Representative Matt Gaetz (R-FL) is one of the primary voices against Representative Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) for the House speaker role. Gaetz appeared on Fox News to discuss the background issues with Kevin McCarthy and the lack of trust held by the group opposing him.
Additionally, Gaetz refuses to accept the criticism from former House republicans who created the crisis of confidence within the American electorate. When challenged about the specific criticism, Gaetz does a good job putting context to the failed republican efforts over the past 15 years. The video is a good encapsulation of the current status. WATCH (prompted to 02:29):

The House will reconvene at Noon Thursday to continue the process of trying to nominate a speaker.

Geatz and Boebert have impressed me. I’ve not cared for how either come across in the past, it’s just a style issue. Both have done a dang good job this week.
I’m also becoming a Luna Tic.
The moment chooses the man, not the other way around.
In some cases yes but it’s a very simplistic concept. I object to oversimplification.
Everything is simple when properly broken down. The fraudsters want you confused
Gaetz “style” is more Trump, then Trump. He’s Trumping Trump.
My opinion only.
“The only contest between divided friends should be who will dare farthest into the ranks of the common enemy.”
–Thomas Jefferson to John Hollins, 1811
Luna (and others) have yet to be sworn into their positions. They’re voting for the Speaker…clear violation of the constitution.
Do you see that as an issue at all?
They are part of the Republican caucus. Duly elected to the House they are doing their pre-service duty in selecting a Speaker. It’s politics not the Constitution.
The constitution is crystal clear in this case. Policies, as usual, is muddy water.
Yes the Constitution is crystal clear:
“The House of Representatives shall chuse their Speaker and other Officers” Article 1 Section 2.
“Each House may determine the Rules of its Proceedings” Article 1 Section 5
The election of the speaker of the House is a procedure that is governed by the rules decided upon by the House…exactly as the Constitution authorizes.
Many have yet to be sworn into their position as a member of congress.
Are they currently “Representatives”?
As far as I know, there aren’t currently ANY representatives. At the end of every Congress’ two year term, every seat is vacated. When the next congressional session begins, all of the newly elected representative must take the oath of office before they can be seated. The Constitution does not differentiate between elected and re-elected. For all practical purposes, on January 3, every seat in the House was filled by a brand new representative.
Under the rules passed by the previous congresses (made while they WERE all sworn in and official representatives…making those rules perfectly Constitutional), the incoming congress must elect a Speaker before they can be sworn in.
Therefore, your argument that they shouldn’t be voting for speaker because they aren’t representatives yet is a catch-22: They can’t vote for a speaker because they aren’t sworn-in representatives, but they can’t be sworn in until they elect a speaker.
Which means that, under your interpretation, when they instituted that rule, the House of Representatives basically abolished itself.
As enticing as that sounds, I’m pretty sure we’ve had a functioning (at least as well as any government body can be considered “functioning”) House of Representatives up until this point.
The Constitution is the supreme law of the land and takes precedence over politics or tradition.
The speaker of the house position is not a party position, but is a constitutionally prescribed position.
The members of the House of Representatives could be sworn by the incumbent clerk of the house before voting on the speaker so that they are official members of the House before voting.
The incumbent clerk of the house is the person who officiates over the speaker vote.
U.S. Code of Law stipulates that the House select a speaker before the members are sworn in, but that just seems backwards to me as the speaker is being selected by people who aren’t even officially members of the House yet.
Perhaps this is done to force them to select a speaker before doing anything else.

https://thehill.com/homenews/house/3798410-why-lawmakers-can-vote-for-house-speaker-before-taking-their-oath-of-office/
Hey, thanks for that. I thought it was just a house rule, but apparently it’s actually a law that they can’t be sworn in until after they elect a speaker. Good info.
The Position of Speaker of House in not in the Constitution
The speaker of the house is prescribed by Article 1, Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution:
“The House of Representatives shall chuse their Speaker and other Officers; and shall have the sole Power of Impeachment.”

oh I love that! she is my new rep and I am damned proud of her!!!
Exactly. They come across a bit stilted typically but they have substance behind them.
The establishment (people like Gowdy, Gingrich, Karl Rove, all the pseudo conservative media folks at Fox, McCarthy, McConnell and the other uniparty R’s) don’t understand at ALL what many Americans think. We are VERY worried about the spending that is bankrupting the USA, ludicrously radical cultural and social engineering, uneconomic and damaging climate change plans, etc–not to mention spying on Americans and the Uniparty push to control us. Despite a disappointing mid-term, more people are aware of the game than they realize. Heck, the guy that installed our new furnace last week is well aware.
Good for Gaetz, Boebert, Good, Norman and a lot of the other resisters. This is how our “precious democracy” is supposed to work–vigorous debate.
And the border. The republicans are getting ready to do a deal on amnesty with Brandon and the Dems.
Biden and McConnell were all cozy over new jobs in Kentucky.
New jobs for the ~100K afghans or the 6M+ new illegal alien squatters?
It’s labor ugly. Local businessman has bookkeeping/call center labor from India. He’s been in business for 30+ years and can’t find local help. He pays $4.00/hr for each Indian employee. Guatemalan employee works in shop, happy to have a job shows up to work every day and he is paid 16/hr. Meanwhile his rent is skyrocketing. Same dollars paid out but no money for employees, the landlord/gov. is now the beneficiary.
He can’t find local help for a call center or he can’t find local help willing to take $4/hr?
Sorry but I don’t buy this crap anymore.
I agree with the above comment by Billie.
I have applied to hundreds of jobs over the past six months for employers who have been complaining that they can’t find help, yet none of these employers want to hire me. It’s ridiculous.
These employers complain about not being able to find help, yet gladly reject the many competent and capable people who apply to work for them.
I work as a user acceptance tester (UAT). This is non-technical work that simply tests that software works as intended from the end user’s perspective.
Any non-technical person who knows how to use a computer can do this work, yet many employers have oddly typecast this work as Asian Indian work and prefer to hire Asian Indian immigrants for this work over American citizens.
Even more odd is the fact that the Asian Indian immigrants who work onsite here in America usually get paid the same amount as their American colleagues, so there isn’t even a financial incentive to hire them over Americans.
I think employers prefer Asian Indian immigrants over American citizens as they have more control over employees on work visas who can’t quit as easily as it jeopardizes their work visas.
There are also many employers who prefer illegal or offshore workers over American workers as they are cheaper. It’s also easier to exploit illegal workers as they don’t have any legal protections.
Wasn’t there a program that subsidized companies that hired Indian immigrants for tech-related work? I believe it is expired…or is it? Just because a deadline was reached doesn’t mean a program ended. They siphon money from all over.
If your business model requires foreign slave labor to be successful, it’s a failure & it should fail.
If that Guatemalan worker was working in Guatemala, his rent would be far lower & so would every American citizen’s.
No American has a right to operate a business at the expense of the taxpayer & that’s exactly what they’re doing. Taxpayers are subsidizing the lives of their foreign workforce at the expense of their fellow countrymen.
It’s abhorrent & it’s morally wrong.
Yep.
They dusted off the 2014 bill that got Eric Cantor primaried out, added some more pork and there ya go.
“Heck, the guy who installed our new furnace last week is aware.”
You might be surprised how much that guy makes in a year. If he’s union, he probably got all his training through apprenticeship programs and doesn’t owe a dime on student loan debt either.
They know what we think.
It doesn’t matter to the uniparty.
Unipartity doesn’t represent us.
They will throw us a bone every now and then.
According to the official record, only six Republicans voted against the 5,600 page Omnibus/Covid-relief bill that no one had a chance to read:
Marsha Blackburn (R-TN)
Ted Cruz (R-TX)
Ron Johnson (R-WI)
Mike Lee (R-UT)
Rand Paul (R-KY)
Rick Scott (R-FL)
It’s a shame that only 6 out of a majority voted against this bill.
You listed senators.
And this is why I did not want to vote for Rubio but the alt was worse, maybe. Thank you Rick Scott. Rubio needs to be primaried.
with you on that one!
I’m with you on Rubio… 👍
He originally ran as “Tea Party” candidate… as soon as he got to DC, he joined group of 8 and became part of swamp..👎
🇺🇸💪😀👍
The Immediate Flip is the exact thing Sundance is warning us about DeSantis. He voted for TPP, he is supported by UniParty, and the topper is the swearing in picture with Jeb! behind him.
Scott has really started to come out of the swamp lately. Rubio is completely emerged and needs to go. SHould have been primiaried last time.
Excellent, yes. Our founders created a very contentious system specifically to ensure thorough examination of every issue and offer checks to tyranny. The establishment has bypassed these safeguards by promoting group think and an insistence that they move quickly and without control. Tyrants love this.
Bring back dueling!
They duel at dawn and I’m up early – I’ll be there! 🙂
Excellent, well worded, and ACCURATE post.
Yesterday my carpet cleaner stated he was “for Trump” and it wasn’t a racist thing. He is African-American. He even got into why Hillary Clinton needed to be in jail. He said if you go to work, you are for Trump. If you sit at home, you are for Biden. My carpet cleaner is knowledgeable about a lot of the swamp.
Imagine the swill and filth you would live in if you ran your home as our elected officials run our government.
The double standard needs to come to an end!
It’s even worse than that.
The elected officials, of BOTH PARTIES, drive us deeper and faster into destructive debt.
Yet, they all prosper exponentially when they get to DC.
They KNOW how to budget and handle money responsibility FOR THEMSELVES.
They REFUSE to do it for the Nation.
Meanwhile, instead of investigations starting which would at the very least put pressure on the media to cover the invasion on the border and Biden/Myorkas to do something different, thousands more flood in. Wasting time is what it is at this point.
“investigations … which would at the very least put pressure on the media to cover the invasion on the border ”
LOL. No it wouldn’t. The media would just call the investigations racist and then ignore them. Much better off squeezing enforceable concessions with real world implications out of McCarthy than hoping for positive coverage from Fake News.
Guess it was inevitable that all the sins of the prior RINO politicians would be dumped onto the head of whatever Republican was going to be standing at the head of the line to be the next Speaker of House and made to be the scapegoat for whatever sins people feel they need to dump onto him, or her. It was a group effort to get us into this position. Guess it is what it is; hope people will be happy with whoever ends up as Speaker.
One thing’s for sure, the RINO’s are already putting out puff pieces declaring that Trump no longer has any voice anymore in Republican politics. Gaetz did his job well.
Why is Trump endorsing McCarthy?
Easy. Trump is endorsing McCarthy to make it much more difficult for McCarthy to solicit votes from his friends the Democrats. By Trump endorsing him, any Democrat that helped McCarthy would be scourged by the extremists Trump hating voters of their districts.
It’s a genius move. He’s not helping McCarthy, he’s locking him down.
Excellent point.
<COUGH!> I spit up my coffee on that one. Are you serious? That’s some serious 10-dimensional chess there. What’s next, Trump endorses Biden?
agreed. While President Trump is a very smart man, when pundits start throwing around metaphysical dimensional chess strategies, it reminds me of “trusting the plan.”
Most everyone “trusts a plan”. The plan “trusted” determines one’s view of what is going on…
“Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.” – Mike Tyson
LOL
You have to admit, the Dimbase is rabidly anti-Trump. They support the opposite of Trump’s position reflexively. Trump knows this, and uses this all the time.
I’m not sure if this is what Trump is doing, but we know he always thinks strategically. I think Corvair’s and other’s theory is the best I have heard.
It’s chess not 3d or 10d chess. A fair chess player can think 3 moves ahead. A Grandmaster can think 20+ moves ahead which equates to 3 d chess in an average player’s abilities.
Actually I was eating & drinking when I read Fan’s theory – didn’t spit anything out and actually thinks its a good one! Time will tell for sure….
Exactly!!
I’ve read this a few times lately and it’s an interesting concept. I can’t fathom he would do that, but, regardless what I think, his endorsement would certainly ward off any D vote.
I think he gets backed into a position of not having a choice. Cursed McC was the lead horse to endorse. In fact the only only as Jim J repeatedly said no. I think he endorsed cursed McC because he thinks they’re going to win and he want’s to solidify a good or better working relationship. Thing is that approach has proved not to work, a primary example being Sanctimoneous.
Maybe PDJT thinks cursed McC is palpable enough tht he can mold him, but Mcc has proven he’ll blow with the Dem wind at a moments notice. This time, I do not back his choice. This is the hill to die on and Gaetz is doing what has to be done. It’s time to burn it down and I am grateful he is never going to vote for cursed McC. Notice it takes someone who doesn’t need/want ‘their’ money.
darn, I was wondering if that was the case thank you for articulating it so well!
Precisely! Some have been saying this for days.
Goodness me folks this is Big League Politics.
Why is it so hard to figure out that Gaetz is a proxy for trump? None of this would be happening if not for trump. Read a book.
The leading anti-McCarthy voice is a proxy for pro-McCarthy Trump, in the McCarthy dispute?
Perfect example of cognitive dissonance, delivered with hubris.
(Or maybe a psyoperator post.)
Why is Gaetz on Fox News? Think he’s part of the theater?
Why is Tucker on FOX news.
I do not watch any network news, period but, they do have a huge audience and Congressman Gaetz is one of the very few that remained truly loyal to President Trump.
There are many that have no idea McCarthy and Pelosi are just passing the baton back and forth.
It is all window dressing but McCarthy has no intention of throwing some obstacles at all.
The same Gaetz that makes masonic handshakes with Rod Rosenstein?
First of all Freemasons have many “Lodges” in many countries and one two of their founding principles are no discussion of politics or religion.
George Washington, FDR, Clark Gable are a few Freemasons in history.
I can find nothing credible linking Matt Gaetz and RR but, so what if they are both Freemasons.
This is not a demonic, political deep state organization.
There are Lodges across the United States 🇺🇸 and the founding principles is organized, thought provoking discussions and broad ideas.
I do not believe there is definitive proof the two belong to the same Lodge and furthermore even if they are Freemasons.
Please send links, but I do want to reiterate that to judge, dismiss“cancel” someone because they are a Freemason seems like the same as doing so if they are both Jewish, Catholic, Mormon, and/or vegetarian.
Within all the above examples there are extreme examples of characteristics of these religions and even vegetarians but, the same can be said of a Freemason.
I did want to clarify from my limited knowledge of Freemasons females are not allowed, but that does not mean the group is misogynistic necessarily.
Many organizations are all male or female and it’s just a characteristic of it.
Some not so much that way.
Bottom line I would never jump to conclusions about a person’s character over several alleged handshake with another.
Many antidotes regarding Freemasons indicate it’s a “secret handshake” so secret 🤫 to me would indicate it’s not an overtly, obvious gesture Freemasons do when in public.
Agree. Trump is of course telling Gaetz to support McCarthy, but with a *wink* and *nod*. This is a deal, nothing more.
Maybe he realizes he needs the support of the establishment GOP this time around. With the Dem states doing mass mailing and harvested ballots any GOP candidate will need every single bit of support possible. Even DeSantis sees that. We can’t throw the baby out with the bathe water. Yes the MAGA folks need to steer but we will need the establishment money and members. It’s just reality.
Mark,
Are you saying that if you can’t drain the swamp, join it?
The cognitive dissonance on display in this thread is head-spinning.
Have you been asleep for the past decade? The establishment will stab maga in the back as they have ALWAYS done. They prefer democrats. We do not need the establishment we need to destroy the establishment.
“Support from the establishment GOP”? You have got to be shi**ing me. Are you referring to them eliminating the Tea Party or helping the Democrats to steal an election? Conservatives don’t need that kind of “support “, money or members.
This.
Best unanswered question so far.
Why is he pushing the “vaccines”?
The People are now immoral, corrupted, and godless. THAT is the problem!!@
If what you say, Guest4ever, is true, the the Commumists have done their job. Not all people are as you say and when we speak, we are often shunned.
Immoral – well, IMO the legalization of drugs once deemed illegal can be #1 suspect in immoral behavior. I recently had a friend whose sick husband started walking in the Hemp shops and buying up gummies and weed. She told me that they polish it up to make you think you are buying something really special. Well, because he is borderline dementia and sick other ways too, it flipped his brain and her sexually inactive husband became a lunatic and started acting out sexual fantasies and there wasn’t much she could do. She was trapped with a sick man who thought the drugs were working for him. Well, don’t we have a hyper sexual epidemic on our hands in this country? It’s like she was raped and don’t we have perverts all over the place after little kids too?
No one wants to talk about this because the pleasure of sex while using THC has been in the closet for decades. I knew this from my college days but with today’s population taking more and more prescription drugs, aging, and many with multiple health issues, the use of such drugs is causing BIG problems. Of course, the government was happy to legalize drug use across the board because of the tax dollars it brings in. Shame on this country.
Corrupt – Do I really need to explain how greed and sold out politicians have paved a way to corruption. We had plenty of corrupt people back in the mafia days, but the mafia has been made to look tame by what goes on in the political arenas across this nation on a local, state, and national level. Think about elections….they think that once the Chinese gain total control they will have monuments built for them but only the gulag or hanging awaits those who love Communism.
Godless – well, I guess all these churches who don’t really believe in sin make some people happy but BEWARE. NO GOD = Communism. Worship only your supreme rulers! Get ready.
Did you listen to the video? Per Gaetz, McCarthy has been in leadership for 14 years. He’s not only bringing the baggage of the prior leadership with him, he supported it.
This started because McCarthy dismissed the list of concessions that were put forward by this group. He thought that he could threaten and bully a vote.
You are correct.
Exactly, McCarthy was cocky and thought he could BULLY them, and they would cave. He expected them to fallin line, just as he has for 14 years.
God bless Donald Trump…but he’s really done some dumb things. You’d think he’d know whose side McCarthy was on by now.
I don’t think gaetz job was to make Trump look bad. President Trump could have backed the AF Republicans but he stood behind mcfail. That was his choice. And all the sins were piled on mcfail because he is in the thick of it all. He was a young gun like Paul ryan and eric Cantor. They are the epitome of uniparty.
So we should just do whatever the RINOs want even if its the same crap that got us into this position? That seems counterproductive. And the RINOs and Fake News were going to slander Trump no matter what happens. People need to develop a spine and ignore the same old attacks from the Uniparty and their lackeys in the media.
My spidey sense never trusted McCarthy. Now the 20 or so in opposition think they can change him if he would only accept some new rules. A lot of failed marriages start that way.
If they can get get some concessions on things that true conservatives care about them I’m good with that. Just from the numbers it’s doubtful a true patriot could ever be elected speaker with all those Rino’s. I believe that’s what AOC did when they were electing speaker last time. I’m confused by all those saying McCarthy is the best we will get so let’s just vote for him with no concessions or anything because Trump endorsed him. The man has proven not work for us. Battered conservative is the only thing that makes sense. I’d rather burn it down and have more masks drop then literally continue on with the status quo. It’s getting us nowhere, we have thousands of patriots still locked up with with no one in the fed to stand up for them.
Getting concessions and getting concessions implemented are two different animals.
Now that we have had 2 full days of “Airing of the Grievances”, can we now move on to “Feats of Strength”?
Ah yes, get back to the path to tyranny
No
Good morning, Nancy.
They need to kill him off. No deals.
A better candidate will rise up.
Indeed.
In some ways this almost seems like a couple hundred reps are being held hostage somehow.
If only it were possible to divine if there’s some kind of Machiavellian mechanism that supersedes Congress and directs their ways . . .
Best possible outcome.
Ben Shapiro is the RINO writer and commenter. Never a moment where Ben can’t jump fast enough for a RINO. A co-worker who claims to be conservative, Loves Ben Shapiro. Loves his crappy website. This co-worker, who again claims to be very conservative, wants Mitt Romney to run again. Mittens is his favorite Republican. It tells me all I need to know about my co-worker’s conservatism and all I need to know about Ben.
Good ‘ol Mittens “Piere Delecto” Romney. Saw him standing behind Desanctimonious at his swearing in ceremony this week.
He was also working the room yesterday on CSPAN during the we don’t want McCarthy but Uniparty will force him down our throat vote yesterday.
He’s not a conservative. He’s just a moron. Sorry to be so blunt but you can’t fix stupid and he is clearly stupid.
You don’t need to apologize for your directness. He boggles my mind sometimes, that’s for sure.
He’s a Neocon. Loves foreign wars and Israel more than the American people.
I’m beyond sick and tired of “holding my nose and voting RINO” because that’s all the republicans intend to give people, while they claim to be conservative.
They lie.
I voted for Romney for president because there was no other viable option.
That is the design of the Republican Party. It is deliberate.
I want my 2012 vote for Romney BACK.
Romney isn’t anywhere NEAR conservative.
He’s a democrat without actually being a member of the democrat party.
He’s the very definition of a RINO.
Pierre Delecto…..
I agree. It’s why it’s laughable my co-worker calls himself a conservative.
Shapiro abhors Donald Trump and his supporters even more but he has to put up a thin veil of congeniality to keep his ad revenue going.
Exactly. McCarthy is delaying the inevitable. Time to hang it up, “Young Gun”.
Anyone or anything that throws sand in the gears of the rino uniparty is a good thing.
Sand hasn’t worked in the past. We need large stones.
Let’s toss Nancy into the gears; she’s carried around the two largest stones in Congress for two years now.
Yeah! There’s quite a few folks in Washington that could benefit from a set of large stones!
Or just more sand…
None of this really matters any more.
The US ship is sinking, the Uniparty is helping it sink while looting as much as they can and making their places in the few lifeboats.
All noise and distraction, bread and circuses to keep the commoners occupied while the shots and energy strangulation decimate them on the path to vassal state under CCP.
All I can say is that when you are trying to take out the king, you better deal him a mortal blow, else he will come back at you with a vengeance.
They took out our King…nothing happened to them because of people like Kevin McCarthy. I’m sure Gaetz is willing to take whatever crap comes his way. He’s been taking it for years already.
Gaetz has held up against the storm of Uniparty/Deep State attacks.
Death threats and smear campaigns as well.
Agree wholeheartedly with this, thank you and thanks to the handful of reps with a spine or conscious.
My respect for Gaetz keeps growing.
Nice to see a SPINE in the republicans every now and then.
Even though the establishment HATES when there is a spine in their party.
Fox News is doing all it can to dismiss and demean the House members that want McCarthy to go away. The only thing Fox News is doing is driving people away from their gaslighting network.
The Paul Ryan network…at work.
I left after they called Arizona in 2020.
When I saw Trace Gallagher in the above video, the first thing that came to mind was Sandra saying, Trace we called it!
ME too. I thought the same thing. That is the moment I left Fox, except for watching Maria.
I left when they delayed the calls in 2016. Never looked back.
Corrected
Yep, they called AZ, 15 minutes after the polls closed. Even after weeks of counting, Trump allegedly lost by 7,700.
It was totally rigged!
You, me my wife, and three of our President Trump supporting friends.
We are Canadians living in Canada and even we can smell D.C. from here.
Fox is morphing before your very eyes. They feel empowered by their phony ratings and have accelerated their hatred of MAGA . They have lured conservatives into their web of deceit and hope their subtle brain washing is working.
DH watches them while I read CTH . What I “hear” from the other room he doesn’t see.
Matt Gaetz is…awake.
For the NPCs on this side who can’t seem to work out they are being manipulated again and are all in on the placed fads.
“In 1997, Donalds was arrested for marijuana distribution; the charges were dropped as part of a pre-trial diversion program. In 2000, he pleaded guilty to a felony bribery charge as part of a scheme to defraud a bank, which was expunged after he entered the Florida House”
Daddy bush was CIA — did some nasty stuff in his cover a texas oil man. Baby bush had alcohol and probably drug problems in his “younger-self days. Jebby of low energy had coke problems. Bill rapist chiton did rape on WH desk to an intern. Barry obambam and big mike are almost unspeakably depravedinelligible, unqualified, and stupid as a rocks without teleprompters and ghost writers: controllable/manipulated too–value system and empathy levels lower the stalin’s. Just got confirmation recently on Johnson in the KKK.
Don’t get me started on hillbag.
Very rare to find successful moral “men” in politics since, these days, qualification appears to be criminal tendency, facility at lying and deception, and near pathological self interest.
All evidence points to Donalds finding a footing and living a life of values and responsibility — look forward to working with him and HOLDING HIM ACCOUNTABLE. Same goes for Trump — help and hold accountable an apparently moral and responsible leader.
Many good men out there who rapidly improved over their behavior “mode” in the 17-25 timeframe, good women too.
Check out some of the Apostles history pre-Jesus meeting.
Men transform for the better and for the worse — only the transformations for the worse appear to be going into politics.
Needs to change.
BTW
Trump needs to be in WH asap…
brandon needs to be held accountable for treason, hobbs for election theft, and 3/4 house and senate resign for sedition on J6 2020… all FBI and CIA fired some prosecuted for felony violation of rights, some for treason.
Its only going to get more difficult from here even as it gets better — accountability is like that, responsibility is work.
Regardless of outcome in house speaker, you will need the constitutional militia before this current era of corruption can be declared “over”.
The quite voting for establishment chosen candidates. Tough to get there but we need to keep trying
I don’t care that he was arrested for weed. Weed. Who cares. Seriously. This is supposed to be America, the land of the free…it’s a darn plant. Anyone who drinks a lick of alcohol can step aside with their comments.
That’s your focuse- weed and bribery.
Meanwhile: Nancy, Adam, Miss Graham, Mitch, Kevin, Obama, Hunter, Joe, Jim Biden, Hillary, Warnock, etc.
Please, weed. LOL.
So he was 19 years old for the first offense and 22 for the second. Yes, he was an adult but obviously had some “growing up” to do.
I don’t even tell my own kids everything I did when I was that age.
People learn from their mistakes and grow and hopefully change for the better.
PS – “pleading” to a charge doesn’t mean it was “proven in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt”.
I always take those type of “convictions” with a grain of salt. Sorry, but I have seen just too much of how prosecutors AND defense attorneys work together to “settle” things so they can go on to their next gig. It’s almost as bad as the 2 wings of the congressbird.
If you looked at my past life many would shun me too.
Let’s go with Cruz, McConnell, McCarthy, Ryan etc.etc.
They are all so very virtuous and all.
Give me a genuinely reformed individual with real life experience over these Harvard types.
The sociopathic scum that permeate politics.
Cheers!
Perhaps Trump is using the Bolton strategy on McCarthy. Expose to criticism to move the MAGA chess piece. Not sure they can trust McCarthy not to put in a skiv after making promises
Sundance & everyone, check out this Twitter post (about Kevin McCarthy) from Dr. Robert Malone:

The unelected World Economic Forum, a trade organization representing the interests of the thousand largest companies in the world, has already chosen and announced the next leader of the US House of Representatives.

Kevin McCarthy
Majority Leader of the US House of Representatives.7:37 AM · Jan 4, 2023
So, McCarthy is NOW “promising” to do what they have been asking since day 1. NOW, he wants to compromise and make a deal.
I say no. Sorry you had your chance. McCarthy will say one thing and do another. Hannity is a buffoon. Biden’s comment on the whole process is a joke (Joe must not have a mirror anywhere).
The Dems pandering and pushing for McCarthy in the background- that’s a clear signal. Not just Dems but the who behind the D: Waters, AOC, Schiff, etc.
Crenshaw’s comments, calling them names. Crenshaw can go suck it to.
Absolutely. When Maxine Waters is pushing for McCarthy what more do you need to tell you he is the wrong choice?
McCarthy has been through this before in 2015. https://radiopatriot.net/2023/01/05/looking-back-we-see-history-repeating/
There is also this, preferred by WEF. https://www.weforum.org/people/kevin-mccarthy
No one endorsed by the WEF should receive our support. They are the enemy taking down the western world and killing off the middle class so they can rule over us all.
Nothing new or shocking out of these proceedings.
We haven’t had a speaker in decades. We’ve had half men do the bidding of the billionaire, donor, and Wall Street class to their advantage and our decline.
The squabbling and infighting over who will wield the Speaker’s gavel is valuable for a single reason: it demonstrates the grim resolve of the Establishment to retain its grip on how Congressional business is conducted. The Speaker controls Congress procedurally, and can thus determine Congress’s agenda and priorities. An Establishment Speaker, which is what McCarthy would be, would keep the conservatives in the GOP from rocking the boat without undue fuss. McCarthy’s determination to have the gavel is founded at least as much on that insistence as it is on any personal ambition. His rice bowl is as threatened by the possibility of a conservative uprising as anyone else’s.
How about Gaetz for Speaker. It has to be one of the original 5.
One strong reminder from this is it only takes a few very brave people to change history.
The stage for all of this was set when all of the traitors and backstabbers emerged in the light of day in recent times as if NOTHING could be done to challenge their wickedness…nothing could be done to them…they believed they were invincible.
That was their strategic mistake.
Now we see even the Amazon gorilla being forced to get rid of 18,000 people. The mighty can fall and fall HARD.
The dancing man…very powerful video that proves your point. It only takes 1 ti stand up to change things
The McCarthy/ DC mentality extends to the states as well. Here in Texas where Republicans have the majority in all Branches, the Speaker of the House, Dade Phelan, believes in placing Democrats in charge of Committees. It’s an effective way to stifle unwanted legislation desired by Voters.
https://texasscorecard.com/state/texas-gop-to-focus-on-banning-democrat-chairs-in-rules-fight/
In normal times, McCarthy would be an okay Speaker to oversee the administration of the House. We are not in normal times and that is the problem.
The House Republican caucus has about 40 members that see this battle as an epic one that need warriors. About 40 more are administrative state overseers that see their job as being the source of funding and support to the permanent government, sort of elected super clerks.
The remainder, about 140, are movable and will vote however they feel will cement their position for the next election. They simply want to keep the job and the perks and will go along with whichever side they see as the winning one. Right now that is the McCarthy wing, but there are cracks around the edges while the center is holding.
This vote is a siege. The warriors know that the McCarthy band can not hold forever. The pundits know it. The party leaders know it. They all depend on it holding. Their excessive pearl clutching is their fear of a collapse of support form those that just are in the middle and currently leaning McCarthy. When the warrior wing can convince the middle that their political fortunes are safe, votes will begin to move.
That is where the danger lies. That is how we got Paul Ryan. He was the compromise before that everyone could get behind. There was a challenge to Boener’s leadership and McCarthy was in the middle of that debacle as well.
Paul Ryan’s obviously reluctant and condition-filled bid to replace John Boehner as Speaker of the House received a significant boost last night with the support, or at least the acquiescence, of one of the major groups that has been opposing both Boehner and Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (Outside the Beltway, 11/22/2015).
It appears that McCarthy was hoping for a similar capitulation from the Freedom Caucus that has not happened. Maybe they learned a lesson in 2015.

Well said by Gaetz. Insanity is doing the same thing again & again & expecting different results.
McCarthy began his CONgressional career under Crybaby Boehner in 2007. 2 years later, he began his CONgressional leadership career, also under Crybaby Boehner. McCarthy is literally Boehner 4.0.
I’ll stand next to Gaetz.
At this point, it would be best to abolish the Speaker of the House position. It gives too much power to one person. All representatives should have equal power.
Thank God we have these few willing to fight and stand up to the unbelievable crowd of people who want the swamp to continue. They are truly hero’s.
DO you notice all the FOX pantloads pushing for Kevin McCarthy – FOX scum wants to protect the swamp, just like they protected the STOLEN ELECTIONS- Not any mention of the 2000 MULES documentary allowed. Ratings Deaath is all FOX deserves.
Tucker has not as of last night. ONLY 1 that I’m aware that has said, GO Gaetz….
Everyone else as Fox has crucified and trashed Gaetz and Co….EVERYONE….
Not that it affects me. Other than Tucker and not every night, I don’t watch ANY of those shows any longer. Stopped Hannity years back, stopped watching Fox network b/c of Juan Wms, Geraldo, Karl Rove….Stopped watching Jesse Watters b/c he always has to have Rove, Brian Kilmeade. (listened to him and Dan Crenshaw obliterate Matt Gaetz on Tues)…
Not all, Tucker did not push for McCarthy in fact he exposed him months ago as Frank Luntz’s roommate.
If new media, like Twitter, are this compromised, can you imagine how compromised the legacy Media, like fox news are? It’s all controlled by the swamp.
Paul Ryan is in charge:
Paul D. Ryan – foxcorporation
What four years of Trump proved is, beyond anyone’s doubt, people in the United States can and will achieve amazing things if FEDGOV will get out of the way. I ain’t touting lazyfair. I’m asking for a little common sense from FEDGOV. Trump displays the great power of common sense and everybody in DC hates him for it.
Nobody I know cares a damn who the effin house speaker is. What they do care about is how much gas and groceries cost. Everybody knows FEDGOV is behind the gouge. For a long, long time Republicans have been as much a part of that gouging as Democrats. I’m sick of it. Kevin McCarthy is not a gentleman.
It is time for us all to care because of the power brokering that goes on. Look at what McConnell did to us in the Senate. Look at what Ryan refused to do when he was speaker. Who is speaker is something we should all care about if we want the profligate spending and corruption to be reduced.
The impression I have from the general attitude is that people know big changes are needed BUT those changes won’t happen when an individual here or there is taken down, replaced, indicted. The whole system is protecting itself now. All the faceless, nameless bureaucrats are as complicit in the criminal coverups as any big name politician or judge. Clean it out to the walls. Leave no stone unturned.
I fully support Matt Gaetz and this is one time where President Trump needs to listen to the MAGA few who are desperately fighting to save America.
NOW, for all to see, WHO are the Establishment, GOPe, RINO, dem-lites.
Most we suspected and knew. Rove, Gowdy, Baier, Hannity, Ingraham, Levin, Newt……
Tucker ONLY one I’ve heard express TEAM Gaetz…and not trashing him.
Unsure why Trump said yea. Easy to sit it out. Bet he wishes he had stayed out and certainly not doubled down again yesterday. Same for Don, Jr. Way too involved in calling out ‘the rebels’.
I heard O’Reilly yesterday on radio and I’m not a great fan of his. But, he made sense. Said spending under BHO was MOST ever in 2Y, like $2-3T….Biden, 1st 2Y, $6T and growing and THIS FACION has said, STOP, NO MORE DEBT and they are standing their ground. Therefore, I SUPPORT them even more. $6 TRILION spent in 2Y….
McCarthy knows nothing but govt, across the aisle politics, UniParty…..he’s been shown, there IS another side.
He BEST get on that side or join hands with them and make a stronger, better party.
WE The People ARE DONE with this crap, this elect us, we forget you mentality. WE FOLLOW THE $$$….we get rich, you get poor and poorer cause we don’t give one dam**. See Tucker last night, gas/utility costs ALONE, up 20-30-40%……just HEATING costs…not food, health care, etc….WE GET POORER…and DC/Capitol HIll/Politicians/WH/Biden DON’T GIVE ONE DAM***
BURN IT DOWN, preferably with them all in it….
Now that is how to conduct a respectful interview, thank you Trace, Hannity can suck it, even Brett Bair treated Lauren with respect when he interviewed her the other day. Matt Gaetz you do not represent my district but I live in FL and you certainly represent me, hold the line. I love the way he knocked out Gowdy in one swing. Another swamp dweller. This is revealing EVERYONE’S true colors and I love it, I believe this is a Trump/Gaetz plan but what do I know? I am starting to think Jim Jordan is swamp because he doesn’t want it may be because he knows his true colors would be exposed. I hope this goes on for weeks.
I don’t think Jordan is swamp. I just thnk he really wants to follow through on all of the investigating he has done. He has done a lot regarding the FBI and spying. I am wrong a lot so…..take it with a grain of salt.
I agree with you.
I respect the honesty of admitting to being wrong, and everyone is at some point in time.
Few admit it.
Merely by telling the truth and pointing out the obvious, Gaetz has become the prime target of all anti-MAGA Republicans in the House.
With the exception of Tucker – Fox “news” including Hannity, Rove, Gowdy, et al is the Republican version of CNN and MSNBC.
God help us.
I think Matt and Trump are talking and mapping strategy with MTG and others behind the scenes. There is always something going on besides the CIA influenced MS news.
Could be.
Hold the line, Patriots.
Fantastic responses to Fox’s energetic support of McCarthy.
Well done Gaetz! 💪✝️💪
this looks like a real solid start tearing down and rebuilding a constitutional republic I hope these people have the stones to follow through.
Holy cow…. pretty convincing
The conventional RINO thinking seems to be, support Kevin McCarthy and business as usual or you’re aiding Chuck Schumer and the Democrats. That’s a false choice and Matt Gaetz knows it.
My pick would be Byron Donalds.
As usual, the “establishment” is trying to set the rules and select their “hey boy”.. the usual suspects are out there crooning for McCarthy. WE THE PEOPLE are tired of the uniparty crap and it seems WE THE PEOPLE elected some folks that want to get a more conservative and fundamental Representative Senate Leadership in place. CALL?EMAIL your Senators folks. the Conservatives need to stay strong and the old guard needs to get in line. his may be the last shot at saving the Greatest Country ever known.
Those who are members of a Republican Club can play a role and this is how:
Contact your club President and ask him to obtain a statement from your House Rep to be distributed among the membership regarding the Speakership, the Freedom Caucus and Kevin McCarthy.
These contacts will have weight that individual contacts lack.
Make it a great day!
“Spearmint Rhino is a chain of strip clubs that operates venues throughout the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia.”
Kevee – Skank
The 20+ rebels fighting to restrain government are better Republicans than the 18 rinos who recently voted for the Omnibus and other big government supporters masquerading as conservatives.
Lawdy I hate Faux news. What a moronic bunch of fakery and leading questions. It’s obvious who the Murdochs want as speaker. Luntz’s boyfriend.
I spent the day yesterday contacting the offices of these brave patriots to encourage them in this fight.
I also contacted my USELESS rep, Diana Harshbarger, who rode in on President Trump’s MAGA coattails in order to get elected.
I let her staffer know in no uncertain terms what we expect of her and that a primary challenge is definitely in her future.
We have read and learned all about the precinct strategy. 😡
The ‘Anyone buy McCarthy’ strategy isn’t going to work – to many are willing to vote for him. Gaetz didn’t think through where this would go-Donalds is not serious, and Jordan seems to want nothing of it.
The key issue is that he’s Kevin McCarthy.
You know she’s “over the target” when:
MSNBC host spars with Lauren Boebert, suggests she’s seeking attention: ‘You’ve never been on with me before – 5 Jan 2023
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/msnbc-host-spars-with-lauren-boebert-suggests-shes-seeking-attention-you-ve-never-been-on-with-me-before/ar-AA15ZGPx

And to think they NEARLY prevented her from winning her election.

Hannity & Lauren Boebert’s Speaker Spat Gets HEATED
The Charlie Kirk Show – January 4, 2023
At 2:28, UniParty Hannity points out that “By the way, more than half of the Freedom Caucus supports McCarthy”:
https://rumble.com/v23y2l0-hannity-and-lauren-boeberts-speaker-spat-gets-heated.html
Two things are co-occurring:
First, there are finally Reps brave enough to stand up and push back. Matt, Byron, and Lauren are the three most vocal.
Second, the legacy media’s ability to manipulate the narrative in one direction, for the MOST part, has been destroyed.
Twitter’s change in ownership, the rise of Truth, Tucker Carlson’s willingness to be open (with receipts),Gettr, and other alternative media are getting the truth out. And in real-time those pushing back can see they have real support from the people. I’m sure Twitter still has issues, but I’ve heard from a friend his experience now is vastly different, with a few hiccups.
I believe the longer this goes, the more we see votes either disappear via “present” (cowards) or start flipping to ?
I think if Jordan said Ok, it’s a done deal.
Not Trump, just someone who has made a bunch of posts and often funny memes supporting him.
The look on the Fox reporter’s face tells it all. Geatz did a good job.
ask yourself this, why are democrats so invested on getting McCarty elected as speaker?
again and again Gratz is my kind of congressman,
l like Him a lot,
I like Matt Gaetz.
In the eyes of this cynic and skeptic….
When watching, listening and reading words of modern politicians as well as when evaluating …always separate the words spoken at the moment from past words, voting record as well as actions taken or in action during critical moments in time.
ALL politicians often achieve passing grades by design or accidentally in a single category at discrete points in time but very rarely score well consistently in multiple categories simultaneously. The balance of good moments vs failed moments, especially in critical situations and simultaneously, is becoming the metric.
The 20-40 Republican hold outs (what ever the real number is) in the House speaker vote are among those with a set of heavily mixed results that falls somewhat positive…let’s see what they purchase with the holdout.
The old saying …”Perfect is the Enemy of Good” has come to the forefront.
There is also another saying that fits … “Time waits for nobody”
To President Trump who has been bashed for the past 7+ years … McCarthy appears, from his experience during those 7+ years, to be the only “good” in the current situation. One can sit around waiting for perfect or the “better answer” while the decision is made without them with a results that cannot be mitigated.
I have no idea what you are saying. Could you be more concise.

Say What?
“Perfect is the Enemy of Good”
The lesser of two evils compromise that got us to where we’re at.
I now see only about 20 Republicans in the entire House that come even remotely close to “perfect.” I used to think it was nearly the number in the so-called Freedom Caucus. In fact, over half of them have shown they are Uniparty.
I’ve learned that anytime the uniparty is in a rush to do anything its always bad for We The People. This
is p!ssing off all the right people. Like Matt says they’ll take a full day or 2 or 3 to name a post office.
Insanity is defined as — “Doing the same thing over and over, and expecting a different result.”
Given the behavior of the Swamp over the past couple decades, see absolutely no reason whatever to term McCarthy as in any way a “good” in comparison to something perfect. Did the Lyin’ Ryan ever do “good?” McCarthy was his lapdog.
McCarthy has not stood for anything of value. I am done with the “lesser of two evils” argument. Start standing for the Good and the True – at this point, there is no reason to think there is advantage in any other approach.
The lesser of two evils is still evil.
I am so disappointed about Ken Buck R COLO and a member of the Freedom Caucus, voting for MCCarthy.
He isn’t my rep, but my state; keeping on for the constituents: L Boebert!!!
My rep: Doug Lamborn R also voted for Kevin. (Have contacted him 3 days running.)
Like many in the Freedom caucus JUST controlled opposition to make themselves look good bach home for VOTES. A la JIM JORDAN the leader of UNIPARTY controlled opposition.
Those 20 conservatives are the ONLY Republicans looking out for the people. Hopefully they do not CAVE?
Don’t you love when people use words that are only truly descriptions of God. Words like perfect, awesome, majestic, truth…
Praise to Jesus Christ the King!
Define perfect in an actionable sense for Congress.
Not caving as fast as humanly possible to every democrat/COMMUNIST desire.
In other words don’t do things “the RINO way”.
It’s a start.
Not a definition of perfect.
“Do the right thing”
It doesn’t take more than a 12 year old to do this.
The whole point is that there are differing opinions on “the right thing”
Not a definition of perfect.
Everyone has a different idea of perfection, I think that is the point. Evil fills the vacuum left when people cast aside “Good” in pursuit of “Perfection”.
Yes it is. You asked for ‘perfect in an actionable sense for Congress’. Actions become more ‘perfect’ with sincere practice.
There are rules and laws for how our government is supposed to work. The Law is written on people’s hearts. Congress and other branches avoid or parse them as much as possible; much like willy human nature.
Do the right thing. It doesn’t take more than a 12 year old to do this. It seems to take so called ‘adults’ to argue that the ‘right thing’ is just an opinion.
It seems your only mantra is “Not a definition of perfect”. What is your definition of ‘perfect in an actionable sense for Congress’?
Not going along with evil would be a good start.
There is a quote that seems appropriate “When you compromise with evil, you are halfway to hell.”
I get all that. Though I don’t frame the matter in emotive terms. What’s going on is a political struggle over goals, objectives, priorities and process. The Republic is set up precisely to arbitrate among these areas of difference.
No argument that the process has been corrupted and needs to be repaired/restored.
Not a definition of perfect.
“The road to hell is paved with good intentions”
If one thinks in terms of labels.
Not a definition of perfect.
RINO’s seek to increase the number of RINO’s while claiming to be conservative and governing with, and caving to, democrats at every opportunity they can get.
RINO is the enemy of the good.
Keep doing the same thing and you’ll keep getting the same results.
The democrats and the RINO’s (there is really no difference) count on that.
RINO is the enemy of the good…..
That’s where the money is for RINOs. Caving to democrats.
So true GREG 1. 90% of the R party are RINOS. Just look at who is standing up against McCarty. Those 20 are MAGA and Conservatives. The rest are the RINO enemy that are card carrying UNIPARTY members.
While I do totally agree with your premise that “Perfect is the Enemy of Good” there is simply no urgency since McConnell sold the Republican party down the road by taking away the House’s ability to use the only tool they have during a time the Dems have the Presidency and the Senate till September of 2023 that being the “power of the purse” !
Also after Paul Ryan, simply sold America down the road when Republicans had the House, the Senate and the Presidency being more cautious this time around is not by any means radical and undeserved!
So are we playing horseshoes or lobbing hand grenades? Considering Biden is our “pResident” looks like horseshoes.
Gaetz is right. This discussion should have happened starting in Nov. Without that discussion and McCarthy moving in to the speakers office is disrespectful to the team.
If anything, McCarthy is being called to the carpet and should have a pound of flesh extracted from him and his minions.
I’m hoping for more than a pound. Most have much more than a pound to spare.
WTH? I don’t know what you have been paying attention to or what you listen to…but Keven McCarthy is NOT good! And I agree with the notion that if the uniparty is upset with what’s going on…its good! I also believe ithat if DJT is backing McCarthy, it’s cause he is keeping his enemy close, and will use him if and how ever he can to further MAGA. NOT because McCarthy has any GOOD in him. He is most certainly a rat. Or…he’s putting on the best show of being a rat, ever since he’s been there!
At this point, I have given up on waiting for Trump. With the Vax, lousy cabinet picks, Abortion back peddling, FBI director, Flynn twisting in the wind and now McCarthy, Trump is not where I am looking. The Tea Party existed before Trump and the only reason Trump is who he is is because of the Tea Party. That is way the Turtle keeps trying to shut them down.
“You shall not surely die” it’s a sliver that separates. A tactic liberals use to justify the means. “Perfect is the enemy of good.” Neither are describing what is going on. Compromise to a lesser stronghold.
I see McCarthy going in, they are just trying to leverage power to change the swamp, McCarthy will have no part of that.he will eventually lie and except their demands without results.
The problem is they have nobody they can put forward and agree upon, it’s a different person each time.
I politely and vehemently disagree with your premise. The Uniparty (which includes KMc) is not one smidgeon of “GOOD” unless you say, “Good for nothing”. I am sick of having to settle for the lesser of two EVILS. They are EVIL and you are trying to twist (like SATAN does) moral standards so that we think the Kevin and the Corrupt Gang have one ounce of GOOD in them. They are EVIL. I am sick of having to compromise the moral standards that our nation should have with the EVIL people who are almost finished with destroying our nation.
Our descent into an immoral abyss started long ago. Inch by obscene inch, so that, like the frog in the boiling water, few understood that our civil, spiritual, and moral underpinnings were being deliberately eroded.
Now, in fact, we are over the cliff…sans parachute.
The lesser of two evils is still evil. I am with you on that.
I remember when it was said that no war has ever been fought on the soil within the borders of the continental United States…now as disunited as ever they could be.
This may have been true once upon a time. Now? It is clear to me and I am sure others, that a war is exactly what has been visited upon this land. And it is one conducted intentionally from within. As soon as this is recognized and admitted, the sooner we can attempt to defeat the satanic forces funding and directing it. And note..I do say “attempt”.
This is why I overwhelmingly support and cheer those in the House in their fight to take the Big Club apart piece by piece…and return it to its purpose. Constitutional government. It is a Herculean task and the Augean stables are overflowing. But it has to start somewhere.
Bravo these representatives. May God direct them in their (hopefully) righteous endeavours.
The battered and bruised soul of our nation is at stake. There is all to fight for.
If you think McCarthy is the only good in the current situation then you’re not much of a cynic or a skeptic. What is the big rush to elect a RINO to be speaker? What is the downside if it takes until next week and McCarthy is forced to either remove himself from the picture or make concessions that can be enforced? Is there some time schedule that we’re on here?
Just as the American government has become more autocratic, so goes the Speakership. Too much power and corruption at the top. As I see it there are twenty brave souls fighting to get the Speakership authority back in line with what the framers intended as the house of the people as opposed as the house for sale for the highest corporate bidder.
You should write speeches for Kamala Harris.
Matt made a very key statement speaking of the 21 who are not voting for KM. “We are representing are constituents”. What a novel concept, an elected official who actually works for the people who voted them into office.
These 21 patriots are fighting for our future and conservative values.
In truth, we really don’t know what the hell they are fighting for. We only know that this does not appear to be business as usual, and that may well be a good thing. How good and in what ways or, for that matter, how bad? Again, we don’t know.
He said that they have asked for some very specific RULE CHANGES within the House.
Maybe you don’t. I do. It is pretty clear they are trying to clean up the mess and stop the passing of 1.7 trillion wasted spending bills without review. They want to go back to separate bills with amendments voted on. They want to restore sanity.
