Another three endorsements for President Trump today from the Florida congressional delegation, bringing the total so far to ten with more anticipated. Meanwhile, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is in Washington DC seeking support. DeSantis is warmly greeted, but President Trump gets the endorsements. What’s going on?
Republican Congressman Greg Steube gives an explanation below about the Ron DeSantis Floridians know, but nationally most do not.
DeSantis is an out-of-touch aloof persona, who generally projects himself as better than others. In person he projects an arrogance and condescending personality trait also carried by his insta-selfie supporters and ‘influencers.’ It comes through the camera lens. Everything constructed around DeSantis is fake, even the fake blue-collar handshakes that have to be photo-shopped to give a common man impression.
The donors are pouring in hundreds of millions to pay for the fake DeSantis constructs, Top Gov brand imaging and Madison Avenue illusions, but you cannot purchase authenticity, and you cannot rewrite the history of who DeSantis is. Greg Steube explains:
[I]n a brief interview last night [Steube noted] that DeSantis has never once reached out to him during his five years in Congress nor replied to his multiple attempts to connect. He recalled a recent news conference dealing with damage from Hurricane Ian where the governor’s aides initially invited him to stand alongside DeSantis, only to tell him that he wouldn’t be part of the event when he showed up.
Trump, on the other hand, was the first person Steube remembers calling him in the ICU to wish him well after he was injured in a January tree-trimming accident. “To this day I have not heard from Gov. DeSantis,” he said.
Things suddenly changed last week, Steube said, as Trump started rolling out his Florida congressional backers. ”For the first time ever, I hear from DeSantis’s political person,” he said, referring to aide RYAN TYSON, who reportedly contacted other Florida Republicans about their endorsements.
For Steube, the outreach was too little, too late. And he continues to have sharp words for DeSantis, criticizing him for his robust political travel schedule amid a busy legislative session and just months after winning a new four-year term. “Floridians want him focused on Florida,” he said, “which is the job they elected him to do.” (read the entire article)
Like I said last year, once people get to see Ron DeSantis up close, his disdain for people just jumps out at you. He loves standing at the podium telling you what’s wrong with you, and what is brilliant about himself; however, he just doesn’t like people in an authentic or natural way you would expect from executive leadership.
The same disconnected snobbery applies to everyone his team has recruited.
Ken Cuccinelli and Jeff Roe are two of the biggest self-important jackasses in national politics. They don’t carry an ounce of humility or introspection. They are always right, and the problem is it just takes too long for everyone to come around to admitting how great they are. This is the character of DeSantis that flows through everyone he associates with. Here’s an example from one of the ‘influencers” a few days ago.
This Twitter account is connected to both Representative Thomas Massie and DeSantis campaign official Christina Pushaw:
That tweet encapsulates the worldview of the average Ron DeSantis supporter in Florida.
This is why the overwhelming majority of the Florida Republican delegation, will not endorse him. These outlooks are toxic and elitist. Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis did not wear elbow length silk gloves at the noon-time inauguration day event accidentally. Casey already went shopping with Cindy McCain and has her 2024 tiara picked out.
As I keep saying, there are not enough people who take Instagram pictures of their lunches to make Ron DeSantis a viable candidate. The polo club, cocktail party circuit of people who eat crustless triangle cucumber sandwiches and look down their noses at everyone else, is just not a large enough coalition to win DeSantis the nomination. It means he will have more money; however, factually, the professional donor class is annoying with the level of self-righteousness and condescension they promote.
WASHINGTON DC – […] In yet another blow to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’s not-yet-official presidential bid, two more Republican members of Congress from his own state are gearing to endorse Donald Trump for another term. Reps. Gus Bilirakis and Carlos Gimenez are each planning to announce their support for the former president this week, multiple sources familiar with the matter tell TIME.
Their pledges continue something of a downward spiral for DeSantis, who has been steadily losing ground in the endorsement battle for legislators from his own backyard. The development is even more noteworthy after his political team recently tried to stop the bleeding by asking Florida Republicans to refrain from endorsing Trump.
Bilirakis and Gimenez have also committed to be at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach on Thursday night, as the former President hosts members of the Florida delegation who have already endorsed him, including Reps. Matt Gaetz, Anna Paulina Luna, Cory Mills, and Greg Steube. It’s not clear yet whether Reps. Byron Donalds and John Rutherford, who have also endorsed Trump, will be at the gathering.
Neither Bilirakis nor Gimenez responded to requests for comment. Rep. Brian Mast, another Florida Republican, has also told associates he plans to formally back Trump in the coming days. And on Wednesday, Rep. Vern Buchanan officially thew his weight behind Trump. TIME reported last week that Buchanan was planning to endorse Trump in the coming days.
All of their endorsements will bring Trump’s tally of members of Congress from Florida to ten, whereas DeSantis has just one, Rep. Laurel Lee, who announced her support for the governor on Tuesday. Before winning her House seat last year, Lee served as DeSantis’s first Secretary of State. (read more)
Lance Gooden (R-TX) – “Today, after careful consideration and a positive meeting with Governor DeSantis, I have decided to endorse President @realDonaldTrump for 2024.”
Rolling Stone – […] “Over the past few years, the Florida governor has risen to Trump’s top internal rival without even declaring his candidacy. And part of that rise has been fueled by his pull with the GOP’s megadonor class, who prefer him to Trump because, while he brings a similar set of MAGAfied policies, he has not, to date, attempted a coup. That wellspring of financial support has been instrumental in fueling his rise, but the investments are predicated in large part on a belief that he can take down Donald.
That belief seems to be wavering, as the donor revolt has been brewing since at least last month. And it’s not just skittish donors like Richard Uihlein or Thomas Peterffy, who went public with his complaints last week. Several other top donors to DeSantis were livid about the governor referring to the brutal Russian invasion of Ukraine as a “territorial dispute,” with at least one major donor calling DeSantis to urge a walk-back, a source with knowledge of the outreach and another person briefed on it say. “My understanding is that the message was: ‘If we wanted a fucking MAGA candidate, we would donate to Donald Trump,’” the second source says.
[…] Those polling troubles may be giving some megadonors second thoughts. Sources familiar with Schlitz Brewing heir and shipping titan Richard Uihlein’s thinking told NBC News that the “brakes are pumped” with the megadonor’s DeSantis giving after the governor’s lackluster polling has given some “pause” about his viability.
Other conservatives have taken to predicting that DeSantis is potentially the second coming of Scott Walker, another Republican governor and conservative-media darling who many thought would be the favored candidate in a presidential primary — only to flame out before any ballots were cast. I reside in Florida, 38 years. It’s not so great here now. It’s better than a Blue state. Appreciate what Ron has done in regards to the Woke. It doesn’t pay the bills. We are desperate economically. Property Taxes are outrageous, home insurance has escalated $500 a year for 5 years, auto insurance over is up $200 every 6 months for 3 years, energy prices rising and rising every day, gas at $4.27, grocery prices are unaffordable…….I believe Ron could and should do better for the Floridians who expected a Governor for 4 years. I believe there is only one Man who can get our country back. President Donald J. Trump, 45.
Property taxes in Florida are horrible because outside of the sales tax nobody pays tax in Florida except homeowners so they have to get money from someone. Rick Scott made a big deal about cutting state tax but outside of some oddball taxes there aren’t any. The real tax burden in Florida is the local governments and that’s property taxes. Even commercial buildings get a huge break from county property appraiser. Several years ago I researched the 40 story Sun-Sentinel Office Tower in Downtown Fort Lauderdale and it was assessed at an absurd $4 million.
Channeling Hank Johnson:
Won’t Florida fall into the ocean from all the people moving there?
No we will fall into an actual sinkhole because so many people are pulling out groundwater and we havent had measurable rain in months north of Tampa with a paper thin karst layer underfoot.
Not so much a sinkhole but a possible 40 mile extension of the Pirates of the Carribean ride….
This is a phenomena that usually occurs in Q1 every year when FARMS make large water draws to protect their crops from freezing. It is not a routine happening.
“Uh..we don’t anticipate that…” – Fast thinking Admiral Robert Willard.
You do not know what you are talking about. Tourism is the main contributor to the tax base. They pay an occupancy tax as well as sales tax.
As to property taxes, if your property is homesteaded, the base for calculating the real estate tax can not rise more than 3% per year. And if you are not homesteaded your taxable can now not rise more than 10% per year. And up to $50K is exempt from the ad valorem tax.
My home was homesteaded in 1997. The home cost less than $60K. I added an adjoining lot and my annual tax paid, including refuse and recycling, has never been more than $800.
Hotel occupancy taxes aren’t paying for your schools, police and fire services in Florida. If it accounts for 5% I would be surprised.
I live here Joe and you can split the matter any way you want but the fact is I have paid property taxes in FL for a very long time. Have you?
Your basis started so low, it is likely the Board of Assessors hasn’t caught up your value with recent comps. Wonder if any of your neighbors sold in the past two years what they are paying in property taxes?
Reading that NjP it appears to me that DeSoros is assisting in the WEF Great Reset…he really sounds like not just a transgender MAGA or a transgender Conservative…but he just may be a transgender Republican, too…🤔
I agree. I’ve been in SWFL for 26 years. Ron’s big focus is the social issues, while ignoring the economic issues. If he can’t multitask and handle both, what’s good is he?
That’s a great point. On the national scale we are desperate for someone (cough, TRUMP, cough) who can and will multitask—taking on the crumbling social infrastructure as well as the crumbling physical infrastructure, inflation crisis, border crisis, Constitutional crisis, international crises, Chinese expansionism and Chinese infiltration, economy A-Z, globalist/eco crazies, and the corrupt US government.
I want a guy who thrives on chaos.
And he is sure going to get it …. but Trump can handle it.
That should be on a T-shirt, banner, bumper sticker, and sign:
“TRUMP 2024 because I want a guy who thrives on chaos.”
He ain’t handling anything!
B/C he thinks “woke” issues are the key to beating DJT. He’s an arse wipe. Used.
NJP, you are fooling some with your bs but you are not fooling me. If your property taxes are outrageous, your BLUE county government is responsible, not the state.
If your auto insurance is skyrocketing, it is likely you live in a BLUE county with a soaring rate of property crime. Again, this is not a state issue.
Ron can not fix your local issues. That is wholly on you.
My first USAF assignment was @Hurlburt Field, housing was so reasonable, low cost of living. I got married and had my son there. It was great.
We have been back to vacation in Destin, and all I can say is wow, things have changed.
Sorry, wrong.
I own a home in Florida and also one in Illinois. Both approximately the same size.
Illinois home is three times as high as Florida in regards to property taxes.
Meatball is only ” in it” to split the vote and party. Sad. Career ending decision on his part.
I swear He looks like Tucker Carlson 😁
Tucker does not look like a sanctimonious meatball. Apologize!
He laughs like a girl though. Seems forced. Not as screechy or fake as Hllary’s, though. (Then again, I cannot think of a great laugh by a celebrity or historical figure that should be emulated. Can you think of a great laugher? Orson Wells? Reagan? Don Rickels?)
I wondered why Mr. Carlson, a former student at the private La Jolla Country Day School just a few blocks from me, did not report about the liberal Ph.D “head master” who forbade a male student from wearing a MAGA hat to class during the 2020 school year. The liberal educator’s excuse was that other minority students would feel “uncomfortable”. Even the student’s (single) mom was embarrassed and said that “I have NOOOOOOOO idea where he got the crazy idea to wear such an offensive hat”. (It would have been nice for Mr. Carlson to educate the head master about the 1969 SCOTUS student free speech case Tinker vs. Des Moines that codified that even students did not leave their Constitutional Rights at the schoolhouse door.)
Did he know of it?
Morgan Freeman has a pretty great laugh.
TC is a tall guy; Ron is not.
Blah, blah, blah. Don’t need to keep hearing the blather. Bottom line,…desantis if you are a true republican you will support our great President Trump. Otherwise, stfu and go away. We don’t need to split the party because of your ego.
Amen!
And shooting a smooth operating lever-action in any caliber is always a hoot!!
The only thing that matters is ballots.
No, no NO! Its NOT “BALLOTS” its ENVELOPES.
Without the envelopes, with the voters identifying info, which matches the voter identifying info in the voter rolls, the ballot is of no use to them, because they can NOT inject it into the system.
The mail out ballots enable them to circumvent the voter i.d. requirement, where it is required.
Thats why they pushed so hard to increase the mail ballots.
The sig verification they CAN circumvent, by setting the percentage of points that match rediculously low (they can do the same thing with fingerprint “match” of facial recognition, btw, as its the same basic program).
But its the ENVELOPES, with (again) voter identification that matches whats in the voter rolls, that is KEY to shoving MASSIVE #’s of fake ballots into the system.
If your going to repair a car, it helps if you start with a basic understanding of how cars WORK, and “whats wrong” .
it’s subtle note that so many have not yet truly considered.
you’ve done a very good job explaining what so many people continue to be confused about.
It’s not easy to think outside the box…we’ve been indoctrinated and amused by distractions for a very long time.
Big Respect for Sundance and those of YOU who are fully engaged and help make this LAST REFUGE meaningful and enlightening!
God Bless America
People who vote in person don’t need envelopes!
Dutchman is echoing the “How We Win” strategy articulated by Sundance… neither have been telling us how to cast our specific vote…😊
they will throw your efforts in the trash.
the focus needs to be on STANDING UP LOCALLY where it counts. and NATIONAALLY financially supporting anyone that will STAND UP THERE.
Arizona showed you what ass kicking they will do to in person votes.
machines down. ballot sizes to small or large or whatever.
they WILL NOT LET YOU WIN. they TAKE. you must TAKE IT BACK
find out what the sentence is for dismantling a ballot box forever. and if its minor let a college kid do it
this is labeled a joke. so the STAZIS dont kill an American – concrete fill that thing in. Fake HAHA
or a lawsuit that make those drop boxes un-usable until the court case has been heard AFTER THE ELECTION
why wouldnt they just throw our damn envelopes away?
they dont care what they do to us. they will not except a loss. we will.
we took it.
if we won, they would turn this country into chicago and burn it all down.
“The mail out ballots enable them to circumvent the voter i.d. requirement, where it is required.”
Which is EXACTLY how PA elected an almost brain-dead stroke survivor (barely)!
250K of these were mailed out to ‘anonymous’ and Viola!, Fetterneck gets ‘elected’.
“No widespread voting cheating!” they always cry!
F them all and FJB!!!
So Dutchman ….doesn’t really help focusing on ballots if they just keep pumping out fake ones…..thats why KL pushed for same day voting and would have beat them at the ballot game if they hadn’t got desperate and screwed with the machines…..courts if not corrupt should have ordered a redo. Their rulings to ignore 60% of machines in rep. areas not working was in your face…. ludicrous.
The median yearly earnings for full time workers in the U.S. in 2021, was $51, 480.00. Maybe they could earn more if politicians had not offshored most of the blue collar manufacturing jobs.
Well anyway, have a good time on your trip to Israel Ron!!
I remember when Andrew Cuomo was running for Governor of New York. Cuomo campaigned more in Puerto Rico than he did in New York!
Wow, I could never fit in with the DeSanctmonious crowd. I like bread crust!
I know this is going to sound idiotic…but my beloved mother in law had a succinct way of saying things without actually saying them. This was one of hers, which I believe suits Ron well…
“Smarty had a party.
Nobody came but smarty.”
Not idiotic at all! The old folks had a lot of wisdom.
Passing it on to our progeny and theirs as fast as I can, oldschool.
I do the same!
I see where you get some of your on the money sayings Betsy..🤣🤣👍
🇺🇸💪😀👍
The old ones are the best without question, Jim. What was old is new again.
True Betsy!
I find myself more often now, quoting my father and my grandmother.
Keeps us connected to the days that were, Alleycats. In these times, there is a lot of comfort in that.
Oh, Dear Lord, I say that all the time…guess I have an old soul 🤣
That saying and “give it a hit and a miss” for quick cleanup
Thee and me, Jeanine. Nothing wrong with that!
😂😂🏴🏴
👍🏻😁
Yeah! Me too!!
Toasted the ends on my $4.95 loaf today- boy have times changed – lmao -enjoy the ride
We fight over the ends in my house!
And I am not a fan of ballgowns before 5PM – Casey is NO Melania, more like Cindy and Megan McCain.
No one can hold a candle to Melania. She knows exactly what to wear and wears it all stunningly.
I cannot remember all the outfits she put to together each one of them with some significance to the occasion. Just today I chuckled about her “pussy bow blouse” worn sometime around the Stormy Daniels hysteria. I miss her style and class.
Actually she wore the pussy bow blouse to Oct 2016 debate–right after the “grab them by the pussy” October surprise by Billy Bush et al.
Thank you! I knew it had some sling. So much went on, hard to keep track.
I, too, love Melania and the beauty she brought to the White House. I would love to have a coffee table book of her in her lovely fashions she wore while in the White House. I remember the powder blue outfit she wore the day of the Inaguration and the gown she wore that night. She also wore a yellow gown that I just loved and many others that always had a special meaning. Her Christmas decorations were fabulous. She took such care to make everything just right. I miss her and wish her well.
Yes, yes yes!
great idea for a President Trump fundraiser
I would buy such a book. An added picture or two of POTUS Trump wouldn’t hurt
More importantly, Melania brought righteousness and class to the White House.
I also liked watching her visit children because she obviously truly cared.
There is a large coffee table book about FLOTUS Melania
with lots of nice picture of her time as FLOTUS.
Called..
Melania Trump Elegance in the White House
Lots of nice pictures..
There it is on amazon.
Where did you get that? I’ve never heard about a book for Melania.
Thank you!
That powder blue sheath with the stand-up neckline that she wore for the Inauguration was the most enchanting and stunning confection worn by anyone at any public event anywhere ever. It was a Sublime Fashion Victory and everyone who watched knew it.
I would say FLOT Melania also has a dry sense of humor !
Or opera gloves…
Casey looks like one of the NJ Housewives. Theresa Guidice. A taller version of Theresa. The one who tipped the table over. 🤣🤣
I always wondered why Casey DeSantis wore sleeveless dresses with low cut necklines at every outdoor political event in the middle of the winter. I mean, even in Florida, who does that?
Casey DeSantis’s fashion style is atrocious.
The dress reminded me more of Michelle’s.
The crustier- the better.
OMG! BUUURRRRRN!
“Today, after careful consideration and a positive meeting with Governor DeSantis, I have decided to endorse President @realDonaldTrump for 2024.”
Wow. Not even a polite “Ron has some great ideas and is a future leader in the Party” compliment.
Like I wrote a day or two ago. People know who butters their bread. Trump is loyal, almost to a fault. Ron is one of those “I only talk to people who can do things for me” types.
InstantClassic!
I wonder how many phone calls McConnell has made to DOJ to urge them to prosecute Trump for something.
I bet that number is not small, and I bet McConnell isn’t the only Republican making those calls. They probably already have a special prosecutor identified to target Trump should he prevail.
I wish we could get ten republicans to call for free speech online. I wish we could get ten republicans to call for investigations on the ongoing sabotage of food processing plants, dairy farm explosions, and all the other hybrid warfare attacks we have faced domestically.
But I am glad that ten republicans endorsed president Trump. Damn shame that Dominion and the CIA still control outcome…
Whenever I see Bunker Boy now I think of the guy in this movie. Sadly however, the fact the entire weight of the uniparty cabal is pretending so much to promote this fraud is a strong sign they dont care what real people and math thinks and that the elections are still rigged.
At least he has his stapler!! LOL!
It’s a Swingline!
thats his Feinstein phone.
Desantis was asked nicely to go back to Florida to take care of the people who was flooded out, but his new thing shows that he will not be going back soon. what a puss shame on him, everything that is happening to him is his own fault, Could his big money donors force him to run now even if he does not want to?
his job is to to dismantle your country, not help Florida.
he was offered a job in the Big Club – he took it. everything else is nothing.
Karl Rove & company are probably feeding him some sort of BS that “according to their internal polling” garbage & not believe his lying eyes.
He may be idiot enough to believe it?!
Rich Barris @ People’s Pundit & Big Data Polls, remarked on that the other day on one of his Inside the Numbers videos. Romney & Ryan were shocked how poorly they did. B/C they were fed/believed in the “internal polls”. There was a whole thing about “Unskewing the polls” which never happened in reality.
DeSantis’ spokesperson is a big, big red flag. A big red flag.
A Ukranian who got Zelinsky “elected”? Yeah…big RED flag!
a monster. that person doesnt even look human. i prefer ugly women over whatever that is.
Just my two cents but DeSantis is ruining his chance of ever running for POTUS!!
Its not up to him. Thats for the Club to decide.
Actually, you both make good points
after 2024 there will be no POTUS.
it will a digital cage, wrapped around your life. with a push of a button dismantling you and I
I still haven’t heard anything on the DeSantis connexion with one KENT
STERMON. That story went away faster than passed gas in a high wind.
Interesting…had not heard about this…

Lots of good information in the above.
Holy smokes, Batman! Everyone should read the above. Not one, but two alleged pedos in the RDS circle… Then there is RDS potential issues stemming from his time at a teacher in an elite school in Georgia.👀
Fought a substantial cult in the late 70’s, fought a school district, 10 + years ago, (they settled, replaced the superintendent, fired and replaced administrators, board members left in disgrace) and in both fights it came down to arrogance! Arrogance is completely unseen by the arrogant and is an absolute sure bet of failure.
So DeSantis surrogates make snide remarks about white people making less than 50K a year yet a huge number of black voters are on welfare but everyone knows better than to make snide remarks about them. The white working poor are the most despised people in this nation and should quit joining the military to defend a nation with elites who loathe them.
The fact that they do join the military makes them more despised. The elites and the people that aspire to be them have contempt for people stupid enough to join the military to make them richer.
Kinda like Crooked Hillary with her “Deplorables” comment. I am sure those under 50k/yr people are going to fall over themselves to vote for meatball. 🙄
Ron DeSantis can only come off as what he is ” poll tested and media made”
which is why he NEVER speaks with out a script… EVER
“DeSantis is an out-of-touch aloof persona, who generally projects himself as better than others. In person he projects an arrogance and condescending personality trait also carried by his insta-selfie supporters and ‘influencers.’”
You’ve just described the entire Establishment RepubliCONS. They don’t represent anyone – except their own special interests. They don’t represent “Main Street America” – they are the rulers and we are the ruled. Make no bones about that.
Even if DeSantis was MAGA (and he isn’t), what has turned into the Disney fiasco proves DeSantis and his advisors are not capable of the job of being POTUS.
I mean, if they couldn’t see that coming….well….
this is why PDJT matters.
Ron needs money. money needed is whoring.
ron is having to be a whore
a whore cant represent YOU.
this is a sad state of affairs IMHO…I am convinced the GOPe would rather lose next year with any other Republican than win with Donald Trump. OTOH, I have reached the point where I would rather lose with Mr. Trump than win with anyone else…but that’s just me and what do I know? I am long past looking for a “unifying” candidate who can reach across the aisle…I want a wrecking ball in 2024 and there is only one man who fits the bill. We can rebuild in 2028 as far as I’m concerned. Rock on brothers (and sisters, of course)
There IS NO AISLE.
Beyond that, I absolutely agree with you.
For years, the Uniparty was in a position of strength; they really didn’t care whether a Uniparty-D or a Uniparty-R candidate actually won.
This is what gave them the confidence to manipulate US, the base into voting for
“the lesser of two weavils” as we continued to fall for the argument that;
“but if you don’t vote for the R, just cause he’s not your “perfect” candidate, why the D will win, and HE’S WORSE!
WE have to adopt the same position of strength, which I have been advocating for, for some time;
ONLY vote for MAGA candidates, otherwise you are voting for your enemy.
The biggest impediment to PDJT, his 4 years in office WASN’T Nancy, it was MITCH.
I only vote to make the steal more obvious – so the next ACT can start.
im against not voting. my thoughts are my vote will make the steal obvious so people can do the STANDOFF.
Anyone who votes for more Democrat inflation has got to be an illiterate idiot.
Is it possible the FL legislature will not change the law to allow meatball to run?
Now THAT would be an unexpected turn of events.
That would be pure karma at work!
Now that could be The Plan if I consider deviousness. If polls for RDS continue to slide, he has an out. He can say, “The Legislature didn’t want me to go.” ???
/He can say, “I was elected to serve Floridians so if the legislature changed the rule or not did not matter to me because I knew I was never going anywhere.”
There, fixed it for you FarmerRen…and if DeSoros actually does say something like that it is doubly delicous. It just might be all about the Benjamins with RDS…who knows.
I honestly think anyway you slice it his political career ANYWHERE is over….
So….looking post Meatball, which Republican is waiting in the wings to be the next governor?
Chrispie Cream (aka the beached whale) 0f NJ.
See my link downstream about Chrispie
Chris Christie does look like a whale.
Americans have that independent streak in their DNA that makes them revolt against establishment.
Note that today is the 248th anniversary of Lexington. 🙂
Good catch on the anniversary of Lexington!
To quote Flounder in Animal 🏡, “This is great!”
I should not be laughing because I should never have watched that movie…but that was soooooo funny! 😂🤣😂
I actually saw that in Ft Walton Beach, FL when it came out. Funny that…
RDS will be toast before he even declares. Casey will be spitting tacks!
Maybe it says more about Trump than it does about Desantis. Dare I say these reps fear voter backlash?
Which is why they literally eliminated the possibility of it.
Don’t knock little crustless cucumber sandwiches. They rock.🤫
Cucumber sandwiches rock – with or without crusts.
A bit of mayo…some Old Bay seasoning = heaven!
what kind of meat does it have?
Finally! 🙂
Hey! Don’t bring them into the 🌳🏠…we don’t want their kind here! 😂🤣😂
Simply devastating. I bet Ron gets dozens of links to this article from his backers.
How long before they reach out at you Sundance?
My ad for Trump to run:
The new JEB!
Once you get to “know” him….
……..the more you “NO” him.
That’s pretty darn good!
At some point the oligarch donors for DeSanctis must be thinking ‘this dog won’t hunt’. The donors would be better to buy more south florida real estate.
Sure the Cruzbot ‘consultants and advisors’ running the DeSanctis campaign want to keep their grift going for as long as possible – no one else will hire them.
What Sundance said…
and…
he (RDS) has a horrible, pinched & nasally sounding voice that I can only tolerate for 30 seconds.
It’s like the male version of Hillary!
Cheap shot. I am for Trump but I think the personal attacks should have ended when you left high school.
And you are a PDJT fan? Truth at times is painful. His voice is annoying but it’s his back stabbing and silence that I can not tolerate!
It IS a horrid voice and his laugh is worse. A bad voice and/or laugh can turn off a potential voter, especially when delivered with a wooden delivery. Pointing this out is being objective.
Ron Desantis is an in the closet homosexual. He is sexually unfulfilled. His voice is the sound of a male who is not sexually satisfied.
Trump endures more behind the scenes then we know. Allow him his personal attacks.
Hahahaha!
I think you are missing the point. While there are lots of people who support DeSantis among donors and the general public, who see it as Trumpism without Trump, the GOP establishment doesn’t really support DeSantis. This is temporary support to stop Trump, and they have a different plan, kind of like how Karl Rove suggested nominating someone else in 2016 at the convention.
So here’s the question I’ve not read an answer to:
Who are the brain trust behind DeSantis when he’s playing governor? Who keeps generating and coordinating these (seemingly) savvy legislative bills and executive orders that attack the woke left and globalist corporations, and seem to be protecting Floridians from overreach by the Fed and various agencies (unless they’re raiding Mar-a-Lago)?
See Florida resident, NjP’s full comment upthread:
NjP: “Appreciate what Ron has done in regards to the Woke. It doesn’t pay the bills. We are desperate economically. ”
From NjP’s description, I don’t know how anyone who is not wealthy survives in Florida. There’s a lot DeSantis has not been addressing. Economics matter.
Define wealthy. I think I have done okay over the past two decades plus earning less than I do now on SS.
NjP probably lives in a blue county. See my comments above.
I believe NjP was particularly referring to auto ins, property ins and property taxes and gave the particular $ details too. In your area you’re saying those bills have been low not high? Odd that it would be low in one spot and going up by hundreds of dollars a year each on auto and on property ins etc in another.
The insurance market for property is a mess thanks wholly to the legislature. The story of wind insurance is too long to regurgitate.
The ugly truth is the insurance carriers have less risk than the citizens who backstop them.
I do not carry wind insurance because it is a ripoff. It is this way because the risk pool has been fractured to the point the actual risk is way larger. The result is very high deductibles that effectively leave the risk on the homeowner.
My home was in the western eyewall of Ian for six to eight hours and I had no power for more than ten days.
I do carry homeowners insurance to protect me from a meteor strike or fire and the cost is about fifty cents per square foot of living space for the year.
Auto insurance rates are a function of local accident rates and property crime. This is not a state issue.
And I posted detail on property taxes earlier. My auto insurance, straight liability $100K/$300K cost me $444 for six months. It had been running in the $350 range.
I live outside Washington DC, in a fairly high rent suburb in Montgomery County. Have been looking at new construction in the Sarasota area. The price per sf is running higher than my area. The estimated property taxes, HOA fees, higher utility bills come very close to eating up the entirety of the no income tax benefit.
I live on the Atlantic side of FL. I don’t know about new construction, but I do know that HOA fees And the cost of homeowner’s insurance is skyrocketing. It was very affordable until about two years ago. The Champlain Towers falling had a big impact but also the state Legislature is doing woke stuff not practical stuff to help regular people survive financially. Groceries are more expensive here than anywhere I’ve lived and the groceries are not that great. I will say that if you homestead, which I don’t think you can do for the first year, your property taxes will be a lot more affordable. If you’re a senior and considered low income, they also give you a break for that. The Florida Power rates are going up as of May 1. I know that it has been hard for people to get construction projects completed because of the supply chain. That is probably a nationwide problem though.
It’s my distinct understanding that bills are written by lobbiests.
Politicians are too busy hustling for campaign donations and getting made up for TV appearances to even READ legislation, much less craft it.
You are probably suprised to learn that Governors do not run states like a business. That only occurs when socialism takes root.
I don’t know who is writing these bills but I wish one of them would come up with a plan to solve the property insurance crisis in FL. The insurance commissioner isn’t helping either. Champlain Towers fell down…Ron told insurance companies to pay the claim…
Another ad for Trump to run:
When the going gets tough ……..
the tough Gov of Fla goes North to fund raising “whore deserves” event.
Comment deleted.
Lesson to learn here, be very careful how you treat people because it will come back to you. You should see how DeSantis treated Rep. Vern Buchanan during the redistricting process. Took away a county the man represented since 2007 and didn’t even call him out of courtesy. Buchanan is the chair of the Florida Congressional delegation. He just endorsed Trump today. Respect matters.
Yes, a simple act of genuine kindness goes a long way.
And Jenna Ellis questions loyalty… The woman is a disaster and her unwavering support of RDS is not cool.
Jenna Ellis tweeted ” (hashtag)DeSantis2024 WHILE she was representing Trump 2020 fraud..
Let that sink in.
We tried to get De Santis to override the putzes in his administration to release the numbers of times Planned Parenthood personnel have actually reported underage girls as potential sex abuse victims. We have reports from Florida police — no problem. But after the FL AG let us down, we contacted Rhonda at the governor’s manion and … crickets.
BTW we got the same runaround from the Texas AG office even though I spoke with Paxton directly by phone. Heyyy Abbott …. your AG office and state child protective services people protect child molesters. Whattaya gonna do about it?
By comparison, leftist California officials gave us this info and inadvertently proved Planned Parenthood personnel violated the mandated reporting law tens of thousands of times between 2010 and 2022.
Just saw this on Breitbart — This is kinda stunning, he’s saying DJT is too old. Guess he didn’t get We the People’s message ONLY DJT 2024!!

Representative Chip Roy (R-TX) said Wednesday on FNC’s “Fox & Friends” that he endorsed Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) in the 2024 primary for the Republican presidential nomination because he is not a baby boomer like former President Donald Trump.
Roy said, “This time, I’m supporting Ron DeSantis. I’ll support the Republican nominee no matter what. I’m a strong supporter of the America First agenda.”
He continued, “I think it’s time to have someone who’s not a baby boomer, somebody who can serve for two terms that we know we can get behind to root out all the corruption in this town and beat the swamp that President Trump so ably started when he came in in 2016.”
Roy must be feeling uneasy about his choice.
Yep,
I often write this, even as a British Columbian President Trump supporter one can see that RDS supporters are rattled.
Only an arrogant, self centred, bought and paid for Pri#k would have the audacity to run against President Trump.
Cheers!
Chip Roy has always straddled the ole RINO line
Time to tip that RINO over
Chip Roy endorsed RDS already. Something is a bit off about ol’ Chip.
Saw this today. Pot, meet kettle.
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/chris-christie-doesn-t-think-ron-desantis-is-a-conservative-after-disney-flap/ar-AA1a0XkP
Hilarious. Christie is actually triangulating believing he has a snowball’s chance.
Out of touch. Spends too much time at the donut buffet.
What’s this fixation with crustless triangle cucumber party sandwiches?
SD must be so young he has no remembrance of the traditional 1950’s Cocktail Party where liquor flowed like rushing gushing flooding rivers and the tables were creaking under the weight of olives, pickles, hams, roasts, desserts and of course, the ever ubiquitous Party Sandwich. (Watercress, not cucumber.)
Guess some folks just don’t no way appreciate tradition!
(roflol 😂)
Clearly you’re not from Philadelphia. Milk Punch was the traditional Party beverage in high society.
That was in the days before drunk driving laws 😂
Nope, they’d start with Martinis and Manhattans … I remember the jars of olives and cherries.
After a couple bottoms up of their “first course” thing would get serious with primarily whiskey. And LOUD.
The best I had was Wonder white Bread wrapped around a Canned Asparagus spear!! I kid you not. Delish !
Sounds like you remember the era well!
Any there were toothpicks stuck into savory meatballs…. What a period piece. What a time period!
The beer balls. They were delicious. Need to make them again sometime.
“Hang in there. He could die.” – – Karl Rove to DeSantis
Desantis is arguably the best governor in the US. I am not sure why conservatives are wasting time attacking Desantis instead of the dems and rinos that are destroying the country (and no, Ron is not a rino). Ron is doing great for Florida.
I’ve seen a couple of comments just today and fairly regularly from Florida residents saying the economy there is suffering with skyrocketing property taxes, property and auto insurance –eye watering annual hikes. NjP comment upthread “we are deserate economically”
Attacking woke is good, but as NjP says it doesn’t pay the bills. The ability to right an economy in trouble is critical too. Florida needs help in that department. Instead DeSantis seems to have spent the past months barn-storming the country –away from his responsibilities in his home state.
He needs to endorse President Trump, stop trying to split the base –and get back to the state that elected him to address the many urgent economic concerns -imo.
AMEN. I do hope they join forces at some point.
What Jeb Bush should have taught EVERYONE is that great governors do not necessarily make great presidential candidates.
I like Ron DeSantis, but mark my words: Ron bit off more than he can chew with the Disney debacle and it is going to stick to his shoes forever.
Descumtantis is RINO excrement.
Cheers!
I am in Greg Steube’s district and I believe Greg only won just under 66% of the vote last year. Christian Ziegler, the Chairman of the Florida Republican Party, is also in the district.
While we have a blue “island”, this area is about as red as you will find anywhere and the Republican Club of South Sarasota County, the largest club in the county is solidly and reliably America First.
It’s a nice power play to show up Meatball Ron, but Trump’s voters are already 100 percent locked in and he doesn’t need any endorsements. You almost don’t want him to have any as it implies horse trading.
I’m sure that Ron is regretting his decision to think about running against Trump.
His only move to escape this nightmare is to say he f up and endorses Trump and see what 2028 when Trump endorses Ron.
Man he should get of thought this out before the snakes appeared to swaying him to make this stupid decision.
He has a lot to learn.
Ron did not realize it when he did it, but he burned the bridge behind him with his Reedy Creek attack. If he retreats he will have that issue to deal with for the remainder of his term, as will his successor.
He has no choice but to push forward with his bid to the nomination.
You cannot buy or fake authenticity.
It doesn’t surprise me that President Trump called Greg Steube after his accident…..President Trump actually cares about people. We have seen it so many times.
Saltdog who made that tweet will eventually have a visit from Karma. And I hope Karma will be wearing her Red Stilletos when she kicks Saltdog –with both feet.
No War
Trump 2024
Good to see – if Trump consolidates early, it’s armor for any legal troubles the state tries to embroil him in.
I want to know who SaltDog is…anyone? I neither make <$50K annum nor do I possess the IQ of a goldfish. Would love to debate some of these arrogant buffoons, I’d have a field day! Friends in FL have kept me apprised of Ronny’s true nature and it’s not pretty…
Ron! said he needed to deal with issues in Florida rather than express outrage at the bs charges in NY facing Trump
Since then he has hardly been in Florida but instead is visiting other states, promoting a book he didn’t write and generally going about making a fool of himself.
Ron! You were re elected to deal with problems in Florida. Do your job.
And get some new friends.
He should have concentrated on his job, since the only reason he ran for that office again was to have a platform. How can having the Job make him look Good, if he isn’t DOING the Job???
Tacky Tacky Tacky.
But as for the Wife and how he dressed for the inauguration… They’ve been in the public eye long enough for him to know this is a job for his TAILOR, and NOT his wife – unless she has MEGA Professional Seamstress skills. You cannot take a tuck in a man’s suit the same way you do a lady’s dress. And it takes a real professional tailor for an ordinary man to step out on a very Wealthy platform like that. And it is worth Every single Penny to see that it is done right. It more than pays for itself.
And since it is a Suit, the Money is good for years if the man watches his health, and future minor adjustments during the life of that suit are well worth it. It used to not be very extravagant for the proper fitting, it was a sound investment.
I hate to say it, I should think from what I’ve seen the last 50 yrs, most women wouldn’t have a CLUE how to do it right, and few enough know enough to find a Pro who DOES.
!
I see what you did there!
LOL!
Needs to walk before he runs. Florida has done well with him & continuing that cause is what he ran on.
He made a poor choice by not working to unify those of us trying save this dying Constitutional Republic.
