Sometimes the apropos of the thing is just too much fun to notice. Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell is missing in action ever since his slip and fall/concussion a few weeks ago (insert shades of prior HRC issues here). The conspicuous absence of media questioning his continued absence is a little odd for a DC that loves to notice such things.
Meanwhile, sniffing the possibility of enhanced career aspirations amid the political winds of incapable McConnell, Kentucky Republican Representative Thomas Massie, sees Ron DeSantis as a vector to electoral elevation. Except, there’s a funny thing.
While Erin Perrine of Team DeSantis is quick to promote the endorsement for her managed Florida governor, a review of Representative Massie’s Twitter rapid-fire messaging doesn’t show the endorsement. Thirsty DeSantis, with slipping polls, contrasts against a teeth-clenched Massie with political aspirations…. We laugh, because it’s, well, perfect!
Meanwhile, moments ago, in other contextual sunlight, Fox News human cabbage patch doll Bret Baier, leads off the GOPe/Murdoch Fox News narrative engineering with the 6:00pm promotion of Glenn Youngkin. LOLOL… These cats are just too transparently funny.
Am I being a little hard on the “conservative leader” Thomas Massie, probably. But the reason is really breaking the cycle of insufferable battered conservative abuse.
Massie was an attendee at the Four Seasons DeSantis three-day donor retreat last month in Palm Beach. [See tweet from event] Apparently the allure of the Sea Island billionaire funding mechanism can permeate fiscal senses. I digress…
Additionally, Massie likes to rail against government spending, even recently using his opposition to the 2020 Paycheck Protection Program, as an example of his conservative bona-fides.
Now, it is true the urgently rushed PPP program was abused by some 10% of the employers who used it as a tool to defraud the U.S. government amid the urgent spending during the COVID-19 lockdowns and crisis.
However, 90% of the PPP program went directly to honest and earnest small businesses who were shut down and needed a lifeline to help their employees.
When President Trump and Treasury Secretary Mnuchin realized that employees of small businesses were going to get crushed by the lockdowns, most of which were determined in scale, scope and duration by the states, they knew something rapid and urgent was needed to support those employees. Big corporations could take the hit, but small businesses were extremely exposed. The Paycheck Protection Program was the way to help ‘Main Street’.
The PPP program was targeted directly to banks, small banks, local banks and credit unions that support the small businesses. In a brilliant bit of administrative red-tape cutting, Trump and Mnuchin used the FDIC program to backstop the banks and give the banks the ability to lend to the small businesses without risk.
Small businesses were able to go to their local bank and get an immediate infusion of cash to keep their payrolls afloat, while the FDIC program was used as a mechanism to send the funds to the banks. Tens of millions of American employees of small businesses benefited from the continuation of their paychecks during the lockdowns. Without that PPP program, millions of lower to middle-income workers would have no paycheck.
Yes, there was fraud and abuse by lying, scheming and conniving business owners who took advantage of the PPP program for their own financial gains. However, that doesn’t mean the PPP program didn’t protect and support tens of millions of people.
High-horse Thomas Massie would have allowed those people who live paycheck-to-paycheck and are employed by small businesses to be crushed without income. Thankfully, Trump and Mnuchin, together with support from congress – avoided that catastrophic outcome. The quick thinking about how to cut through the bureaucracy was a net benefit.
So yeah, Massie and his principles that would have allowed people to go hungry, can go spit.
Massie and Nikki Haley seem very much alike, lacking in the same way.
Loving it whenever Sundance refers to Bret Baier as the cabbage patch doll . . . we (my Mom and I) refer to him as the “Mayor of Dogpatch” on account of the view we were afforded of him on Election Night 2016 – he had his usual things on top but for the bottom half which we never get to see (hidden behind the desk), he appeared to be somewhat rotund, wearing jeans, secured by a belt that appeared to be made of either twine or rope.
It’s his eyes that make me crazy. His beady, small close-set eyes. He smashes the axiom that only the beautiful people get to read the news.
Ouch!
Very much on purpose in WI. What are folks going to do about this, some say there is no path for Trump now for presidency. WI SC loss was huge. Kelly should not have even won his primary, the dems helped vote for him even though he was a republican cause the female republican judge against Kelly was harder to beat in the general. While his refusing to be endorsed by Trump did not help, Ronna RNC knew that he was being outspent 8x and allowed this to happen? We need to do this ourselves now. RNC is against MAGA. My conclusion. WE ARE ON OUR OWN.
The fact that Trump endorsed Ronna McRomney, indicates he still has trouble spotting his enemies in strategic places. Sad.
Search engines Google, Bing & Yahoo (at a minimum) are currently not allowing search term ‘Trump Truth Social’ from access at present no matter how many pages are rerouted. Worse I’ve ever seen.
DS DDOS attack?
I just googled ” Truth Social+Trump ” and he came up on top.
Shows up fine on Startpage.
My favorite non tracking non data harvesting search engine.
Ditto Maquis…StartPage is my GoTo for search
Thanks for the advice.
That’s interesting. I use Brave browser. Always on the lookout for non tracking search engines
Brave is my browser…love it!
Startpage is hosted in Holland. Startmail is their sister e-mail; I use it for high-level communications. Startmail says they are not beholden to release personal info to any Govt. It is a subscription service, and well worth it.
it’s insane that they think they are going to raise their percentage points against Trump now….
so what’s the real deal? $$$$ and nothing else.
Rules are simple at this point …………………. only voting for Trump in the primary, only voting for Trump is the general. Everything and everyone else is a nonsequitur.
Don’t worry, McConnell has RINO Thune to keep the GOPe in line. Perfect harmony with the Uniparty.
I have been anticipating Mitch would retire after the midterms, and before 2024 election.
A big partvof his job, was maintaining the illusion of a two party system, while by passive and active measures, forwarding the Golbalist agenda.
He has been forced, largely by MAGA, both US and DJT, to stick his head out too often, and so instead of a turtle, mostly hiding in his nearly impenetrable shell, he has become exposed like a turtle without a shell.
First with Tea Party, and then with DJT, he revealed that which must not be revealed, and not because he CHOSE to, but because WE forced him to.
So, he has “outlived his usefullness, and if he stayed, would actually be a detriment.
THEY actually think, by changing the name and face, that we won’t see its the same old wine, in a brand new bottle.
As you allude, McConnell has outlived his usefulness. Rather than reinvent the wheel, suffice to say that the die was cast for him, as it was for Pelosi, by the J6 “Reichstag Fire.” Their fates were essentially the same, with the differences in execution reflective of the differences in the two-wings of the UniParty bird.
Say what you will about Pelosi, it took two rounds with her husband for her to get her mind around what time it was. The Napa arrest wasn’t enough so the Rough Trade spectacle right before the election followed.
It doesn’t matter whether McConnell got an actual clunk on the head or its mere pretext. It ain’t coincidental that he’s been AWOL since joining Schumer in denouncing Tucker for a tiny, momentary, amount of J6 sunlight.
After they failed to give McConnell an exit deal (via a Kentucky change of law), the next opportunity was to be following Kentucky’s Governor’s race this year. Assuming, of course, that it flips to Republicans.
Yet, the failure of “Trump Must Go!” has made Mitchell’s position as controlled-opposition Minority Leader utterly untenable.
That’s the shortest predicate for observing that what is most salient is the built-in flexibility of the radio silence about McConnell’s condition.
Note the curious similarity, if not pairing behind the curtain, of McConnell and Fetterman. Both of whom the UniParty is desperate to keep in place at least until the deadlines pass for replacement in special elections this year.
Massie strikes me as akin to Nimarata in getting used and discarded. After all, Team Meatball ain’t doing Massie any favors here.
Im glad someone else watches FOX so I dont have to. What a nauseating bunch of little dinks.
PPP was the least the Feds could do SINCE THEY INVENTED AND UNLEASHED THE VIRUS WITH THEIR CHINEE OWNERS IN THE FIRST PLACE.
FOLLOWED BY THE TUSKEGEE DEATH SERUM VAXX.
JUST Should have said FED ( as in Federal Reserve, as in PRIVATE BANKS )
Sundance and Bannon with Others Have AWAKENED a LOT of the plebs to THE FACT that the politicians ANSWER TO THE
FED
AUDIT THE FEDERAL RESERVE !
RIP MASSIE…
Tucker’s opening monologue tonight was exactly like reading a Sundance article. In fact, I feel that he may be doing deep dives into Treehouse archives. I hope he reads the content of this amazing author, Sundance.
God bless all…
His staff does his research…. so … it could very well be
I maintained about six months ago that Tucker reads and channels our Sundance
In his interview, he says he watches -0- TV or movies, and does not read on the I-net either, IIRC.
Says he has dislexia.
Apologies, I accidentally flagged my own comment.
Just putz and putz and putz again. My gosh, I am already so sick and tired of these people.
RINO Senator Mitch McConnell helped the
Democrats destroy the GOP.
I am sorry, I can’t laugh at any of this.
Don’t be sorry.
It’s not funny.
Yup, just like I told you a week or so ago Sundance, the word among some high roller oil company executives who hand with people like Jamie Dimon, at least three of the big money donors to the Establishment have basically bailed on Desantis and are looking at Youngkin and apparently communicating with his people about jumping into the race!!! He is seen as just as successful but a much more polished version of MEATBALL! 😂🤣😂🤣😂
Massie comes across as a POLITICAL WIERDO and I think would have a tough time winning that seat if James Comer throws his hat into the ring!!!
Not all commenting here is permitted if it provokes an independant thought. I guess anti-group think is subversive. Got it.
There were other martyrs for the truth. I would rather fight for the truth and loose than align myself with the devil.
Been in the House, since 2016, seen many posters come and go,..
Many times I have posted comments respectfully disagreeing with Sundance, usually taking a slightly different view, occasionally a significantly different view.
Many times, I have posted comments taking very different views to the concensus, and experienced significant attacks to my position.
Its called DEBATE, and I relish it. HOW can I be confident in my view or opinion, unless it is TESTED by challenge, from those that hold a different view?
Having everyone agree with me may give false reinforcement, but it does not “prove by testing” the way a challenge does.
Over time, I have seen SOME of my most challenged views, become the accepted view at the treehouse, BECAUSE many read my views, the challenges TO my views, and my responces.
For instance, early on I began posting that we should NOT vote for RINOS, as “the lesser of two weavils” and believe it or not, I was initially in the minority, with only a few agreeing, and most argueing against me.
This was before 2018, again in 2020, and again in 2022. fkaserena and I went round and round and round about this.
SHE made HER arguments, I made mine, and gradually (based on concensus of comments now) my arguments prevailed.
THATS what “Free Speech” and DEBATE is all about. So, cry “oh, nobody wants to hear differing opinions” if you want, but if you believe your views are valid, POST them, respond without rancor or personal attacks to those that disagree, and IF your views can stand the test of challenge, they WILL become the view of the house,…until someone comes along with a different view, that challenges the groupthink.
Yes, I have disagreed on here with Sundance specifically on DeSantis initially. But, as DeSantis’ true character has been revealed by events, I have to agree Sundance saw it first.
Here’s what matters more than posters butt-hurt feelings. The election outcome of your arguments prevailing was the Democrats retained control of the Senate and a self-inflicted ruination of an all but certain red wave.Nice job. “Mine” as you refer to the ill advised narrarive that obviously was only going to benefit Democrats all along seems to have not been sufficiently tested. Okay, you named one. Why is that, so few of those challenges you relish, do you think? So few calling out the very idea ‘dancing in our heads of knowingly electing Democrats as a way to “show them” to the not conservative enough for me RINO’s?Our justifications, our rationalizations all look and sound so hollow now. We made this bed. Paved Biden’s path. WTH were we thinking?
That’s true when any group of people get together, a consensus becomes a “norm” and when a new idea is entered into the group mind there are those that immediately jump in with a ‘that’s not the way it’s done’ reaction – just be true to yourself, continue to enter the conversation, claim that branch in the Treehouse and see what happens.
Following the commenting guidelines is always a great help in finding ways to relay ideas others might at first find foreign.
There are commenters that no longer participate, and to me, they are missed every day, often would find myself thinking about things in a new way because of their comments, but people come and go all the time, life happens.
Sometimes the reaction, which might appear as a cult of personality where Donald Trump is concerned, I believe comes from fear, with no obvious additional anvils stepping up to assist in stopping the machine, it’s easy to see why so much faith is being put on one man.
Life’s a work in progress. Every voice has something to add. Stick around, see what happens.
I think of “Trump” as a short hand for the America First Movement when reading comments; which will exist even after Trump is gone.
I have gained SO MUCH knowledge from the commenters here. My comments have not been suppressed (unless of course I posted bad words or innuendos 🤣) My views are not always aligned with everyone here, but that’s okay. Plus, I post to get my message out…could give a crap if I get any upvotes or not.
there is a remedy for diehard liberal hivemind….but is there a remedy for fake conservatives?
inflection point….who are the british loyalists? and when they are exposed as the true cancer of a free people, what shall be the response?
Now for a bit of truth humor

God Bless America
🤣 🤣
If Massie is endorsing DeSantis why didn’t he release his own endorsement in his own words?
It’s weird to have a third party release what you told them and call it an endorsement.
It’s called balls…
. . . or lack thereof.
The FOG, ( political positioning ), Gets Kind Of THICK Up in there Kentucky Hills with the Gentle Breezes –
BUT The WIND, ( talk ), IS ALWAYS BLOWING across the SAND BAR ( Florida ); either in Dress Code, Sports Cars OR POLITICS

The cleaving of the RINO’s/GOPe is a sight to behold. Another Hat Tip to Sir Sundance for exposing the strings.
Messy is the biggest grandstander in the Republican party, a total beta.
Good eyes. “Once you see the strings,..”
It used to be easy for them to hide, because we really had no “compare and contrast” and we SO wanted to have somebody, ANYBODY (Buhler,..?) that would represent us.
Now, with authentic candidates like PDJT and KL, we look back at Romney/Ryan and think “How did I not SEE it?”
Actually, SOME of us, did.
Anyway, if he fooled you, understand its because your eyes were blurred by EMOTION, and if you “saw it right off”, recognise you have, or are developing DISCERNMENT.
I will admit it. I was deceived. I was a big fan of Massie. I’m left wondering if there is any politician one can trust–even with our attempts at regular verification.
Massie–rhymes with Lassie. One is a bona fide bitch, the other is a son of one.
I knew Massie was a fraud when he refused to object to the stolen 2020 election because to do so would “violate the Constitution.” Lol, ok.
If he wanted to be of help to us he would start revealing things. Yet he never does. Instead, like all fraud GOP politicians, he gives great speeches and appears on conservative podcasts to serve up red meat for naive GOP voters who still have hope in this illegitimate farce of a system. But it’s always just words, never results. So of course he endorses DeSantis.
Massie was a Tea Party candidate and we had big hopes for him. The night of his first election, my family and I went to his victory party. When we spoke to him that night his first question was “Can I count on you to volunteer for my reelection campaign?” Hadn’t even gone to Washington yet and he was already thinking about preserving his political career. Told me all I needed to know about the man.
Well, that is job one for any elected official: Get re-elected.
Well, another bites the dust.
Massie is killer smart, this is disappointing but he probably has some reason for this sad endorsement.
“Politics is showbusiness for ugly people” (Roger Stone). Messy gets it.
Shame, there were some conservative areas where Massie aligned with MAGA, however he picked the wrong friends and side and now will have to live with being a loser. Go back to the hills of KY and work on math equations.
For the left you cant be radical enough. On the Right its a party of half true conservatives and the other half wanting to be liked by the left, looking the other way as the country is robbed and selling out to get some crumbs.
Being nice to an enemy who is plotting every day and night to bankrupt you, imprison you, kill you, cheat you has not worked for 70+ years, why would you think this will change their minds and behavior?
Bret Baier. Tucker Carlson. Both dance to the Murdoch fiddle. ☘️Watch Emerald Robinson ☘️ She is brave
Conflating BB and TC is a patently FALSE comparison. While Tucker is paid by Murdoch, he’s about all we have on Fox. BB is just reading the scripts given to him. At the very least, “loose cannon” Tucker makes all the right people VERY nervous. More sunlight, please.
All the traitors to our republic need to be perp walked to a Nuremburg 2.0 to stand trial for crimes against humanity with no statute of limitations. Roman proscription should be instituted so the criminal looting of our people can be clawed back to pay off the national debt and institute return of dollars backed by gold and silver.
Hear, hear!
Bret Bair “human cabbage patch doll” 😂😂 You have outdone yourself this time Sundance! Brilliant
https://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2023/04/06/massie_says_trump_is_wrong_about_desantis_149079.html
From Real Clear Politics article today:
“The most outspoken libertarian in the House, it was Massie, not Trump, who opposed Ryan. He was the only Republican to vote against him for speaker, a move Massie worried “would attract the wrath of President Trump” because, at the time, “that’s how strongly Trump had endorsed him.”
“Go back and roll the tape,” Massie told RealClearPolitics, noting how Trump’s endorsement effectively quelled all opposition from the speaker’s right flank. A perennial thorn in the side of GOP leadership, he tried assuaging the anger of the populist president by cribbing his vocabulary. On the floor, Massie said his opposition stemmed only from a desire “to drain the swamp.”
The current Trump complaint that DeSantis was in cahoots with Ryan while in Congress, Massie said, “is a joke.”
We live in interesting times.
this articial is wrong trump never endorced ryan the people in congress was playing ryans game and everyone was trying to get that creep to run, maybe massie voted against him but i dont remember president trump being infavor of anyone.
he was trying to stay out of everything right then. and as for desantis that creep would have sold his soul to do anything just as he is now . he is up to his dirty eyebrows in the establishment and if they nominate him they will get the same terrible people that are running washington right now
It always comes down to a choice. I’ll take a Massie over much of what exists in the Senate, but the Massies and the Cruzs might be allies on many things whereas the Murkowskis, Ernsts, Collins, Romneys are roadblocks. That said, the warning is well noted.
The PPP process docs were ingeniously simple; a perfect noose for highly streamlined prosecution and conviction should you betray your duty to the self-certification process required to get the funds.
There was certainly abuse and criminal abuse, but they all have their heads in that noose and all the feds need do is pull the rope and they will be swinging.
The greater problems with the process are where you’d expect them: the refusal to uniformly enforce the law.
When the dust settles on the PPP process, my hunch there will be less overall effective fraud that typically occurs in large federal programs. Further, what is ironic: the money flowed across the main streets of America like a great benevolent tide in record time. Even the stolen money from fraudulent self-certification had some beneficial effect amidst the financial emergency.
We just need to send fleets of front-loaders to go scoop up the fraudsters who submitted bogus self-certifications. They are already prepped and ready to swing.
👏 👏 👏 👏
It matters nothing to me who endorses Ron DeSantis. I will not vote for him.
Rino McConnell married a communist Chinese women he became a socialism Democrat,
why not all Republican together and Remove Rino McConnell,But I know They are NO guts,
To rephrase the central argument of this article: Thank goodness Trump joined in with the entire Swamp to promote the most massive increase in Federal Spending ever… to save us from the lockdowns that Trump and his administration were pushing. (Remember, DeSantis only agreed to a mild lockdown in Florida after Trump pressured him hard… And reopened shortly after Trump criticized Kemp for lifting restrictions on small businesses that were being crushed.)
Meanwhile, “High-horse Thomas Massie would have allowed those people who live” free and safe, while not advancing the WEF forced scarcity agenda… And prevented the terrible spending package that raised baseline spending levels (enabling the massive inflationary spending we are suffering under now).
Trump did some great things, but we don’t need to pretend he didn’t make mistakes… Or pretend that the few voices critical of those mistakes are enemies.
DeSantis is SUCH a fraud, and his girl, Pushaw, worked in Ukraine for a Soros-related shill. Nice to see the picture of Chrissy and Massie all happy. The question people need to ask is how Pushaw became Ronnie’s press secretary when she came back from Ukraine, and is now his chief election trouble-shooter. It all smella worse than the Swamp.
