I took notes during the Ohio government update on the East Palestine train derailment and toxic chemical spill response. The full press briefing is below. The media present was a mix of uncurious stenographers and some inquisitive journalists.
After about 20 minutes of generally obtuse outlines intended to downplay the seriousness of the crisis, which included a game and fish commissioner saying 3,500 fish were killed by the chemical pollutants – yet never actually saying *what* about the chemicals killed the fish, suddenly the Ohio EPA official admitted something important.
WATER QUALITY – After the Ohio EPA spent several minutes saying the released chemicals are *CURRENTLY* dissipating to “non traceable levels” at various points in the downstream waterways, suddenly she admits the “initial slack” of chemicals did reach the Ohio River. [Prompted 19:34, WATCH] The “Contamination Plume” is travelling down the Ohio River at approximately 1 mph, providing the various municipal water systems the ability to disconnect from the Ohio River intake as the toxins pass by.
Top men: “we are pretty confident the low levels of toxins are not being passed on to the customers“…. So, there’s that.
AIR QUALITY – Well, the next soundbite below tells you a lot about the situation, TEN DAYS after the initial crisis…
Prompted, just hit play:

Dewhine is a sleazy, 2 faced weasel of a politician. He care not a whit about any of us. Never has.
He was a covid tyrant from the get go.
The epa, based on my few interactions with them over the years, are incompetent at every level.
Who is going to call out the democrats for saying how much safer the railroad is than pipelines?
I have been watching the winds since this happened. I feel bad for the folks downwind and downstream. I am hoping most of the plume had dissipated before the wind changes to NW.
Where has the wind been blowing? When the Fires were in the West they covered the ENTIRE USA with smoke.
The last diagram of it I saw showed it going a little southeast.
I was thinking about coming home until the virus and Dewiner went all Fascist. Now I staying in WV.
I let JD know he needs to stop getting Andromeda infusions from Peter Theil and go look at the disaster in his state. What a fraud.
Our rail situation is dangerous and most people have no clue. We live near a junction and I watch the the aging cars go by all of the time.
We are rotting in every area of civilization.
Sort of on a side note (and this was nearly a century ago anyway) but my mother lived in Dunlow, West Virginia when she was a child in the 1940s and they still talked a lot about a circus train that wrecked all the animals that escaped, and quite a few were never found. No elephants or anything, but supposedly a few big cats and some monkeys.
Afterward they lived for awhile on Ohio before they ended up in SoCal where Mom met and married my Dad.
I hear it’s beautiful in West Virginia.
We have family in Illinois, and drive through West Virginia every time we go visit them. WV truly is beautiful, even on the I-77 route. One year we drove the US routes along eastern border of WV, and the roads were fine, winding yet not stressful. I’d love to move there once I retire.
Yes, my dad was from that very area. I’ve been there more times than I can count, and have heard that same story from my dad’s relatives that were there then. All have passed on now. My dad moved to Ohio in 1952 and lived here till he died in 2010.
It is beautiful, especially SE WV.
YEP, me too. Let’s just wait and see what he does. YES, I have NO CONFIDENCE in him….
In 1973 as a young engineer I performed dispersion analyses of “air contaminants” to determine how far their impact might be on the ground. That was 50 years ago. The technology to determine ground level concentrations for literally miles from the incident is a heckuva lot better now. Similarly the same can be said about oxygen sag analyses of contaminants in water that metabolize via oxidation. This guy is a BS artist. Don’t these idiots tell us to follow the science? Duh!!!
I wish they were only bs artists.
What they are is murderers. The lockdowns, the jab, the ventilators, the balloons, and on and on and on.
They know the damage that is being done. They know how far these various chemicals can disperse.
I can pull up data sheets on the chemicals, find the reactions when they combine, check water levels AND flow rates, wind maps for the last 40? odd years, and wind predictions for the next few days sitting in my pajamas having coffee.
Sheer and utter incompetence at all levels of govt. I have spent 40 years dealing with various state dot personnel.
I can honestly say that 80% of them were boobs, lazy, job scared, bought or just plain run over in any situation that required decision making, thinking ability and/or effort on their part.
FYI: Tomorrow, the weather is supposed to be in the 60’s in OH/PA…quite unusual for this time of year. When reviewing the wind currents, they are expected to come out of the South & SE with gusts…also a bit unusual. It will be tempting to open windows to enjoy such pleasant temps. DO NOT! Please take precautions if you are North and NW of East Palestine such as Akron/Cleveland area. BUTTON UP! Be safe!
I’m in LA county, and I can’t imagine opening windows when it’s in the 60s 🥶
It’s called “Indian Summer” in places that have real weather
We call our warm fall weather in September, 80’s to 90’s during the day and cool to cold nights “Indian Summer,” here in California. The light is unusually lovely too as the foliage changes and the days get shorter.
Fall has always been my favorite time of year for just that reason. It’s a great time for watercolor painting, pastel drawing and photography.
Here we go again with the gerunds.
Correction: It’s a great time for painting watercolors, drawing pastels, and photography.
just sayin’.
Here in the Mojave we have four seasons, and we call that sweater weather. But then, we often have triple digit weather here too. I moved here 30 years ago and it took about a decade before my body adjusted. Now when I visit the coast where I grew up it always feels cold and damp to me.
Yes. I remember living in cold, Northern Nevada where it was around 30 degrees then driving to San Francisco where it was 55 degrees and freezing deep into my body! It was so cold there. Of course, it was the humidity that made it so bone chilling cold. I couldn’t wait to get back to 5 inches of snow and 30 degrees.
NOAA is saying winds from the southWEST. Not aiming at Cleveland or even Youngstown.
How long is it expected to take to dissipate, do you have any idea?

It is 8:10AM in the Canton Ohio area right now where I’m sitting. Winds are blowing 16 MPH out of the SSW blowing NNE. Meaning it should be blowing the plume over NE Penn. to Lake Ontario.
Load ALL the DC politicians into boxcars, and send them express to East Palestine, OH. Upon arrival, make them clean up their mess!
Mitch Daniels, former Governor of Indiana – also Erskine Bowles is on the board of directors of Norfolk Southern – you guys and the rest of the board, do you have anything to say about this?
This Government sends One Hundred Billion Dollars ($100,000,000,000.00) of our money to an illegitimate, corrupt, gangster regime in Ukraine.
But they treat Americans suffering right here at home, in East Palestine, Ohio, this way.
We probably don’t send Creepy Joe enough kids to molest.
County is 80% republican voters, 94% white.
County goes over 70% for Trump it’s “Bad dog, no biscuit.”
And yes, they are sufficiently evil to think like that. Remember the blockade of Monoclonal Antibodies to Florida?
Ahhh, you understand The Plan.
Chernobyl.
That horrifying meltdown of all meltdowns happened and the Soviet system for keeping secrets did not manage to keep THAT secret as the cloud of radiation drifted across borders and began setting off alarms, of all kinds.
This is like that.
Our country has been headed in the direction of a totalitarian state, with our news media not much more helpful than Pravda was.
Our news media is generally compliant and complacent, it seems – but still, there were people asking questions after the train derailment and they found themselves being arrested – will THAT wake up people in the news media?
The news media, the EPA, FEMA, government at all levels and departments failing the people of East Palestine, Ohio.
Can it be clamped down entirely if they arrest every last reporter with the guts to ask questions?
Or will it be like Chernobyl, something they can’t silence, darken, edit, cancel.
As the cloud moves over the land, more people awaken to the disaster not only of the derailment itself and the subsequent burning of the chemicals, but the disaster of our government at all levels, with governance at every level failing us.
When it comes tot he media, you forgot one word, besides Compliant and Complacent, you forgot ‘Complicit’
Our government officials who are supposed to be technical experts in their fields are not that anymore. They are bureaucrats and paper pushers with no knowledge of the matters they are supposed to regulate and husband. They are into petty regulations and nonsensical policies with no concern for public health or protecting the environment.
Someone here is protecting the RR’s and likely Warren Buffet who may have paid them off to shut down any examination of the matter. The corporations really do own our government.
Yep. Reminds me of Obama and the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
And let’s not forget that idiot head of the EPA of his who ordered that containment area inside of the King Mine broken open and all of that toxic sludge released into the Animas River. Turned it the color of puke for many days, and that water had to go somewhere. Who knows how many people and animals were sickened because of it. To my knowledge she never faced any consequences, or even got asked why she made such a bone headed move. Guess that’s left wing privelege.
not experts but DEI hires.
I prefer to use DIE. That’s what people were initially using until the lefty twits decided that was to descriptive of the real effects of their idiotic policy initiative.
I’m thinking this plume would easy reach NYC and probably already has, imagine the liberal heads when they figure that out.
Well, NYC is filled with illegals, so maybe the silver lining is that it won’t be Americans? No? Dang it.
The Chernobyl disaster[a] was a nuclear accident that occurred on 26 April 1986 at the No. 4 reactor in the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, near the city of Pripyat in the north of the Ukrainian SSR in the Soviet Union.
The Soviet Union,[n] officially the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics[o] (USSR),[p] was a transcontinental country that spanned much of Eurasia from 1922 to 1991.
You must be young. The Chernobyl disaster occurred in 1986. The USSR existed until 1991. So yes, Chernobyl was under the control of the SOVIETS.
You missed the point. Ukraine (it was called Ukraine Soviet Socialist Republic) of the was part of the USSR (aka, the Soviets. The Russian Federation of the Soviet Socialist Republic) in 1986 when the Chernobyl disaster happened. So it was the SOVIETS who handled the situation by mismanagement, media blackout, pointing the finger at the other guy, and telling everyone that everything is fine. Chernobyl IS IN Ukraine territory but it was the SOVIETS who ran the government. The USSR was dismantled in 1991. That freed up Ukraine to be its own separate country. That is also why there is a large population of Russians living in Ukraine.
Thanks for the map, though.
I would not drink that water, folks. Maybe ever. NEVER believe anything the Govt – federal, state or local – tells you. Never seen a mushroom cloud like that short of a nuke.
There have been several chemical spills in WV in the last decade where my family lives. With the last one, tankers were brought in for a while to give people water, not to mention bottled water. My dad still buys bottled water to cook and drink, but they bathe and wash laundry in their city water. Most people don’t have the resources to relocate or evacuate and pay for a second residence.
When the government does the spilling, then suddenly it’s perfectly okay and won’t hurt people or the environment at all. Anyway, that’s how it was in 2015 when the EPA turned a river orange with heavy metals in the Southwest. https://www.cnn.com/2015/08/10/us/epa-river-spill-residents/index.html
I was out there and saw the orange water before it was announced. I asked a local about it and he just said the Feds sis it
Most regular faucet tap water is not clean no matter where you are…. has been known to make people sick, have migraines, etc. Bottled water usually undergoes more strenuous standards.
Normally when you have a spill at gas station, or something similar all the dirt has to be cleaned out. Even then the contamination will last for maybe 30-50 years or longer. This toxic plume has likely covered / blanketed 1/4 if not more of the USA.
Interesting you mention that. I used to live behind a place that was once a gas station, but hadn’t been for at least 25 years. Yet they kept sending out the SCAQMD goons to poke around with meters and gadgets and they ended up installing a permanent contraption to pull fumes out of the ground. That was 20 years ago, and for all I know it’s probably still there. Once you’re on their radar they’ll hound you forever.
Born in Pittsburgh in 1947, I well remember the heavy metal toxins on the bottom of the Monongahela – which until about 1960 was in effect the effluent pond for steel mills in the Mon Valley. The contamination levels made East Palestine look tiny by comparison. And they were added to daily by J&L, USS, and the other mills.
After steel was run out of the US and told to pollute China instead, various public and private agencies worked together, along with passing time, to clear those waters. The lower Mon is now a fine rereational river, host to kayakers and fishermen.
In other words, stopping pollution and then allowing the river to flow for (as much as) decades will heal the damage. There really is no other way.
It took the good Lord millennia to create our beautiful, clean-flowing rivers. It takes man but one brief day to trash them for a half-century.
Couldnt they just reccomend wearing surgical droplet masks and everyone would be fine?
Tucker interview with residents.
I don’t think these folks understand the cancer risk AT ALL.
Someone needs to be giving them real information about the long term risks from the exposure. If you are getting a chemical burn on your face and your dog is vomiting, leave ASAP.
A lot of the residents more than likely don’t have the money to leave. This is not an affluent town.
http://eastpalestine-oh.gov/statistics/
Especially since preezy potato head came into office.
Ifyour dog is vomiting’s- well, your dog is done for, make sure they die peacefully and without pain. Watch them. It will happen.
If you have chemical burns on your face- that means you ingested and inhaled it as well. Get a baseline examination and have it completely documented- your current health status. You will have negative health effects, the only thing you don’t know is when and how bad. Only time will tell.
That’s the truth and that is how nasty CV is as a chemical. It creates phosgene gas- the same gas used in WW1 and by the Nazis at times.
Bowtie Douchebag looks like he prepared and is serving Gangrenous Siluriformes au Poivre for supper.
As I understand the events of this incident, a train derailed and several tank cars were on fire. Due to dangerous chemicals in other non-burning tank cars, the “authorities” decided to blow them up to prevent the fire from blowing them up. A toxic cloud ensued and environmental damage.
Question: Why not try to utilize an air tanker like they use to put out forest fires? Dump tons of fire retardent onto the burning tank cars and it might extinguish the entire blaze or at least made it easier to control and then put out.
Secretary Pete or someone should have these assets deployed in the several states and ready to use in a few hours notice.
A much better use of Pete’s time than worrying about racist bridges built in the 1930s or why ther might be too many people of the wrong color skin at a consruction site. JMHO
Because they wanted the tracks reopened asap.
Exactly. Their decision was the fastest decision to get the tracks going again.
could I please see the C&E matrix that they used to help them in their decision making?
Or why not do what they usually do, bring in empty tank cars and transfer the chemicals into them. This can be done even if the tank cars are breached.
Cuz, that takes time and effort. Digging a trench, puncturing the car to drain in the ditch and lighting on fire, via controlled explosion is fast and poof, the problem goes up in smoke.
Expecting bureaucrats to use common sense never ends well.
C’mon, Ted. You make entirely too much sense. Stop thinking so hard … you’ll get a headache. Just vote to keep the Dems in office and all will be well.
Another one . . . ! 🙁

#BREAKING: Shelter in place has a been issued due hazardous toxic chemicals leaking
#Tucson | #Arizona
Currently authorities have issued a hazmat alert and a ‘shelter in place’ warning is in effect for all individuals within a mile radius in Tucson Arizona, after a truck carrying hazardous materials overturns on the I-10 highway in Tucson, Arizona.
Hey Mike in a Truck, if you see this, you got any recommendations on what gas mask brand is best?
Cause now we got two (I don’t think the TX event measured up to expectations) –
Where’s the third?
And Kennedy says be sure to lock your doors? WTH?
Read elsewhere that it’s acid … can’t recall whether hydrochloric or sulfuric
Hydrochloric acid.
Apparently it’s nitric acid — very strong and very dangerous (although HCl and H2SO4 would also be bad news!), take it from a career chemist!
Sorry, maybe I’m thinking of the wrong toxic cloud! I was referring to the AZ truck accident! Looks like OH had multiple haz mats!
Let’s clarify for readers because sadly there are multiple events:
The chemical from the photo above in Tucson- Nitric Acid.
The acid created when the burning CV gets into the air and combines with water molecules: Hydrochloric Acid. Just one of the “stuffs” in Ohio/PA as a result of the burn.
Folks who cruised slowly by best wash their cars, pronto. Or visit Earl Scheib next month.
Hmmm…is this how they are going to get people to “mail in their ballots” come next election? I am deeply suspicious of everybody and everything these days. No trust in anything.
lets see: observers on the ground very near the accident, allowing drivers to drive thru plume, on the other side drivers drive past it. Could it explode? catch fire?
Funny, traffic stops for miles for a simple accident, but chemicals — let them keep driving.
Do we know who gave the order to ignite the payload? Are these rail issues, acts of sabotage?
I believe the gov of Ohio and PA chatted together, along with unnamed gov agencies and decided to burn the chemicals
Heard that on a podcast today
The Incident Commander approved of and gave the go. People have a misconception that the Incident Commander is a know all about everything they are doing- they are not. They are experts at incident response and command and control. They may or may not have an expertise that aligns with an event they are commanding.
Most IC’s rely on technical experts either provided by government or private companies (usually the companies involved in the event- they have the experts). If ran correctly, the IC coordinated with “approved” entities to make the decision to use a burn off- the fastest method not the safest or best method.
This is why understanding who Norfolk Rail is owned by is important (you know contributions and all)…but more importantly, which customer of the railroad the chemicals belonged to (because contributions and all)…because both the rail line and the chemical company would respond with their experts along side government.
Tiff not saying the order didn’t get passed to the Governors, it did, they are top of the COC in incident response. I just wanted to outline in basic terms incident response.
I said above— did they do a C&E matrix? consider all options, and “customer” needs, rank each and total up the points. Gives you an OBJECTIVE way to make a decision and also documents it.
It’s a very good question. Susan, my guess, one was not used. Or if it was, it was disregarded. Or maybe they didn’t have one at all.
For those who don’t know what Susan is talking about, here’s a brief explanation of C and E matrixes:
https://support.minitab.com/en-us/engage/help-and-how-to/tools/forms-and-analysis-captures/forms-and-form-based-tools/c-e-matrix/
and that is how so many decisions are made. — just get together and jawbone it and the loudest most persistent wins — not the best. and all the others just wash their hands of it.
Gov. Shapiro. God save us!!!
It could be the clean up crew. Follow the money.
Can the governor be recalled? Who is at fault? The railroad for the accident? The EPA for burning the toxins? This is gonna take 20 years of court filings to ever get to a settlement.
Get Erin Brokawich on the case.
I live not very far from where all of that went down. Literally nothing changed and that area still has polluted ground water.
I have never seen such a collection of useless, clueless, devoid-of-any-skill-sets, worthless imposters – posing as government officials – in my entire life. And I’m not just talking about the talking heads who stepped all over their tongues in this worthless briefing.
Our friends in East Palestine live on a farm they own in the hills outside of the village. Their kids are grown and married. The Mrs. breeds beautiful, healthy, strong, and intelligent sporting dogs. I have one of their dogs – a magnificent English Springer Spaniel who is of “field bred” heritage; not bench competition lines. My girl’s mama is no longer being bred. She’s been living the good life on the farm with the other dogs and a plethora of farm animals.
I was worried before the empty suits spoke today. Now I am furious, and the worry has deepened exponentially.
Praying for your precious friends! 🙏🏼
My heart and stomach is so sick over this completely avoidable, heartbreaking nightmare. Please pray for all affected by this horrendous tragedy.
Association of American Railroads, a industry lobby group, pressured DOT to reduce train crew size from five in 1990s to now one on most routes and two crew on long or dangerous routes. Norfolk Southern tanker car had flaming axel bearing for twenty miles.
EPA, another corrupt, captured agency > https://bitchute.com/video/F24bKYYlTZGj/
It was pretty chinzy when the railroads got rid of the caboose and conductor / brakeman who rode in it. I have wondered why, in the era of distributed power, they couldn’t put the head end conductor into a trailing locomotive who could know what is going on with the train. Surely in this case another set of eyes would have seen the sparks or smelled the grease and stopped the train as soon as the issue arose, not 20 miles later……
It went past 2 heat sensors 20 miles apart while on fire. We’ll never know anything about this because we don’t have a news media.
Not to mention, sometimes they have both one engine in the back and one in the front.
there are sensors along the routes looking for “hot boxes” — burning lubricant in the wheel bearings.
Not to mention that part of the complaints the rail union had was long hours. They wanted to have the same restrictions flight crews have and truckers. Magically FJB stepped in and adverted the strike. The rail workers didn’t get the restrictions. Curious cat…
It seems like if they can shaft a cop who had to shoot someone in the line of duty and send them to prison they should at least do the same to these railroad bigwigs.
This governor and response re the toxic cloud is beyond credulity! Is he stupid? Doesn’t care? Or bought out by Norfolk Southern?
Follow the science! Yes, phosgene and hydrochloride acid! Get the hell out of there!
I noticed that the DeWhine China virus tyrant Governor is wearing his WEF purple tie.
I thought he was wearing purple eyeglasses and I thought about purple ties, wondering if purple eyeglasses are a “thing” now.
I had a pair once. Now I have red ones. Never saw purple glasses on an old man though.
WHY – the little man – Wears PURPLE -> he IS OWNED

I love how Tucker suggested the people in Ohio have Dewine move into Palestine if it is so safe! Somehow Dewine easily won his primary here in Ohio, even after turning into a tyrant during Covid.
I believe the JoBama regime will stop at nothing, including creating a disaster that distracts from the real issue of the regime waging war on Russia with the Nordstream 2 bombing. These are people are beyond evil making the nazis look like choir boys. May God have mercy on us all!
🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🙏 🙏
Amen.
Who is the idiot that authorized the rail cars be blown up??????
I heard it was the Governor who gave the order, on WarRoom today.
From TV news coverage, I think I heard that they didn’t so much “blow up rail cars” as seek to prevent a rail car from blowing up in a confined to misting explosion that would have been much greater.
The main thing that they did dealt with the most toxic chemical there, probably the vinyl chlorid
They dug a long trench along the tracks and drained the tanker car (cars?) into the trench
Then they ignited it
They still got a big “whoomp” (ever let your gas grille go too long before you got the igniter spark button to take? how were your eyebrows?) and that mushroom cloud
But I think far less whoomp that if the intact tanker confining the chemical had blown up – it would have been a bigger explosion and also would have blown metal shrapnel all over town, possibly out to 1/2 mile away
I haven’t read in detail, but that’s what I surmised from listening, and there WAS footage of the burning trench after the initial ignition
Understand the trench to release pressure–but why deliberately ignite it? Burning Vinyl Chloride makes highly toxic phosgene gas–which was used in WWI and killed 85,000 people! Couldn’t the vinyl chloride be smothered without igniting it? Phenol stabilizes it. Spraying with water is one way of neutralizing phosgene, but NO attempt to neutralize it calls for setting fire to vinyl chloride because it CREATES phosgene. Did these clowns consult with an expert to see what they SHOULD have done, instead of what they did–which made it worse?
I agree with this, but then again, I worked for the shipping agency that represented the New Carissa calling on Coos Bay, Oregon when it ran aground. They decided to drop napalm on it to burn the bunker fuel off. All thoughts of chemistry, melting points, etc were ignored. It seemed like a good idea at the time until you realized that the napalm explosion inside of a ships hull could never reach a high enough temperature to incinerate all the bunker fuel….. The ship ended up splitting in half. one part towed back out to see only to return a few days later. It was the ship that would not go away and I would like to say it was good times, but being stuck in Coos Bay for three months was not in my game plan in my early 20’s. The stories I could tell….
The government agencies involved. It was amazing and in retrospect, quite comical and sad for the snowy plover. Greta cried that day and she was not yet born……Yeah, it was that bad. LOL
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Carissa
I wonder how many of the involved “government experts” previously dynamited the dead whale just up the coast from there?
But he was adamant that he was upset about the reporter, Evan Lambert, who was arrested – he wanted everyone to know that he did not approve that move.
The Gov only approves what the IC sends up. I posted above how this works during incident response. The Gov is the go/no go but they rely on the protective actions recommended by the “experts” at the scene. DeWine is a tool yes, but to say this was his decisions is not complete.
I hope that fool loses the next election.
He was just re elected in November.
Check the date… 🤨
Oh boy
Not anymore it isn’t. Nice move, Gov.
Why was my comment and question I posted a few minutes ago removed?
I asked about why an air tanker aircraft like they use to put out forest fires could not be utilized to dump tons of fire retardent on the burning tank rail cars and thus possibly prevent having to purposely blow up the rail cars with toxns in them???
I also commented that Secretary Pete-who did make comments about racist bridges built in the 1930s, and more recently when asked about the train fire, diverted to why there are not more PoC at construction sites.
Why is this comment offensive?
Hi Ted….I’m guessing that your initial comment was removed because it contained a form of the word “retard”. We had to put a hold on the word because several commenters were overusing the word, and several others found it highly offensive. I’ve decided to remove the hold on the word, because there’s just too much room for honest error.
As far as dumping flame retardant from an airplane, I would imagine the pilot would be in great danger should an explosion occur. A burning forest fire is much, much different than explosive chemicals.
DeWine must ReSign. They are poisoning a Republican stronghold in Ohio. Evil is rampant.
Y’all calm down. This is not Chernobyl. Not even Fukushima. There isn’t enough evidence to support the apocalyptic scenarios some of you seem to be hoping for. Running around the Innertubes screeching like Chicken Little isn’t helpful.
Criminy – I have a close relative planning a visit to friends in Shaker Heights next weekend, and as of Tuesday she was actually believing that this is a nuclear explosion. From reading tabloids. I had to spend a solid hour talking her down off the ledge. Not to mention the two hours I spent trying to filter the facts out of the hype.
Yes, it’s a mess. No, it’s not proof or even evidence that the Biden/Buttplug team arranged it in secret meetings in a Secure Facility Bunker under the White House. So knock it off.
Chad: Thanks being rational.
Animals ARE dying TWO MILES from the derailment. People ARE having symptoms of phosgene poisoning AFTER the government said it was safe to go back to their homes–but they never mentioned whether their tap water is safe to drink, nor whether they even bothered to test it.
So yes, WE will “knock it off.” Why don’t you go to East Palestine to help out, since you claim it is safe to be there? Or don’t you believe your own BS?
You type like a liberal based out of DC.
That’s what I was thinking. And he just sounds very condescending.
Actually I’m a neanderthal conservative retired engineer, living in Ohio about 50 miles from where this is all happening.
So “Chad”….where do y’all live? Anywhere in Ohio or PA? Just asking y’all!
They aren’t going to tell anyone the truth, about this or anything else. We basically live in the soviet union circa 1975 now.
This is insane- toxic gasses, fire, into the ground, air and water supply of a small city and blowing throught the State and further- Where is Transportation Sec Mayor Pete ? oh, right! he same place he was when airlines didn’t take off anywhere in the US for 24 hours and when cargo ships were backed up for weeks unable to unload their cargo! He’s busy worrying about too many white men in construction and the equity of roads….animals are dying, people will be next- BIden Administration acting like it didn’t happen, local administration telling people to go back to their homes- what a shit show!
He’s busy working out how to run for President in 2024.
Nothing Dewine says is true!!!
Who ordered the fire?
DeWine is exactly the type of RINO you don’t want in charge when trouble happens…
I would tell these poor folks in Ohio to come to the Capitol and protest, but they’d just wind up in prison.
On Tucker tonight I saw videos that I had not seen. There was large amounts of coal spilled from coal cars. Coal burning puts out thick black smoke so that could have made it look worse. Also some people have done research on the chemicals spilled and polyvinyl chloride is better if it is burned rather than let it evaporate. Since we are not getting any info from anyone, it invites all kinds of opinions and speculation.
You moving there?
Funny, l read lt’s better to let lt evaporate than to burn lt.
The earth will always rejuvenate and heal. It will abide. The Book of Genesis and Ecclesiastes describes creation so beautifully. I can only say, that what God has intended for the earth, will come to pass and not be destroyed.
Genesis 1:1-2 states, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters .”
“The earth will always rejuvenate and heal.”
Interesting point and obviously true; when Saddam opened the oil taps and flooded the Persian Gulf with oil, no real effort was made to clean it up and six months later there was virtually no evidence that there had been an oil spill thanks to the effects of salt water and oil eating bacteria. Same in the 2010 spill in the Gulf of Mexico, the anticipated oil slicks never appeared because the salt water and bacteria did what salt water and bacteria do.
Up here in Canada there used to be a wonderful noon hour current events TV program on (of all places, CBC), Midday, and on the topic of oil spills, the geologist guest said that the Exxon Valdez spill was much less well cleaned up in comparison to the Persian Gulf because of , ironically, the clean up efforts. The hot water that was sprayed all over the rocks and shore killed the bacteria that would have eventually eaten it up, though it might have been a bit slower process due to the cold water of Alaska vs the warm Persian Gulf.
The difference in this case is that oil is a naturally occurring substance; vinyl chloride…..not so much. I guess gamma radiation is also a naturally occurring substance, so the earth will eventually heal Chernobyl…which is at present 40 years ahead in healing than is the train derailment, which will likely take at least that long.
God thought of everything when He created! He put the oil under the ocean and prepared in advance for any spills or leaks.
He gave us natural immunity for whenever we get a virus, our body creates antibodies against it so that we can’t get it again. He even made it so that viruses cannot be passed from animals to humans or humans to animals.
BUT MAN comes in and tries to play God and ruin all of His goodness!
There will be a new Heaven and a new earth, but that’s not until Jesus returns and banishes the devil for eternity.
Yes, but in the mean time, all of creation has the ability to repair injuries. The trees grow again after a fire and the oil spills are indeed eaten by bacteria in the ocean. So many things we take for granted.
A new heaven and earth does not necessarily mean our earth will be destroyed, but that the things corrupting it will be destroyed.
God did not make our bodies to last a few short years or the earth to be a holding place, imo. He created earth as a paradise for mankind, that was the plan, and we blew it by listening to Satan.
“Federal investigators believe the derailment was caused by a mechanical problem with a car axle.”
https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/watch-live-ohio-gov-press-conference-train-derailment
Well, no shyt, Sherlock. We need a “federal investigator” to tell us this?
Anyone who’s ever seen a railroad and watched the security cam videos online, saw the flaming hotbox on the hopper car … and knew that when all the lube burned off, the bearings would eventurally seize, the wheels would stop turning, and the car would come off the tracks, bringing the following ones with it.
Greg Guttfeld speculated that the Biden administration’s lax response could be because the area may not have a sizable population of Democrats in it. The implication being, fewer Trump voters is never a bad thing.
I hope all those chemical engineers in the Mississippi corridor of Louisiana can hold them to task.
East Palestine. Message sent. Message received.
Bowtie White Coat sounds like he’s speaking to children. His meter, words, sing-sing rythym, pauses, all of it sounds like a 6th-7th grade teacher. These officials truly do think we’re all idiots and children and they’re the smart adults in charge. Same mindset that turned an ordinary flu into a pandemic. And this is me being generous by not questioning true intentions and motives.
That, Fox, is just millennial-speak. I take it you’ve not heard today’s college girls uptalk their way through life.
Where I live the authorities in charge have taken to posting in the newspaper how the water supply has exceeded the maximum allowable contaminants. Of course by the time you’ve read the, “at this time you need to take no action” the crisis is over. or 14 years we’ve drank and cooked with bottled water. It cost but it’s better than suffering from organ failure or other neurologic disorders., cancer.
I firmly believe the authorities do not care about the water purity in this country and that it is very toxic yet no one really talks about it. One day soon terrorists will poison the supply and this will only hasten the deth of what our water is doing to us already.
I used to get those notices with my water bill in Okla. “the test indicate that the water exceeds the MCL (Maximum Contaminant Level) for X in drinking water. We are working to remediate” Month after month. I wrote them a letter and asked WHAT they were doing and WHEN it would change. NO ANSWER.
And they have the nerve to whine about gas powered cars and stoves. SMH.
Beam me up, Jesus.
But hey, at least the State Health Guy…you can see him in the back is wearing his neatly pressed lab coat, with his name on the left side, and OHIO health department on the right. Complete with bow tie, to make him appear smarter. At least he’s looking the part.
DeWine- just another elite who is failing at his job.
It is a a psy-op.
BEAKER
Just disgraceful. And this son of a bitch was elected as a Republican.
After watching how Mike DeWine handled the Covid madness ,and now this, I have no confidence in that clown. I’m waiting to see him break down and start bawling! I’m glad I didn’t vote for him. Today, and for a long time , it’s gonna be bottle water ! If you’re anywhere in Ohio, it’s time to think really hard
the MD with the bowtie — what an idiot. make him live there. He KNOWS NOTHING. not all VOCs are created equal. if this contaminated surface water that is one thing, but if it is in the ground water — whoa nellie. Yes, check the well. That gives you a POINT IN TIME. what about tomorrow? water flows moron.
MDs are not scientists. they are technicians. Most know very little about chemistry.
Susan D Harms – YOU NAILED the MD Part.
” MDs are not scientists. they are technicians. Most know very little about chemistry. ”
Growing up in SW Michigan, my Folks BELIEVED in Osteopathic Doctors INSTEAD OF ” Pill POPPERS ” ; the doctors in the military were MOSTLY MDs…
IT IS VERY RARE to FIND a Doctor that KNOWS MORE Than WHAT THE PHARMA REP Tells Them. ( my EXPERIENCE )
The salt of the earth peasants in East Palestine are in a tough place because of (lack of) resources allowing them to bugout from their own homes for an extended period of time. This should cause folks a bit of reflection on how/if they could unass their home and get upwind of things for a week or two, or more. Especially critical for seniors in a situation where one spouse may be caregiver for the other, but neither is very robust compared to young or middle-aged folks.
I wish someone would ask, “do any of these chemcals or the combustion products form an azeotrope with water? Can you define azeotrope for us?”
Ha, I had to look up azeotrope. Not a chemist. Engineer yes, chemist no. But good question. And great point above regarding groundwater. Ohio should bring in experts from Nebraska. Nebraska sits on the biggest drinking water aquifer in the U.S. I believe it covers sever states and Nebraska sits right in the middle.
The state is very active in monitoring groundwater, groundwater wells, and groundwater piezometers.
Do any Treepers know what the aquifer situation looks like under Ohio and PA in that region? Typically the Appalachian region has many smaller aquifers due to the mountainous terrain. I don’t know how far west that extends from eastern PA into western PA and Ohio, Kentucky, WV, etc.
If my dad were alive he’d answer that in a second..Oh do I miss him!!!
what is Dewine eating and why is he eating during this news conference?
Because he’s rude and ignorant.
This whole “news” conference is horse manure. The first symptom you see in your animal is sudden death.
14 takeaways from incident

“MASSIVE COVERUP OF TRAIN DERAILMENT IN OHIO WITH REPORTERS BEING ARRESTED”
https://www.brighteon.com/451e6926-c62e-4390-8ee3-9d9cf7e314dd
And WHAT are we to believe? I live in Ohio, about an hour and a half’s drive from E. Palestine. I know not ONE PERSON that has taken or seen any pictures of “Mass”Fish kills here. The only thing of that sort that most have seen are a few dead fish here and there, but NOT in groups. And if anybody thinks our FREAKING WORTHLESS RINO Governor is going to tell the truth on anything here, you’re on drugs. He was as bad as ANY DemocRAT over the COVID Nonsense. There is a lot more to this than we’re being told, and it almost ALL is being ignored.
Good, serious People are always being suppressed in favor of Village Idiots like career politicians. As a volunteer 1st responder I can tell you(as your instincts confirm) the response to this is completely off.
The “standard” ‘rule of thumb’ I learned as a first responder, for any Haz-mat scene; extend your arm straight out, and your thumb straight up. Close one eye. IF you can see any part of the Haz-mat scene, around your thumb,…YOU’RE TOO CLOSE!
It IS possible that setting up that “controlled burn” was the “lesser of two evils” correct decision; i.e. that an UNcontrolled explosion and fire, would have potentially caused MORE damage and worse spread of the toxic chemicals,..
But the info that this decision was apperently made by the railroads, without consultation with State or Fed regulators, makes it very suspect.
In short, litetally and figuratively this whole thing stinks to high heaven.
Railroads make money moving trains by clearing tracks immediately.
We have an incentive compatibility problem.
Yes, protect yourself and screw everyone else. Not that I blame first responders, their family needs them too.
Wow, the Governer is a complete idiot.
DeWine, you may recall, spent 2021 and 2022 urging Ohioans to take the deadly covid vaxx. He had the “Vax-A-Million” sweepstakes, wherein Ohioans who got vaxxed could win big cash prizes.
I have been perplexed at why would normal, non brain dead Ohioans vote for this idiot midget again. Elections have consequences, and this utterly corrupt response by this incompetent buffoon is but one more election detriment to Ohio citizens.
Who won? We never hear that!
No one who received the poison jab won anything.
He is not alone in that when it comes to politicians.
Appropriate that the state seal has what looks like a mushroom cloud over DeWine’s right shoulder.
