DeSantis has been a very good governor but when one looks at the Florida laws that he is receiving accolades for signing they are not as strong as pundits are saying. For example, the education law that stops gay ideology from being taught in school only applies to K-3rd grade, when IMO such ideology should never be taught in school. It is the parents’ responsibility to teach their children about such things not the state. The election integrity law that he passed is decent but Florida still uses voting machines. With Republican control of the state house and senate DeSantis should work to eliminate the use of voting machines in Florida. DeSantis has done a few headline grabbing transactions to highlight illegal immigration but after the election he has been quiet on illegal immigration and has done no follow through.
DeSantis is also signed a law that gives the state of Florida the authority to force vaxxinate anyone the state deems a health threat.

Sorry, but whether the current system of PAC and dark money funding is better than direct funding of campaigns seems an open question. As far as collecting sales tax on out of state purchase, AFAIK all states with sales/use taxes do that now and I don’t think it’s realistic to expect a state like Florida that depends on sales tax so heavily would forego collecting the tax.
If DeSantis gets the R nomination and Trump runs 3rd party it will be a repeat of Ross Perot.
