I am watching the local school races here around me, and in my humble opinion…… if these schools are passing their levies then the people are not feeling enough pain yet in their pocket books and they don’t really care that their children are being indoctrinated.

I live in NE Ohio, and our school levy, which was a renewal, was up for the second time after being defeated during the primary voting. I think a factor was that if the levy were defeated, all the property tax breaks, esp ones that help seniors like homestead breaks, would end with it. Just what I read here.
We have an income tax school levy where I am at.
I am just a flat NO on school levies….until they get their crap together and start teaching the kids the basics and start living within their budgets.
I can relate. Just saying that I think tying the levy to eliminating property tax breaks may have been a factor, esp with the recent huge hike in real estate assessments. I hate that our schools are funded by property taxes when the Ohio Supreme Court said it should not be done.

The good people of AZ who’s votes were disenfranchised, need to become vocal.
The film clip from this morning that was all over the internet was taken at the polling place in Anthem, a conservative enclave in far north Maricopa County.
I checked at around 6:30 pm, and the wait to vote was over 70 minutes with over 350 in line.
The people in line before 7 pm will all be allowed to vote, and I suspect many of them had tried earlier when the machines were not functioning properly.
The lawsuit was asking to keep effected polling places open until 10 pm and delay reporting of results until after 11 pm.
Disappointing it was rejected, but from the numbers of intrepid voters still in line it looks like Anthem patriots are not easily dissuaded.
