Representative Matt Rosendale (R-MT) railed against Congress’s “broken system” as he nominated Byron Donalds for the 9th round of voting in the race for Speaker of the House on Thursday.
During his remarks, Rosendale outlined the power dynamic and rules system, what he calls “the nasty little secret, put into place by prior leadership that has corrupted the institution and made the voices of individual members irrelevant to the activity within the lower chamber. Rosendale outlines how changing these rules and the power dynamic of the few is what the protest against Kevin McCarthy is all about. WATCH:

I still say the “not so amazing part” of this is after 4 election cycles of MAGA only 20 dissidents can be mustered.
Yet people argue a new party isn’t needed and that the party can be changed.
Slightly off topic, but when I read your comment, it reminded me of the expected traffic to Heaven when comparing the rock songs, Stairway to Heaven and Highway to Hell.
Why are there only 20 defenders of liberty?
Many State legislature bodies are forming Defender of Liberty too.
Yes, they ARE, and its actually easier to get a MAGA majority in State legislatures than it is U.S. Congress, takes less time, too.
The real action must occur at the state level where the people are at arm’s reach to the pols.
They are the first ones. Maybe others will follow.
Defenders of liberty? I wouldn’t get to high-falutin’. Maybe ever-so-slightly, ever-so-accidentally.
As SD pointed out yesterday, it’s more like the hired guns of two RNC guilds banging it out.
Money, not liberty.
Exactly. How many state legislatures have properly eliminated voter fraud? How many state legislatures have instead *certified* their own state’s blatantly fraudulent elections?
Until the legislatures properly address election fraud or, as Sundance put it, ballot collections vs real votes, we the PEOPLE cannot expect any “representation.”
Until election fraud is eliminated, these state “representatives” are merely fighting to keep themselves *fed* at the trough.
Yep! And McDaniels is standing right beside like a vulture waiting for it’s next meal. It’s all about the $$$ Benjamin’s!
I don’t think so. By holding out, they will be losing money because they won’t be allowed to serve on committees. These representatives deserve our respect and admiration for going against the establishment. If McCarthy does get in, it will be even worse for them because he will be determined to make them pay one way or the other.
The rest have “Bills to pay”?
Remember the story of Gideon in Judges chapter 7. By trusting God, he only needed 300 bold, obedient men to save Israel.
Pray our twenty will hold strong.
Anyone here remember Sodom and Gomorrah? When God wanted to destroy them the Prophet tried to bargain with Him saying ” If I can find, 100, 50, 10 0r 5 just men will you spare them? God said “yes”
He did not find that many.
I wonder if the 20 just men in your congress will be spared?
I wager there are 200+ congress people ticked off about the GOPe dictatorship of rules … it’s easier to maintain an aura of “modicum” by letting tge courage 20 stop the wagon to hell. If the secret deals behind the curtain are forced ti give up serious crucial concessions to earn back 218 votes, then this moment could be historic. It could unblock the logjam and permit the river of justice to flow again.
if you are into that sort of thing (I am having spent many years listening to seriously HEAVY rock and rock), check on ronnie james dio lyrics from his song “last in line”.
once you get past the imagery and the show circus, the lyrics speak to some quite fascinating and daunting possibilities ….it’s definitely not close to the biblical grounding I was raised on, but for quite a few years, I was more than curious. Now that I am older and maintain a formal strong commitment, these lyrics and music are simply amusing, but hold no serious truths, even if they attempt to “cover” what has already been said.
one particular piece of the lyrics:
“We’re the hand that writes
Then quickly moves away”
this is regarded as a direct reference to the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam. who wrote:
“The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ,
Moves on: nor all your Piety nor Wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line,
Nor all your Tears wash out a Word of it.”
Essentially: take responsibility for the things that you do, because once you’ve done them, you can’t go back in time and undo them.
Dio was more than just a metal head rocker, he was also someone well read and examined some of the most difficult (arguably impossible to fully understand) circumstances of a human existence. He would draw from the bible, islam, and a host of other “religious” texts and would create art to illustrate. I was never persuaded his lyrics did or could ever improve my spiritual self, but there is no doubt it was fuel to get me thinking about my own salvation and why we are all here and what we might expect in this physical human world. At least he had the integrity to present many things are unknowable, but also that unknowing something does not mean a reality does not exist. He frames this delimna well, possibility better than any modern artist in my lifetime…imho. Does he give me dependable hope or a solid foundation of ideas…no way…but that is how good art works. It’s the thing that makes you contemplate.
back to the SO CALLED MAGA MEMBERS: fragile, incomplete, imperfect…fully capable of doing the right thing, but also desperately hopelessly doomed to commit great error. Taking a stand requires more than just courage. It literally means you are ready to make this hill your resting place. You either own that or a gentle wind backs you right down the hill.
I am not defending these interlopers, those who arm waved and then slipped back and acquiesced to the status quo.
Often we have this view that somehow these people, elevated by the false impression of the boob toob are super human and are fighters. real fighters. That is actually quite rare IN REAL LIFE…
and it usually only happens when someone has no other options.
these back skidders simply chose to not fight, and found another option.
politics….it’s a game of make BELIEFS. a stage upon which to act and perform, but rarely does a true marriage happen.
God Bless America
Excellent point Dev – excellent. Only 20 real MAGA reps!
Is there such a person as a MAGAe or a MAGAm or a MAGAino? (MAGA-elite, MAGA-money, MAGA-in name only?)
Whodathought!
Apperently, MAGA in name only? Yes, MTG.
How could anyone say they are MAGA, and vote for McCarthy over PDJT?
If you look closely, you can see MTG growing a tail and whiskers, a swamp rat apprentice.
Wow. Perfect description.
Exactly. It seems to come upon them like a slowly progressing disease.
Especially in their 2nd terms. Which is why term limits are a must.
And perhaps the answer is that in their first term, they were compromised willingly or unwillingly…
If that is the case, AND if these prople had any conscience or loyalty to the electorate, they would not run for a second term.
The founders did not envision politics as a lifeling career or a sinecure. Their own actions suggested that politics was a period of service -not unlike jury duty – after which one returned to private life.
Obviously, they have no conscience or loyalty…
I don’t agree with artificial term limits. That’s a red herring to distract from REAL term limits, which are free and FAIR elections.
What would stop our fake “representatives” from gorging themselves at the banquet even FASTER than they do now, knowing they have nothing at all to lose, as they can’t even be re-elected? At least the current crop, in theory, must *sweat* re-election to remain at the trough. In fact, re-election is their only incentive (absent a conscience) to EVER take the will of voters into consideration!
Fair ELECTIONS are paramount. Fair elections ARE term limits! Without fair elections to keep them honest, nobody in DC EVER has to consider the will of the people, however long they may hold office.
Fair elections. And TERM LIMITS. Congress shouldn’t be a career. It should be a period of serving the PEOPLE.
It isn’t either or. It is both because the longer someone stays in the D.C. swamp, the more they inhale the swamp gas and morph into what we have now.
Judith:
I understand/agree with what your saying, although I am for term limits. They don’t need to be there 20-30-50 yrs. What should be done or made known (for everybody) is their tax returns while in office. Not just theirs but immediate family and those they do business with. That should be the cost to work for us. They made PDT’s known and it is said that he lost money. NOW it’s their turn! Fire the ones cheating/scamming/enriching themselves and as this gentlemen in the video says start representing us! Make election fair and honest, NOW, or it’s truly over. I appreciate all who comment here, Maranatha
Make enriching one’s self at the public trough a mandatory death sentence, after a fair trial.
It is treason.
Bitch McConnell is an excellent example why term limits ought be considered.
If the damage of good ole boys voting for him without question was limited to Kentucky so be it. But it’s not.
I worked many years as a contractor employee on various federal reservations and the real power is the entrenched civilian bureaucracy. Military officers ostensibly in charge rotate in and out and have little influence. A hardass might take comand but the sillyvilians know to be patient and he will be gone eventually.
Our gvt is made for good people and w/o them it’s a slide to the bottom.
Term limits for elected AND un-elected!
Agree! Remove the corruption, lobbying and money behind them and have secure elections! We the people will determine whether they stay or go!
Just curious, do you believe in a term limit for the President?
That already exists, why for him and not for Congress critters?
Yes, We the People have been derelict in our duty to be involved and vigilant, not to mention the fact that our Constitution was meant for “a moral people.”
i tend to agree. term limits is not a TOTAL solution…but it IS a bona fide limit on individual “tenured” power. People like peloser, and mcconnel would not exist well past their shelf lives would be one benefit. But you are correct, and I’ve written about this conundrum.
if congress limits a term to only one, it would simply mean that the corrupt activities would be tasked on a faster timeline.
but that does not mean term limits are inconsequential either.
combined with many OTHER limits, such a the ability for ANY member to motion a debate to remove the speaker for cause.
or limiting to zero the money any member can receive even indirectly through cutouts and family and cronyism would be another part of the total solution.
but there is something else, and while I don’t want to big foot this thread, it deals with the current state of the EC versus proportional voting. Why SHOULD DC have more voting power than the citizens of the entire state of Louisiana? Obviously, Louisiana has more voting citizens and yet, DC has just as many representatives and EC rep. That is unequal and unfairly demonstrates some of the deep flaws in the current state of the EC system. For national election, presidents, this is particularly significant to realize just how unfair it is. IN practice this means that a presidential candidate (any) can SAFELY ignore entire flyover states, and focus on “battle ground” states.
fixing DC and congress is part of a much larger problem. I can’t expect these will all get fixed, but it well past time that folks understand just exactly how it happens that king making is quite easy to manipulate here in the US (arguably in nearly all other western so called civilized “democracies)
jmho
God Bless America
A check from Klaus Schwab is all that’s needed.
I wondered about MTG. I haven’t followed everything she’s said, so maybe I’ve missed her explanation.
But the only reason I could come up with that was not swamp, was that she was following Trump’s endorsement of McCarthy. I still disagree, if that’s her reasoning. But I wonder if that’s it or something else.
she lost her committee assignments under the last Congress for disloyalty and being outspoken…..KM has promised her return to some of the committees for her support
That makes sense, thanks.
Maybe being “in” is part of being the undercover spy? Just a thought. I’m sure there are many reasons.
Have you considered that there may be an eextramarital affair?
What if she has a signed contract to be given a committee chair post?
I can’t understand it – but I guess having it “both ways” is the “in thing” in the Swamp.
MAGAINO
that’ll work
I agree, a new party is in order if GOP cannot be fixed!
And WHAT, exactly do you think “fixing” the Republican party is going to LOOK like?
Hint,…your Seeing It happen, right now.
THIS fight, over RULES is only tangentially about Kevin, and Ronna and yes is rubbing off on McConnell, and its EXACTLY what “fixing” the Republican party looks like.
And, similar battles need to, and are occurring in State R parties, across the country, and have been for some time.
And yes, those in power fight DIRTY, and they HATE MAGA. They will NOT yield power gracefully or easily.
MAGA will have to beat them, bloody and bruised.
THIS is what”Draining the swamp” looks like.
The Congressional Republican Leadership was the single greatest impediment to PDJT during his first term.
And the deep State would never have engaged in Treason (muh Russia) without knowing they had the full support and cover of Congressional Republican Leadership.
The Speaker signs, or doesn’t sign all subpoenas, and court filings on behalf of Congress.
The Speaker authorises ethics investigations in an election year, or doesn’t.
Assigns Committee chairs, office space, and distributes(or withholds) campaign funds.
And, is two heartbeats away from the POTUS.
If your planning on Impeaching Biden/Harris, you DO NOT want Kevin as Speaker.
Yep, Kevin already said an impeachment of Joe is off the table. Yet, he supported going after Trump. He’s Uniparty swamp through and through.
exactly, hold the line to the 20 patriots.
Dutchman, your logic & insight just reminded me of Rush. 🥺 THANK YOU.
I’m in full agreement on what you’re saying, but if this turns out the way it usually does I see no other way than what Maria is saying. I started out as a dem. for 10yrs (I was raised that way) and have voted rep. for 34 yrs. What has that gotten us. One of the biggest disappointments was during obamas reign (as well as what they did to PDT). We gave them the House & the Senate and they still gave him every thing. I appreciate all who comment here, Maranatha
You know that only something like 14% of colonists participated in the Revolution, right?
I thought it was more like 5%.
3% took up arms, a THIRD were supporters of the revolution….LEARN your history
Hard to learn about it when it is constantly being re-framed and erased.
fairly easy….do not use newer history books….when I was younger I studied out of books from the late 1800s and early 1900s
also do not believe the reframing……if you have had any education beyond HS and even some better HSs will teach you to go to PRIMARY SOURCES….when you are hearing DIRECT source information there is no corruption of that information
start off with disbelieving everything “they” are telling you today
Don’t get caught up on the 20 or so dissidents..only 5 are needed to stop mccarthy and the rinos…..more exposures of the rinos are at risk if they employ tactics with demo-Rats….
At any rate-for me-this play by the Patriots is encouraging! MAGA and DJT Forever!!
That’s right, and what they are exposing in holding out (and continues to amplify the longer this goes on) is how uncompromising the Uni-party will be with any issue the Holdouts deem important during this Legislative Session.
only 5 Demonrats would need to support McCarthy to get him elected, but none of them are moving….
300 protected what became western civilization.
Well played.
Grrrrrreat speech!!!!!!
JMO.
The number of dissidents, 20, is just the way they manage the votes at this stage.
President Trumps had many more MAGA endorsed candidates that are still hiding in kevin’s totals. I believe they will be leveraged at the appropriate time.
You can see them at the following link to Ballotpedia…..
https://ballotpedia.org/Endorsements_by_Donald_Trump#2023
“Let’s go Brandon!”
Kinda highlights who everyone really is. Twenty out of 222 after so many vote cycles is eye opening. Looks like even the Uniparty is divided.
What does this drama matter as it unfolds inside the federal government of the United States of the WEF? The 20 are still maintaining the pretense, even with their rebel pose. Freshman or fighter, every Potomac freeloader knows which side their bread is buttered on.
Will the new speaker force the house to quit passing wish lists from K Street up to the senate?
that is actually is the whole point of the resistance per Gaetz
Please give specific examples of how our 20 Rebel Alliance fighters are “maintaining” the (which?) “pretense” and engaging in a “pose.”
As far as I’m concerned they are bravely letting it all hang out in the best manner.
Please understand. I do support them. Whether they prevail, or not, I just have very low expectations for institutional change. The system is fully owned and operated by interests who have no interest in what the voters want. The bi-annual ritual of candidates going before the public, hat in hand, begging for its support is just that. A hollow ritual and nothing more.

Great speech though
I really think we need to blow up the republican party –metaphorically speaking for you FBI gestapo tracking us.
Who is John Galt?
I am serious. Think about it. We need to end this charade now. It is the only way to defeat the uni-party. And start a third party that gathers all those left who aren’t blind. Provide a place to go for those who start to question the theater and reach the tipping point.
I joined my republican district committee here in Virginia to change/takeover from the inside. Many people in our committee think exactly like I do, but it just seems like we are still being used. There is some good work being done pushing back locally with schools, libraries, etc., but on the national and even state level it just seems like we are playing a game where the rules are made so that you cannot win.
You have to get MAGA in leadership and move up the state chain to state leadership, then federal leadership. It takes time. Start now.
One of my favorite clichés (which are that for good reason):
The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago.
The second best time is today.
Still doing both. Great comment my friend. I appreciate all who comment here, Maranatha
Same in Tennessee. Have to win locally before you can change the State Level. It is frustrating, but we have to try. There is so much money in politics, we may not be able to do it. Governor Lee signed a Child Mutilation Bill in 2018 and then when the stories came out in late 2022, he was ready for an investigation. He acted like Vanderbilt was doing the mutilations without anyone knowing.
“Child Mutilation” bill – great renaming. I can imagine it’s far from the original Orwellian name.
Here’s an idea for a rule change.
For each bill, those who vote against it get to vote in an alternate name for the bill.
So, even if for a while abominations such as the OmniBus slip through, the record includes something like McTurtleFace’s Folly.
(I’m reminded of the Brits who named a ship Boaty McBoatFace.)
Ridicule!
The Galt Party. I like the sound of it 😉
It takes a while for Americans to wake up, and more are waking up each and every day. Also, courage is a rare and beautiful thing. It can also be contagious, so take heart. Let us stay positive and pray that these brave men (hopefully, women too) are changing minds and hearts as people might actually hear the truth of the broken system we all are feeling every day. Many are still too afraid to see the truth, but as Sundance always says…the truth has no agenda. It simply is.
Thank you. So far Anna Paulina Luna is the only one, and MTG appears to be self-destructing – but we shall see…
A sudden thought occurs: I see Lauren Boebert arguing well, come to think of it, but why is she not listed among the 20+ yet?
Whoops! I just checked my notes and yes Lauren is. Sorry for my bad memory…
And there is also Mary Miller.
3 out of 20. Too bad about MTG – she should have been in this list.
I just hope she wakes up one of these mornings and smacks her head exclaiming “I shoulda had a V8!”
So you’d have a new party of 20 people. Do you think the RINOs will move over to an America First party? Of course not. So if you can’t convince the majority of the existing party, what is the point?
Let’s recognize the real problems. Our elections are corrupted and MAGA candidates get shut out. The candidates that do get elected get corrupted or blackmailed while in DC; only a few keep their integrity.
No change of party name or apparatus will fix that. Only getting the rewards out of politics will fix this, and the only thing that will cause that to happen is enough renegades to force the issue.
Maybe this will be the necessary exercise that leads to the demise of today’s Whigs Party.
Several here have spoken about the previous 1856 record of well over a hundred votes for Speaker.
Did that happen before or after the Whigs became history?
(I guess I have to go back and research, as usual…)
Our GOP rep is brand new, from a very conservative mostly rural area. His first vote is for McCarthy? He thinks so much of us he shut down his phones, not even messages. Even the email system his office uses is horrible. I doubt he will even campaign in the district in 2 years.
Sounds like you are talking about our new Montana Rep., Zinke.
Tried to contact his office several times yesterday to tell him my views, but couldn’t get through.
Zinke is coming into a new district. He does not have an office yet or even sworn in until there is a new speaker of the house. I’m not defending him as I held my nose when I voted for him over Tranel.
While I do not doubt that Matt Rosendale is a patriotic American that cares about people, he is wearing blinkers if he thinks that most of his fellow Republican congressmen and women share his commitment. By their fruits you will know them and this shows that most put self interest first.
The [first] American War for Independence began in April 1775. In June of 1788 New Hampshire was the 9th Colony to ratify the U.S. Constitution which did not become the Law of The Land until March 1789. That’s 14 years’ worth of genuine blood, sweat and tears. We’ve sorta been at it since Trump came down the escalator in June 2015 but nobody really took Trump seriously until he was Inaugurated in Jan 2017.
So say U.S. American patriots have now been really hard at it since 2017. That’s five years, total, and so far, no wholesale wartime bloodshed. Events and circumstances change. People don’t change. Why should we expect our situation now to be much different from our 1st war for Independence? Back then, one-third of the citizens were fer it; one-third were agin’t; and one-third didn’t care one way or another.
I’m willing to keep sloggin’ for as long as it takes to end the negative forces of physical, cognitive and cultural inertia (e-NUR-sha) that our practically unlimited peace and prosperity have bred amongst our fellowcitizens. It’s a dirty job…
P.S. Matt Rosendale informed of things about the legislative process that really have been concealed and tamped down in the press and in general. Soooo corrupt. The magic words: “Pass by unanimous consent…” Effin creepy UniParty.
Excellent speech!! The rules need to be shattered. Most people have no clue of the indicenty of their own government. Definitely About time it’s talked about!! Thank you Representative!!
The risk these 20 are posing to the entire lobbying industry was the very reason all of DC hated PDT. These people are threatening rivers of dirty money and influence peddling. The uniparty hates uncontrolled risk to their crooked system
I’m proud of the 20!! The 200 gop need to loosen their ties and get out of their own nooses!! There is no character behind their undisturbed faces!
Not too shabby for a guy wearing a purple tie.
Yeah… he does better in a checkered or plaid shirt, no tie, and casual slacks or jeans.
Our recently-elected Montana guys may have some rough edges compared to the DC establishmenr but they make better sense.
Sounds like a Philly or Bawlemer accent. Maybe he should be considered a refugee in the vast dental floss plains of MT.
Just me and the Pygmy pony over by the dental floss bush…holding my zircon encrusted tweezers in my hand, gleaming in the moonlighty light…
don’t get me started. I have all of Overnight Sensation and Apostrophe (the crux of the biscuit BTW) committed to memory
He is a welcome refugee, and doing a much better job for us than Zinke, who was raised here.
These bozos could vote every day for the next two years as far a I care. Such activity aligns better with the value of government and spares the taxpayer.
Government shutdowns are the best thing that can happen to us peasants.
Except that goons are now employed to ensure that the people are those to suffer when it shuts down.
Remember Zero’s abominations at national memorials and such?
Sadly, I don’t think there are many retirees with the income to travel to DC to see those monuments after 2 years of Xiden Regime.
Ok…I wonder how many people are actually in the room? CSPAN stopped zooming out because there were complaints that it showed that generally no one is there. It’s literally a lot of grandstanding. He’s probably only addressing those people he named plus some…
The point made by Dev is also valid—WTH is happening with the people sent to D.C.? If only a handful support America First where does that leave us in the end? WE NEED TO START OVER and abolish the two Party franchise.
Well, NO. WE need to abolish the ONE party system, masquerading as a two party system, and that is EXACTLY what the 20 are DOING.
They have ruined “the plan” of kabuki theater for the next two years, that Kevin had planned, ripping the masks off the players, and letting the audience (the American people) see who and what they really ARE.
Exactly Dutch. I don’t understand why so many who claim to see what’s happening, really don’t see what’s happening. They jump on the narrative “Oh, the chaos!!!”
No, not chaos, beauty. It’s beautiful to see the process working as it was designed to work. Too many, over the last 4-6 decades, maybe longer, have been fooled by the faux two-party system into thinking this process nothing more than a show.
This is how every bill should be debated and torn apart, not just the vote for SOH.
This is how a Representative Republic is supposed to work.
Those shrieking about chaos are nothing more than Uniparty hacks scared about what they see happening- their grip on power slowly loosening.
Upvote to infinity
The MSM says it’s Chaos. They scream breaking news 24/7. It’s part of the design. Focus here not on solutions for the border etc.
This. The Republican Party is an empty shell, collecting money. The Democrat party is a single cell shell, collecting power and money. They are similar except that the Dims have a totalitarian objective. The Repukes just want the money; they have no ideology.
Trump was right. The Repukes are an empty shell waiting for a purpose. MAGA should give them one.
The longer this goes, the clearer the contrast of choices between deliberative body of the People and soviet style politburo of the Oligarchs.
Debate is deliberation – that is messy and good.
Forced conformity is totalitarianism – clean and bad.
Used to be that the US Congress was considered the world’s greatest deliberative body.
It has not been since long before I was born. One day maybe, that can be so once again.
Deliberating is slow and messy, and quite inefficient for those that have grand designs and greater ambitions.
They work so hard to escape responsibility, it is no wonder they all cry and whine when there is blowback from citizens who dox them or threaten their families. It’s what you get paid for. All that money has strings or should have, you represent us.
Their diligence to remove the people from having a voice will be their noose and gallows. Very ignorant people go into today’s government. If they knew the weight they bare Id like to believe few would enter and fewer would be ignorant.
As of now ignorance is the standard.
Since when in anything in life or this world has ignorance been given a pass? No they will be found wanting and that will be a day of great agony for each one, here just for the opportunity to repent.
Crime does not pay because of law’s stopping it, no crime does not pay because God made righteousness a standard to live by. You see that in congress? I see a low functioning individual who has been given authority that they did not deserve. Responsibility that they shun.
I see the same in most of those people too Pale.
“Since when in anything in life or this world has ignorance been given a pass?” Not sure when it all started, but “intent” is a loophole to avoid legal responsibility for breaking the law. Maybe Hellary didn’t “intend” to wipe her subpoenaed hard drive “with a cloth” or to obliterate those cellphones with a sledgehammer?
In any case, I agree that no one escapes justice. God’s laws ultimately prevail.
“From that time on, Jesus began to preach and to say ‘repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ ” Matthew 4:17
I just sent Rep. Rosendale a thank you for his speech today. Unlike others in congress, anyone from any state can email him. How refreshing! Encourage those we agree with…it’s an uphill road I know…but encouraging words might keep their spines stiffened.
please share his email address here so we can thank him too!
Just go to Matt Rosendale. Email address provided.
All good but keep in mind they all rate phone calls higher than emails.
This guy should be speaker. Great conservative with a great conservative MT state voting record!
I liked his speech!
Well done.
Disappointed that only 20 have the guts to fight for our country!
Every Republican in the House has been threatened if they don’t vote for McCarthy.
Since 20 is more than enough, why should additional #’s put themselves at risk?
How many are voting for McCarthy out of bribes, and how many because of THREATS?
They SHOULD be voting on who will be the best Speaker, “without fear or favor”.
“Since 20 is more than enough, why should additional #’s put themselves at risk?”
Because there is strength in numbers. Because it definitively identifies your position.
Because if you don’t you’re letting someone else carry your water marking you as a weak and ineffective representative.
Because if you stand on the side lines how will anyone actually know your position. No activity is an activity.
Because if enough visibly and actively joined the fray McCarthy would be shown the uselessness of his effort.
Because momentum is a wonderful thing. A groundswell overwhelming the opposition.
Brings to mind the movie 12 Angry Men.
In a jury of twelve, one (vs. eleven) challenges conventional thinking to kick things off. One at a time, and slowly at first, the others are convinced to join the one. As the numbers grow, momentum, excitement, and creativity kicks in as minds begin to open and possibilities are presented.
The roadmap is in the movie.
And because voters are developing long memories.
I appreciate and agree with most all of your comments my friend, But ‘why should additional #’s put themselves at risk?’ because that’s why we put them there for. And because when they don’t it tells us a lot about them.
Amen.
The Constitution provides no such ‘rules’.
It provides for them to make their own rules, and that has gotten so out of hand that none can restrain those wielding the power they afford, nor dare to.
This is good to see, more please, and let there be praiseworthy defections from the 200 zombies.
Correct but these ‘rules’ are nowhere in the Constitution?
Still he makes a very good case against these ‘rules’ from first principles.
Namely that Congress must represent We the People.
If it doesn’t via a stolen elections and/or unconstitutional ‘rules’ its illegitimate by definition.
Absolutely so.
The rules need to be trimmed way down and must brook no corruption.
The Rules Committee makes up the rules as it goes along. Over time as things change, not a bad idea – but once highjacked to enact an agenda and throttle debate, doesn’t work as intended.
The framers saw the need for change within principled bounds. They got it right and were hands off when it came to the effects of socio-economic and scientific change on the governing body.
Rules Committee can do as they wish…they are not binding until they face a floor vote of the FULL House
the US Constitution does INDEED stipulate that EACH chamber has the power to set its own RULES for operation
But no ‘rule’ can violate the Constitution, correct?
How is removing the ability of even one Representative on just one vote ‘not’ a violation of the Constitution?
I have wondered if that is a weakness in the Constitution. The rules have become the rocket launcher to shutting out and shutting off the minority and the People’s voices and the rising of the oligarchy.
Two persons are passing bills documented as by unanimous consent? Insane.
The Speaker position has accumulated too much power and has neutered our Representatives and crippled our Congress.
I can’t shake the feeling that McCarthy is not simply pursuing personal ambition, but has grand designs on the furthering of the destruction of our nation, that he is key to those plans and without a Plan B simply cannot bow out without dire consequences to his well being.
I care not for the consequences to this contemptible person; the country’s the thing.
Unanimous consent is used in the Senate too. A lot. Especially on confirmations of nominees.
Unanimous consent has its place and uses. It also should have constraints and limits, as should the amendment process.
I am not sure that the people in DC quite grasp how frustrated and hopeless and disrespected some very good people feel about how out of order our federal government has become. There are people who might answer a call to arms in an effort to protect and defend the Constitution.
What would be so hard about spending a few hours actually having roll call votes on easy bills?
I want to know that my elected officials are showing up for work and be able to see how they voted. They get paid. Do the work.
Proclamations recognizing ball teams that have won state championships may be nice, but they really do not have a place in our legislative process.
Even naming buildings is no longer completely noncontroversial. I doubt that my recently retired congressman would have agreed to putting Nancy Pelosi’s name on a building.
They.Do.Not.Care.
They don’t care to know.
And if they know, they don’t care.
He’d be second in line. And perhaps that’s his ultimate goal?
I’ve asked myself the same.
Once again where is the ‘speaker’ in the Constitution?
If so what limits are imposed?
A Treeper posted today where the Speaker is in the Constitution, it’s there.
I plead impending brain death on my inability to locate it for you right now.
Wow, really? Speaker IS a Constitutional officer, third in line.
US Constitution Article 1 Section 2 Clause 5
“The House of Representatives shall chuse their Speaker and other Officers; and shall have the sole Power of Impeachment.”
took 10 seconds to look it up…..no limits or method of selection is listed
there is however a natural limit at the END of each Congress when they recess at the end of even-numbered years…..the INCOMING House is then allowed to elect their own SotH for the NEW Congress….we are currently on Congress #118 since 3 Jan 2023
Thanks, but do they have the power to pass bills without a full vote?
Do they have power over the procedures the brave 20 want changed?
Answer to both is no.
And yet somehow they do, why?
under current RULES…which can be changed by a majority of MEMBERS (not sworn in yet) …..a majority of the members-elect voting is required to secure the office of SotH….EACH chamber by the US Constitution is in charge of setting its own RULES of operation
instead of being short-sighted and SNARKY maybe you should consider HOW the House operates…..the RULES determine HOW things are done and can be changed at ANY time by a majority of the present voting members…..we currently have ZERO members only members-elect as they have yet to be sworn in…..that is a PART of the problem with the issue of TRUST and KM……SotH has to be elected, THEN the rules can be voted on….who knows if what he PROMISES is what is voted on
I’m actually surprised that the Kevin McCabal is actually allowing the new members to vote – but they are, because a couple of the 20 are newbies.
I don’t disagree, but the issue here is can a rule violate the Constitution?
His whole point is that these ‘rules’ are used to effectively remove our Representative’s vote.
How is that not a black-and-white violation of the Constitution?
….and WHERE are their votes being “removed?”…the power behind their votes is being REDUCED……..the debate and amendment processes that USED to be a part of the legislating have been essentially removed but they do in fact still VOTE……again I think you are just muddled in confusion
“Two persons are passing bills documented as by unanimous consent? Insane.
The Speaker position has accumulated too much power and has neutered our Representatives and crippled our Congress.”
Hear, hear!
Thanks, Matt Rosendale, for pointing this out in such a clear fashion, at sucha time as this!
The key point is the power is not in the Constitution.
If it’s not there it goes to the States and then the people.
are you speaking in code?….what mysterious “power” are you referring to?…..I think in your confusion you have twisted yourself into knots
The power to pass laws based on the vote of our Representatives. That’s one of the primary reasons they are there according to the Constitution.
Again you can’t create a ‘rule’ that violates the Constitution, no more than you can alter or void a provision in the Constitution by mere statute.
‘Rules’ can only be made that add specifics of how they plan to achieve these Constitutional requirements.
the “rules” are what EOs used to be for the executive branch…they are the GUIDE……the guardrails that keep Congress within the bounds of the process of what they are doing…they make their own determination on that and rules can be changed at ANY time by a simple majority vote of those present voting members
Yes, “the plan” DEPENDS on there continueing to be no REAL opposition to the plan and that means rigid Uniparty control over both Houses.
We have SEEN the Power of the Speaker abused by Pelosi, we WANT to see it used to thwart the plan, not further it.
And this is how we do it.
over the last couple of decades, they have consolidated the power of Congress into the committee chairs and leadership positions through the Rules…..they have castrated the singular power of the individual member only granting them a last-minute yeah or nay with no power of debate or amendment leading up to the actual bills
it just takes ONE objection to prevent “unanimous consent”
Which might be why the gentleman explained that there are often only a single member of each party present at certain unimportant and not so unimportant votes.
All members present voted, both of them, unanimous, no one to object.
I lay that at the feet of the LAZY congresscritters who do as little actual work as possible on a $179,200/year salary these days……there is a REGISTER of upcoming votes so there is no reason NOT to know other than choice…..you will see in committee hearings often they tell the panels of temporary recesses for upcoming votes where they need to leave to cast their votes
Yes – and one has to wonder how often some are actually going out for a drink rather than to vote!
One should always pay attention to those visceral feelings. As in…
The WEF LOVES them some Kevin McCarthy.
Which makes this principled fight, dare I say it, existential for this country.
I assume that those currently in the highest positions, in both parties, are there for ideological reasons.
They hate us and want us dead, just as their master, Satan does.
Money and perks are secondary reasons.
You often hear patriots like the congressman propose various Process Reforms; repeal of the direct election of senators, term limits, abolishing the Fed, repealing the Income Tax, a Constitutional Convention, a Third Party, etc..
But none of these can happen without another Process Reform first.
It is also the only Reform that can end the Bio-Medical Security State, Open Borders, Planned Economic Meltdown, Official Racism, Disrespect for Life, Chronic Treason and the Corporate/State Fascism of the Globalist Syndicate.
That Reform is Honest Elections.
It is the Reform that gives you all the others–or at least a chance at them.
If we had Honest Elections, the House and Senate would have a solid working majority of patriots, working for America instead of their own greed or a Globalist Cult. Honest Elections would have weeded most of them out.
The Court would have a real Conservative Supermajority. The Borders would be under control. The Endless War would have never started. Life Respected. No Police State. No Vaxxine Industrial Complex. No Planned Economic Wreckage and Pre-Scheduled Crime Wave. None of the perverted and Satanic schemes now commonplace would have prospered.
Which is exactly why they stole elections from us. They knew a free people would never honestly consent to all their wicked plots. And, indeed, we didn’t.
If we still have need of Elections after the Great Reckoning that is coming–and it is coming–they will have to be honest and transparent in every regard. No more hiding behind Voting CheatWare “Proprietary Information”-contacts with cheating Voting Machine Companies and Cheating Politicians.
Elections are the Property of the People. PERIOD.
It does no good to enact a dozen good safeguards if a computer tech on the other side of the world can still add a zero and change 10,000 votes to 100,000, does it, Brian Kemp?
It would not be perfection, but it would bring a vast improvement to millions and millions of lives. And ironically, we might have not have ever needed President Trump, who was our answer to the pathologies of their Crooked Voting Tyrannies.
With Honest Elections, we control the Government.
Without Honest Elections, the Government controls us.
It is that simple.
Correct, but how to get honest elections from an illegitimate government?
And ballot fraud is only the second, and frankly lesser way they steal elections, and is dependant on the first, which is Uniparty.
By “controlled opposition” they insure that no matter what letter the winning candidate has after their name, Uniparty WINS.
We could NOT have the rampant organised ballot fraud we have, if the Republican leadership wasn’t complicit.
So, oust the Leadership, especially in STATE parties, if you want honest elections.
And its happening.
I’m pretty happy with Matt Rosendale. He speaks his mind and calls them as he sees them. I emailed him yesterday complimenting him and urging him to stay strong. He was my Rep until this last election when Montana got a second district. My new Rep is Ryan Zinke (R). I tried to contact him too. But no email unless you donate to WinRed first it seems and no phone number either. Pretty pathetic and disappointing right out of the gate.
I live in Montana too, in Zinke’s district. Let’s both write to Rosendale about this, and ask him to light a fire under Zinke’s butt. I xpect the best from this ex-SEAL – nothing less. Somebody has to get in his ear. I nominate Rosendale.
With me?
BTW – big Border Collie and working variety Aussie Shepherd fan here; love your avatar; love these working dogs, loyal and intelligent.
Too bad we can’t elect these loyal and intelligent working dogs to congress.
We have one fat, lazy, smelly, boot-chewin’, worthless, pot licker, table scrap and meat stealin’ ugly pug in the Senate from Montana that needs to be kept home and tied up. The campaign to identify a strong candidate to replace Testor needs to start now.
When I emailed Matt yesterday, the last thing I wrote was next time he sees Tester to kick him in the nuts for me.
Border collies are the perfect dogs, so smart and always excited to please. The other day I was XC skiing. One of my pole straps was broken and the pole stuck in the snow behind me and of course slipped out of my hand. I told Skepti (not her real name) to bring me my pole and pointed at it. She has no idea what a ‘pole’ is, but you could see the calculations and within seconds figured it out and brought it back to me. When it happened again later, she almost did it without prompting. They’re that quick.

I called Zinke’s office yesterday, and blistered the ear of the man who answered the phone.
Here’s the number:
(202)225-5628
Have a go!
20 which is about 6% of the house I think…well only 8 were saved out of the flood and Jesus said when I return will I see any faith on the earth..
I’m not paying much attention to this drama. The civil war is an ongoing component of the larger project. All by design.
The world war will override and add additional chaos and complexity to this civil war.
I with sincere humility would suggest that Sundance or any other truth seeker consider reading the book by Malachi Martin titled ‘The windswept House’.
The revelation of method revealed within the pages are enlightening in my opinion.
https://amgreatness.com/2023/01/04/the-coup-we-never-knew/
Where are all the newly elected MAGAs? Mayra Flores, I’m talking to you!
Mayra did not win re-election unfortunately.
Technically, newly elected members, as opposed to reelected members, can’t be sworn in, until there is a New Speaker.
But she’s THERE, and expressing her opinion, she just can’t vote.
Hmm, I thought they could vote for speaker before being sworn in. Aren’t some of the 20 holdouts newbies?
yes there are NEWLY elected as a part of the 20 “hold outs”
ALL member-elects are voting….they cannot be sworn in until there is a SotH….THAT is why in the early voting rounds there were 434 votes cast….remember the one congresscritter died after he was elected
I believe these are the newbies amongst the 20:
Josh Brecheen
Andrew Clyde
Eli Crane
Andy Harris
Anna Paulina Luna
Andy Ogles
Keith Self
GREAT floor speech, he reveals ONE of the “dirty little secrets”, …hinted at but didn’t SAY nobody IN Congress, writes ANY if the Legislation they have been passing, the LOBBYISTS do, as Sundance has outlined.
Still, the various floor speeches by members of “the 20” have been as explicit and condemning of the “business as usual of the Swamp, as anything I have heard since DJT’s Oct speech, or his inaugeral.
Remember that quote about not just eliminating “Trump”, but insuring “his kind” can never rise again?
It ain’t WORKING. The 20 might as well be called “the MAGA 20, or even the Trump 20; they are speaking Truth to Power, putting it all on the line, knowingly being VILLIFIED and Eviscerated, but they are Honey badgers, they don’t give a sh*t, and won’t be moved.
They ARE “Draining the Swamp”, they want to take the same awsome power the House has, and Pelosi maximised and abused, and use it FOR MAGA, instead of against it, and they WILL NOT be hamstrung by complicit leadership.
They are ABSOLUTELY right, to be having this fight NOW, and they know if they don’t win it, they might as well all go home.
They don’t want, and won’t accept Gowdy type show hearings, they want to raise hell and break things, and its long overdue.
The People’s 20!
The lack of applause tells me the majority of these bumblers want things to remain exactly as they are.
To them I say, “Lead, follow, or get out of the way!”.
The broken system he is describing is exactly the same way the RPOF (Republican Party of Florida) operates. It’s a top down approach and that is the way the counties are encouraged to run as well. This party is for the elite not the common voter. The precinct project won’t work in a top down system. The rules committee doesn’t need to follow their own rules they just need to craft/interpret them to keep the plebs at bay. Since each state has control of it’s ballot I do not foresee Donald Trump being able to be on the establishment held state’s ballot and you can put Florida and South Dakota in that basket.
Same in Ohio.
Unfortunately for all of us, this Representative is exactly correct.
I wish the talking heads on Radio/TV who claim to be Conservatives would watch this.
This gentleman comes from fly over country close to my home state. Those that live in the east or far
west have no clue what it is to be free. He does.
Probably a reason Pelosi kept the House members at home and they could vote remotely.
So brilliant.
I want to see more fire in the House of Representatives. That man is 100% correct. And love hearing the word Corruption on the House floor.
Now that is MAGA! Now that is an Amen!
Amen!
Purple tie!
Purple is a color of mourning.
Rosendale’s fantastic!
Sadly it is all for naught.
The deep state will continue cajoling, threatening, bribing and/or blackmailing the holdouts until their will is done. In the end, we all know the Rino McCarthy will be elevated to speaker.
Bonus, since he moved his office last week, no office move necessary.
Tragically, Rosendale and the others will be castigated. Couldn’t believe rino Crenshaw called them terrorists! Bastard. (To think, 4 years ago I actually liked him…) He’s shown his true colors during the past few years though. Don’t they all?!
Sundance is no longer mentioning the Chamber of Commerce. Interesting.
P.C. SD did so today (thursday) in an earlier piece. He reran his tutorial explaining how the legislative process functions today.

‘Action speaks louder than words’.
A broken system, you say?
Why, it’s working just fine, say those who run it.
But the entrenched House Members LOVE unanimous consent! Why? Because their voting record on asinine Bills will never be disclosed. They won’t get embarrassing questions on the campaign trail … and these incumbents will easily get re-elected. Why? Because nobody will see how they actually voted for anything. They can say anything they want about any Bill that was passed … because there’s no record of their vote.
Our House of Reps. has become a House of Bureaucrats. Minor functionaries of The Deep State … with less power than an FBI “investigator”.
Whenever a rebellion strikes, the percentage of those who initially rise up is about 3% and then increases as time goes on. This statistically persistent reality is a naturally recurring phenomena. Strange but seemingly true. Test it with the 21 brave souls in congress now. 21 divided by around 535 equals 3.9%. These few men and women – right now – stand between a chance to recover our nation or our being swept over the cliff into oblivion. This is how you stand in the gap. It’s a spartan moment of sorts. Let’s recognize it as such.
I personally know [& Respect] one of the freedom caucus members ….Mary Miller of Illinois -#1 She’s a devout Christian #2 She’s not a politician ….she only answers to God – If congress was filled w/Mary Millers our country would much better off… ….She raised and home schooled all 7 of her children [I’m pretty sure they all went to college – most w/ scholarships]….I’ve lost count of her grandchildren -There’s Alot! – all on a small farm in central Illinois – She Loves and Respects our country & the ideas that it was founded on….I Pray for her daily to help guide our country in the right direction….May God Bless Mary Miller- Truly Heaven Sent!!!!!!!!!
FYI…..I’ve been her Plumber for years…I still can’t believe she ran for office – She’s won twice now – She is NOT a Polititian….She Truly Cares!!!!
An election is nothng more than a job interview.
The winner gets the job and becomes an employee of the state to continue the grift operation.
Go along to get along, wink wink nudge nudge.
That was definitely a great speech. There was not much enthusiasm from the audience at the end of the speech, which is a good indicator that they support “corruption as usual.” I hope that the 20 Patriots hold out for two years if necessary.
I realize that kickbacks don’t flow in the pockets of Congressmen if no money is distributed. That is a good thing for the people. Stand tall Patriots! You are appreciated by America, even if you are not appreciated by your colleagues.
I noticed the same 20 Congressmen are the only ones applauding. The rest are picking up their faces from the floor after they got seriously bitc#h slapped.
The rest only clapped when he was called down for mentioning M. Waters.
Consolidation of power involves more than revealed by Rep. Rosendale. Campaign finance “reform” also strengthens a few. How? A Select few decide the campaigns financed by $ each & every representative & senator raises on behalf of a party. Per campaign finance “reform”, soliciting $ from unions, public interest groups, companies … on behalf of a party avoids corrupting the elected officials soliciting the $. Nonsense. The process is so vile many elected officials cite the desire to stop soliciting as a reason NOT to run for re-election.
Good point.
I list Citizens United as one of the cobblestones along the slide over a cliff of this Republic.
That one shoulda been called Citizens Outvoted.
Congressman Rosendale is exactly right! This is why Congress has the lowest approval rating of any body in government. It’s because we SEE them NOT representing us but representing big money.
I hope and pray the 20 are successful and prevent McCarthy from being speaker. It will be just more pork and give away’s without the people being represented.
Is “purple tie” still a thing?
“The illusion of freedom will continue as long as it’s profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery, they will pull back the curtains, they will move the tables and chairs out of the way and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theater.”
-Frank Zappa
While listening, had to chuckle each time Matt made an honest, intelligent point and there was 3 or 4 handclaps from the peanut gallery.
Because all the rest are getting paid to do nothing. And they don’t like him messing with the deal they’ve got.
I like when they all say there’s work to done.
👏 👏 👏 👏 👏
Who is the man to the left, who is sitting there with a look on his face like he’s just hearing the common folk speak for the first time?
Ive seen him in numerous videos there by the podium.
As light is being shined on the filth and corruption we the people are now seeing how the process functions or not functions. More importantly we are seeing how we the average family is being screwed every single day from Washington by the wealthy elite that believe they are so much better and above us.
May this process continue for months. Washington has come to a grinding halt, and we now see how the crap truly functions.
Wow.
The functions of congress, our votes and our representation have been hijacked.
The only rule is that there are no rules, but all the little hall monitors leap to their feet when he addresses ‘Maxine’ and a point of decorum is breached.
Kind of like weeping over mean tweets while the world circles the bowl.
There is no “fixing” the present processes / system. Need to start over.
The kind of hate speech will never be shown in the government classes in our education system.
Oh, thanks for posting that great fiery speech, Sundance! It made me so proud to be a Montanan who voted for Matt Rosendale!
Perhaps Matt Rosendale should be the next SOH.
It seems like it would be better to eliminate everyone in office and start over with never before elected people?
ostensibly that was the central reason for the demands to rules changes. without those rules changes, it really would not matter what NEW members would be elected. What nancy peloser did (arguably some of this goes all the way back to ryan and bonehead before him) was to essentially create a small group of house representative that literally control everything…what gets put on the floor, what motions will be allowed, and what motions will never be allowed. That WAS the fight, but as the SO CALLED MAGA MEMBERS are reducing PLUS the latest ploy to undercut the gazel numbers required (democrats skipping town), it would appear there isn’t a viable way forward that blocks mccarthy. At this point, I think even the most staunch MAGA MEMBER is reconsidering their blocking votes. It was a bold move, countered by a far more effective counter move. So there is no real play left anymore. The crying..that is what is left. jmho. I got red pilled today when I realized how well the democrats responded to creating the extraordinary move to secure mccarthy as speaker. This was something I seriously did not consider. But then, I am also not aware that members could simply not show up and that would drop the numbers required to seat the speaker. Anyone saying they understand quantum mechanics and house politics does NOT know QM and house politics. I obviously know neither…
what I do know is that einstein was right: it is definitely spooky action at a distance!
God Bless America
The American people have NO IDEA that their duly elected representatives (sometimes) are COMPLETELY NEUTERED and MEAN ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in the legislative process over the past decade. This is the WASHINGTON DISTRICT of CORRUPTION fully EXPOSED for their evil and criminal activity AGAINST the Constitution and the people which is what makes this government ILLEGITIMATE.
The “R”s are doing everyone a HUGE SERVICE in EXPOSING the CORRUPTION of both parties in our federal government and trying to return Congress to a common sense and Constitutional process. The globalists and marxists must be EXPUNGED!
