In a way, this is an extension of the “unfunded mandates” the Federal Govt has been dumping on States and cities, for many many years, as an inevitable result of a Federal Govt which is dominant to State and Local Govt, the exact opposite of what the Founders intended.
Also clear justification for ANY, and indeed EVERY one of the 48 State Governors to make a “Declaration of invasion” and then USE the Powers it confers in the State Governors to ; “Levy tarriffs, enter into State Compacts with other States and Negotiate directly with foreign countries, form their own Armies and Navies and engage in acts of War, in order to repel the invasion.”

As a lifelong conservative Illinoisan, I’ve long resented the liberals who comprise the majority of Chicago for inflicting their liberalism onto the entire state.
Illinois is a geographically conservative state as shown in this 2020 presidential election map broken down by precinct. Remarkably, it’s even more geographically red than Mississippi.

Part of me likes the idea of sending illegal immigrants to Chicago as it’s inflicting the burden of illegal immigration onto a majority Democratic voting population.
Part of me dislikes this, as the illegal immigrants will eventually become illegal voters and make Chicago, and by extension the rest of Illinois, more Democratic.
Illinois state tax dollars will also be used to provide free housing, food, water, education, healthcare, and other services to these illegal immigrants. I don’t support illegal immigration, yet my tax dollars nonetheless are going to subsidize it.
There are only two ways for the conservative areas of Illinois outside of metro Chicago to have a political voice. Chicago could be split from the rest of Illinois or Illinois could split the presidential electoral vote by congressional district like Nebraska and Maine currently do.
I prefer splitting Chicago from the rest of the state as splitting the electoral vote still wouldn’t resolve the issue of Chicago dominating politics at the state level.
While Chicago is no doubt liberal, the Democrats use election fraud to enhance and solidify their dominance in the Chicago area and by extension Illinois as a whole.
Illinois does not make the statewide voter roll available to the public. It is treated as top secret instead of the public information that it is.
Madison County is the only jurisdiction in Illinois that makes its voter roll publicly available that I know of. This is great for Madison County, but terrible for the state as a whole.

Making the voter rolls for every jurisdiction in Illinois available to the public would be a great step for election integrity in Illinois as citizens could examine the voter rolls and ensure that they aren’t being manipulated to commit election fraud.
America is being sold out from within, step by step, piece by piece. Post-Republic times. We know what the only way to regain a republic is, but in terms of their sophisticated rigging of the election system, the Govt surveillance apparatus and monitoring of all comms, the entrenched corruption of all their institutions, the weaponization of LE under Obama, and just the advanced mass-killing weaponry at their disposal, I think we are like 75 years too late. Hope I’m wrong. Still, for us Christians, our citizenship is in Heaven, so no matter how bad it gets, we know the ending is infinitely good.
