This is certainly true for me, but I’ve been talking with three Republican friends in the Philadelphia area. One of them actually liked President Trump and believes the election was stolen from him. He’s not crazy about DeSantis but he’s looking for another option as he doesn’t think the Deep State will ever allow Trump back in. No question, this guy will vote Trump in the general. He’s 80 years old and just doesn’t have the fight in him and he can’t stand the thought of another Dem presidency. The other day he said to me that he’d like to know who’s holding Biden’s strings because Biden belongs in a home with full time caregivers.
The other two are borderline never Trumpers and were embarrassed by him. One in particular really hates him. I am not convinced that she (a PA Republican committeewoman) even voted for GEOTUS in either general election.
I will say this. Donald Trump exposes people for who they really are.

I most definitely agree with that part of the issue of abortion. Most everything should belong in the hands of the States. I’m old enough to recall when each and every State had a distinct ‘personality’. It was a cherished Freedom in our country. One could easily decide in what State they wished to reside based on that distinctness. What’s odd is that in some ways we are slowly returning to that. Folks are once again making life-decisions as to where they want to live not based on jobs, finances, scenery, etc., but rather on where a State stands on issues.
States were intended to be the “labratories of Democracy” and hopefully the best solutions would be adopted by other States.
Before resorting to the 2A, there is the 10A, and if we actually had State Givernments that used the 10th to push back against Fed gov. overreach, the States could dramatically reduce the size and overreach of the Feds, by restricting them to those areas the Constitution expressly dilineates.
Hence we need to do work at the State level.
