In addition to other problems yet to be discussed, the personality characteristics of self-importance, arrogance, grandiosity and dismissal of people he considers less than, are major character defects within people who call themselves ‘leaders’. President Trump reached out to everyone including both friends and enemies and offered his hand in friendship yet it got him nowhere in return. Virtually every person he gave a job to (very prestigious jobs!) in the White House and his Cabinet stabbed him in the back the first chance they had. Maybe being aloof and ruthless is a better way to be successful. In eight years not one of Obama’s appointments stabbed him in the back because they knew better.
Obama appointees all thought the same as Obama. President Trump did not have a situation where he could pick from a group of people who thought like him. He did the best he could with the situation. Now we have many more proven people and more maga people for him to choose from next time.

My work background was mostly in writing specs for and implementing new software business systems. So obviously I was on the side of organization and “systematic” work. Then I read an article from Rand Corp of a study they did (this was maybe in the 80s? and can’t remember the details) where some new design work was tackled two different ways, one being systematic and the other chaotic. In the end, the chaotic team got the best results. That gave me a lot to think about and I can relate to your comment that there is so much good to see and hope for even if it isn’t tied in “neat bundles” like we are used to seeing.
I also think of this in terms of President Trump. I think he is very methodical and deliberate and excellent at what people call 3-D chess. But you often hear criticism of him that he is chaotic. If is he in some circumstances, going back to the Rand study, I think that might be all to the good!

Read “ Taking Back Trumps America” by Peter Navarro and you’d never have Steve Mnuchin, Goldman Sachs prodigy, anywhere near President Trumps economic team nor would one have Larry Kudlow back in the White House.
The book is a bit disconcerting because Navarro lays the backstabbing and anti trump bias bare for one to see. It’s unbelievable to see the additional growth our country would have had without this.

The GOPe is actually quite smart in putting up DeSantis as their puppet candidate. There are many conservative voters within the GOP who still see the overall political fight as the traditional conservative vs liberal struggle and they consider RDS as being more of a conservative than Trump especially on social issues.
