PRIOR – There is likely to be much more to come out about the situation as it genuinely unfolds; however, in the interim the main thrust of the news says James O’Keefe “resigned” from Project Veritas.

Neil McCabe of One America News Network (OANN) broke the news on Twitter [SOURCE] However there are several voices saying O’Keefe was ousted by the board.
It is impossible to imagine Project Veritas without its founder, James O’Keefe.
The news today follows the announcement on February 9th that James O’Keefe was being put on leave by the Project Veritas board of directors {link}, and then another announcement on February 15th by Project Veritas claiming the board of directors had no issues with O’Keefe {link}.
According to media reporting, O’Keefe read his resignation letter to the board of directors and to the people at Project Veritas. However, there have been no statements from James O’Keefe since the initial issue surfaced over two weeks ago.

The news that O’Keefe had been sidelined in the group he founded provoked outrage on the right, with many conservative pundits tweeting that Project Veritas would be nothing without him. Project Veritas’s board and remaining executives had tried to heal the rift, insisting in a bizarre tweet last week under the organization’s name that O’Keefe was “alive and well.” Just days before the resignation, the board put out a statement insisting that its members “all love James.”
O’Keefe and the board didn’t respond to immediate requests for comment.
O’Keefe’s resignation was first announced on Twitter by Neil McCabe, a reporter at conservative cable channel One America News. McCabe told The Daily Beast that O’Keefe resigned from the group without striking a severance deal with the board.
“He just resigns and walks out the door to start a new life,” McCabe said. “Now we’ll see: does the organization he created survive?” (read more)

Mr. O’Keffe had an idea some years back regarding journalism and integrity, both in his profession and elsewhere. He went about presenting the issues of integrity (or lack thereof) using journalism as his mouthpiece. He was successful. He had followers, he needed supporters for his efforts. He found them, some even approached him to support directly. He developed a business model.
Over the years, I suspect. his original business model was modified due to his expanding efforts. This evolved into a corporate type of structure where he had a board of directors, by laws, etc. Performance goals were most likely put in place. It was a dynamic business, but still resting in journalism and integrity.
I have never met Mr. O’Keffe, nor talked with anyone, nor watched a story on how he behaved in his company, how he treated his fellow workers, etc. I do not know what kind of person he truly is, I only know those efforts he has presented.
I suspect he came to feel constrained, really constrained, perhaps he saw long knives coming for him. He decided to die outside of the boardroom, in the streets where he likes to live and communicate.
I will wait to see what he does and how he does it before making up my mind about his integrity, but I do suspect his former board of directors turned on him…one way or the other. As to why, that is a mystery yet to be told!

Jeff Childers, the Florida attorney who started the “Coffee & Covid blog, held a “force multiplier” fundraiser for Project Veritas shortly after the Pfizer story dropped. I hope that he is in contact with James and that a class-action lawsuit is in the works for everyone who donated to PV based on emails purporting to be from James O’Keefe asking for money, when the Board was already in the process of removing him! I suspect that the vast majority of donors, myself included, would not have sent a dime if we had know what was going on behind the scenes!
I was part of that multiplier and just got off the phone with my credit card company: I disputed the charge (donation) made on 1-27-23 and will be receiving a full refund in about three days. Everyone else who participated should do the same ASAP…

I said I no longer supported the charity due to management changes made subsequent to my donation. Was surprised that it was that easy, but I remembered people retroactively stopping GoFundMe donations to the Canadian truckers when GoFundMe threatened to redirect, versus refund, the donations.
I just went to the Anedot.Com website that processes donations for Project Veritas and requested my donation be refunded to me due to fraud on the part of the organization. Took less than 5 minutes and I just received a reply from them that the funds will be credited to my Visa within 2 to 3 business days. Thank you for suggesting this and I hope everyone who has donated to PV within the last month will do the same thing!

I would guess it a win for him long term and an utter loss for PV near and far.
Project Veritas is losing a lot of followers
Some thoughts on what ringleaders of the coup might intend to do with Project Veritas without O’Keefe in the way:
First PV will not fold from lack of funds. The Project Veritas coup members appear to have their hands on a big donor fund. The most recent info I can find is $20 million in 2020. A rough guess is that would cover them for 2-3 years between funding the 68 person org, active projects and all the court/legal fees.
There are two non-profits –the 501(c)(3) and the 501(c)(4). The former has very little money and seems to be the people/org side that we think of as PV. The latter seems to be the donor fund at $20 million in 2020. Hope others can jump in with more recent info.
My concern is where the board plans to steer Project Veritas post O’Keefe.
It’s a concern shared by major donors in a recent Cease and Desist demand letter to the board where the letter said the donors had obtained information that the board planned to change Project Veritas’ mission after ousting O’Keefe. The demand letter made clear that donations were made on the understanding that the mission would be as it was founded under O’Keefe. Hope they follow thru and sue for their money back.
Will Project Veritas without O’Keefe be used as a political tool during the next two years leading into the 2024 election? One can debate who would be pulling the strings and for what purpose –GOPe, Pfizer, DeSantis, Soros, etc.
What is known is that Matt Tyrmand a coup ringleader is a DeSantis operative who earlier this month essentially said he sees Project Veritas as an effective political weapon. He believes that the reason DeSantis won the governor race in 2018 was due to an expose Project Veritas released on his political opponent ahead of the election.
Will Tyrman use Project Veritas (sans O’Keefe) to go after opponents of DeSantis in the presidential primaries? Or will the GOPe or even Pfizer pull the strings of the organization now the O’Keefe is gone?
Given Tyrmand’s ringleader role in the coup, I’m suspicious we’ll see some new PV projects that benefit DeSantis. Tyrman on Feb 7 said he was certain President Trump would be out of the picture within six months.
