Said it looks like the decision was made to “blow up” the chemical spill by Suffolk Railway, because they were more interested in getting the line reopened than in protecting the workers or the community. Apparently, even the EPA had no idea of exactly what chemicals were in those cars and it sounds like they were not involved in the decision to light them all on fire!

I saw those comments and meant to respond to the poster earlier…will have to go back and see if I can find them so that I can ask a couple of questions.
My husband spent over 30 years as a firefighter so I have great respect for the profession and for those who sign up to do a hard job that most people do not fully understand…HOWEVER, on any given day, there may be people in the position of Incident Commander who might not have the training or the expertise for that position! I know over the years there were various Battalion Chiefs, Captains, Lieutenants, etc. that my husband (and others) took great care to avoid working for whenever possible. There were a few major incidents that were handled VERY badly, to say the least, but the incompetence of the IC was usually glossed over, especially if they were only in that position because they “checked a box” or “knew someone”.
I have to wonder if the railway put pressure on an inexperienced Commander to authorize an action they did not fully understand? I did see an interview earlier that implied the EPA was not even aware of several of the chemicals that were being transported until AFTER the actions had been taken to set the whole thing ablaze! Did the IC have all the necessary information or were facts omitted by a RR exec who wanted the lines re-opened ASAP and the First Responders, rail workers, and surrounding communities be damned? We need FULL answers to ALL of those questions, among MANY others, IMHO!

If they had to breech the rail tankers to start the fire to burn off the chemicals, why not pump it out into a road tanker and haul it off or just store it safely away ? There are all sorts of possibilities and interesting minds might like to know what not to do the next time this happens.
While it’d require a heck of a big crane, or two, I would much rather have seen intact vessels moved off the rail bed.

It’s used to get a population used to an idea so they are not alarmed and are more accepting of it when it happens.
People then accept it as an inevitable progression and are not alarmed to resist or fight back.

Clips from a 2019 episode of “Project Runway” have been making the rounds on Twitter and TikTok after fans noticed that the show has a wild connection to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Season 17 of the fashion design show, which aired in 2019, included a designer named Kovid Kapoor. One of the challenges during the season was called “Head To Toe,” which called for contestants to create a printed design that was featured, well, head to toe.
Kapoor’s design for the challenge eerily evokes a look that would become all too common just a year later. In a red plaid design, Kapoor created a suit with an accompanying face mask.

I just went to Ancestry.com to see what the last name Kapoor may mean. Well it’s of Indian origin meaning camphor.
Then I went to Dictionary.com and looked up the word camphor.

definition #2 that was listed is the following-any substance having medicinal or aromatic characteristics similar to those of camphor

Camphor was used in masks worn by Plague Doctors.

Shortly thereafter, I checked online to see if the Flint city council meeting was online, and it was. It was something like a zombie movie.
They were all black, no Roberts Rules of Order, one man was obviously drunk or on drugs, milling about, no coherent discussion. Eating, laughing, no resolution.
Unreal. Just like the $13 BILLION that Elijah Cummings gave to Baltimore…Nobody knows how it was spent.
This is the gov’t our Framers feared. And they want MORE MONEY, to waste and spend, and weaponize the IRS to get it.
It looked to me on the video I saw of the train prior to the wreck as if there was a hot box that was not detected, which ultimately weakened the axle. No one seems to be interested in this as the cause, but trains now have detectors for hot boxes. So why was it not detected? Very odd, I think.
We are governed by idiots employing idiots. Think about that.
