Book publishing, as done by politicians in both parties, is the way money is laundered to candidates and various campaign finance rules are subverted. Nikki Haley, Kristi Noem, Mike Pence, Mike Pompeo and Tim Scott have all released books in the past two months in advance of their 2024 presidential bids.
As noted recently by The Guardian, “Lachlan Murdoch, the heir apparent and eldest son, who co-chairs News Corp and runs the parent company of Fox News, has reportedly told DeSantis that the group would back him if he ran in the next election. “Lachlan has been keen on Ron for some time. He’s viewed within the organization as a sanitized version of Donald.”
Candidates are personally financed by the book publication laundry system through advances, typically several million, and then again indirectly by supporting organizations through mass purchasing. It is not uncommon to find hundreds-of-thousands of books in various warehouses purchased by groups as indirect contributions to boost the candidate of their choice. The purchases determine the “best seller” rankings.
It is unknown how much billionaire Rupert Murdoch has paid Ron DeSantis for the 2024 campaign but considering the stakes for this election cycle it’s likely in the $20 million range.

The autobiography by DeSantis, who was overwhelmingly re-elected three weeks ago to a second four-year term steering the increasingly red Sunshine State, is titled “The Courage to Be Free: Florida’s Blueprint for America’s Revival.”
Word of the book, scheduled to be published Feb. 28 by Broadside, the conservative arm of HarperCollins Publishing, was shared first with Fox News Wednesday. (more)
As we have chronicled since July, the decision for Ron DeSantis to enter the 2024 contest was made before the spring of 2022, everything thereafter has been a grand game of position and pretense. The seeds for the effort were laid even earlier in February when the DeSantis team reached out to “conservative influencers” to form the alignment for the August ’22 shift and branding campaign.
According to the most visible and predictable roadmap, DeSantis will likely be held back from an official announcement until later in 2023.
The problem for DeSantis handlers is that when the announcement is made all pretenses will be dropped and many people will review the landscape in hindsight and see the roadmap.
A combination of pretending, deflection and obfuscation is the management team’s #1 priority right now to avoid the Florida voter anger about being duped on DeSantis intention. However, they do have to follow the timeline of the script if they want to try and maintain the campaign momentum.
By design, Governor Ron DeSantis will almost certainly be the last candidate to enter the 2024 race, sometime late summer. The entry will depend on their success in keeping him in the spotlight and headlines without ‘officially’ looking like they are trying to keep him in the spotlight and headlines. None of these politicians turn out to be readable writers, so almost all of these novels are written by political writing specialists. Hillary has never written anything. Neither has Obama, for that matter. Biden has never even read a book, much less write one. I am posting every chance I get on other social media about how Ron DeSantis is a bought and paid for corporate shill. And, I am seeing more and more people posting other criticism of DeSantis.
It’s not bashing. These are facts.
As I posted previously, each Canadian citizen is only allowed to contribute $1100.00 per year to a party or a candidate and all corporations, unions and unincorporated associations are prohibited from donating even a penny to any candidate or party. The last fed election campaign lasted 40 days so there was no need for massive spending over 2 years. These laws were enacted to prevent hostile bitter billionaires like Murdoch et al from overpowering the electorate.
Events seem to be stacking up against PT in ways that seem far more difficult than in 2016 and 2020 was rigged, but I’m definitely not counting him out. How many Americans will still have free minds in the summer that will not be susceptible to the pending “DeSantis Red wave” propaganda?
If this massive collusion to eliminate P Trump is successful will DeSantis be electable for the good of the country or would most MAGA voters refuse to vote? And vice versa? Would the Gov. in the WH sellout the voters and completely change his stripes to appease and obey his donors or is he using them to get to the WH? IMO, whatever the outcome is, the next priority should be to save the country, preferably with PDJT in the WH but if not…a 3rd party finally.

Trump’s already proven he can take it as well as dish it out. But the larger issue is Republican Party getting on board with ballot harvesting.
Money doesn’t buy as much in American elections as you would think it does. Actually, other than paying for the voting machine results, I’m not sure it has all that much effect, if the other side has actual good ideas – word of mouth is still the best advertising.

Between ballot harvesting and distrust of GOPe backing De Santis or Trump fatigue, I don’t see a GOP candidate winning in 2024. So why not explicitly split the GOP vote with a 3rd party rather than implicitly with donor selected candidates.

It might allow someone to afford a larger house in a “high rent district”. Helps to explain way people accept a $176K/year job, and are multimillionaires in just a few years. Always had a hard time calculating how someone making that money could rich in a short time.

And Ron himself, whose record is built on deeds not words, is being undone by words, not deeds. Far as I can tell his governance hasn’t changed at all.

That is the best case scenario for a second Trump presidency. If you have any recollection of the last 6 years then you already know this. I read the comments on the first page, but am just starting the second page of comments, but it continues to occur to me that DeSantis is not supposed to be a “front runner”, for any of the Uni- party. Not sure if this has been mentioned here yet.
( I think that perhaps Sundance or some others have ventured that sort of thought before, but I cannot remember for sure if they have said so or not.)
DeSantis is likely to be the “vote splitter” for the Republican party in 2024 Prez election campaigns.
( Not unlike what an Independent or Third party can do to a front runner in an election )
Regardless…. Whether he wins or loses, DeSantis is Making $$$.

( Their “investments” in DeSantis are supposed to have bigger “returns” then what is spent to support DeSantis, regardless of which party it APPEARs the “investors” belong to right now…
Remember…the Uni Party , it doesn’t matter if there is a “R”. or a “D”, does it now? No, to them it does not. It is the plan for the “investors” to have control & make $$ as well, regardless of party affiliation)
Basically, I am of the mind that the goal is not so much that DeSantis is elected prez in 2024, but that he splits the vote away from DJT, and helps put a Demshovik in office. For that, he is making $$$. Win or lose.
At least that is how I am looking at things right now.
Of course that could change, but If DeSantis runs, he will likely pull votes away from DJT , but not a lot of Demshoviks will change over to vote for him. But, I think DeSantis will pull(split) republicans and take votes away from PDJT.
Maybe this has been covered before & I missed it in the past, but right now it is my opinion.

Read the article at your link. These words popped out at me “We’ve all got a lot of reading to do” as the author gushed about all the RINO’s “authoring” books prior to 2024. If memory serves me right Red State was full on NeverTrump in 2016, not sure about 2020 as I rarely visit the site.
