Most people are unaware that outside lobbyist groups hold the power over the internal dynamic. In addition to internal financial systems, each congressperson is aligned with a lobbyist group that pays for their political election efforts, sort of like a corporate sponsor in a professional sports team. Ultimately the sponsors determine what issues the politician supports. This is the business end of DC politics.
According to Politico, the Congressional Leadership Fund (team McCarthy) has come to an agreement with the Club for Growth Fund (team not McCarthy) and worked out a deal the representatives may be permitted to support. The deal “includes a vote on term limits for members, more seats for Freedom Caucus members on the powerful House Rules Committee and allowing a single member to force a vote on ousting the speaker.” The voting continues today.

Most people think when they vote for a federal politician -a House or Senate representative- they are voting for a person who will go to Washington DC and write or enact legislation. This is the old-fashioned “schoolhouse rock” perspective based on decades past. There is not a single person in congress writing legislation or laws.
In modern politics not a single member of the House of Representatives or Senator writes a law, or puts pen to paper to write out a legislative construct.
This simply doesn’t happen.
Over the past several decades a system of constructing legislation has taken over Washington DC that more resembles a business operation than a legislative body. Here’s how it works right now.
Outside groups, often called “special interest groups”, are entities that represent their interests in legislative constructs. These groups are often representing foreign governments, Wall Street multinational corporations, banks, financial groups or businesses; or smaller groups of people with a similar connection who come together and form a larger group under an umbrella of interest specific to their affiliation.
Sometimes the groups are social interest groups, activists, climate groups, environmental interests etc. The social interest groups are usually non-profit constructs who depend on the expenditures of government to sustain their cause or need.
The for-profit groups (mostly business) have a purpose in Washington DC to shape policy, legislation and laws favorable to their interests. They have fully staffed offices just like any business would – only their ‘business‘ is getting legislation for their unique interests.
These groups are filled with highly paid lawyers who represent the interests of the entity and actually write laws and legislation briefs.
In the modern era this is actually the origination of the laws that we eventually see passed by congress. Within the walls of these buildings within Washington DC is where the ‘sausage’ is actually made.
Again, no elected official is usually part of this law origination process.
Almost all legislation created is not ‘high profile’, they are obscure changes to current laws, regulations or policies that no-one pays attention to. The passage of the general bills within legislation is not covered in media. Ninety-nine percent of legislative activity happens without anyone outside the system even paying any attention to it.
Once the corporation or representative organizational entity has written the law they want to see passed – they hand it off to the lobbyists.
The lobbyists are people who have deep contacts within the political bodies of the legislative branch, usually former House/Senate staff or former House/Senate politicians themselves.
The lobbyist takes the written brief, the legislative construct, and it’s their job to go to congress and sell it.
“Selling it” means finding politicians who will accept the brief, sponsor their bill and eventually get it to a vote and passage. The lobbyist does this by visiting the politician in their office, or, most currently familiar, by inviting the politician to an event they are hosting. The event is called a junket when it involves travel.
Often the lobbying “event” might be a weekend trip to a ski resort, or a “conference” that takes place at a resort. The actual sales pitch for the bill is usually not too long and the majority of the time is just like a mini vacation etc.
The size of the indulgence within the event, the amount of money the lobbyist is spending, is customarily related to the scale of benefit within the bill the sponsoring business entity is pushing. If the sponsoring business or interest group can gain a lot of financial benefit from the legislation, they spend a lot on the indulgences.
Recap: Corporations (special interest group) write the legislation. Lobbyists take the law and go find politician(s) to support it. Politicians get support from their peers using tenure and status etc. Eventually, if things go according to norm, the legislation gets a vote.
Within every step of the process there are expense account lunches, dinners, trips, venue tickets and a host of other customary financial waypoints to generate/leverage a successful outcome. The amount of money spent is proportional to the benefit derived from the outcome.
The important part to remember is that the origination of the entire process is EXTERNAL to congress.
Congress does not write laws or legislation; special interest groups do. Lobbyists are paid, some very well paid, to get politicians to go along with the need of the legislative group.
When you are voting for a Congressional Rep or a U.S. Senator you are not voting for a person who will write laws. Your rep only votes on legislation to approve or disapprove of constructs that are written by outside groups and sold to them through lobbyists who work for those outside groups.
While all of this is happening the same outside groups who write the laws are providing money for the campaigns of the politicians, they need to pass them. This construct sets up the quid-pro-quo of influence, although much of it is fraught with plausible deniability.
This is the way legislation is created.
If your frame of reference is not established in this basic understanding you can often fall into the trap of viewing a politician, or political vote, through a false prism. The modern origin of all legislative constructs is not within congress.
“we’ll have to pass the bill to, well, find out what is in the bill” etc. ~ Nancy Pelosi 2009
“We rely upon the stupidity of the American voter” ~ Johnathan Gruber 2011, 2012.
Once you understand this process you can understand how politicians get rich.
When a House or Senate member becomes educated on the intent of the legislation, they have attended the sales pitch; and when they find out the likelihood of support for that legislation; they can then position their own (or their families) financial interests to benefit from the consequence of passage. It is a process similar to insider trading on Wall Street, except the trading is based on knowing who will benefit from a legislative passage.
The legislative construct passes from K-Street into the halls of congress through congressional committees. The law originates from the committee to the full House or Senate. Committee seats which vote on these bills are therefore more valuable to the lobbyists. Chairs of these committees are exponentially more valuable.
No legislation provided by outside interests means no work for lobbyists who sell it. No work means no money. No money means no expense accounts. No expenses mean politicians paying for their own indulgences etc.
In the aftermath of President Trump winning the 2016 election, politicians on both sides were not happy – but the issue was actually bigger. No K-Street expenditures also means no personal benefit; and no opportunity to advance financial benefit from the insider trading system.
Without the ability to position personal wealth for benefit, why would a politician stay in office? The income of many long-term politicians on both Republican and Democrat sides of the aisle was completely disrupted by President Trump winning the election. That is one of the key reasons why so many politicians retired immediately thereafter.
When we understand the business of DC, we understand the difference between legislation with a traditional purpose and modern legislation with a financial and political agenda.
Lastly, this is why -when signing legislation- President Trump often said “they’ve been trying to get this through for a long time” etc. Most of the legislation passed by congress and signed by President Trump in his first term was older legislative proposals, with little indulgent value, that were shelved in years past.
Example: Criminal justice reform did not carry a financial benefit to the legislative bodies, and there was no financial interest funding the politicians to pass the bill. If you look at most of the bills President Trump has signed, with the exception of a few economic bills, they stem from congressional construction many years ago.
HOLD THE LINE.
No Munich.
What is disgusting is 201 Republican voting for a man that inquired about removing social media accounts of lawmakers he doesn’t like, then lied about it.
If he wants to null voices…what other rights does he want to remove?
Every vote for McCarthy condones his attempt to remove 1st amendment right.
The future Mrs. Luntz will not uphold his end of the deal. Guaranteed.
I think Mr Luntz appreciates Mrs Luntz upholding his end of their deal.
“Big shoutout to the real resist movement”
the biggest question i have is why it has not GROWN?
They are afraid to stand up for the nation, I hope and pray they prove me wrong!
The point of SDs post is that, by structural design, no one stands up for the nation.
There’s only money in America (and thus power) when America is severed into bits: guilds, foreign interests, etc.
Sundance is right about everything he says here.
The one change in the last 4 or 5 decades, I believe , is the growth of social lobbies and how much funding they have which means they have gains much more influence over the US Congress.
Money is, sadly, what makes our government move and grow.
Sundance mentions that the 30 member Rebel Alliance in the House seems to have made a possible deal on two of their three demand points.
They have gotten a promise for a vote on term limits and now will allow a single member to announce a vote to oust the speaker.
Also more Freedom Caucus members will be given seats on the House Rules Committee.
I noticed that they did not get a win on securing the border.
Too bad, this is a huge loss for our country but maybe something they can tighten up in sessions.
If we do not secure our border and deport all of the illegals we will have no country to save with the new brave Rebel Alliance in the House.
And eventually a broken bankrupt country will not be able to funnel any money to the DC swamp lobbies to make congresscritter’s wealthy either.
Every one will lose in the long run but none of these people can understand this.
A government of the people, by the people, for the people….
No more…
Just so we all know where we all are.
A government of the greedy, by the greedy for the greedy.
That’s sadly where we are.
Kill the goose that lays the golden egg.
$$$$$$$$
Excellent question, that I think SD answer’s above.
Their lobbyists (funders).
Because the ones supporting KM have legislation awaiting bill signatures.
It’s all about the $$$.
Too many cowards among the traitors

Big shoutout to the real resist movement. Bravo!
Ty Dave my apologies to catturd.
These 20 are a payback to the 18 republicans that voted for the omnibus bill.
Keep the knee on their faces.
Where are some of those new supposedly MAGA reps? Like Mayra Flores TX 34th?
She lost her bid to remain in the seat that she won in the special election in the summer.
The deal “includes a vote on term limits for members, more seats for Freedom Caucus members on the powerful House Rules Committee and allowing a single member to force a vote on ousting the speaker.”
Pffft! Rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic…
Who Cares If They Take THIRTY Votes?
4 Jan 2023
https://market-ticker.org/akcs-www?post=247781
Seriously, why am I supposed to care?
The damage was done by the outgoing Senate Republicans who could have blocked the Omnibus spending bill which cannot be repealed as the Senate would have to concur and Biden would have to sign it, and he won’t. Therefore the House has no power of the purse until October 1st. As far as I’m concerned I care not if they accomplish nothing until that day, and that’s because they already gave away their own power — so there is no productive purpose to them being there at all with their so-called “majority” until that bill expires.
That is September 30th.
The only reason to support them convening the House and conducting business is if that is absolutely resolved and cannot happen again. Therefore the following has to be the set of conditions under which you vote for a Speaker:
single issue bills? time to read bills?
The two most important “concessions.”
Yep, see his list of just five to start with.
That omnibus monstrosity will require CONgress to pass a bill raising the debt ceiling early this year to fund the pig trough.
Without it it the pigs will starve.
Naw – just harvest the pigs !!!!
Bacon!! 😋
send it to SCOTUS for review…it is UNCONSTITUTIONAL….it originated in the SENATE……ALL spending measures are to start in the HOUSE
Doing the same thing again & again & expecting different results is insanity.
That’s Kevin to a “T”!
It’s also the SCOTUS.
Correct, the House was “neutered” for almost a year and has no real bargaining power. They may stop some crazy stuff like “gun confiscation” emanating from the Democrat camp but other than that, it’s all about professional Virtue-Signalling and Righteous Indignation.™
The investigations are not going anywhere—the Marxist DOJ, FBI, DHS, and Other Gov. Agencies (🤣🤣🤣) won’t be prosecuting themselves and will be defending the Bidens.
Rep. Jim Jordan and other “firebrand conservatives” will be fundraising off of the investigations but, in Shakespeare’s words, it will be a tale told by [idiots], full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.
Remember: Intent is driven by incentive, will is imposed through leverage.
Leverage and incentives control everything around us. Always have, always will (do). This is also the nature of D.C. politics.
The investigations are not going anywhere—the Marxist DOJ, FBI, DHS, and Other Gov. Agencies won’t be prosecuting themselves and will be defending the Bidens.
Yep the us house of reps is as useless as you know what on a wart hog.
The damage was done by the outgoing Senate Republicans who could have blocked the Omnibus spending bill which cannot be repealed as the Senate would have to concur and Biden would have to sign it, and he won’t.
Therefore the House has no power of the purse until October 1st.
The house of ill repute can still be a rubber stamp for more spending.
Us house of reps are under the control of lobbists and the devil is really in the details
Bought and controlled by pacs and lobbists.
Voters are considered as collatorial damage and expendible.
So then we should be rooting for this stalemate to last until October? I’m in.
The 5 conditions listed by Karl Denninger are an excellent start to returning the House of Reps. to We the People and removing Billionaire Thug control.
EVERY Treeper should read that article – it is only a 7 minute read for me and I’m a slow reader.
No deal. McCarthy loses for a seventh time.
John James Sold to McCarthy
Yes, he thinks he is not a slave.
James’ little speech is utterly tone-deaf about being given the Republican House majority.
So in todays last ditch effort MacCarthy pull our a I had a dream race baiter to nominate him.
Very telling .
Sickening.
It’s so obvious.
Perfect is the enemy of good [enough for government work].
evil is the enemy of everything else.
No one requires perfect.
someone who is not a crook or controlled opposition would be a change.
McCarthy is neither perfect nor good.
…..nor adequate.
No its not. That’s an idiotic statement probably made up by a politician to convince people to abandon their principles to compromise.
A good day with your kids is perfect. A perfect weekend is having a good time with family and friends. Etc etc etc. God is perfect. It should be quite obvious that perfect is not the enemy of good. Perfect is the result of good and truth and beauty.
Pelosi’s a pig. I hate that photo of her tearing up the people’s SOTU address.
Empress Piglosi
She is the hat, and we are the shoes. If you don’t believe me, just ask her.
Made my blood boil…
What about “the people/republican base do not trust McCarthy” do these folks not understand?
They understand, but they don’t care. We don’t rate.
Well then lets do this until we do rate.
your vote doesn’t count, so your voice is not relevant.
Seems pretty relevant the last seven votes for speaker.
Thank you!
he was MY rep for 12 years……I am well aware of McCarthy’s lack of clarity or veracity and failure to have any grounding or base which would indicate he has core principles
Embarrass and humiliate McCarthy. Make him squirm and whimper.
It is a start. Deserves much worse. Much worse.
Sure but lets take our wins where we can get them. Humiliating McCarthy has been an awful lot of fun.
Sundance says Club for Growth is team Not McCarthy.
Does that mean they are team MAGA, or what are they?
More MAGA thank Sean Hackity. More MAGA than one-eyed McCain. More MAGA than Huckabee. More MAGA than Hugh Hewitt.
https://www.clubforgrowth.org/
I’d think the Club For Growth is team Club For Growth.
Greg you are on to something. See my response to Charles Dodgson.
Club For Growth is Rino Central. Years ago when I finally had enough of sending $ to the RNC I found the CFG. I wanted to support real Republicans. I decided to support CFG. One of the candidates for a house seat that the CFG was supporting at that time was Jeff Flake from Arizona. Remember him? After a few years I realized that I was supporting the same people the RNC was pushing. Now I pick a particular candidate who seems conservative and I do my homework on them. Then maybe I send a check while crossing my fingers and toes.
Matt Gaetz – We’re not trying to dictate terms. We represent our constituents. Kevin McCarthy has no ideology. He’s a vessel through which lobbyists and special interests operate. My team are the people in Florida who sent me here to fight for them.
there’s a lot more of them than just his district in FL… so its “curious” why the 20 aren’t more like 150….
They care not about you and I, or their constituents. There aren’t more because they are already “getting theirs”.
I think it’s probably harder than it sounds like for a MAGA person to get on the ballot and mount a campaign against an establishment candidate. Unless you’re independently wealthy, where are you going to find the time and money to make it happen?
Fake it until you make it like they do.
You are not their constituents so why do they care what you think.
Its a fantasy football league where you are just making marks on some paper, but don’t pick the team or the affect the roster for the actual players.
You don’t pay them, or set up all the extras and future career.
The congress is a means to end, not an end in and of itself to govern.
Something to keep in mind for the next primary season.
Those changes won’t sway most of the no votes for McCarthy.
Why is our beloved country even called a republic anymore?
Evidentially we should call it a corporatocracy and stop pretending.
” The Creature Swallows Congress ”
A chapter in the book about the Federal Reserve — Creature From Jekyll Island
What I’ve been saying forever.
The last thing – a single member essentially requesting a “no confidence ” vote against Speaker is worthless – just a window dressing stunt-would never get traction against existing Speaker, BTW are the jokes re roommates McCarthy / Luntz just jokes or is it a real “Rock Hudson ” secret ? If latter hard to believe…
On 8 Nov 2022 Kevin McCarthy rec’d only 68,562 votes from his District constituents to get his seat in Congress. That was the General. In the Primary he got 45,191. That was with a population of about 692,790 U.S. Citizens (2020).
In other words, he got less than 10% of his population to vote for him. Both of those numbers are drastically down from 2018. Even his constituents in California don’t trust him.
https://ballotpedia.org/Kevin_McCarthy_(California)
https://datausa.io/profile/geo/congressional-district-23-ca
And how many ballots were harvested for him?
One has to wonder.
It’s enough to make you lose your lunch. But the last two days have given me some joy. Love seeing McCarthy lose vote after vote
……..after vote after vote after vote after vote.
And possibly today…….after vote!
Dan Bishop’s speech nominating Byron Donalds was epic!
Another person with a criminal background.
How cheaply the men of the west give away their honor, no wonder there is not an honest man anyone can think of.
I couldn’t find dirt on either Dan or Byron. Who did what?
Byron had a marijuana charge as a youngster, apparently.
Oh. Small fry.
Redemption.
Second Chance.
Forgiveness.
Everyone makes mistakes…
Thanks for your two cents, Eeyore.
I called his office today with appreciation and told ’em that I figure there only about 20 patriots left up there willing to fight.
In other words;
It’s all staged bullsht
Trump knows this and is why he verbally supported Kevin from California.
Not supporting him won’t change the inevitable.
Spare us the memes.
Donald Trump does not know “how this movie ends.”
And this whole meme strikes me as very Q’ish.
What is the purpose of the staged BS? I think Trump and Musk see no benefit either way, but what are their solutions? Are Jordan, Gaetz, Boebert able to execute a long game that puts us in a better place?
In attempt to answer my own question — the purpose of the staged BS is to perpetuate the stupid believe that this government operates for the people by the Schoolhouse Rock principles of the U.S. constitution. As long as a critical mass of stupid workers like us are generating tax revenue, then they can keep getting rich off the system. But the host for this parasite is drying up and dying, so now they are selling legs, arms, and organs that will eventually make the host die (selling land, high tech, trade secrets, political influence, military equalization).
In order to survive they must become more and more evil, more traitorous/treasonous. And they will not stop, always willing to trade a little more ethics and soul to keep the money flowing.
I think when PDJT was president, he was successfully reclaiming the system and preserving the Constitution. I don’t know if that can be done again.
More and more it seems the only option is to water the Liberty Tree, but this time within our own borders.
That is what I commented on the very first day of this rough and tumble skirmish and I was soundly ridiculed and criticized.
However, I stand on my theory that unless the 20 something hold-out patriots had an end-game planned then it could end in a very bad way.
Really can no long stand listening to the sales pitch speeches nominating McCarthy or Jefferies. I pause the dvr then fast-forward past that drool until they’re done. Just watching a whole body of trash clapping like trained seals is discussing
The calculation now is pretty simple: if there are 5 or more Members who will not vote for McCarthy no matter what deals are made — then he never becomes Speaker.
If the cabal that wants McCarthy in refuses to replace him with someone who the anti-McCarthy members might accept — then we are in for a long dirty slog.
Only the wind knows what’s going to happen in the next few hours or days.
McCarthy 0 for 7
If that is going to be the case I do not see much of a downside of them being occupied so.
It keeps them from passing terrible legislation and squandering more of our resources in the mean time.
New lyrics from Jimi:
“And the wind…
Cries…
No McCarthy.”
Guess all the messages my Rep Eric Burleson Missouri recieved not to vote for McCarthy fell on deaf ears.
Funny how their mouthpieces keep telling us the hear and are set on doing the Peoples work.
Problem is he came from Missouri where there is a vast majority of Republicans in the State House, and then come to DC swamp as low man and told he has to go along or be shunned.
Just called DC office of my MO district congressman, Graves.
I asked that he vote either present or for someone other than KM.
Have no idea if anyone else in my area has called.
If too many vote Present then Hakeem Jeffries will become Speaker.
How would that work?
Why wouldn’t some Kev votes turning to ‘present’ trigger fear of a Kev # collapse and give the glob of 200 courage toward another Repub?
Apparently, voting present lowers the max number of votes required because they didn’t voice a name.
Well, I don’t like that then. 😬
Republicans denounce new House Dem leader Hakeem Jeffries as an ‘election denier’
https://nypost.com/2022/12/01/rep-denounce-hakeem-jeffries-as-election-denier-after-house-dems-elect-him-leader/
Jeffries is a combo of Pelosi and the squad. Purely dangerous and fanatical.
I have no doubt whatsoever that what Sundance has posted is absolutely, positively accurate.
I also have no doubt whatsoever that the Founding Fathers would horsewhip everyone involved with this racket.
This is NOT what they, and everyone since them has fought, bled, and died for.
Loss #7.
I don’t know how quickly they post these, but it should mostly be a simple cut and paste. 😉
https://clerk.house.gov/Votes
This article accurately explains that, while I love folks like DeSantis, I will not vote for him in a national race as he will belong to these multinational donors.
So you’ll vote for Newsom or Harris instead? smh
Why vote at all? You simply enable power and control freaks who DO NOT represent you by doing so.
A few days ago I would have only voted for a Freedom Caucus member IF any of them represented my district. My Repub Rep isn’t a member.
Now with only a minority of THEM showing sings of NOT being Uniparty, the list would be even more limited.
ONLY when “Republicans” start losing HARD will they pay attention. But, actually, considering how bad government has gotten off the Constitutional rails and how OWNED it is, but not by US, probably not even then.
Lol, if Trump isn’t the nominee, then I’m not voting period.
No we won’t vote at all. You can keep voting for more RINOs, getting stabbed in the back and then whining about it if you want.
KM’s word is meaningless. Don’t look for much if any of the agreed terms to be heeded and implemented.
what will come next after all of the “I told ya so’s” should KM get the Speakership?
I saw where Lauren Boebert has said McCarthy does not have 218 votes.
Yet, apparently, there will be a seventh vote for him, which he will just as apparently lose.
Why have a vote if he knows he will lose……..again?
If he’s going to negotiate his way into the Speakership, why hold the vote before negotiations are complete? Negotiations, NOT threats, by the way.
One thing about it, democrats are smarter than that.
I think they are corrupt to the bone, but they are smarter than that.
Even if McCarthy wins, he loses.
Nobody on either side will respect him.
Kev wants to wear them down. He can keep popping up his head, again and again, and get a full night’s sleep on Luntz’s couch, and do it all over again, until the Rebels give up.
Why would the rebels give up? They actually have support from the people who elected them. Everyone else voting for McCarthy should be worried about their voters who are looking forward to the next opportunity to primary them out. I emailed my Congressman and told him I cannot wait to vote against him if he continues to vote for McCarthy.
Implicit in this article is that the 20 holdouts are holding out at the direction of the lobbyists they are aligned with?
Gaetz voted PDJT
Thanks
Steve Bannon said this morning they should elect Trump for the first 100 days….call it 100 days to save America. He said Trump could negotiate the debt ceiling budget mess.
I don’t know though….
It was my one disappointment with Trump that he did not fix our debt mess. I think he may have wanted to grow the economy first….but, still.
IMO PDJT does better as MAGA spokesman and kingmaker and remaining outside the beltway.
Recovering the Republic will be a long slog IMO, outlasting the lives of most who post here. I thank PDJT for what he has done, if nothing else shining a light on the problems and being the canary in the coal mine. The rest is up to us.
Who voted for Trump? Love it
Wait…what? Who just voted for Trump?
Gaetz
voted Donald J Trump
Gaetz just voted for Trump.
Gaetz voted DJT.
Byron Donalds either declined to vote or was distracted and missed the initial chance to vote for himself in this round. There will be a second chance in a little bit.
Matt Gaetz voted for Donald Trump.
McCarthy can’t be trusted to uphold any agreement he signs on to. He’s like a piece of over-cooked spaghetti; he just bends and says to wherever the pressure his. Not trustworthy and he certainly doesn’t care about America.
Woo Hoo!!! Gaetz voted TRUMP!!!!!!
MTG sucks! She had her chance-go kiss McCarthy’s ass….
Yeah, she’s showing her IQ.
Me like.
If that’s true and Donalds still got 20, then who changed their vote? I see Massey was sitting between 2 Donalds people – was it him?
I wonder if he’s serious or if he was trolling them — rubbing MAGA right into their faces?
“When we understand the business of DC, we understand the difference between legislation with a traditional purpose and modern legislation with a financial and political agenda.”
The above statement made by Sundance is the “light bulb” in the cellar where most voters reside, wandering around trying to find the “reasons” why their wishes seem to be low on the list of what happens in Washington.
This is the “wake up” call voting Americans need to see and learn as soon as possible. It is not wrong to establish a lobbying effort, to get the “ear of politicians” to promote specific points of view and needs: It is wrong for elected politicians to deny input from their constituents, real input! That is what is called a “sell out” in so many ways and there are too many of such politicians in office.
It is the responsibility of American voting citizens to get educated on these realities!
Sundance has posted similar articles spelling out the details before.
I’m sure they are in the archives.
At some point, for McCarthy to become Speaker, the entire gigantic Uniparty mask has to completely slip off that Chamber of clapping hyenas.
As all their lying corporate media charlatans go completely insane, as the Great American Political Fraud is finally exposed even for normal people.
I opined this morning that the Uniparty will need to sacrifice some Congresspeople to cross the virtual aisle and vote for the opposing SoH. The optics and effect on those members would be the only significant sacrifice. That presumes the Freedom Caucus holds and doesn’t make a deal.
MTG and Matt Gaetz are sitting together. Both are smiling.
What!!??
Would like to see ALL committee heads from the Freedom Caucus. Unlike Trey Gowdy and his furor and accusations with no penalties or in many cases, what should have been convictions or ousters.
No posturing, but results. We want / need our Republic restored and this is a good start. Just stop with any “cross the aisle” rhetoric. They never meet Republicans, but vote in lockstep.
Please Clap sign was on
Did Jeb! flip the switch?
This is similar to what Sundance has laid out in the past. It is discouraging.
What are the solutions? What are the pathway to a healthier economy for U.S. Citizens? Is there a realistic reason/basis for hope of restoring hope?
Basically this article is revealing that, relative to corporate and special lobbying groups, the American people have no influence on how our legislators vote, and how our tax dollars are spent. We have nearly unlimited taxing and no representation. The government/swamp is the parasite, and U.S. tax money, wealth, and production capacity is the host. The only protection we have is that, if they kill the host — the parasite eventually dies or cannot eat as well.
Democrats want influence to further their communist agenda, and “buy” that influence from RINOs, who want money. RINOs believe in the American Dream, but they want to keep it all for themselves as long as the middle class keeps working. Demoncrats want their social justice/causes supported – which are destructive to the middle class american dream opportunities.
Both Dems and RINOs need the stupid, blind, enslaved middle class to keep working, and give indulgences to poor or citizenship without responsibility to buy votes.
The 20 standing firm against McCarthy — what is the plan, what is the end game? How do we get back to government of, by, and for the people?
Also:
Who is the MAGA candidate for Speaker who:
1) wants the job; and
2) can get 218 votes, or at least the majority of whatever the quorum is.
I really wish Jim Jordan would step up to the plate.
Really disappointed about that.
This is an honest question: Do you really think that the Republican Uniparty majority would all vote for a MAGA speaker?
My Ohio rep Dave Joyce is one of the Main Street Republicans who is all-in for McCarthy. I don’t see him or any of the other RINOs voting for Jordan. I think if Jordan had that much support, he would have gotten more than 20 votes when he was nominated by Gaetz on the 2nd and 3rd rounds. They had their chance.
Suppposedly Jordan has stated that as long as McCarthy is in the running he will not oppose him for the job.
7 time LOSER Kevin McCarthy.
The way this will work is they have a deal until they don’t.
Harriet Hagemann did not vote. Don’t know if she is in the room or not.
We’ll see.
She hasn’t been sworn in yet?
None of the newbies have been sworn in, but they still get to vote for Speaker
None of them have been sworn in. They have to vote for Speaker so they can be sworn in.
It seems wrong but this is how it is.
The Clerk of the House is the boss at the moment until we get a Speaker.
No one has been sworn in yet. COTUS provides for members to vote for Speaker prior to conducting business. The votes yesterday underscore that, 434 most of the time. I think the vote to adjourn was the only one that was short, by 4. One member died after election before this proceeding, so 434 instead of 435.

LOL.
re: Sundance post here.
Are we all so sick and tired of hearing these congressmen and women, saying in support of Kevin McCarthy, to the cameras in the past three days, about how this process in the House is “preventing us from doing the people’s work”? I would of swore they were going say it is preventing us from the business of fleecing the people instead….s/
“Most people are unaware that outside lobbyist groups hold the power over the internal dynamic.”
Thank you Sundance, such a hard lesson for me….but we have to get to the root, now hand me the damn AX!
