A mom was taking her daughter to a show at Radio City Music Hall when she was pulled aside by security and told she would not be permitted admission. The lady works for a law firm currently in litigation with the venue’s parent company, Madison Square Garden Entertainment. All employees of the law firm are blacklisted.
Comrade citizens, what I find interesting about the story is the use of facial recognition to identify the woman and block her entry. It doesn’t take a deep thinker to see where this type of targeting mechanism can be deployed along ideological lines.

Georgia implemented that three years ago. The GA DDS also requires one to remove one’s eyeglasses – so a retinal scan can be performed by their portrait camera. Used to be one was ordered to wear one’s prescription glasses, so LEOs could match your face better to your license photo. Now I suppose LEOs aim some sort of optometrist’s tool at you, after they pull you over.
Having had both cornea and retinal surgeries, wonder how the scans would work, as scars and time do their changes? Also, due to decades of handwork, fingerprints cant be read by phones, door locks, etc.

And then there’s that little test of Amazon Rekognition to show how “accurate” facial recognition is. It compared the faces of Congress to mugshots . . . and mistakenly confused 28 Congress critters for imprisoned criminals.
Of course, it should have identified all 535 of them as criminals, but you get the idea.

I found it interesting this summer the facial machines were being tested in the Houston security lines. No one was told what it was people were just told “look into the camera”. Many followed along. Scanned peoples faces without so much as any explanation. I opted out when I asked was this optional. “Yes move to the license check”. Some people in the longest lines were offered a quick check to the front if they chose it. There was a company with clipboards pulling people who raised their hands to shorten their time in the line. Wish I could remember the company
