It is I that won’t deal with them because, like Ron DeSanctus, they are GLOBALISTS who want to cut Social Security and Medicare, and also raise the minimum age for Social Security to at least 70. I bought a new truck in 2021, and while dealers were charging premiums, I got $1000 off for using their credit. Then they gave me $8000 over the bluebook price for a 3.5 year old F150 with a quirky, hard shifting, and probably soon-to-fail, 10-speed transmission with 85,000 miles.
I could have paid off the difference, but why would I if they were willing to give a 36 month loan at 0% interest.
The deals were so good in 2021 I ordered a new vehicle for the wife, after she totalled her 14 year old sports car, and financed it a 1.9% interest for 5 years.
Bank CDs are paying 4.75-5%!
I could have paid, but I rather pay them over time with devalued dollars. It’s not a bad thing to be leveraged in inflationary times, especially with the clowns in charge. Hyperinflation is a real possibilty.
Another thing I considered was that vehicles weren’t ever going to drop in price, so as every year passed, it would cost more for a replacement.

Pre-computer generally means pre-fuel injection, although even with carbed vehicled in the 80s, they were electronic carbs in many cases.
Computers in Throttle-body, early port injected, and electronic carb vehicles do not have the capabilities of this new stuff with remote shut down and such, but we’re been using electronic ignition since about 1975 give or take, which itself and everything that came after are succeptible to EMP.
Generally speaking, even year 2000 stuff isn’t ‘remote takeover’ capable.
TBI = throttle body injection. In use since 1988 by GM trucks and their other 5.0 and 5.7 V8s. Going back to the 70s the corvette used TPI (tuned port injection) which was brought to the camara/firebird in the early 80s. Caddys had been using the tech since the late 70s also. You would have to buy something pre-1980 to really be in the clear, and even then you’d have to do your homework
What’s the fuel economy?
My wife’s car has a turbo charged 2.0L inline 4 that does 0-60 in 5.1 seconds and get 37 mpg all day at 80 mph, and 40-45 mpg, depending on the wind, when driving the back roads at 60 mph. My only bitch is the 91 octane fuel requirement.
Nothing is better about old cars when one considers the powertrain, steering, handling, suspension,braking, entertainment, and fuel economy.
They may bring back fond old memories, but I prefer to drive a modern car.
My truck has a souped up engine. Melling LS cam for the VIN K motor, high compression rings, piston, head, and edelbrock performer intake. On 87 I get 15, on 91 I get 12 (runs much nicer though). With that said the ECU is still quite basic. It basically just manages the emissions, and throws a check engine light if something is off. Still has a stator/distributor with regular plus and wires. Really not different then a carbed pre 88 truck.
And this truck has 374k miles on the chassis, but I fix everything that breaks. Other then some light hail damage I have yet to fix this truck is cherry. AC, power windows and locks, remote entry/start, etc. I will probably be buried in it when I die 😆

Not sure if this has been mentioned but the Montana State legislature has a House Bill pending, number 645 regarding COVID.
A Montana Lawmaker is concerned that blood and tissue donations from people vaccinated against COVID- 19 should be prohibited since he believes there’s science that backs up the risks this places the public receiving those donations.
The concern that once vaccinated for COVID the individual’s blood is tainted it “contains gene-altering proteins or isolates.”
The proposed bill would BAN individuals who received the COVID vaccine from donating blood and make it a misdemeanor with a $500 fine!
I am shocked this is already being formally debated in a state’s legislature.
If you want further information just look up House Bill 645 it pulls up several articles regarding the pending legislation.
If I were the vindictive type I would send that to several people who were fanatics about COVID and the vaccines.
This is a concern if there is validity to this since blood supply issues would likely arise and solidify many people’s concerns about the long term danger of these COVID jabs. It also doesn’t help that the public trust in the medical field has plummeted!
If I were getting any kind of surgery I would request my own blood supply since I would not trust what scientists and researchers conclusions regarding this issue, anytime soon!
This may just be grandstanding by the Republicans however, the roll out and push to get everyone vaccinated and boosted makes me wonder how safe our worlds blood supply is!
There would need to be a testing mechanism for the blood which apparently doesn’t exist. Even if it did, I wouldn’t trust it. There would be no way to know of its accuracy.
