These Freedom Cities will reopen the frontier, reignite American imagination, and give hundreds of thousands of young people and other people, all hardworking families, a new shot at home ownership and in fact, the American Dream.
Another big opportunity is in transportation. Dozens of major companies in the U.S. and China are racing to develop vertical-takeoff-and-landing vehicles for families and individuals. Just as the United States led the automotive revolution in the last century, I want to ensure that America, not China, leads this revolution in air mobility. These breakthroughs can transform commerce, bring a giant infusion of wealth into RURAL America, and connect families and our country in new ways.
Likewise, through our Strategic National Manufacturing Initiative, which is going to be very big and very, very successful, we will turn forgotten communities into hives of industry, producing the goods we will no longer import from China.
We will also have a major initiative on lowering the cost of living, with a special focus on lowering the cost of a new car and lowering the cost to build a single-family home. And they will be beautiful homes.
And I will ask Congress to support “Baby Bonuses” for young parents to help launch a new baby boom.
Finally, I will challenge the governors of all 50 states to join me in a great modernization and beautification campaign—getting rid of ugly buildings, refurbishing our parks and our public spaces, making cities and towns more livable, ensuring a pristine environment, and building towering monuments to our true American heroes.
Very importantly, I will also make sure all of these new places are safe. We love and cherish our police. They will do the job the way they have to.

I have doubts about government being involved in building new cities, and wonder about kickbacks from the construction companies building the cities, to Congress people and government employees.
There is a long history of such corruption going back several centuries in this nation. The transcontinental railroad and Civil War contractors are just two examples.
Now if Mr. Trump wants to open US government held lands to a sort of urban homesteading, where people could choose their own contractors or build themselves, that might be something to consider.
But I would hope that these lands would not be land that would be better used for food production and would have an adequate water supply.
I don’t see a problem with the “settlers” as much as I do with the government employees who would be involved.
Right now the US government is pretty much captured by the “dregs” and I would hate to see them in charge of designing and building any such city.
I feel sure the result would be disappointing at best and disastrous at worst.
Likely these “central planners” would open these cities to illegal aliens and criminals, in the name of social justice.
Then again,if they did, perhaps we normal patriots could wall off these new cities, quarantining them from infecting the rest of the US.

Glad there are places in the east. Most Federal land is in the west. And these new cities will also need new infrastructure. Not Obama waste our money on Democrats, but real roads, airports, power lines, etc, which will also require land.
Once a couple of cities are established the crummy Dem disaster areas will fold up and be abandoned with all kinds ‘infrastructure’ available. You can recycle asphalt and copper wire.
It’s federal because the states couldn’t keep up the expense of it. Not fertile, barren, not enough water. So they signed it over to the feds.

Is is true that soil can be built with composting techniques? And there are places that have refined water use and recycling to an art; Israel, Singapore and elsewhere. When I was a child, I remember wishing that local businesses would not have used our beautiful creeks as sewers.
I think it is doable. And also in favor of sidewalks, bike lanes, playgrounds and exercise parks for people and dogs, libraries, composting toilets…vertical gardens…

Generally speaking I support President Trump and his vision but I can’t get behind this. Build 10 new cities in what is currently open, undeveloped and beautiful American landscape? How about put those resources into building new, modern and convenient housing somewhere that already has infrastructure? Somewhere like Detroit, Minneapolis, Cleveland, Pittsburg, Baltimore, Chicago, St. Louis, New Orleans, Albuquerque, Portland and los angles to name a quick few.
I would much prefer rebuilding our existing great cities to building new ones.
Any monies left over can be used for extra policing. Also a gallows in front of city hall. To keep the commies on their toes.
Most of all the big cities you mention are built up now and so crowded, it takes most people hours to get to work.
The traffic going anywhere is horrendous.
Atlanta, Miami, Orlando, Charlotte, Columbus, etc. are nightmares of traffic at many times during the day and night.
I keep wondering: WHO IS DOING THE WORK?! Why are the streets and freeways jammed in the middle of the day?
Many years ago, Johnny Carson wondered the same thing while making a little joke: on a day off he was in the middle of a massive Los Angeles traffic jam at 1:30 in the afternoon:
“So I had to ask myself: Don’t any of these drivers have jobs? They can’t all have late-night talk shows with a day off!”
Unfortunately 95% of Americans will never hear Trump’s innovative plan because the media including Fox News will suppress it.

Well…I hate being the wet blanket…but unless Trump can show that he understands how the deep state/evil minion co-opts these initiatives, I’m a big thumbs down on this one. Op Warp Speed put the clot shots in nearly every arm, mine included. “Op Quantum Leap” will probably bring us out much anticipated “15-minute city” and other technology for our own subjugation.
Of course it will be co-opted. There is actua1lly no other path for such an endeavor unless it it totally independent of gov. And in today’s day and age, think of the controlled 15-min cities the fascist left wants. (Not to mention that such is socialistic utopianism from the get and should be avoided at all costs.) While I support President Trump and will still vote for him, this is just one of those things that I can not.

Ugh. Cities need to grow organically around economic engines. Federally funded cities in the middle of nowhere. Didn’t China try that? Flying cars? The population we are importing can barely keep it on the street now. Sure sounds like a lot more tax (and counterfeit) and spend to me. No thanks. Stick to restoring American manufacturing, Mr President. And for Christ’s sake, what are we going to do about the rule of law?
I’m concerned how many here seem willing to cede free markets and capitalism for state sponsored or state-private partnership development. This sounds an awful lot like the Soviet Union’s old 5 year plans or China’s recent “build it and they will come” cities. Be careful what you wish for.

It is a great idea to come up with something to spur the economy, put people to work and proposed by someone who has built some of the most sought after hotels and golf courses in the world. It really is not that new.
In fl. 20 miles inland from the gulf , over the last 20 years they slowly turned “Lakewood Ranch” from cow pastures to a sprawling upscale community with 50,000 people with stores , and golf courses with controlled development. Parts in Bradenton and Sarasota counties.
In the 1960’s a developer by the name of Bob Smertz built the first retirement village in Lakewood , NJ. , where chicken farms used to be. Of course none of this will work in Democrat controlled cities( also known as murder capitals)
As a side note Walmart is closing there last 2 stores in Portland, OR. No explanation needed.

IMHO, a city is the last thing I want our worthless government building and controlling. Trump will be gone very soon and more government’crap’ is not needed. Wall on the southern border I hear needs work, where’s that promise? Build a wall. This is all state work not federal, federal needs to be reduced, a president, Vice President, a phone, and a pen, maybe a printer.
