Never letting a crisis go to waste is very useful tool, especially when the government creates the crisis. As CTH has said from the first discussion of the classified intelligence leaks, the “leak is the op.”
The intel leak is the operation created by the Intelligence Community to support new expanded powers for the Fourth Branch of Government. It should not be a surprise to discover the institution now leading the charge to give more power for U.S. intel agencies, is…. wait for it….. The Senate Select Committee on Intelligence.
The SSCI is the organizational institution that supports the Fourth Branch of Government, the intelligence branch. The SSCI previously created a bipartisan Restrict Act, to deal with dangerous information on the internet.
According to SSCI Chairman Mark Warner, ‘The Restrict Act’ will give more power and authorities to the Executive Branch to deal with internet danger. Now the SSCI sees the classified intel leaks as evidence for the importance of the Restrict Act.
Well, butter my buns and call me a biscuit, surprise-surprise! Funny how that happens.
(Via NBC) – The Biden administration is looking at expanding how it monitors social media sites and chatrooms after U.S. intelligence agencies failed to spot classified Pentagon documents circulating online for weeks, according to a senior administration official and a congressional official briefed on the matter.
The possible change in the intelligence-gathering process is just one potential shift as officials scramble to determine not only how the documents leaked but also how to prevent another damaging incident.
[…] The president and other officials were dismayed when they learned the documents had been online for at least a month. “Nobody is happy about this,” said the senior administration official.
The administration is now looking at expanding the universe of online sites that intelligence agencies and law enforcement authorities track, the official said.
[…] If the administration tries to check online chatrooms more closely, it will have to navigate legal safeguards designed to protect Americans’ privacy and freedom of expression, former intelligence officials said.
Watching a public chatroom is fair game, but law enforcement agencies don’t have the legal authority to monitor a private online chatroom without probable cause, the former officials said.
“We do not have nor do we want a system where the United States government monitors private internet chats,” said Glenn Gerstell, former general counsel of the National Security Agency from 2015 to 2020.
[…] Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Mark Warner, D-Va., said the leak raised yet more questions about how the government manages its secrets, only months after revelations that successive administrations appeared to have mishandled classified documents. […] “I think it’s time that Congress plays a role here in setting some parameters,” Warner said. (read more)
Just a few “parameters“…
Swear.
Promise.
Uh huh….
The Restrict Act, also known as Senate Bill 686 [SB686 HERE], also known as the bipartisan bill to empower the executive branch to shut down TikTok. Also known as the ‘online Patriot Act’.
Yep. Exactly this.
Just imagine when Senator Warner and all of his friends on both sides of the visual aisle get together to regulate blogs, comment sections, and more! These people are diabolical, and if you think they’re beyond using some poor twit in the Air Guard as a patsy to their program, you’ll fall for anything. It doesn’t matter anyway: They’ve got their narrative, and as Sundance explains, they will now run with it and press for the Restrict Act Plus. I knew something was coming when I saw they realized they were getting pushback on the initial unveiling. Whenever that happens, an Op must be birthed.
A new example just hit:
“Halp us big government! Pass the Restrict Act!”
What, two days ago they were blowing up cows?
Oh, accident, of course……………………………………………
WHERE WAS PETA in all this?
Where is PETA when it comes to crickets and millworms?
Some animals are more equal than others.
they ARE Peta
Nothing to see here. This is an ongoing fight between the Chik-fil-a Cows and the Chicken Gangs. Barnyard brawl, that’s all. 😏
Probably high school kids.
My bets on the Amish.
I think they are lying to play the victim, like we see them do everytime they have to backpeddle. I bet no one gets arrested for it.
I certainly wouldn’t put it past them to get some of their Antifa wannabe halfwits to call them in.
Hehe The CRACK down cometh.
I call BS. NO credible threats received other than from IC contractors hired to stage red flag events.
I agree. The IC used to put time, effort and money into their false flags, but now it’s like they’re not even trying. They’ve become so transparent and it shows a complete lack of imagination.
Threats from gun-toting, God-fearing, Nation-loving white supremacists, I suppose??
Tell me if there is anything easier to fake than a threatening phone call, especially when IC operatives are making them for their explosive propagandist value.
Who in their right mind believes this classified material is accessible on the internet? This is inane.
Unless it was through Hillary’s computer . . . anyone checked that possibility? 🙂
These senators and other pols are nothing but compromised hairdos, actors who get in front of cameras and do what they are told by the puppeteers. They are a distraction, lightning rods. Pelosi spilled that when she said that they had to pass Obamacare to find out what was in it. Oh, they are evil, of course, or they wouldn’t be compromised. I expect, like the “Biden” “cabinet”, Warner’s office has the appropriate handlers there to direct his words and actions, like Chakrabarti ran AOC:
>>>Chakrabarti led the Ocasio-Cortez staff and several progressive groups in writing the Green New Deal resolution that was submitted to the House of Representatives by Ocasio-Cortez and to the Senate by Ed Markey February 7, 2019.
Saikat Chakrabarti – Wikipedia<<<<<
Even wikipedia is quite open about it. These pols are selected for their “government leadership” qualities, the ability to con people. They are groomed by the ubiquitous “emerging young leaders” programs.
They are already shadow banning on Instagram…. I have to assume because I followed Trump all my messages have been going unseen to people I write. I could never figure out why I never got replies. Then I created a new account and noticed my comments from the old one weren’t showing up on posts I commented on. Commie A$$ B1tches are gonna Commie.
Thesis, Antithesis, Synthesis.
Wash, Rinse, Repeat..
it’s only 2 seconds
love it
Yep, Problem -> Reaction -> Solution.. It really is that simple, the problem is that it works.
Since Diocletian.
So, what’s the plan?
We all know where this road leads.
What is going to be done about it before it gets to that end?
Focus. The Restrict Act is the object, at least as far as I can see. Oppose it, and any form of it they cobble together. All the usual methods, and then some. These people are diabolical. I can tell you this: I told my wife this on Monday or Tuesday. I said “Watch: They’re going to push their damned new surveillance an censorship regime, the Restrict Act, because of this whole ‘leak business,’ and don’t be surprised when we later learn, some years from now, that the last of our online ‘freedoms’ were scuttled, and this leak had been the lever.”
So now, conspiracy theories seem to prove out, or at least become plausible, almost as fast as I can imagine them.
Yes, they govern by psyop- they stage a psyop and then use that as justification for whatever legislation they want to pass. This is what they’ve been doing for years.
Decades
“They’re going to push their damned new surveillance an censorship regime, the Restrict Act, because of this whole ‘leak business,’”
Didn’t Yellenstein say something about increased regulation of crypto in the wake of Bankmanstein? and that such financial shenanigans are a good reason for a digital currency…..?
Yes…I want to know, too. All we get is bad news and NO solutions.
And now they unveil their AI, with the capability of presenting visual, and audio images that cannot be easily distinquished from real images (I note now, parenthetically, from the sentence I just wrote that AI has difficulty assimilating that it is not real because my word ‘distinquished’ remains underlined in red without any accompanying explanation).
I suppose that AI was trained to believe that its images are real, but they are not.)
In any event, it’s my belief that the accompanying interview presented by WAPO is AI. It’s not that the voice is not completely natural, but rather that there is a kind of perfection in the sentence structure, with flawless vocal modulations, and, in general, the feeling that a human being couldn’t –on the spot–put so many cogent sentences together using slightly less time between sentences than would be normal. There’s also an overwhelming feeling at the end that that particular voice and mind could continue speaking indefinitely.
I wonder how many may have noticed something similar.
But the fact remains that this technology is amazing, and now dangerous to every single one of our freedoms.
This technology didn’t just appear with the advent of AI, it has been around for years with CGI and voiceovers. AI doesn’t really think for itself, it only thinks within the parameters of the programmer. ChatGPT having a left wing bias is a prime example of this. AI is just garbage in, garbage out repackaged.
Proven by the obvious bias in it’s responses. But you can be sure “AI” will be blamed for whatever heinous plans they come up with.
Yes. That voice was supposedly a teenager.
What teenager have you ever met in the past decade who wouldn’t be nervous, awkward, drop in a few like, um, uh pauses, and would sound like a mannequin.
Nope. That was a much older person or AI. That was no teenager.
“my word ‘distinquished’ remains underlined in red without any accompanying explanation”
It is underlined because it is misspelled. Try “distinguished”
Ah! Failing eyesight. Thanks for that.
I kept looking at ‘my word’ over and over to be sure it wasn’t ‘q’ instead of ‘g’, but alas!
They already know what happens in the private chats. What they’ll do now is to make it “legal” for them to do so.
Thanks, “Jack” Teixeira! (Soon to be Jacqueline?)
And to target and jail people.
Or just start shutting down sites.
They won’t have to. When people are arrested for speaking truth, people quit speaking truth on line.
They are going after anti semitism online and anywhere you can find it. A lot of young men are sharing info on bankers, big pharma, media, academia ,etc. online in game chats because they have no other outlets they can use. Everything else is heavily censored. So TPTB are freaking out. It was illegal to criticize them in Bolshevik Russia you would be sent to the gulag. It is illegal in Western Europe now. Haven’t you heard about the commercials being played all over TV? They are afraid the jig may be up so they and their puppet traitors push this as a way to keep the people in the dark. An awakened populace is a big problem for them.
That is not the problem. The problem is that it will be illegal for us to speak the truth in chats.
So Instead of that FILTHY John McCain, who helped get the Steele Dossier to the media, JOSH HAWLEY is their FILTHY messenger.
I used to like Josh, but he along with EVERY Senator is corrupt, or compromised by that POS Mitch McConnell.
None would put the Senate in Recess the entire length of President Trump’s term.
STOP ELECTING SENATORS. IMO it is the Biggest mistake in your formerly perfect government.
The Framers knew this 250 years ago. .
The 17th Amendment was a big “mistake” with respect to the prospects of the American people, but we were too innocently naive to notice. They took the Senate from our state legislatures, and replaced it with a puppet circus.
Just how many of those big mistakes centered around that one progressive icon, Woodrow Wilson. *spit*
The direct election of Senators via the Seventeenth Amendment, income tax with the Sixteenth Amendment, founding the spiritual predecessor to the UN, the League of Nations, and signing the Federal Reserve Act into law to name a few.
No doubt. Wilson was a turn toward the inferno, and a bad one at that.
Wilson was a total puppet. Colonel House was his handler.
https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2018/03/colonel_house_the_man_you_dont_know_who_ruined_your_life.html
Wilson: ” I am a most unhappy man. I have unwittingly ruined my country. A great industrial nation is controlled by its system of credit. Our system of credit is concentrated. The growth of the nation, therefore, and all our activities are in the hands of a few men. We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated Governments in the civilized world – no longer a Government by free opinion, no longer a Government by conviction and the vote of the majority, but a Government by the opinion and duress of a small group of dominant men”
Aren’t they all?
What would one expect when one makes a faustian bargain for power, wealth, influence, etc.?
I have never believed that, “unwittingly” bit by Wilson, I believe he was blackmailed.
Always hated Woodrow Wilson. Spit!
“They” didn’t take away anything. State legislators gave it away, because they didn’t like that an election for the state legislature was a proxy vote for US Senator.
That certainly was a motive for some, but for more on the progressive side, it was about turning these into majoritarian, statewide elections they could manipulate through the usual means.
“They took the Senate from our state legislatures, and replaced it with a puppet circus.”
given what some State legislatures have done to election law, one can conclude that they would have also found a way to f*** up Senate appointments, too
The Articles of Confederation were working fine.
Srsly – I am really disappointed and Mom will be, too. Do any of them (besides President Trump) care about American citizens at all??
Absolutely unnecessary. This guy was in the military and presumably held a TS clearance. They can already monitor his online activity to whatever degree they please. Zero need for new laws. It’d be like saying we need to raise the drinking age nationally because some idiot 21 year old airman passed out on the base static display drunk.
Well of course, but acknowledging those facts wouldn’t get them their Restrict Act, would it?
It would be like acknowledging that we already have murder laws every time some psychologically broken, evil moron goes on a shooting spree. How would that benefit their agenda?
Chasing after the few they are allowed to spy on is too restrictive. They need to spy on everyone everywhere. And search everyone for the use of criminal keywords like Trump and MAGA.
Database queries, fairly straightforward….more complex and a lot quicker with AI
There you go, bring reason and logic to bear in a virtual reality like DC!
It is simply the next step, given that the massive NSA supercomputers in Utah can spy throughout the Internet.
They have the surveillance: now the next step is to silence those areas of the Internet which they dislike.
Go Low Tech: Back to the Committees of Correspondence!
Back to posters and pamphlets distributed by hand and read without a computer!
Or talking face-to-face! 🙂
Make Carbon Paper Great Again!
Sundance: I love the smell of duplicator fluid in the morning!
And how do you distribute carbon paper
When the post office tracks everything?
Ummm
Make Ham Radio Great Again!
Sundance, what I love about the community you’ve nurtured here is that they “get it.” Read through the comments as I do, and what I see is a people who are intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually in tune to understand the nature of the world now confronting them. Kudos to you. You can’t fight what you can’t understand. You can’t oppose a thing when you don’t understand the motives driving it. The people here see it more clearly than any other group I’ve encountered anywhere. Period.
Better stock up on that and duplicating fluid
Speedisets
Gosh, I remember when gel stands were the height of duplicating capability!
Lol I hated that stuff. I’m of the generation that my senior honors thesis, 50+ pages, needed to be typed on a typewriter with carbon paper.
My mother had to keep her carbons under lock and key at work.
Please, that stuff destroys clothing…
This is a GREAT thread for throwing sand in the gears.
Ausonius: I’m perfectly OK with all of that, especially if the tavern serves libations and victuals, and there’s someplace to water my horse.
New and trending: typesetting and Gutenberg presses!
Geneva Bible, 1599, offers much Jesus, and commentary germane to current politics.
A return of the Linotype machines!!!
It blows my mind that “smart devices” are allowed on mil bases (SCIFs aside) – smart watches, smart phones, fitbits, bluetooth speakers in sections, etc… So many exploitable attack vectors that should not be allowed.
hope this tweet’s picture shows; invest in cans of silly string:
LOVE IT!
Paintball guns can do the trick!
And sharpies.
Remember the guy going through airports and other public places adding dots to the covid QR codes people were supposed to verify their vaccine status.
Just remember to wear your hoodie and sunglasses.
And leave your cell phone at home.
Last I knew, one of the latest IEEE Bluetooth specifications put the maximum range to somewhere around 300m to 400m.
Plenty enough for mischief with the notorious reputation for being a less than secure networking standard.
Communicate by carrier pigeon. Impossible (so far) to interdict. Of course, all of those wind mills to generate electrical power may pose a problem.
I predict a return to that bastion of middle schools, the mimeograph machine, I can smell that blue ink from here….
How I miss pen & ink!
Imagine if the Declaration of Independence & Constitution had been done on a computer.
The Swamp would just edit it and claim it was always that way.
Your printout would be declared misinformation and sharing it would violate the Restrict Act.
Off to the gulag for you.
Green Tavern
Does anyone think a private “chat room” has ever actually been private? Is this what we’ve seen before: SSCI/intel pushing legislation to legalize what they’ve already been doing anyway, but they now want to be able to weaponize it more ruthlessly, and out in the open? And gee, just in time for 2024 election year.
It’s like these scammers that sell “vpns” on the internet. What they call a vpn is really just a theoretically geographically anonymized proxy server, with encryption between you and the proxy at best. If a person thinks it protects their activities from being seen and tracked on the Internet, they’re really suckers.
Newhere: You are on the right track. They need more tools for the Steal of ’24.
Yes and no. They sucked the data off the phone lines used to dial into the internet/games. But, that was a very slow process, so, I doubt they did much filtering of the data of non-suspects. But, now, it is all so fast and the computers are powerful enough that searches can be done in seconds to fine granularity as in who said “xyz” to whom on such and such a date. And xyz can be a truth they do not want shared and for which the spreader can be jailed.
I wonder if he had to have acting lessons or was he a natural?
WOW! Marco Rubio Slams Biden and Defends Trump in EPIC Rant
In short, he’s read PT’s FL poll numbers!
Yep.
He has aspirations.
New legislation with new powers and new budgets to allow new grift.
Enough is NEVER enough.
NEVER A THOUGHT TO JUST ENFORCING THE LAWS ALREADY ON THE BOOKS. Same with guns. Well, not quite. They want our guns, period.
And what are we going to do about it?
All the while the Left and every damned democrat on tv calls Trump “an authoritarian.”
A dem friend of mine the other day called our guy that. No, he couldn’t name a single thing he did that was evidence of being an authoritarian but when I listed Joe’s stuff, he waved his hand. It’s not about logic. It’s about brand loyalty.
Dems are people who are inclined to be brand loyal. Even if their brand starts WW3.
Dem have a mental disorder. Period
The mental defects foundation is the lie
Everything from that is just more lies piled on
Until a reality is created that they feel safe in.
Penatrate thru that reality with truth and
You can trigger them into fits of rage.
I deal with the retardation on a daily basis as I live in the belly.

There’s no chance of having a rational discussion, once you hit them with the facts you can cue the melt down in 3, 2, 1…
Democrat party crossed into cult territory sometime between 1992 and 2008.
Bingo. I have this discussion with family all the time. They have irrational hate for Trump’s personality. List the good things he did for the country despite his personality, they don’t have to LIKE the guy, but it doesn’t matter. They would choose Satan himself instead of Trump. They have no problem with Biden, “support Ukraine”, believe anything from the MSM, quote NPR and CNN with smug superiority. It’s just not logical. Sometimes I think they are already controlling people’s thoughts with 5G, or whatever. They are like programmed robots. smh.
Rat Bastards.
The restrict act and also check out Will Schryver. I read some of his mentions from 2018 and that guy seemed to know what our government was capable of long before most of us really had a grasp on such matters. Some of you probably know him. He’s become quite a source for matters relating to the war.
A lot of what these Bozos have been doing since the stolen election just drips with flop sweat.
I’ll call it “Consciousness of Guilt”
Yeah….next it will be Anon frens who, out a good heart, helped the WaPo to possess the contra-band , so the Frens will have to suffer.
Remember the Maine, Reichstag Fire, Pearl Harbor, Northwoods, Gulf of Tonkin, 911.. Just to name a few – this seems to be the internet age version of a false flag type event staged in order to shift more power to the government. It’s in their playbook, always.
Yes, they govern by psyop–it’s been going on for decades. They stage a psyop, and that serves as cover/justification for them passing legislation that gives them more power.
Are we at once a week now, or twice a week? Has anyone here ever seen “Brazil”??
I’m sure that’s the reason for the op, but why did it take so long to discover? Bannon was talking about this on warroom and he says the reports say this Intel has been leaked on telegram, just out in the open, for months now. Why did “they” wait so long to “uncover” it? Is there more to this story than it just being an op?
When did they finally have all the I’s dotted and T’s crossed on the legislation? Was McConnell’s fall the enabling event? Maybe Mitch was holding them up for better terms? Who knows. Thing is, it is all too convenient, all too obvious, and more, I think the leaked info is either already widely known, or there are some faked nuggets in there to serve other purposes.
I can see certain members of the senate(one in particular) beginning a new crusade on the basis of the disclosure of US Special Forces in Ukraine. I can see all sorts of outrage over that overshadowing what’s being done with this legislation, and more, being used as an excuse by most to “do something!!!!”
Well, really, who knows. But one talking point I can see is, “oh my goodness, this was just OUT THERE in one of those filthy gamer chats for weeks (weeks!) — and all because our agencies didn’t have the tools to catch it early.”
That is my take on it as well, as well as the supposed number of pages in the 100s, when only 12 tops have been found. And for all we know it had been out there less than 24 hours. I will wait for the truth to be outed by 4chan 🙂
Nah, they are after the “gamer chats”, dark web” where Hilary’s frazzledrip video was floating around, etc., and were hoping for max “damage” from there.
YES!!!
Taibbi:
The Crackdown Cometh
Leaks for me, not for thee
https://www.racket.news/p/the-crackdown-cometh
On a flight, reading about the FBI’s arrest of Jack Texiera, already dubbed the “Pentagon Leaker.” A quick review reveals multiple media portraits already out depicting him as a dangerous incel who shared his wares on Discord, a social media app where “racist memes” and “offensive jokes” flourish. Writes the New York Times:
Well, clearly we can’t have dark humor or innocuous memes! Gitmo cages for all!
The Washington Post went with “charismatic gun enthusiast”:
The New York Times summarized key points in the secret defense documents, which among other things suggested “Ukrainian forces are in more dire straits than their government has acknowledged publicly.” Reading what’s out there, it’s not easy to parse what’s a legitimate intelligence concern in reaction to these leaks and what’s mere embarrassment at having been caught lying, to the public, to would-be U.S. allies the documents show we’ve been spying on, etc.
You’ll read a lot in the coming days about the dangers of apps like Discord, or of online gaming groups, which counterintelligence officials told the Washington Post today are a “magnet for spies.” The Leaker tale will also surely be framed as reason to pass the RESTRICT Act, the wet dream of creepazoid Virginia Senator Mark Warner, which would give government wide latitude to crack down on “communication technology” creating “undue or unacceptable risk” to national security.
The intelligence community has itself been massively interfering in domestic news using illegal leaks for years. Remember the “Why Did Obama Dawdle on Russia’s Hacking?” story by David Ignatius of the Washington Post in January of 2017, outing would-be Trump National Security Advisor Michael Flynn as having been captured in intercepts speaking with a Russian ambassador? That was just the first in a string of leak- or intercept-based news stories that dominated news cycles in the Trump years, involving everything from conclusions of the FISA court to supposedly secret meetings in the Seychelles.
When civilians or whistleblowers like Edward Snowden, Julian Assange (in jail for an incredible four years now), Reality Winner and now the “Discord Leaker” bring leaked information to the public, the immediate threat is Espionage Act charges and decades of jail time. When a CIA head or a top FBI official does it, it’s just news. In fact, officials talk openly about using “strategic leaks” as a P.R. staple. In a world where media currency is becoming the ultimate power, these people want a monopoly. It’s infuriating.
Watch how this thing will be spun. It’s going to get ugly fast.
>>“Ukrainian forces are in more dire straits than their government has acknowledged publicly.”<<<
It doesn’t matter, WEF-Zelensky isn’t worried. Like Netanyahu bragged, he “has America”.
The DemScum and Deep State are so scared the people will get wise and rise up
Peeps have been getting wise in greater numbers, they want to avoid the second part altogether.
So obviously convenient.
The Ugly Truth About Marco Rubio And His Gang-of-Eight Amnesty Bill
John Hawkins Dec 19, 2015
And, Rubio was Jeb Bush acolyte. What name is that, “Bush”. Same family that is backing Ron DeSantis.
https://townhall.com/columnists/johnhawkins/2015/12/19/the-ugly-truth-about-marco-rubio-and-his-gangofeight-amnesty-bill-n2095418
I do feel sorry for this 21 year old fall guy; a new political prisoner for the docket in 3-2-1.
Yes, I feel sorry for him as well.
He’s probably a spook plant. They would want control of everything.
Warner looks similar to The Chairman in the Atlas Shrugged movie.
Is folded hands the same as pearl clutching?
Which movie? They had different casts for each one 🙁
His crossed legs- interesting body language for a power person. And, the lighter socks against a dark suit-one step away from Justin territory. Creepazoid indeed, as Taibbi says
Seems like the Gov wants to “officially” absorb, categorize and track every bit of internet traffic like they do for telephone and radio band traffic. When they can convince half of the American public that this is necessary to a control TikTok and better watch for their own classified data being traded about; it’s getting time to look for someplace else to live where half the people are not complete idiots.
You are so right What will the next created crisis be? The possibilities are endless and we will lose more freedom.
It’s fascinating to see the admiration both Mark Warner and Marco Rubio have for the Bush’s. To say nothing of the support by the Bush family for Ron DeSantis.
SENATOR MARK WARNER: President Bush was a class act and I think he realized, and reflecting on this program this morning, American leadership is critical. But that leadership needs to be both economic, military, but also moral leadership. And I think President Bush did think about the transition from the end of the Cold War, as Vice President Cheney was mentioning, or his ability to deal with the aftermath of the Tiananmen Square massacre in China or his situation with Kuwait.
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/transcript-sen-mark-warner-on-face-the-nation-december-2-2018/
Revolting criminals. Moral leadership??? From THEM?
This means the package of documents that the adolescent gamer boys are alleged to have been playing with in a dark corner of the internet could only have come from someone with access to *BOTH* Pentagon and CIA reports. There can’t be many people who fall into that category.
But what’s the play here? Maybe there’s a hint in the Ukrainian announcement that, because of this damaging leak, their best-laid plans have been compromised, and therefore the “spring” offensive must be delayed until summer.
It’s PsyOps all the way down …
Hell No. Lets start the discission by nullifying the unlawful Patriot Act.
You nailed it again Sundance!
I just messaged little Marco, and informed him that if he supports the Restrict Act, I will work tirelessly to see he is not reelected. I am but one person I know, but a small spark can start a very large fire.
We need to all reach out to each of these SSCI members and demand that they don’t support the Restrict Act.
Another idea I’ve been thinking about for a while is to use the network of small community news papers to leverage our voice on issues like this. Almost all small town, or community news papers are close to the people, and tend to be conservative. One paper by itself may only reach a few thousand people, but those readers put more stock in what they read from their community paper than in large MSM sources.
I even once tried to think through a scheme to get all small community papers to organize such that all small town community papers in a state would speak with one voice on important matters. Then spread this out to region and beyond.
I hope ya’ll don’t band me from commenting by judging that I’m a lunatic. I’ve actually hung out here for a long time, and am impressed by how smart the Treeper collective is, and have always felt a bit over-classed (my fault not yours) to make a comment.
There are a number of online petitions against the restrict act, Ron Paul has one for example. I think if we all signed such petitions, called congress, promise to fund litigation against it, we could demonstrate this will be immediately challenged.
Thank you. I will look for that petition, and sign.
Well, I should have put two plus two, together. I recall when Bill Barr was demanding a backdoor be put in smartphone operating systems. Or something to that effect. The DS is a black pit labyrinth.
Don’t you love how things accidentally happen?
The USA PATRIOT Act (commonly known as the Patriot Act) was a landmark Act of the United States Congress, signed into law by President George W. Bush.
The Restrict Act, also known as Senate Bill 686 [SB686 HERE], also known as the bipartisan bill to empower the executive branch to shut down TikTok. Also known as the ‘online Patriot Act’.
100% against the ‘Restrict Act’, however 100% stand with Pres. Trump in banning TikTok: https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-57413227
Senate Bill 666.
There. Fixed it.
Thank you, Sundance!
I’ve seen this movie before and I can tell you the ending is shit.
Sorry for the spoiler.
After everything burns, humanity as always will pick itself up from the ground, dust itself off and continue. Hopefully a lesson the wiser. Or not.
The need to control comes from fear, and there’s no amount of control that can satisfy the weak and feeble.
RESTRICT Act plus Sen. Enema’s S.884 – Improving Digital Identity Act of 2023 = TYRANNY
Restrict Act PLUS. Fancy that.
If they are DETERMINED to pass the RESTRICT ACT—they should add an “online bill of rights” within it which shall not be violated by any provision in this act!
They want power to listen in on “in-game chats” to mine for “hate speech”
They will have their minds blown at first. Then pick and choose who gets a door knock from the FBI.
Just a theory.
They can already listen in, they just can’t prosecute.
“According to SSCI Chairman Mark Warner, ‘The Restrict Act’ will give more power and authorities to the Executive Branch to deal with internet danger. ”
Why wouldn’t he want to keep that power in his branch of government….? I seem to recall reading somewhere that the Founders envisioned the various branches of government would jealously guard their fiefdom…..
It’s ridiculous to tie the classified leaks to the internet. That’s not where governmentsecrets reside, and no 21 yo leaked them. This isn’t even plausible.
Imagine the government using AI to track virtually everything on the internet. Or at the very least targeting those platforms that skew to the right. Congress has no problem passing a law that is obviously in violation of the first amendment.
It’s a formula that has been working for over a hundred years.
Example, the bankers caused a money panic which created a demand by the public for the “money men” to not have the power they did and in the course of “correcting” THAT, the supposed cause of the Panic, the Federal Reserve was created.
The more recent example, the creation of the Patriot Act following 9/11.
What about all the other “creations” over the years, like the EPA and the Education Department . . . create the demand by creating the problem first and THEN the thing – the “program” gets put into place.
“I must be a mushroom. They keep me in the dark & feed me bs all day.”
Unquestionably, an enduring quote when applied to the Government..
Don’t trust Little Marco ever.
So their incompetency is going to cost us? We will be forced to pay the price for the fact that they are idiots who don’t know their right hand from their left!
And we definitely have NO COMMENT on the CONTENT of the “leak”… Limited Hangout… killing 2 birds with one stone!
Sooo, is this leak psyop (by a “gun enthusiast”, of course!!) being staged by the WEF to gin up more American hate worldwide to isolate us and instigate attacks on the US by other countries (WW3), or is it to distract, or is it to extricate from “Ukraine” because Boobus Americanus are starting to ask where all this moolah comes from that the US is giving WEF-Zelensky (whose personal wealth seems to be quite substantial now), and where it is going (“laundered” back to BLM-Antifa bolsheviks for a summer of fun?? That Ukraine money laundry is really working hard these days). Perhaps they are getting ahead of the story about American body bags (those “advisors) coming home? The “Restrict Act” is the most immediate goal at this point with elections to “manage” looming. Lots of birds can be killed with this one.
Meanwhile invading men pour across the border.
This kinda reminds me of the poor guy arrested for inciting the Benghazi riot and murder of our people because of his internet movie that only 3 people watched.
Just No!
Everything of the State.
Nothing against the State.
True or false is never the issue in the fascist State.
A handful of poor souls continue to argue truth, but most have learned not to go down this dead end. Evoking truth is the ultimate crime, under fascism. The truth belongs to the State.
Why is fascism so appealing? Because the adult becomes the child, and the State will supply all the truth you need. Those who question the State, like Donald Trump, have committed the greatest of crimes. He remains guilty, while the State searches for his putative crime.
The 1798 Sedition Act all over again. Lots of failed history students in Congress.
