I was curious if any President has been elected running as an Independent without party affiliation. I went looking for the answer.
Only ONE. President George Washington, who did not run for the job, and had to be convinced to take it for the good of the new country.
if they keep VSGDJT off the ballot, I hope he runs without party support. I will not vote for anyone else. Even if America falls, because those who do not vote for and re-elect this great American will deserve what ever they get.
If they manage to take him out, our best strategy is for MAGA voters to implode the GOP, utterly decimate it, by either refusing to vote or voting write ins across the ballot.
The GOP only exists because of people who buy into the “but, the democrats will win!” scare mongering.
The GOP must be destroyed. There’s no alternative. They’re like Twitter. They cannot be co-opted, bargained with, or reformed. They are irredeemably evil and must be destroyed.
We can’t hope to change an illegitimate system by participating in its rigged games.
If we’re going to have totalitarian rule, let’s get on with it. The current system is totalitarian hiding behind fake elections and GOP liars.

All states do not permit write ins for the president.
WRITE-IN OPTION: 9 states do not accept write ins.
INDEPENDENT RUN OPTION: Running as an independent is allowed in all states but 2 –Texas and S. Dakota.
Texas while not allowing an independent run, DOES allow write-ins, though they must register in advance with the state.
Turns out that states’ sore loser laws do not apply to presidental candidates, so an independent run is a legitimate option. Each state has its own rules, many require a set number of voter signatures on the petition to run as an independent.
RNC has expressed concern President Trump would pivot to independent if blocked from nomination. So the RNC is demanding GOP candidates promise to endorse whoever is the future nominee in order to be allowed on the debate stage. Surprise! President Trump is so far ahead of any competitors that he doesn’t need to debate. Why would someone up 40 points want to debate at the kiddie table? So Wiley Coyote (RNC) foiled again.
To clarify: sore loser laws do apply in Texas (but looks like write-in is allowed). And S. Dakota also doesn’t allow independent run. The rest of the states allow an independent run because their sore loser laws do not apply to presidential candidates.
I live in Texas and voting machines are used, so the write in candidate has to “register” in advance in order to be put on the machine. There is no blank space on a voting machine to write in any candidate on your own. If President Trump isn’t on the Texas ballot one way or another I will sit out the 2024 election, first time in 54 years. Please no lectures about voting for the lesser of two evils!!! Not doing that ever again!!! Godspeed President Trump!!!
