Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL), who really does seem to be a great MAGA addition to the House, created a censure motion that she advanced on Tuesday. Luna’s measure would have formally reprimanded Schiff for his conduct while Chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI), where he lied about Trump-Russia intelligence.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy blocked Schiff from the HPSCI this year and Luna’s measure would have established an ethics investigation that could have resulted in a $16,000,000 fine if they found he committed the infractions.
As ridiculous as this sounds, 20 House Republicans came quickly to Adam Schiff’s defense. Current “Republican” HPSCI Chairman Mike Turner (OH) was one of the GOP members who supported Schiff along with Republican Thomas Massie (KY) who recently endorsed Ron DeSantis. What a bunch of knuckleheads.
(WASHINGTON DC) – Republicans joined most Democrats in voting to table a measure to censure Rep. Adam Schiff for his previous leadership of the House Intelligence Committee and probes into former President Donald Trump.
The vote: The measure was tabled by a 225-196 vote, with 20 Republicans voting alongside most Democrats. Other Democratic lawmakers were lined up ready to defend the Californian on the floor, but Wednesday’s vote stops the effort from advancing to a full House vote.
Schiff’s response: “It’s a continuation of a downward spiral. There are a number of members here now who are just kind of ugly performance artists. It’s all about getting attention, doesn’t matter whether it’s good attention or bad attention, it’s all about the notoriety,” Schiff told reporters after the vote.
Republicans from districts won by President Joe Biden like Rep. Mike Lawler (R-N.Y.) and the current chair of the House Intelligence Committee, Mike Turner (R-Ohio), were among the Republicans who voted with Democrats to defeat the measure.
Seven lawmakers voted present on the measure, including all five Democratic members of the House Ethics Committee and Rep. George Santos (R-N.Y.). Democratic ethics panel members generally vote present on any ethics matters that come before the House. (more)

McCarthy! is an awesome leader.
As a Kentuckian, I say, F Thomas Massie. Trump was right again.
I had high hopes for him but he continually votes the wrong way. What’s he doing to defend the Ky coal industry which made him rich?
It’s never about what makes them rich.. It’s what keeps them rich.
Coal is in a double hurt because natural gas gets so cheap and clean.
We should have kept the cleanest coal plants, building new is tougher.
Ironically, it matters not how clean natural gas gets, the climate criers still decry its use. I really think it’s the CHEAP to which they object. Keeping the little American poor and beholding is what these political elites need. Same with oil. Price and abundance are nothing at all that they care about. The push for EVs is all about crashing the electric grid and they hope that we little people stay in the dark (literally and figuratively). It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that the hard push to eliminate gas powered vehicles and home appliances is all about control.; The threat to them comes from those who, incidentally, do not need to be anywhere near rocket scientist status but do need a functioning brain and the ability to think. are not stupid enough to believe the Gates, Soros, Obama, Biden drivel.
Do a little research when time permits. I ran across some info recently about a WWII home still – a wood fired gasifier.
During war rationing of gasoline many folks built these to produce gasoline allowing them to have fuel in excess of their rationed allotment(s).
There’s always a way to get around these issues.
McCarthy told them how to vote and they gleefully followed orders. What a bunch of POSs.
If you can throw congresspeople out for lying then wouldn’t most of the Congress have to go?
ALL of them would have to go.
Kevin should just go home and spoon with Frank Luntz. At this point, who expects anything more?
McCarthy to Dems: You let me have my sound bites, and I’ll get you your votes.
As proof of what you say, none of the 20 (there are more) will see any discipline.
Not so much “as dirty as we imagined”..
More likely dirtier than we are capable of imagining.
Anna Paulina Luna just experienced why her party shoots themselves in their feet and then inserts those same feet into their own mouths. EWWWWWWWW!
“McConnell told McCarthy to tell them how to vote, and…”
The McMafia.
Who needs friends when you have enemies like these.
These RINOs are co-conspirators after-the-fact. They are still doubling down and supporting the coup against America.
If you watch this you will get some real hope and truth no hopeum. God is a just God men like these will not go unpunished.
There is only one hope, in this battle, it’s not any one man it’s God and when people turn towards him and repent the clouds will part and the sunshine will cleanse this world.
People say this nation is turning into a “third world banana republic” well it’s the Godless part they want, and the globalists have gotten it.
I wish no hell on anyone only salvation.
God’s justice will prevail. I like what he affirmed about the people who are getting away with high crimes now, that unless they repent, there will be God’s reckoning in the end. They have no fear of being separated from God.
It’s also interesting what the priest said about the strong emphasis on Baphomet in the dedication of a Swiss tunnel .
All the officials there seemed to be okay with it as if they had seen it all before!
I like what our pastor said last Sunday. Fear of the Lord has to do with the fear of being separated from God.
Thanks for the post! We are being tossed around by godless people who are supposed to stand for God and His principles.
I especially love that newer priests are more orthodox and have thrown off the ways of the older bishops. Very much needed!
So glad i left that useless crowd. Whatever they used to stand for they’ve long abandoned it. Trump, leave them, now.
Just let them put on the Democrat jumpsuits and leave the party. Trump IS the Republican party. The Marxist RINOs are just the Benedict Arnold wing and it’s time to clip their wings!
these are non trivial violation of schiff. it’s manifest dishonesty in furtherance of making false statements that not only impugned a sitting president but violates the sworn oath and the rules of simple decorum of members.
This is a high crime and misdemeanor….
this is not like some member making political rhetoric….REMEMBER THE CONTEXT: this was a member who sat on the most important committee have ultimate responsibility for oversight and direct access to the most sensitive intelligence matters of the United States of America. As a member of congress and specifically the events that were at play and relevant to his false statement, was an attempt to discieve through the power of his position and to allege FALSELY that the President of the Unites States was a criminal.
This is an impeachable offense. If congress cannot get it’s act together to understand THIS issue and solve it. How in the hell can it be expected to solve real problems of the secret police spy state?
I think you find your answers in that question.
God Bless America
That’s what I thought. He’s committed treason and they want to levy a fine? So we get a little bit of the money he’s stolen over the years and never address his acts of betrayal?
Isn’t the punishment for treason death or life in prison, or am I just old-fashioned?
Using Schiff and intelligence in the same sentence is like using Garland and justice in the same sentence.
John Wilkes Booth, after shooting Lincoln, jumped down from the theater balcony and broke his leg. He managed to make it a short distance where he found a doctor to treat him and give him a splint and a walking stick. That doctor’s name was Samuel Mudd. It’s the origin of the phrase “his name is Mud(d).”
It ssems that we have here our generation’s equivalents of Dr. Mudd. Let their names live in infamy, just as does Mudd’s.
Mudd did the decent thing. He would not be a Dim today. Too nice a guy.
(JWB happens to be a distant uncle of mine on my paternal grandmother’s side. Go figure.)
Mudd went to prison as a conspirator in the plot.
He was later pardoned because he fought an outbreak of yellow fever at the prison. Pardoned only a few years after the assassination. Makes one wonder if President Johnson was looking for an excuse.
The Imprisoned Doctor Who Helped Fight an Epidemic · National Parks Conservation Association (npca.org)
Mudd’s “involvement” was at BEST circumstancial.
In any case, “First, Do No Harm” applies.
I have heard from another Booth family member that JWB was never legally held accountable for his actions and lived a normal life after the shooting. It was told at a genealogy meeting. Do you have any information?
I’ve never heard that. Most of us at least reflexively figure he got what he deserved–a bullet.

A number of them have explained their vote as being against the $16 million fine.
A regular censure vote next week will likely pass. We’ll see.
Sounds like a number of them have a guilty conscience and fear voting for the $16 million fine would set a precedent costing them dearly when their own transgressions are brought into view.
Bingo.
Exactly what it is….looking at you Thomas Massie.
Yahtzee!! 🎯
Yup, the setting of a precedence is what scares them,…that AND Schiff was doing exactly what the Committee of FOUR that actuallu ARE CONgress, wanted him to do; he vas juiest vollowink orders.
Majority and Minority Leaders of both Houses, FOUR PEOPLE control everything that happens, and the “Majority” and “Minority” hats are meaningless, and THEY control which is in “the Majority” as is convenient for them.
There primary goal is to keep it as close to 50/50 as possible. Notice the current status?
Yes. Where were the republican leaders to refute his lies? They are complicit, i.e. just as guilty, by allowing the lie to continue.
Yes, exactly – right on point.
Since then the money is all laundered anyway, why should they care?
At that point, we will know if they are Marxists or simply too financially compassionate.
yes, there is another way to look at this too…and it’s one that swims around in my brain…
NOT DEFENDING the 20…just inspecting what might be on their minds.
the 16 mi is linked to a false and manufactured Special Counsel investigtion, yes?
so lets move forward and hypothetically…that ANY house moves to bring the same charges to ANY member who might say something like “joe malarkey is a criminal and his family is a pay to play cabal”..
this idea that members could fine someone for what they say is dangerous. It’s dangerous for all of us.
now having said that, there is a big difference from a member of congress making political rhetoric and even misleading and false statements…and someone who sits on the house intelligence gang of 8, where the presumption is that when they make a statement about criminal evidence…”more than circumstantial” that this moes the needle and not just the political needle…it violates a vore ethical standard to not make false statements of this sort when the obvious intention was to inpugn a president and to claim falsely that he is a criminal.
give a few contrasting example: a member calls out in a state of the union speak: “LIAR”.
it was true that he was lying..but even if he wasn’t lying the only issue is one of decorum….bad manners. there was not lengthy exposition to detail out and elaborate all the false details to establish him as having violated some law in his lying.
versus the REPEATED ACTIONS of pencil neck schiftace! As stated above.
but the problem with attaching a fine to it, proposed based on the false and corrupt FBI investigation is that it can easily be misused in the future.
lets say jim jordan goes on tv and says…we are going to establish a independent counsel because of x, y and Z. and the Ind Counsel does just that and comes up empty…(just follow me here)…would the same house members then declare jim jordan subject to fine penalties (without the normal rules of a court room), that are linked to the cost of that investigation?
I believe the members, are trying to find a way to take action but also not create a bad precident (as we have seen so many bad precidents that have backfired)…
I still come back to impeachment trials for pencil neck.
it fits more than any other solution.
God Bless America
There’s the the first no go list for 2024. Time to start placing big red X’s on their faces at election time.
And other yhan emotional satisfaction, booting them out will make NO substantive difference.
Eliminating those who PUT them there, and who insure they STAY there, (RNC and State R party leaders) is the only route to politcal resolution.
The 16 MM fine was too much IMO.
Millions is so outdated. We’re talking Trillions now. It’s not your checkbook they’re playing with.
It IS our checkbook that they’re playing with. How much of that $16M fine would be from actual LEGAL earnings for Schiff. How much under the table money was he paid for his impeachment monologue fantasy? That alone could have been $16M!
That fine would have likely been paid via the “slush fund” that McConnell, et al, have set aside to cover congressional transgressions – mostly for sexual peccadilloes, as I understand it, but I’ll bet the “leaders” would have covered all of Schiff’s bets with that stash.
Death by firing squad would have been more equitable and just.
Not enough IMO
The Mueller investigation alone cost us 32M. A few people went to jail for “not cooperating”. The DNC could pay the fine, and probably would.
They installed Branden and 2022 was perfectly rigged to achieve this result as well.
“Uuuuuuu-uuuuuuuu-uuuuuuuu-uuuuuuugh!”
Mike Simpson double-crossed the citizens of the 2nd district in Idaho. Hear me now Michael Simpson, this will not stand!
What were you thinking? If Simpson will not support his constituency, why should his constituency support him?
What can we do? We need to vote republican because to vote Democrat will doom Our Country? When ever a republican votes against the interest of We The People it is our duty to remove them from their office by primarying them at the next election cycle! IMPERATIVE to send these 20 assholes into political oblivion!
Schiff will be censured next week.
massie has made the argument that the fines violate 27 and 28. He actually has a case on this very matter when pelosi fined him. So there is a position that has context. To the OTHERS, I think it’s a argument they need to reconcile in the next censure attempt and then we will see who is wearing the uniparty underpants.
I still think this is an impeachable offense. Maybe the strategy here is to drive to a censure and once that step is accomplished also to move to impeachment votes. Mccarthy controls some but not all of the rule making…versus the pelosi regime, so it’s still a possibility that impeachment can at least happen in the house. I have doubts the senate will do the right thing by kicking him out…Because schiff is expected to take feinstein seat in the senate, so the senate dem majority will not vote for impeachment …they will protect schiff even if they believe he did breach an impeachment threshold. politics as usual in DC!
God Bless America
Yes, the Dems can’t let Schiff pay a price. They need him in the Senate. They are salivating at the damage he can do with some increased authority while doing the same lying, deceiving, and manipulating.
And a large swathe of the American public are too ignorant to connect the dots- Schiff used his positions as a Congressman on very sensitive and powerful committees to lie and manipulate the public- to the point he fabricated a whole phone call from cloth. And the Dems in the Senate are still wanting him to replace Feinstein rather than find a more principled worthy individual. And you heave R’s protecting him now.
Big fat dots to connect. They even form a picture but the ignorant around us will get lost between dot one and dot two, even though they are right next to each other.
the FBI and DOJ refuses to do it’s oathed duties and go after criminals. The congress does the same.
the venn diagram is nearly a complete perfect circle…where quibbles about who is less corrupt remain outside the loop.
God Bless America
So now the RINO schemers are just doing “testing-the-water” votes…gonads receding into bowels. Pathetic
Here what we do………NOTE THE WORD DUTY…….
But when a long Train of Abuses and Usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object, evinces a Design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their Right, it is their Duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future Security.
there, nuf said!
The reason the system is unresponsive to the People, is because its unaccountable.
And the reason its unaccountable, is because WE are focusing on the WRONG PEOPLE, to try to hold to account.
Its NOT the elected public officials, its the elected PARTY officials (State party Executive boards) that install them, AND install the County Recorders and County election board members, who then rig the elections to put and keep the selected and installed elected Public officials in office.
Get it? Thats why its very difficult to primary one, and even if you do, these party officials will just install another.
These State party officials, are like the “owner” of a fast food franchise, the county recorders are the individual location managers, the RNC the Corporate franchise.
Focusing on the public officials is like focusing on the guy that takes your order, and complaining to him that the food has no nutrition and tastes like crap because it IS, or even getting him fired may be emotionally satisfying but accomplishes NOTHING.
We can not take down the National Franchise (yet) but we CAN target that vital focal point; the State party leaders.
Take them down, you break the chain.
I agree. If my understanding is correct, it appears that is what is starting to happen in Georgia.
After Trump visit to Columbus last Saturday, there appears there was significant developments in state party officials being booted and replaced. At least that’s what I think I perceived.
Looked promising.
Machiavelli isn’t taught at the School for Worthless GOP Pricks that every member must take upon election.
To which Massie replies:
Hey Massie. Check Nancy’s graft and you’ll find 16M is reasonable for a congress(person).
He knows that. I’ll bet he doesn’t let his principles stop him from insider trading.
ITS ALL ABOUT THE BENJAMINS!
I believe you end up playing with the devil if you operate out of fear, which is what I think Massie did. The question should be: is the potential punishment the correct punishment for the ultimate good of the Republic? It may be. It’s some gravely serious stuff he’s done. Although there may be other punishments that may be more approprite. I’m unsure.
Don’t mess with the graft.
Fck this guy.
Where were his principles when Joe Biden stole the election?
Does he grieve the constitution for the J6 prisoners who have had due process wiped away and languish after 3 years is prison? Denied the video evidence that could clear them all?
Did he care when Schiff was lying to get the president impeached?
Nah.
He strikes me as an elitist pig who trots out his principles whenever it suits his or the democrats purpose.
He’s a fake. And his so called principles are fake.
I loath this republican Congress. And I dont think this Luna chick is all that either. She caved early on the vote for McCarthy. They all take turns stabbing us in the back.
I’ll tell you flight 93 should have let the terrorists fly the plane into Capital on 9/11. Think of what it would have saved us.
I really miss “the old days” of Congress, and society.
One Congressmen impunes the dignity of another, by calling him a “damn liar!” on the House floor.
The aggreived charges across the floor, and beats his opponent within an inch of his life, with his cane, while all watch, aghast.
Finally the cane breaks, which may well be the only reason the victim survived.
“Speech and debate clause”?
“Hate speech”?
Lol…
duels would be nice….as long as we could force them all to do it and the rules are: last man standing.
in nazi germany, that wackmoonbat world, military officers would sword fight…and often over minor quibbles…the idea was not to save honor but to carry some kind of scar to reinforce their image as purely insane psychos.. (I’m sure I have some of the details wrong).
with congress, it would be nice to see at least a couple risk going to jail for a nice right cross every now and then.
some say, you should never hit a lady…and I am saying these are not ladies! at all.
God Bless America
If that’s 92 years worth of pay Mr. Massie, how is AOC’s net worth now approaching 5 million in just a little over two years? How is this possible? How is she sitting on millions? Oh, campaign money….
No, Mr. Massie, you fool no one.
You fools can’t even hold Garland, Yellen, Granholm, Mayorkas, and Wray accountable and they broke the law by lying to Congress. One even recently gave a press conference on how she lied to you. Massie can shove it.
Schiff hasn’t been in Congress anywhere near 92 years so from where did he get his fortune? Lucky investing? Sure.
Cisco mani in Az is my Rep.….
Just got elected. I believe he
is just about as clueless as one
can be.
Will be calling…..
Make a list.. check it twice.. and never.. ever.. throw that list away.
And put the Exrcutive board members if the Az State Republican party at the TOP of the list.
And the board of the RNC,…after that there is really no need to waste paper and ink on Public Officials, other than McCarthy, McConnell now Thune, Pelosi, Schumer, can go with Durbin and Scalise if you want.
ALL of the rest of Congress are actors, playing their assigned roles.
Thomas Massie, MTG, and Ralph Norman sued Nancy Pelosi in 2021 over the $500 fines Nanzi imposed on members of the House who refused to wear face masks. The fines were deducted from their paychecks.
The three congressmen sued on 27th amendment grounds.
Twenty-Seventh Amendment
“No law, varying the compensation for the services of the Senators and Representatives, shall take effect, until an election of Representatives shall have intervened.”
DC district judge Reggie Walton tossed the case saying that Nanzi had the right to uphold decorum in the House chamber.
Massie intends to vote for the censure and investigation once the fine is dropped from the action.
bingo.
So the judge said Massie had to pay the fine. But schiff who did more than not wear a face mask wont be fined? Massie is a Democrat. It’s so clear who hes working for and it ain’t us.
Anna Paulina Luna is new and promising. Apparently she needed to spend more time speaking with and listening to her colleagues so that her resolution would have sailed through. This looks like a learning experience for a newbie. Schiff will enjoy only a few days’ reprieve on the censure.
Don’t worry about the stupid fine. It would never be paid in full. Schiff’s attorneys will help slim down his bank account after he is censured next week.
Being censured is like a slap on the wrist. From the Senate’s own website:
Censure is less severe than expulsion, a censure (sometimes referred to as condemnation or denouncement) does not remove a senator from office. It is a formal statement of disapproval, however, that can have a powerful psychological effect on a member and his/her relationships in the Senate. In 1834, the Senate censured President Andrew Jackson — the first and only time the Senate censured a president. Since 1789 the Senate has censured nine of its members.
House censures are the exact same thing.
Don’t worry folks, a man with no principles, no morals, and no values will be worried and be heavily psychologically impacted by the vote…..I can’t roll my eyes enough.
Not aimed at you Sherri…rather at the ridiculousness of censuring someone like Adam Schiff. It literally has no impact with a person like Schiff. He won’t be removed, he won’t be embarrassed, and he won’t care. As soon as he’s installed as a Senator to replace Feinstein, he will again be on committees.
Thank you, Dwayne. I do not take your well-considered opinion as a personal affront.
Schiff is not the only person from California vying for DiFi’s senate seat. A censure might weaken him somewhat and strengthen Ro Khanna. Schiff represents West Hollywood. Ro Khanna represents Silicon Valley. If put into the theoretical position of voting for either one, I’d take Ro Khanna every time.
Dealing with sociopaths such as Schiff has to start somewhere. This upcoming censure is a start.
“DC district judge Reggie Walton tossed the case saying that Nanzi had the right to uphold decorum in the House chamber.”
Massie is deflecting, the precedent has been set- they could have left the fines in. I’m sure he will vote for it but he needed to make sure he and his friends pocket books were protected.
Me, I’d ask Mr. Massie what’s his worry? Are you and others around you doing things as egregious as Schiff? If no, then what’s your worry for retribution? Oh, because you do have friends and colleagues who also use their positions to lie and deceive their constituents.
Every time I encounter mention of Judge Reggie Walton, I see a man in a black robe who is a team player, not a fair and impartial jurist.
Judge Walton used to serve as a FISA judge. He has been harsh toward the J6ers. He is the one who sentenced the Oath Keeper guy, Stuart Rhoades, to 18 years in prison. When several congressmen sued Obama and the Sec Def for circumventing Congress over our illegal involvement in Libya and the funding thereof, Judge Walton tossed the case for lack of standing. That was a month before Benghazi.
In this case, Walton was presented with a constitutional question and flipped it into a matter of backing Nanzi’s power to do as she may citing “decorum”. The contention was that deducting the fines from the paychecks affected the compensation and was done on a whim. By the time Walton made his ruling to throw out the case, Nanzi was no longer imposing fines because the CDC had issued an opinion that could cut into the mask mandate.
Massie is a constitutionalist. He got on people’s nerves here when he demanded that congressmen return to DC and vote in person for or against the COVID spending package in 2020. Nanzi and Mnuchin negotiated that bill because Nanzi would not speak to Pres. Trump. It was the absolute largest spending bill ever introduced in our nation’s history and frightened congressmen were expected to phone in their votes from a safe distance while citizens were showing up to work to take care of the sick and provide essential services. There was an uproar and Trump denounced him as a third rate politician.
Trump got over it. IMO, Massie was right about the voting process for the spending bill. Massie was right about his effort to constrain Nanzi’s dictatorial approach. He is right about opposing the financial weaponization of the ethics process. It is hard enough to find good candidates who will run and enter the fray in congress without threatening them with financial ruin if somebody like Nanzi Pelosi regains the gavel.
Massie will vote for the censure without the fine.
Schiff belongs in a supermax facility. Any money that could be extracted from him is a distraction.
And censure gets him in a supermax? No, it doesn’t.
IDC who the judge aligned with, precedent was set and you beat them by playing by the rules they established. I agree with your analysis of the ruling. But they set the rules, they set precedent. You vote for him to pay the fine…the rest Schiff cares not one iota about. And too bad if he’s forced using lawyers to fight against paying it.
These people impeached Trump over a fake phone transcript written by this man named Schiff (one of the reasons).
See my reply to you above regarding censure.
No, censure won’t put Schiff into a supermax. Neither would a fine.
The members of congress are not all-powerful, but there is no reason to stand aside and allow a delusional, unscrupulous person such as Schiff to continue with business as usual.
Censure Schiff. Put him under a microscope. Make the MSM busy themselves protecting him instead of trying to tear down Pres Trump. The more Schiff wiggles, the more he will be exposed. Try to pull in the Russiagate / Ukrainegate hoaxers and let them try to defend Schiff.
Anna Paulina Luna has given up on the fine. Now get on with going after Schiff, not his pocketbook.
I spoke with someone in Massie’s office today. They expect the motion to censure to pass.
It is a start. But they should go for it all- expulsion, like the Constitution gives them the authority to do.
But Uniparty will only allow so much.
I agree he should be expelled from congress, fined and then charged with a felony. Who would prosecute?
see the problem?
don’t misunderstand me…I am not saying the effort should not be undertaken…at all
but the likelihood of the house persuaded to do the RIGHT THING…well…we had a changing of the guard and according to the scorecard I am keeping…doesn’t seem like much more than slight chair rearrangements.
in DC…it all makes sense.
outside of DC, in the real world…none of it makes any sense.
and that is the problem…we are not represented…in law, in practice nor in ethic.
God Bless America
Part of the plan, no? Just another day in the Swamp.
Sharks, and lawyers, but I repeat myself, don’t eat their own. Hope they have golden passports because once the house of cards collapses they aren’t going to want to return to their districts.
Thats actually not true.
Cut a shark so theres blood in the water, the others will swarm in an rip him to shreds.
Just ask Weiner or Franken.
Even if they did vote to censure him absolutely nothing would happen. That said, their willingness to expose themselves this early in term shows how much they give a shit about “us” or what “we” think. Plan accordingly.
Like other jobs people are hired to do, those hired to represent a specific political party,
then sides with the opposition, should flat out be fired.
Time for reality & reason to prevail!
Trump named Schiff as a defendant – one of many – in his gigantic RICO conspiracy case and outlined very clearly all of Schiff’s illegal activities. If anyone is entitled to a large monetary award, it is Trump. If Trump still has a Constitutional right to go after him, I pray that the damages awarded will be in the $200+million range.
Why should Congress get $16 million? Trump and his family were so hurt and maligned by this man. The evidence is overwhelming.
The harm to his reputation and his administration was catastrophic!!
Maybe $5 billion would be even more fair.
Most Rs are Ds. No Ds are Rs.
The only R that knows how to fight is Trump and even he can be a squish sometimes because he’s a nice guy. (See the Hitlery Clinton case: “I don’t want to ruin anybody’s life.”)
We are just not cutthroat.
Dims are bloodthirsty goosesteppers with no soul.
Queensbury Rules and our innate decency have become a death pact.
I guess we will just have to see how a vote without a fine goes…
Power is more intoxicating than money. That may explain why Dems (power over all) will always outfight Reps (money over all).
Interesting take. It begs the question which one can garner more of the other: power for money or money for power?
Another way to ask it: which are easier for the intoxicated to give up. I would argue power wins, every time.
I would be right there with you all if this vote was just about a censure, but censure and a fine?
No.
We need to think long and hard about setting the precedent of fining a congressman by House vote. They will use that against Republicans.
You would think we would learn about handing our enemies the tools to oppress us with, but apparently not.
Look at all the precedents Democrats set with Trump. Who stopped them? Who had any principles then? Massie is a Democrat.
The problem here is that Pelosi already established the precedent of fining a congressman when she fined those congressman $500 dollars for not wearing a mask.
But overall, I agree with you that onerous fines are not the method to deal with crooked congressman, expulsion with cause is the method. Then folks harmed by a congress critter’s intentional maleficent actions can take it to criminal or civil court.
But they are not voting on expulsion…only censure, which means, if Schiff had feelings, they may be hurt. But since he doesn’t, it’s a worthless vote for media headlines and talking points- wait for it, to garner donations.
IMO, that ruling was weak sauce. At the time, vaccines were displacing the talking points around masks. Nanzi had quit issuing fines. It would have cost a great deal more to appeal the goofy ruling to the DC Circuit to get their case reinstated. Considering the venue, it probably was better to drop the issue and not take the chance on a stronger precedent being set.
Massie, some rocket scientist.
How much was lost in productivity, legal fees, opportunity costs based on Schiffty-Schiffs lies? How about you take out your slide ruler Massie and re-calculate and we force Schiff to pay that amount.
Go away Massie. I hope the people of KY will do the right thing and find an MAGA replacement.
An accountability precedent scares the shite out of them all.
Criminals continue being criminals and demonstrate criminal behavior until they are made to stop.
“An accountability precedent scares the shite out of them all.” amen
Keep pulling back the curtain on these dregs………..sunlight is the best!!!!! Lol.
never a doubt. if you vote for any republican you be a fool.
Everything is about the Benjamins. So what now? Anyone? No?
Seems to me Pelosi (and perhaps others) has amply set a precedent for fines. Maybe we don’t get to $16M for Schiff, but if a Speaker can fine members $500 for avoiding metal detectors, not wearing masks, etc. perhaps it’s not unreasonable to fine Schiff $5000 for every instance he stepped in front of a camera, or wrote in a brief, stating the lies about PDJT? Certainly, a lie of this magnitude is 10x worse than not wearing a piece of fabric on your face?
Folks here seem to take offense on the fining. I think it’s all or nothing and if I must endure a political mask fine, I think the Intel Chair should be held to a standard to tell the truth to the American people and fined for lying. Personally, I think censure should have more “teeth” and they need to just drop the fines altogether: that degenerate Schiff has the guts to go out and gloat about this vote to table the censure motion? No remorse at all… he needs to be smacked down hard. One way or the other.
He needs to be removed from office. Bottom line. They don’t hold him accountable then no one will ever be held to account…well until a Dem is Speaker then they would be held to account for even the most minor infractions. But Schiff…meh. They flaunt it. They throw it in our face- they are saying…we can do anything we want and there’s nothing you can do about it.
Biden is doing it. Wray is is doing it. Garland is doing it. Mayorkas is doing it. FBI rank and file is doing it. Alvin Bragg is doing it. Jack Smith is doing it. Schiff is doing it. KJP is doing it (recent Hatch revelations). AOC is doing it. Those involved with the spying and lying are doing it: Comey, McCabe, Brennon, and others.
And the MSM puts them on a pedestal to do it while drowning out the truth- look at timing of Trump indictment..
And yet we still cling to the absurd hope they’ll come around. They ain’t coming around. We have no protections.
Congress has abdicated their responsibilities for years — with no budgeting, delegation of authority etc. USC refuses to take cases, and call Obamacare a tax, ignores how it was “passed”. And the Executive “signs 2500 Executive orders” which are non-Constitutional.
Do we have a Constitutional Republic? I say it is gone.
There are no conservative republicans, they are all lying democrats.
Figured it out yet? It’s the fail safe anti Trump antidote. The Garbage Party- if all else fails and President Trump does get reelected , intends to lose the House and never get the Senate in order to neuter the President in office. He will be forced to legislate by Executive Order and we all know how un-eternal those are. Scumbag Party.
Sad to see Ohio’s Warren Davidson on the list. He voted yes on raising the debt ceiling too. “We’ll get them in appropriations” 😉
They have no problem taking OUR money. But THEIR money…for lying and abusing your portion. Too dangerous a precedent.
It’s just one big Communist, Marxist party and we are not invited. NOR DO FREEDOM LOVING AMERICANS HAVE ANY DESIRE TO GO! Just identified 20 House RINO Marxists!!
UNIPARTY has been strong for 65 years. Clearly UNIPARTY is still strong!
Blackmail is a powerful tool.
Censure, huh? Translation – “You’ve been a very bad boy. Shame on you!”
Schiff: “Oh, no! What will I ever do? I promise to be a good boy from now on.”
What a freaking mockery of just desserts and Justice.
They’re laughing at us!
One would have thought this was a simple party line vote, but it’s another example of how rotten the Republican club is.
What a surprise.
No, really.
Wait until the impeachment vote for Sloppy Joe comes up (if it ever does).
For me this tells me who the first 20 are that need investigated along with Adam Schiff. The Democrats are a shoe in to be looked into and now these 20 have exposed themselves. What wrong doings have they done for which they don’t want to be fined, censured, and held to account? Some of these people sit on and have sat on some very staunch committees.
The defense of Schiff was organized. Who did this?
Schiff’s archive of blackmail material is still effective.
Ain’t it comforting to know that the toilet bowl otherwise known as Congress is chock full of Democrat & Republican turds?
And 1 flush out just ain’t gonna to get rid of this embarrassing collection of uniparty Commicrats either.
We are in need of a serious Political Roto-Rooter cleanout of all of this filth from Congress!!
Washington protects its own. The satanic pe-do cabal must survive.
See what we are up against UNI PARTY faithful’s..
All of these 20 voted with the Democrats on the debt ceiling too.
They all need to go
Make Tar and Feathers Used Again.
Behavior will continue until they fear the consequences of treason.
