Apparently, California Representative Kevin McCarthy has already moved his personal effects and furniture into the House Speaker’s Office despite not winning enough votes to be considered Speaker of the House.
Republican House member Matt Gaetz, a strong opponent of Mr McCarthy, sends a letter of inquiry asking how is this possible?

Ah, so the public ACTUALLY wants to get things done, does it, Lutz? As opposed to most other times when it’s fine with Congress working on strictly Uniparty stuff. They’re getting ready to toss a couple of ceremonial bones to the peeps.
Karl Rove has accused certain Repubs of seeking ‘personal power’. Fiends! Crenshaw calls it ‘narcissism’. Cads! When you won’t carry Uniparty water, they have all kinds of bad words lined up for you.
I have full nihilistic faith in the power of the Uniparty. Great theatah for sure. But it’ll fizzle.
It reminds me of the RINO’s taking shots at President Trump on behalf of DeSantis, then he pushed back against DeSantis and they all started sniveling about how bad it looked for Trump to do that.
Luntz has misread the tea leaves. Compromise and “working with the other parties” is why we are in the shape we are in now. The RINO’s negotiate all our rights away, negotiate our money and our power away and we the people get screwed every time.
I ain’t havin’ it this time. It’s time for brass knuckles and to DESTROY the other parties! Not interested in working “with” any of them. I’ve had it.

I’ll never understand the public’s desire for DC to ” get things done”. They never do anything that improves our country. The old adage is true ” the Dems are the evil party and the GOP is the stupid party. When they work together the result is stupid and evil”. The only solution is to end this charade and start over. The more paralyzed DC becomes the better it is for Americans.

Frank Luntz also said recently that the way forward is ranked choice voting, so only moderates can win. Somehow I think this tells us that Frank Luntz does not like conservative so much.
It kind of reminds me of the Seinfeld episode, where George isn’t sure if he has the job — so he walks into the office and just takes up residence as though he does. Maybe Kevin needs to start working on the Penske File… 🙂

You’re not put in that great hall to sit around agreeing with each other.
Everyone seems to think it’s going to be Dem breaking with their own Party to get McCarthy over the line.
I think it’s more likely we’ll have a bunch of RINOs threatening they’ll vote for Dem for Speaker unless the holdouts vote for McCarthy. It’s not enough to win, but to humiliate the opposition to McCarthy. So, they can say they made a spectacle for nothing, and in the end they still got McCarthy through. Then they’ll be blacklisted forever, if not already.
The RINOs don’t care if they lose to Dem as Speaker. So, they’ll actually vote for them. It’s be McCarthy or Dem. Then the GOPe will blame the MAGA reps for it. And, I think, unfortunately, so will Trump blame those who most support him.

I’m not sure…yet. Just waiting and watching. I think she may be the real deal, I mean Trump wanted McCarthy, and maybe Gaetz is just jockeying for positions on committees. But McCarthy is just a gold digging sell out to the people and will answer to God one day.
Trump wanted McCarthy because Trump wanted to say he endorsed the winner. McCarthy was supposed to be the easy win. I don’t think Trump trusts McCarthy- if he does, shame on Trump.
